I'm among those that recently graduated and I didn't do the jamb regularisation because my matric is NOU16****
Pls any idea what's happening

Is it outstanding courses in my statement of results or available courses I'm yet to register in my student portal they use to stop final year students from graduating?

In my statement of results, there are 3 outstanding courses (2 compulsory & 1 elective). In student portal, after checking off those I've done, I'm seeing the DES303, CIT191 along with 6 electives I've not done:
1 in 200L - PHY208
3 in 300L - CIT333, CIT371 & CIT332
2 in 400L - CIT463 & CIT484

I'm studying Info Tech, so I'm confused on what to do on the electives so they don't use it to hold me down till next year. My initial budget that I funded was for the 3 outstanding courses in my statement of results:
CIT191, CIT208 & CIT463

I'm having the same issue with DES303 in my portal. It's among the registrable courses in my student portal but it is not among the outstanding courses in my statement of results from support portal.

I'm a final year student and ought to have graduated years ago but project and some other things delayed me, so this semester that I want to wrap up my project along with any outstanding courses I'm seeing it among my registerable courses in student portal.

Is it still advisable to leave it/not do it and they won't use it to tie me down for another semester registration to go and do it? Because I heard it's compulsory course for all departments.

Please, these are the courses I am seeing in my portal for my 1st semester. It's a total of 14 credit units load.
Am I to register all of them or is anyone meant to be elective?

This is where nairaland bot is useless as an answer as simple as an alphabet or digit can not be welcomed anymore without the bot asking for 40 more characters.

The issue with the student is the system is recognising him/her as one who started from 100L instead of Direct Entry and that has birth another erroneous perspective here about GSTs.

GST 105 and 203 are not mutually exclusive, all students must take both if you don't want to waste your time waiting for your name on the graduation list which won't happen.
They are both listed on the outstanding courses in the students' support portal and also listed as registrable courses on the main student portal.

What is listed on NOUN website is not what is actually applicable on ground at times.

The institution never had intention of embarking on any recruitment based on merit. From the date it was posted till now.
As a matter of fact, the advert was released last week and when I read through it, I saw a red flag and that's why I didn't bother to apply.

Some of those questions, I assume it's because they cannot find a straight response for you. If you ask different NOUN staff at the Study Centre, you will hear diverse responses which supports this speculation.

The official information available is that DE (300L DE) students are required to take ONLY NOU107 (GST107) and GST302. That's all.


Any other thing you are told or you hear is contrary to the official information.

But because many are not equipped or conversant with info, they will tell you different things not backed up by any official information but assumptions. I have heard some students saying they were told to take ALL GST courses including 100L GSTs and 200L GSTs as DE students. That is incorrect.

in my support portal I have other 200l course including one gst204.

While some people said I must write all the 200l courses to finally graduate, some said I must write only the gst204 not minding I admitted into 300l.
Lastly, some said I should ignore it since it's not 300l GST.

The worst part of it is that NOUN support are not responding to tickets

You really think I will make such claim ignorantly, Thats what the HOD told me herself. I called Abuja, they told me to write a letter through my study centre, next day I got a call that the letter cannot go through because all students must take 100 level courses irrespective of their entry mode.

I studied media studies, but last year I decided to sit for another WAEC so I could switch fully into a science-related course. Now, I’m considering applying to NOUN to study Information Technology. However, I noticed that one of the courses listed is Elementary Mathematics.

To be honest, I don’t really like mathematics, and I’m a bit worried about how difficult it might be. I believe I can push through, but I still have this fear and uncertainty.

Please, I need your sincere advice.

In the name of institution; Should I just write "National Open University" or "Post Graduate School of NOUN"?

Then in address & State; which particular address and State do I use considering that NOUN is a National school & the admission will likely be processed from the headquarters which should be Abuja.

Then, their destination contact number which I don't have.

Please, people that have pass through this stage, kindly help me out with the right information.
