Apple Inc have reported that the company has recorded more than 10 million sales of the new iPhone 6 plus in the first three days underscoring strong demand for phones with larger displays.

The phone which was on a high demand from customers after it went on sale on Friday, September 19, 2014, is now the higher sales recorded than the nine million new iPhones it sold last year in their first weekend on sale. Speaking on the sales, a rep from Apple said ‘The first-weekend iPhone sales number continues to be more about how much Apple can supply than what the demand is in the market.’

Maynard Um, a senior research analyst for Wells Fargo, has predicted that Apple will sell about 58 million iPhones in the holiday quarter.

Arsene Wenger has moved to defend Mesut Ozil against recent criticism by saying he wouldn’t think twice about paying £42m for the German again.

Ozil has come under fire in recent weeks, particularly following his lacklustre display in Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.

But Wenger does not believe the criticism of the midfielder has been fair and insists the responsibility shouldn’t all be on Ozil’s shoulders despite his price tag.

‘You expect the team to play well and not to put the responsibility on any one player to be a magician but that does not exist anymore in the modern game,’ the Frenchman said.

‘Remember, Ozil did not pay the £42million himself. I would pay the money again.

‘I feel that responsibility exactly the same for a player who cost £1.

‘When I see a talent, for any player, I think how can I get the best out of him. That is not linked with price. It is just a coincidence that the market is like it is.’

Well this was actually reported in July 2013, quite a long time ago but i got to read it last night and i decided to share it.

NASA announced today that its Curiosity Rover has found an unambiguous message from God written on tablets in a Martian cave.

According to an official press release two giant stone slabs the size of small elephants were located deep inside a cavern abutting Aeolis Mons, a large mountain.

Upon one tablet is a copy of the Ten Commandments and the text of John 3:16 written in 12 languages – including English, Spanish, Chinese, Basque and Hebrew. On the other tablet is a simple message in English reading “I am real.”

According to top scientists who have studied the discovery extensively, these findings may have definitively established Christianity as the one true religion.

“This is amazing,” says Syms Covington, an Australian researcher working for NASA’s Mars Exploration Program. “We went into the cave looking for water, and we found proof of God’s existence instead.

“I mean how else did those tablets get there? I can tell you one thing: there’s not a single atheist inside NASA’s control room now. What we saw was jaw-dropping.”

NASA’s Curiosity rover arrived on Mars in August of last year with a mission to explore the Martian climate and geology for signs for habitability.

Thus far the mission has been a success, with the discovery of an ancient seabed and chemicals needed for life suggesting that Mars was once suitable for life.

However the tablets, both of which are signed “Peace and Love – Yahweh,” represent the rover’s most significant find to date, and is perhaps the most important scientific event in history.

“When people find out about this, they will demand change in our society,” explains a political scientist at Georgetown University. “Democracy will have to give way to theocracy. We’re gonna have to build more churches and reintroduce prayer into schools. Abortion is defiantly going to be illegal within a few months.”

Despite its potential significance, Covington fears that the Earth-shattering discovery may not make the impact it should.

“Unfortunately, the mainstream media is so anti-Christian, they might not even pick up this story,” he explains. “But God is real. We have proof. And everyone deserves to hear the truth.”

Aston Villa will go into this game with an impressive start to the Premier League having only conceded once in the opening 4 games and have amassed 10 points from 12. Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa currently sits in second position with an undefeated record so far this season, with 3 wins and a draw. Arsenal have been slightly less impressive than this weekend’s rivals but the Gunners are also undefeated with a win and three draws currently good enough to put them in 7th place.

Both sides have had their fair share when it comes to playing the top teams with Villa defeating Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield last time out and Arsenal gaining creditable draws away to Everton and at home to Manchester City. However, Aston Villa looks like the comfortable side going into this clash after the Anfield win last week, while Arsenal on the other hand lost in midweek to Borussia Dortmund with lots of criticism from fans and journalist alike about play maker, Mesut Ozil’s less than impressive impact so far.

Team News

Manager Paul Lambert has just three injuries to contend with although two of them could be classed as his two star players. While star striker Christian Benteke who has been injured since March is out until October with his long term injury, Centre-back Ron Vlaar is still sidelined with a calf injury that forced the Dutchman out of the win over Liverpool. Libor Kozak rounds off the Aston Villa injury list with his broken leg which should keep him out until November.

Despite the Premier League season being only 4 weeks old, Arsenal already have a huge injury list to contend with. The London club currently have the joint most first team players out injured with seven squad members missing at the moment – this is tied alongside Newcastle United and Manchester United who both have seven injuries apiece.

Summer signing Mathieu Debuchy is out with an ankle injury sustained against Manchester City last weekend whilst Jack Wilshere who was a doubt with an ankle injury of his own has been certified fit by the Arsenal boss. Nacho Monreal who was initially out of the clash with Dortmund due to back injury has been ruled out of this weekend’s game as the boss admitted he doesn’t know how long the Spaniard would be out for. Strikers Yaya Sanogo and Olivier Giroud have hamstring and foot injuries respectively whilst wingers Serge Gnabry and Theo Walcott are still some way from fitness with knee and ACL injuries. However, Arsenal supporters can take some solace in the fact that Walcott might be back before the end of this month.

West Ham vs Liverpool

After coming from behind twice to graba 2-2 draw against Hull City away from home last weekend, West Ham United welcome Liverpool to Upton Park in the Saturday tea-time encounter. The Hammers go into the game in 13th place after picking up four points from their first four games whilst Gerrard and co have lost two of their four matches to sit in 8th position going into this weekend games.

The Reds go into the game on the back of a shock defeat at home to Aston Villa after a bitterly disappointing display. Coupled with the defeat at Man City in their second game, Liverpool have already lost twice so far which will be frustrating considering the excellent display against Spurs. Rodgers expects better from his men and after narrowly winning unimpressively aginst Ludogrets in their first game back in the Champions League in midweek, a win would be pleasing for him to be able to keep tabs on the other top teams.

Sam Allardyce will take many positives from his side’s performance against a tough Hull outfit who led twice in the match. An absolute thunderbolt from Enner Valencia alongside a Curtis Davies own goal helped West Ham get a point away from Hull. The Hammers were desperate to gain something out of the match considering their woeful display at home to Southampton in their previous game. In front of their home fans once again, West Ham will want to give their supporters something to cheer about come the end of the game.

It was a controversial affair the last time these two sides met at Upton Park with Liverpool eventually edging the contest 2-1courtesy of two penalties, both scored by captain Steven Gerrard, which was sandwiched between a Guy Demel goal, which was allowed to stand even after Andy Carroll impeded goalkeeper Simon Mignolet in the build up.

After opening his Liverpool account in midweek, Balotelli would be looking to get his 1st league goal for the Anfiled side who continue to be without the injured Daniel Sturridge, while Enner Valencia would hope he can continue his goal scoring form after scoring 1 in West Ham’s away visit at Hull City

Team News

West Ham will hope to be able to call on Matt Jarvis, who has recovered from a thigh injury as well as Carl Jenkinson who tweaked his hamstring in the draw against Hull City. Joey O’Brien could also be declared fit for the Saturday tea-time game after shaking off a knee injury but club captain Kevin Nolan will not be in action for at least another month after fracturing his shoulder. Injury-prone striker and former Liverpool player Andy Carroll will miss the match against his old side as he is still suffering from an ankle injury.

The Hammers went into the game at the KC Stadium with a surprisingly attacking line up after handing debuts to Diafra Sakho and the impressive Enner Valencia who scored an early contender for goal of the season with a thunderous strike in the 2-2 draw. Zarate and Downing provided the support for the strikers but it looks like at least one of the four attacking players will be sacrificed in order to sure up the midfield with Alex Song being a strong contender to start.

The Reds could see the return of Martin Skrtel and Joe Allen to the first team line-up after both missed the defeat to Aston Villa last week. Glen Johnson (thigh) is nearing full fitness but Jon Flanagan (knee) will be missing for a few months after undergoing surgery. Emre Can was recently ruled out for up to six weeks after injuring his ankle on duty with the German U21 team. Sturridge is out with a thigh muscle injury after he sustained the injury while on international duty with the England national team.

Rodgers reverted back to 4-3-3 system against Aston Villa and clearly something didn’t click so he may look to go to his favoured diamond formation in midfield, with Sterling playing either as a second striker or as a number 10 behind the front two. Balotelli will lead the line but Rodgers may spring a surprise by giving Fabio Borini an opportunity up front after impressing as a substitute in the Champions League.



Verdict

Westham would try to make it difficult for Liverpool who will need Sterling to be on top form to boost their chances of coming away with all of the 3 points. However, with the likes of Lallana, Markovic yet to get their feet yet, this could be a tricky tie for the Cops. 1-3

Nations Cup 2015 Qualifiers; Cameroon hammer Ivory Coast to stay top of Group D

Cameroon continued their resurgence as they hammered Ivory Coast 4-1 in their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Yaounde.



Having put their disastrous World Cup campaign behind them to beat DR Congo last weekend, the Indomitable Lions made it two wins out of two games in Group D in their quest to reach next year’s tournament in Morocco.



Cameroon striker Clinton Njie and Vincent Aboubakar both scored twice as the hosts ran out with a comprehensive victory against the Elephants of Ivory Coast.



A deflection off a defender helped Njie put Cameroon ahead on 15 minutes only for Yaya Toure to level 10 minutes later when he slid in to convert a cross.

Aboubakar intercepted a headed back-pass to fire past veteran goalkeeper Boubacar Barry and give the home team a 2-1 half-time lead.

A loose ball was hammered home by Aboubakar on 54 minutes and he set up Njie to score with an unstoppable close-range shot 14 minutes from time.



In Group D’s other Game, DR Congo ran out 2-0 victors against Sierra Leone as

Firmin Mubele Ndombe gave the visitors an early lead while Bokala scored late on to make the game safe and put pressure on Ivory Coast.



Group A

Congo continued their impressive start to the campaign with a 2-0 win over visiting Sudan who is yet to score a goal in the final round of qualifiers.

The Congolese victory comes on the back of their shock 3-2 win over African champions Nigeria on Saturday.

Férébory Doré opened the scoring for Claude LeRoy’s side after just four minutes.

The second goal came from Prince Oniangue in injury time match to give the Red Devils a maximum six points from 2 games.

Congo are only in the group stages after Rwanda were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player against them in the play-offs



South Africa and Nigeria played out an uninspiring goalless draw in Cape Town in the other Group A match.

The results mean Congo top Group A with six points, South Africa are on four while Nigeria have a single point and Sudan with no points.



Group B

Atusaye Nayondo scored twice to help Malawi to a 3-2 home win against Ethiopia.

Nyondo struck the first goal of the game on 18 minutes but Malawi were pegged back by an equaliser from Getaneh Kebede.

However, 2 quick fire second-half goals from in the 63rd and 66th minute from Frank Banda and Nyondo’s second goal respectively render meaningless a stoppage strike from the visitors’ Yussuf Saleh.

In the other Group game, Carl Medjani’s 84th minute strike late on gave Algeria a 1-0 win over Mali.

Despite the loss, Mali sits 2nd in a qualifying spot 3 points behind leaders Algeria in 1st place, Malawi is 3rd on 3 points while Eithiopia sits bottom on no pionts



Group C

Angola slumped to a 3-0 home loss against Burkina Faso to a second – half Jonathan Pitroipa brace after Aristide Bance had given the Stallions a 1st half lead.

Meanwhile in the other Group game, Lesotho were close to grabbing a surprise victory over Gabon despite an early red card to Goal Keeper Mohau Kuenane in the 34th minute before Emmanuel Lekhanya scored to give the host a first-half lead. Levy Madinda got the equalizer to spare the blushes of the Gabonese to earn a share of the spoils.

Burkina Faso stays top with six points, Gabon on 4 points, Lesotho on one point and Angola placed bottom with no points.



Group E

In a thrilling encounter, Ghana edged out Togo with a late winner from Christian Atsu. Togo had initially taken the lead in the 12th minute before 2 goals from Asamoah Gyan and Agyeman Badu put the black Stars on top going into the 2nd half. Emmanuel Adebayor pulled level on the 76th minute but it wasn’t enough as the Black Stars ran out winners.

Uganda having earned a draw in their first game against Ghana ran out 2 nil winners against Guinea with first half brace from Geoffrey Massa.



Uganda and Ghana stay top with 4 points with Uganda 2 goals difference putting them in top spot, while Guinea stay third with 3 points and Togo in bottom place with no points.



Group F

Mozambique and Niger played out a 1-1 draw with the home side early penalty opener converted by Domingues was cancelled out Mahamane Cisse in the 25th minute.

In other game in the Group, Cape Verde continued their perfect start with a 2-1 win against 2011 African Nations cup winner Zambia. Heldon got the winner in the 77th minute after Zambia’s Jacob Mulenga had cancelled out Ze Luis’ first –half opener.

Cape Verde stays top with six points, Mozambique second on 2 points from 2 games, Zambia and Niger on 3rd and 4th respectively on 1 point each.



Group G

Southampton’s Sadio Mane scored as the Teranga Lions of Senegal cruised to a 2-0 win against host Botswana. Dame N’Doye doubled the Teranga Lions’ advantage late on to secure top spot for the Teranga Lions.

Egypt who lost their first game to the Senegalese were looking to get back to winning ways in front of their home fans went behind to an early goal from Tunisia’s Fakhreddine Ben Youssef in the 14th minute to slump to their 2nd defeat in the qualifiers.

This result means Senegal and Tunisia stay in first and 2nd place with 6 points from 2 games while Botswana and Egypt stay 3rd and 4th respectively with no points.

With reports of a Congo win at home to Sudan, the Super Eagles had it all to do in a must win AFCON qualifier at the Cape Town stadium against host south Africa but couldn’t do enough to get all 3 points as they could only settle for a draw.

The South African’s were quick off the block causing the Nigerian’s a few problems and could have easily gone ahead in the opening minutes but a timely block from Omeruo prevented a scoring opportunity for the South African’s.

The Nigerian’s however would take control of the game but couldn’t create a decent scoring chance. Both sides lacked any form of cutting edge to take hold of the game as Half time approached.

The 2nd half started with both sides trying to take control of the game bit poor passes and a lack of control saw a game not keenly contested by either side looking not to make mistakes starting to be an even dull affair.

The Nigerian’s would have felt the dropped points despite managing to shed more of the possession and also having a goal bound header cleared of the line with an acrobatic header.

In the latter stages, South Africa fashioned out a few chances of their own after a decent spell saw them get the upper hand but Ejide was the hero saving the goal bound shot as both sides played out a scoreless draw.

All in all, the Super Eagles would feel they could have done better after this uninspiring display see them only pick a point from a possible 6 and also see Congo top the group with 6 points from the opening 2 games as they saw of Sudanese side who is yet to score a goal in the 2 games is placed bottom on the log.

Nigeria sits in 3rd place with only 1 point while south Africa with 4 points sits in 2nd place going into the day 3 of the AFCON qualifiers.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be seeking to get back to winning ways when they take on the Bafana Bafana of South Africa tonight in a crucial African Nations Cup qualifier encounter taking place at Cape Town Stadium, Cape Town South Africa.

The Super Eagles opening day loss to Congo at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar came as a surprise to many; however, with South Africa’s convincing 3-0 victory away from home, and despite the Nigeria loss to Congo, South Africa coach, Mashaba is quite conservative about his country’s chances of a positive result against Nigeria. He said, “We are meeting our nemesis but my gut feeling is that all that is about to change”. In 9 meetings, South Africa will be looking to get only their 2nd win against Nigeria.

Nigeria’s Stephen Keshi has a lot to do to raise the morale of his boys and would be looking to get an improved performance from his team. He refused to be drawn into the manner of loss at home to Congo. After the game, he said, “Everybody is going to lose someday. We cannot win all the games all the time”.

In the other Group A game, Congo would be looking to get all 3 points to boost their chances of qualification as they host Sudan. Kimye attended last night's British GQ "Men of the Year" awards in London, because Kim was getting an award — the "Woman of the Year" trophy. (Yes, out of 23 awards total, at this year's ceremony at least, that's the only one given to a lady.) Posing on the red carpet, Kim wore a black pleather bustier by fetish label Atsuko Kudo and a chainmail-style skirt from British fashion brand Ralph & Russo's recent couture collection. You could see her underwear — because chainmail can be sexy like that when it's not worn on the battlefield. British GQ's editor presented the award to Kim — the Daily Mail says she "lost her cool" a little after he got her name wrong, which is unfortunate. As is traditional — i.e. part of the "prize" package" that comes with the award — Kim also covers British GQ's new issue. (As E! Online notes, though the issue is out now, the color of Kim's hair suggests the photos were taken a little while back, possibly even last year.) The Ebola virus has been in Nigeria for about 44-45 days now ever since the index case Patrick Sawyer found his way to Lagos. Since then there have been cases reported in Lagos, and Port Harcourt as confirmed by the Federal Ministry of Health. Star Boy CEO Wizkid, was in neighbouring Benin at the weekend for a concert where he decided to do a little charity work after performance

The artiste, who has recently been touring some countries,took to his Instagram to post a video of him about to get up on the stage as thousand of fans screamed.

He added the caption, “30,000 people!! Benin Republic turn up!! Sold out!”

Meanwhile, Wizkid also shared a photo where he gave out relief items to the less privileged.

He wrote, “Food nd wheelchairs for the less privileged. This won’t do nothing for them but I pray God keeps ND protects everyone! God has a special plan. Make someone smile today! bless!”

Nigerian Disc jockey and artiste DJ Stramborella has just been unveiled as the official DJ to award winning pop duo P-square.

Peter Okoye made the announcement a few minutes ago on his instagram handle.

Stramborella is mostly remembered for his famous hit single ‘Efrebor.’ He has also worked as a freelance DJ for top radio stations like Cool FM, Rhythm FM, and Unilag FM. T

he Imo-born entertainer is currently on a radio tour with the twins on promotion of their forthcoming studio album titled ‘Double Trouble’

Following the released nude photo of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence on social media, the on-line impersonators have claimed to have private pictures of 100 A-list Hollywood celebrities.

The 100 A-list celebrities alleged to be targeted include reality TV star Kim Kardashian, singer Rihanna, models Candice Swanepoel, Cara Delevingne and Kelly Brook, and TV host Cat Deeley.

The anonymous hacker reportedly gained access to private photos via Apple’s on-line storage system iCloud.

Just like football stars, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, the rivalry and comparison between Nigerian pop stars, Wizkid and Davido will probably continue for a long time for different reasons.

The equally and hugely talented music stars are both successful, thus, it may be a herculean task choosing one over the other. Since the Wizkid/Davido war began, it might not be wrong to say Wizkid seems to be enjoying the buzz the rivalry is creating for his brand, as he seems uninterested in ending the rivalry.

Reasons as given by few personalities NET spoke to include Wizkid’s demand for respect from his erstwhile friend, Davido, and a proper apology from the 21 year old, who allegedly connected with several entertainers as a result of his association with Wizkid years ago. Keen followers of the events that have occurred between Wizkid and Davido recently may wonder what explanation can be given to Wizkid’s tweets, which allegedly insulted Davido.

Shortly before the hostilities began some weeks ago, sources divulged that Wizkid, Davido and other artistes such as Flavour, KCEE, Harrysong and popular hypeman Special Ed had a good time at the airport before embarking on a trip to New York.

However, it took many by surprise when the two kicked off Twitter rants and throwing what had been described as ‘shade’ at each other without calling out any names. Another reason why it might become almost impossible for Wizkid to forgive Davido might be an alleged act of betrayal that Wizkid felt during the D’Banj and Don Jazzy breakup. ‘Wizkid felt betrayed by Davido that he pitched his tent with D’Banj and couldn’t believe his friend could leave their much older friend, Wande Coal, who at that pitched his tent with Don Jazzy,’ a close source told Nigerian Entertainment Today.

It has been noted that since the two began hostilities towards each other, Wizkid has not posted an apology tweet to his fans, while Davido is always quick to apologize after several minutes of Twitter rants. In their last exchange while both were in New York, Davido was quick to tweet about forgetting the entire exchange of words as he intends to continue his music, but rather than remain silent or tweet an apology to fans, Wizkid threw another shot at the 21 year old singer.

Meanwhile, it is being peddled about that the tweet fights and hostilities might have not degenerated to this level if Davido had not left a bad taste in Wizkid’s mouth after allegedly abandoning him at a night club, which he invited him to three years back.

Before the two became rivals, allegations were rife that Davido and his HKN crew had allegedly invited Wizkid to the club only to abandon him to pay the bills and find his way home himself. Even as older colleagues tried to wade into the rivalry, KCee in a chat with Nigerian Entertainment Today said the beef was needed to keep the industry booming.

In his words, ‘I really don’t know what to say about it or where its coming from. It happens, even in America you need stunts like this to keep the industry burning, so I don’t think it’s a big deal, because on the long run they’ll eventually make peace.

Despite the buzz, anticipation and build up to the release of the three songs released by pop duo Psquare on Friday, August 29, 2014, I was one of the few Nigerians that didn’t expect anything spectacular from the pop giants, partly because I’m not a fan of Dave Scott and T.I, and then because I no longer expect anything fantastic from our so called ‘Big artistes’. They have all grown lazy and simply dish out weak lyrics, poorly produced beats and expect us to simply hop on it because they are superstars. Well, P-Square decided to prove me and other skeptics wrong this time around. First, they released the titles of the songs a few days ago, and judging from the titles, you’ll realise that they mean business. They clearly want to capture more of the local audience, otherwise how do you explain featuring T.I on a song titled ‘Eje Ajo’ (translated: Let’s dance)?

By now, it’s a known fact that the late Micheal Jackson had a great influence on P-Square, which explains why they decided to release these set of songs on August 29, Micheal Jackson’s birthday (he would have been 56 years old). ‘Eje Ajo’ featuring American rapper T.I is an up-tempo dance song. The video opens in a parking lot with Peter doing a couple of elementary dance routines with his dancers, then it moves on to a club scene with girls dancing. T.I then comes in to take the third verse. Overall, it’s a good song that’ll pass, even though I expected more from T.I.

Congrats to “Being Mary Jane” star actress Gabrielle Union and NBA Superstar Dwyane Wade. The couple tied the knot on Saturday August 30 2014 at the Chateau Artisan in Miami.

The couple who have been together for several years were surrounded by friends and family as they said “I Do” at the glamorous moated castle. The ceremony was officiated by actress Essence Atkins and her husband Jamie Mendez.

The bride wore a beautiful ballgown by Dennis Basso for Kleinfeld while the groom wore a custom suit by DSquared2 with a bow-tie from his line with The Tie Bar.

Music superstar John Legend serenaded the couple and their guests while they sipped on wine from the bride’s Vanilla Puddin’ Chardonnay line.
