The Headies has officially set off the awards season this year with the 10th edition of it's annual ceremony celebrating Nigerian music talent.
The event currently being held at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos is being hosted by Nigerian comedian, Bovi and dance queen, Kaffy.
The event was originally scheduled to hold on December 30, 2015 but was postponed to January 1, 2016.

Martin Skrtel limped off injured against Watford on Sunday

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel could be out for up to three months with a hamstring injury.
Skrtel was substituted just 41 minutes into the Reds' 3-0 Premier League defeat at Watford on Sunday.
The 31-year-old’s injury leaves Jurgen Klopp with just Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho as his only fit central defenders.
And the former Borussia Dortmund boss may be forced into the transfer market to look for cover.

One defender he has reportedly increased his interest in is Schalke star Joel Matip.
Klopp had been expected to wait until the summer to make a move for the 24-year-old when his contract with the German club runs out.
However, the Daily Mirror claim that after losing Skrtel the Reds boss will ramp up his pursuit of the Cameroon international.
Matt could be signed for an fee in the region of £4million.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is under intense pressure at Old Trafford

GLENN HODDLE admits teams are starting to enjoy playing Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are currently on a three-game losing streak that includes an early exit from the Champions League after losing 3-2 to Wolfsburg and back-to-back defeats against minnows Bournemouth and Norwich.
Norwich were not fazed by the often intimidating surroundings of Old Trafford as they inflicted defeat on United for the first time at home this season.
As a result of United's poor run of form, Van Gaal has come under intense criticism from fans and former players for his 'boring' style of football.

This scrutiny has ignited rumours that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could take over at Old Trafford, with reports suggesting that if Van Gaal was to suffer a Boxing Day defeat to Stoke then he could be sacked and replaced by the 52-year-old.

Sacked Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been lined up to replace Louis van Gaal at Manchester United

MANCHESTER UNITED have put Jose Mourinho on standby to take over as their manager.

Under-fire Louis van Gaal is set to be given the two Christmas games - at Stoke on Boxing Day and at home to Chelsea 48 hours later - to save his job.
But if the Dutchman fails to halt United's dismal run - they are winless in six matches - Mourinho has been lined up to take over in the New Year.
United have chosen not to give Van Gaal a vote of confidence and also refused to deny reports from Spain yesterday they have already agreed in principle a five-year contract with Mourinho's representatives.

A club source said: "There's nothing to report here. We are just not getting involved in this."
Former Chelsea boss Mourinho, 52, is the overwhelming favourite among United's increasingly disgruntled fans to replace Van Gaal who has presided over three successive defeats.

Jose Mourinho is the bookies favourite to become the next Manchester United manager

JOSE MOURINHO is lining up Manchester United as his next managerial job, according to reports.

The 52-year-old was sacked as manager of Chelsea on Thursday after guiding the Blues to an uncharacteristic 16th place in the Premier League table - just one point above the relegation zone.
However, his shock departure could open the door to a job many feel he has longed for, especially given the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Louis van Gaal's role at Old Trafford.

Expensive smartphones, built with premium unibody metal designs, can struggle to pickup signal
FLAGSHIP smartphones struggle to perform the most basic function of a mobile phone, new research has found.

Dropped signal is one of the most frustrating problems with smartphones. And according to Ofcom, the trouble is directly related to how much money to splash-out on your new handset.
Research from the telecoms regulatory body shows that high-end materials – including metal and glass – negatively affects your mobile signal.
As a result – the most expensive flagship devices need a signal nine times stronger than plastic non-smart mobiles.

While premium materials like glass and aluminium make for a more attractive and enjoyable smartphone it does make the device more susceptible to dropped calls.
Ofcom conducted its research in controlled lab conditions with a number of high-end and cheaper, plastic phones.

The cheaper iPhone 6C is expected to resemble the iPhone 5S, albeit with a curved glass display
APPLE'S long-rumoured, redesigned four-inch iPhone 6C will be unveiled early next year, a prominent industry analyst has revealed.

Apple embraced larger screen smartphones with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus – a trend that continued this year with the iterative, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
Unfortunately those looking for a smaller iPhone have been left in the lurch with Apple's new design. But that could be about to change.
Technology analyst Ming-Chi Kuo – who has a solid track record predicting future Apple products – claims the Cupertino firm is preparing to launch a new four-inch iPhone.
Following in the footsteps of the colourful and plastic iPhone 5C, the new smartphone will "resemble an upgraded iPhone 5s."
However – unlike the iPhone 5S – the new four-inch smartphone will have the same curved glass edges introduced with the iPhone 6 design.

Ming-Chi Kuo, who works for Thai firm KGI Securities, claims the internals will also see a dramatic bump.

The news comes days after an Alabama man filmed his new hoverboard bursting into flames outside his home.
NTS officials said many of the hoverboards seized had "non-compliant electrical components that could explode or catch fire".

The warning comes days after footage of a self-balancing scooter burst into flame was posted online
Non-compliant plugs without fuses were found on many of the self-balancing scooters. This increases the risk of overheating and exploding.
Bundled chargers, cables and batteries also failed a key number of National Trading Standards tests.

Kelechi Nwakali captained Nigeria to success in the under 17 World Cup
CHELSEA have pulled ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Nigerian youngster Kelechi Nwakali.

FACEBOOK users are struggling to remove the French flag filter from their social media profile pictures, but here's the fix.

In the wake of the devastating terror attacks in Paris, Facebook allowed users to overlay the French flag across their profile picture to pay tribute to the 129 people who died.
Users were able to superimpose red, white and blue stripes across their existing photograph by clicking on the "customise your profile picture" option.
The hugely popular US social network actively encouraged people to customise their pictures to "support France and the people of Paris."

When customising their profile picture, Facebook users are given the option to let the French flag expire after a day, a week, a month – or last forever.
However users who set a longer time limit are now struggling to disable the tribute to France.

Islamic State have started a 24 hour 'help desk'
ISIS appears to have reached new levels of online sophistication.

Islamic State – or ISIS – has a reputation as a technology-savy terror organisation.
The group has a strong social media presence, which is uses to disseminate propaganda and lure western recruits to Syria.
But now Islamic State appears to have reached new levels of sophistication, with the launch of a 24-hour tech help-desk.

According to an NBC News report, the terror group is staffing a "24-hour Jihadi Help Desk" designed to support its followers.
Roughly six extremists staff the support desk and "answer questions from the technically mundane to the technically savvy to elevate the entire jihadi community to engage in global terror," counterterrorism analyst Aaron Brantly revealed to NBC News.
Earlier this week, Islamic State published a guide to its followers to help them avoid detection online.
