An Ohio couple who were married for 79 years have died hours apart after spending their last moments together.

Hubert and June Malicote, both 100, died last week, their 76-year-old son, Sam Malicote, told The Dayton Daily News.

On Nov. 30, Hubert died before his wife "by only hours, marking the end of their 81-year-love story," according to his obituary.

About 20 hours later, June died on the afternoon of Dec. 1, Sam said.

Couple, both aged 100, who were married for 79 years, die hours apart

"I feel sad, but I shouldn't. Who can expect to live a life like that?" he told the newspaper.

"They went out together," he added.

Sam told the paper that after celebrating Thanksgiving as a family, his mother became ill and entered hospice care.

While visiting her on Nov. 25, Hubert "fell apart" and was also admitted, Sam said.

After being unconscious for days in the same room, the 76-year-old said that his father died of a "broken heart."

Hubert and June were both born in July 1922. They tied the knot on June 8, 1943.

Reflecting on their decades-long love, the pair previously said that one secret to their lasting bond was to avoid arguments.

"We've never had one quarrel," Hubert told WLWT.

"If there's controversy, you might have to walk away for a couple minutes," he noted during a separate interview with Today. "Then you come back in and change the subject or you work it out."

Their daughter Jo also told the outlet that the pair "hold hands and say goodnight to each other" every night.

The Indigenous People of Biafra has said that it did not give a five-day sit-at-home order to residents of South-East, IGBERETV reports.

The seperatist group which said the "senseless order" came from people against the Biafra agenda, also urged residents of the region to get their PVCs for the 2023 general election from their pooling and registration centre without fear of molestation.

The statement released by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, read;

“We wish to state unequivocally to the people of Biafra, friends of Biafra, and lovers of Biafra freedom that IPOB leadership did not issue any sit-at-home order on 9th,10th, 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th of December 2022.

“IPOB never issued any sit-at-home order on these days mentioned above because we are not miscreants, senseless, or jobless people.

“Every Biafran and residents in Biafra Land should ignore such order from untrained and brainless individuals whose agenda is to make Biafra agitation unattractive to our people . Every Biafran must go to their normal business on those days.

“IPOB who is concerned about our people cannot issue such brainless uncaring five-day consecutive sit at home order to suffer our people during this critical time of the year when people are trying to makeup in their businesses for the year.

“The conception of consecutive five-day sit at home by a Nigeria agent and his sponsors is to show the level of wickedness and hatred they have against our people. Their agenda is to create insecurity and unnecessary hardship to make our people jettison Biafra freedom. How wicked!

“Again, every one has his or her rights to go and collect his or her PVC from their pooling and registration centre without molestations. IPOB never boycott election and has nothing to do with Nigeria shambolic elections.

“Our people should be prepared and ready to confront any fool who dares to enforce such wicked sit-at-home. Moreso, ESN operatives and IPOB volunteers will be out on these dates to protect our people and the markets.

“Biafran youths should also be ready to confront anybody who comes to force them to close their businesses on these days.

“The miscreants who are issuing this brazen sit at home order should know that IPOB leadership has never authorised anyone to issue order of such magnitude in Biafraland, therefore, it will not work out for them.

“Our people should go to their businesses without fear. IPOB has put the agendists and their foot soldiers in Biafra land on check. Biafra restoration is moving well and we must exit this cage called Nigeria by the grace of Elohim.”

Amongst the numerous concluded cases by the Centre, is a case of unlawful access to a computer network and manipulation of a point of sale (POS) network to defraud the unsuspecting owner of the total sum of Sixteen Million, One Hundred and Forty-Nine Thousand, One Hundred and Ninety-Five (N16,149,195.00) only by all-male trio of Sanmi Ayodeji, Felix Oluwaseun, and Adeleye Oluwaseun, aged 29, 24, and 32 years respectfully.

The suspects signed up on a POS platform known as Tmoni Technologies Company using their Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) and those of their friends and relatives without their consent. The suspects were eventually arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, by operatives of the NPF National Cybercrime Centre, after an official complaint was lodged by the financial controller of the Tmoni platform.
