Politics › We Will Vote Edeoga Out In Four Years, If He Fails Us - Kenneth Okonkwo by envoymedia(op): 10:33pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
Spokesperson of Labour Party's presidential campaign, Kenneth Okonkwo has stated that the people of Enugu will vote out Labour Party's gubernatorial candidate in the state, Chijioke Edeoga, if he fails to perform after four years, IGBERETV reports. Okonkwo urged Enugu people to vote Chijioke Edeoga and other political candidates of Labour party in Enugu State. Okonkwo wrote on his Twitter handle; "MOMENT OF TRUTH IN ENUGU STATE I come to people of Enugu State in peace. I owe you the truth as your Servant. Let me admit that there is no Saint among all the candidates for Governor in Enugu State. None of them can exonerate himself from the ignoble past of the negative influence of the Ebeano politics in Enugu State.
"Ebeano is all about power and money. They are producers of death and corruption. After witnessing how PDP organised its gubernatorial primary in Enugu and saw how the ticket was bought and sold to the highest bidder
"I remembered how our principal Peter Obi witnessed the same thing in PDP national convention and refused to participate in it but rather left for Labour Party for a new Nigeria. After also seeing how PDP as a party treated the South-East which gave them 100% support for 20 years but turned round when they should support the presidential aspiration of South-East to tell us that we are not qualified to be President or Vice President in Nigeria, I felt that no reasonable person from the South-East should ever support anything PDP until such insult is remedied.
"We cannot empower a party that calls us nobodies. APGA in South-East is even more dangerous for the South-East than PDP because Gov Soludo is the leader of APGA now. You can imagine empowering a party in Enugu which doesn't believe that a person from the South-East should be President of Nigeria. The cock of APGA has been killed by unknown gunmen in the South-East. This will not help us realise our presidential mandate given to Peter Obi.
"The Labour Party is the only pathway for the realisation of the presidential mandate given to Peter Obi. Chijioke Edeoga made a wise decision by coming under the canopy of this new trend to a new Nigeria. He has a mentor in Peter Obi that will help shape him in line with the needed character, capacity and competence in any area he needs it.
"I am endorsing Chijioke Edeoga looking at the future of our people not the past. PDP and APGA have failed us. Time to try a new direction has come. Vote Chijioke Edeoga of Labour Party for a new Enugu State. We will vote him out in four years if he fails us. God bless NdiEnugu. Seun Kuti, the youngest son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, stated that any supporter of former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, must end up in hell, IGBERETV reports.
Seun said this during an Instagram live session. He lamented the exploitation of natural resources for personal gains by Nigerian leaders and the Europeans. He said that Obasanjo’s administration recorded the worst cases.
He said: “They sell our oil, things that belong to us. Especially during Obasanjo’s regime.
”Obasanjo is so wicked. Any Nigerian that will praise Obasanjo for any reason will go to hell. You must go to hell because you have shown that you are beyond salvation.
"Whatever Obasanjo does in this country, and you support it, you don’t respect Africa. You are against Africa. And the atrocities of whatever forms that Africans have gone through have no bearing on your emotions as long as your own interests are served, you are an oppressor.” https://www.instagram.com/p/Cpj7oypKIgQ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Politics › Gbadebo Recounts How Gunshots Were Fired At His Campaign Train In Epe, Lagos by envoymedia(op): 11:59am On Mar 12, 2023 |
The Labour party governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has confirmed reports that there was a gunshot incident during his campaign in the Epe area of Lagos state on Saturday, March 11, IGBERETV reports.
He made the confirmation after it was reported on Saturday that gunshots were fired at his campaign train in the Epe area of the state.
In an interview with Arise TV this morning, Gbadebo said he was in the community to campaign when some men who were wearing a political party's campaign shirts obstructed their movement. He said the timely intervention of the police and the DSS who were on his train helped to prevent the incident from escalating.
He said;
‘’There have been lots of threats. We have gotten a lot of intel about potential assassination attempts on my life. Yes it happened in Epe. We had Honorable Wale Oluwo with us and we also hand Honorable Najid of the PDP working with us and they were also shot at in Epe yesterday.
There was a lot of anger amongst the APC youths that were there because these people were wearing greater rising T-shirts so we are not speculating, they were APC.
The idea is we need to move away fom this agberocracy that Lagos state has come to be defined as where it is about violence and vitrol and anger and suppression and intimidation . If you do your job, you shouldn't have to intimidate people''
On how the incident happened, Gbadebo said
‘’As our convoy was moving, a lot of young men came out and tried to block the road and we couldn't go in. We had a lot of force with us in terms of the police and it was very important that we did not show any force because what will then happen as they are trying to propangadize a Gbadebo to a Chinedu, they will now say I came in there and I tried to take over Epe and I am using guns. We had the police go in there and try to allay everything. The DSS was also very helpful in trying to neutralize the situation. They did shoot at us and they did try to intimidate us'' https://igberetvnews.com/1440587/gbadebo-recounts-gunshots-fired-campaign-train-epe-lagos/

Senator Shehu Sani has likened the relationship between Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike and the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, to that of a man who is trying to be nice to a lady who he jilted with the aim of still being in a good relationship with her, IGBERETV reports. On Saturday, March 11, Wike praised Obi and described him as being the Hero of the 2023 presidential election. Wike said Obi's participation ensured that power was not retained in the North. In an apparent reaction to Governor Wike's comment, Senator Sani wrote, “Wike and Peter. Omoseyin was arrested by operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Fraud Related Offences Commission, ICPC, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 along Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, and was handed over to the EFCC for investigation. The 31-year-old was arrested after the video of her spraying and stepping on the newly redesigned Naira notes at a party surfaced online. Omoseyin was arraigned in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Omoseyin before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke on a two-count charge brought against her.
One of the count reads,
