Politics / Court Orders Interim Forfeiture Of Saraki’s #1bn Houses by Enzorazor: 7:27am On Dec 03, 2019
Following Senator Bukola Saraki’s end to his years of reign as a Senator from Kwara state and former Senate President of the 8th Assembly, as an opposition party member, it was already a decided faith that he would face financial investigations.

Senator Bukola Saraki according to reports is set to forfeit his #1 billion houses in Ilorin, Kwara state. This is as ordered by a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.

As reported by dailytrust, a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has ordered an interim forfeiture of two houses in Ilorin, Kwara State belonging to the immediate past Senate President, Bukola Saraki. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had approached the court presided over by Justice Ridwan Aikawa, for an order of interim forfeiture of the properties said to worth about N 1 billion on the ground that it was acquired through the proceeds of unlawful activity.

The anti-graft agency told the court in an exparte application that it ‘‘uncovered monumental fraud perpetrated in the treasury of the Kwara State Government between 2003 and 2011’’, when Saraki was governor of the state.

Based on the application, the court ordered the temporary forfeiture of Saraki’s two properties designated as Plots No. 10 and No. 11 Abdulkadir Road, GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The matter has been adjourned till December 17, 2019 by Justice Ridwan Aikawa for further proceedings.

Celebrities / Re: Christmas: Tonto Dikeh Set To Show Love To 10,000 Less Privileged by Enzorazor: 1:43pm On Dec 02, 2019
Olusharp:
Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh via her foundation is set to feed 10,000 people in Abuja during the yuletide period.

Tonto Dike in a statement with Ngg.ng said,
The festive season of Christmas is around the corner and it’s a time to spread love and positivity to our family and friends, but more than this, it should be a time that we also show love to the less privileged and physically challenged who in most cases have nobody to make them experience what love is.

Looking around, I see a lot of less privileged people and physically challenged, and I am always moved to give because true wealth is not all you have acquired for yourself, it’s how much of you that you deposit in others. God has blessed us to be a blessing; He has manifested his love to us so we’d be an epitome of love to the needy, physically challenged and those with special needs. God is trusting on us to help them, and that’s why Jesus likened himself to the poor, needy, and physically challenged amongst us, and when we fail to show them love, we practically fail to show Jesus love.
For this reason, THE TONTO DIKEH FOUNDATION has organized a Christmas/New Year Carnival Celebration for internally displaced persons, physically challenged, and less privileged in Abuja.

It is themed: “10,000 smiles for Christmas.” We’d be giving out 400 wheelchairs, 300 canes for the blind, 400 party packs for kids, 300 bags of rice and provisions, etc.
The event will take place on 15th of December 2019 12 Noon at Jabi Lake Abuja,
The goal is that while we merry, the needy, less privileged and physically challenged will also have a reason to smile, and it’s so beautiful being the reason why they should smile.

Everyone deserves to be loved. @t_d_foundation #10,000SMILESFORCHRISTMAS

Politics / Ayuba Gora’s Statement On Using Google Map While Driving As An Offense, Frsc Cla by Enzorazor: 10:07am On Nov 28, 2019
AYUBA GORA’S STATEMENT ON USING GOOGLE MAP WHILE DRIVING AS AN OFFENSE, FRSC CLARIFIES SAYS HE WAS MISQUOTED

Yesterday, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the federal capital territory (FCT), Ayuba Gora, said driving with the aid of Google map is a serious traffic offence.

He made this information known while speaking at the inauguration of the “2019 Ember Months Campaign” by Lugbe unit command of the FRSC in Abuja on Wednesday.

This statement by the FCT sector commander has caused a lot of rancour and misunderstanding in the Nigerian society.

The Federal Road Safety Corps through it twitter social handle @FRSCNigeria has come out to say that Ayuba Gora was misquoted and misunderstood as disseminated on various social media and newspaper platforms.

Read FRSC True Position on the use of Google Map while Driving:

“Corps Commander Wobin Ayuba Gora was quoted out of context on the use of google map app while driving, during the 2019 ‘Ember Months’ flag off held in Lugbe, FCT on Wednesday.

“According to the writer, the FCT Sector Commander while delivering his ember months address stated that driving with the aid of Google map using mobile phone is a serious traffic offence. The Corps wishes to state that the Sector Commander must have been misquoted and his statement outrightly misrepresented because the Federal Road Safety Corps as a technology driven organisation is not and has never stood against the use of google map by motorists. To state the obvious,we have always enlightened the public on the position of the law on use of phone while driving which the Sector Commander tried to emphasize during the flag off. The statement he made during the flag off buttresses the position of the Corps, which is that any driver who intends to deploy the use of Google map while driving must have it set on the phone before embarking on the journey, not while the vehicle is already in motion as this could be dangerous to the driver and other road users, and can lead to road traffic crash. We say this because, available records have shown that use of phone for whatever purpose; be it text, voice calls, chats, browsing, setting google map to find location etc while driving could be distractive and can easily lead to loss of concentration. This has led to many road traffic crashes with attendant loss of lives and properties.”

“On the strength of this, the Federal Road Safety Corps wishes to reiterate its position on use of phone while driving as a dangerous and hazardous road traffic behaviour which has led to unwanted and avoidable road crashes.”

“We therefore call on all motorists who intend to deploy the use of google map on their phone especially during the festive season when traffic density is high, to activate such before setting the vehicle in motion so as to ensure 100 percent concentration on the wheels.”

“Road Safety is State of Mind, Road Traffic Crash is Absence of Mind. Stay Alert, Stay Alive! FRSC Cares for Your Safety.”

Politics / Sowore Rejects Apostle Suleman’s Bail Offer by Enzorazor: 12:01am On Nov 05, 2019
Activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore who has been detained by the federal government on account of his bouched Revolution Now protest, has rejected the offer made by President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, to stand as surety.

Recall that ngg.ng reported earlier that the clergyman has said that he was considering standing as surety for Sowore even though Sowore had hurt him in the past. Read more here.

The legal team of Sowore, speaking through his lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, told newsmen that Suleman’s offer would not be considered because he was not eligible to stand surety for the detained activist as the court was clear that the surety must be resident in Abuja.

Effiong said Suleman’s offer cannot be considered nor accepted, adding that Suleman and Sowore had once had a public altercation, as a result, there is conflict of interest.

“So, we are turning it down and we are not even considering it. The way the Federal Government politicised the matter, made it difficult for the bail conditions to be met. But we are in the process of perfecting the bail“

Sowore had in a report published through his platform, accused Suleman of engaging in extra-marital affairs with a woman known as Stephanie Otobo.

The activist, who is the Convener of #RevolutionNow, was arrested by the Department of State Services on August 2, 2019, for allegedly trying to overthrow the President Muhammadu Buhari government.

The activist, who was the Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, has remained in the custody of the DSS ever since.

Politics / What Next For Atiku? By Emmanuel Oladesu, Deputy Editor, The Nation Newspaper by Enzorazor: 10:29am On Oct 31, 2019
After five futile attempts, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s bid for President suffered another defeat yesterday. The Supreme Court ruled his appeal as lacking merit. What next for the Waziri Adamawa? Deputy Editor Emmanuel Oladesu examines the political career of the eminent politician, his battles and his camps’ projections for the future

He came, he saw, but he could not conquer on the slippery political field. A long distant runner, he failed to breast the tape. Both at the level of ballot box and the temple of justice, his ambition to rule the country finally clashed – at least for now. What next for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Waziri Adamawa and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the February 23 presidential election?

A major tragedy has befallen the main opposition party. Since 2015, it has been left in the cold. The party and its leadership appear to be politically maladjusted. It has not done well as a federal opposition party. Now that it has failed to bounce back through the judicial process, what is its next agenda?

Atiku has been the party’s main hope for this season. His defeat is therefore, a major setback despite PDP’s successes during the last governorship polls.

At the historic PDP convention held at the Adokie Amiesimeka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, almost two years ago, Atiku dwarfed his rivals. He had 1,537 delegate votes, beating Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who got 693 votes. Atiku peeped into the future with optimism. The bid for the presidential ticket was not a child’s play. He triumphed.

The former vice president also mended fences with old detractors. He was made to visit the United States to prove that the country had nothing against him. His former boss, oppressor and tormentor, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, became his chief image launder, sponsor, promoter and grand campaign manager.

Money was not Atiku’s problem. He deployed his resources and held a largely successful nation- wide campaign. Obasanjo’s letter was to prepare the ground. On the podium, the PDP candidate promised an alternative route to good governance. But, there was no display of ideological superiority.

However, the general election was a greater hurdle. There was a huge gap between expectation and reality. Atiku had a high expectation. It was the tonic that sustained him during the electioneering. But, voters disappointed him, as it were. According to the Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, who was the Chief Returning Officer, President Buhari got 15,191,847 votes while Atiku got 11, 262, 978 votes.

Atiku cried foul. He refused to concede defeat to his more formidable opponent, President Muhammadu Buhari. Having rejected the umpire’s verdict, the battle shifted to the court. At the tribunal, he failed to get victory, despite his counsel’s frantic efforts. Yesterday, the apex court also rejected his major prayer. It was final.

Atiku is a courageous politician endowed with audacity of hope, which has served as the elixir of political life

Between 1991 and now, he had contested five times for the presidential ticket on different platforms. Yet, the driver’s seat has always eluded him.

Atiku’s political life is full of ups and downs. But, his ability to quickly put the past behind him, strive to rise after each electoral fall and forge ahead with optimism underscores a sort of “audacity of hope.”

During the election, be called for power shift as the APC pushed for continuity.

Both party fired salvos. In the last 19 years of stable civil rule, many gladiators from both sides have cohabitated during the alignment and re-alignment of forces. They are not oblivious of their strengths and weaknesses. All these were exploited by the two parties.

It was Atiku’s fifth attempt at the presidency. At 73, he is not a young man. Many thought that time was running out. Yet, for him, the attainment of the presidency is a critical factor in self-actualisation.

In the aborted Third Republic, Atiku challenged the late Moshood Abiola to a duel at the historic Jos convention of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP). According to observers, he was running for the highest office by proxy. The main issue at that time was his political mentor, the late Gen. Shehu Yar’Adua, who later asked him to step down for Abiola during that tensed moment of horse trading, wheeling and dealing.

Having placed his hands on the plough, Atiku has not looked back. Although he was elected governor of Adamawa State, fate catapulted him to the position of number two citizen at the federal level.

His second attempt was in 2003 when he made a feeble attempt to contest against Obasanjo. Atiku was said to have the backing of many governors, including Orji Kalu (Abia) and James Ibori (Delta). It was a risky venture. The president was said to have knelt down for his deputy as he implored him to opt out of the race. If he had contested at the convention, may be, he would have won the ticket. That episode marked the parting of ways between the former numbers one and two citizens.

Henceforth, the presidency and the PDP became hot for him. He was de-robed as deputy president. He became a proper spare tyre. Even, an administrative panel headed by Mallam Nasir el- Rufai indicted him. He was in court six times fighting the threat to his ambition.

When he defected from the PDP in 2007, he sought refuge in the defunct Action Congress (AC). He ran for the president, but without success. He was defeated by the younger brother of his mentor, the late President Umaru Yar’Adua. Atiku’s runnning mate was Senator Ben Obi.

After the unsuccessful attempt, he retraced his steps to the PDP. Later, Obi followed suit. The AC family felt betrayed. They complained that he jumped ship without informing party leaders. He lost the confidence of a political family that tried to salvage his career when the hand of Obassnjo was heavy on him.

In 2011, Atiku threw his hat into the ring again. At the regional selection process, he defeated former President Ibrahim Babangida. But, he could not cross the next hurdle. At the PDP primary in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), he was defeated by President Goodluck Jonathan, who had the backing of Obasanjo, the political coach-in-chief.

A serial defector, Atiku later left for the APC after the formation of the party by the legacy platforms – the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), the Congres for Progressive Change (CPC), a faction of the PDP and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). During the 2015 primary, he contested along with President Buhari, Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and Sam Nda Isaiah, publisher of Leadership newspaper. He came third, trailing Kwakwanso. Gen. Buhari was elected as candidate.

Two years ago, the former vice president parted way with the APC. His foes chided him for impatience and political harlotry. He unfolded his presidential ambition, thereby drawing attention to himself as an opposition leader. By the time he returned to the PDP, he had revived his old structures and networks across the six geo-political zones.

To warm himself to the politically conscious and highly enlightened people of the Southwest, he campaigned to them on the borrowed platform of restructuring. His campaign manager was former Ogun State Governor Gbenga Daniel. But, already a household name in Nigeria, Atiku needed no introduction.

The eminent politician displayed a wider experience mobilisation during the primary and general election. His ambition polarised the polity. He succeeded in moderating the public perception of his personality and Political career. He maintained that he has never been tried and convicted for corruption.

What also worked for Atiku during the poll was that he had tentacles across the zones. He gave a good fight.

Party elders from the Southwest confided that Atiku will not go into oblivion. “We will draft him to the 2023 race,” said a party elder and former minister from Osun State, who added: “PDP will still zone the presidential ticket to the North.”

Many supporters doubted that Atiku will be discouraged by the verdict. According to them, he has a great deal of resilience. They believe that he will return to the drawing board. Others said the belief in the prediction of marabouts has not waned. But, if he contests, he will be challenged by other formidable aspirants during the shadow poll.

The PDP cannot be ruled out in the scheme of things. Although it has lot federal power, it has governors in more than 16 states.

As from today, Atiku can play the role of an “opposition leader.” The onus is on him to unite the main opposition party, ahead of future elections.

By 2023, the former vice president will be 77. Will he run or sponsor a candidate? Time will tell.

Politics / Ibrd/world Bank To Assist Nigeria To Increase Igr by Enzorazor: 7:50pm On Oct 29, 2019
The World Bank has pledged its support towards assisting Nigeria to increase its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to address poverty and service delivery by government.

World Bank Country Director in Nigeria, Mr Shubham Chaudhuri, made the pledged at the opening of a Peer Learning Event organised by the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) on Tuesday in Abuja.

Chaudhuri said one of the things that surprised him when he assumed office in Nigeria was the country’s low level of revenue to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), put at eight per cent.

According to him, this is small compared with the number obtainable in South and East Asia.

It is on this ground that the World Apex banks has pledged to support and assist Nigeria towards increasing her Internally Generated Revenue, so that Nigeria can compete favourably with other great countries of the world.

Politics / FG Set To Regulate Social Media by Enzorazor: 2:19pm On Oct 29, 2019
This development was made known by Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture at press conference in Abuja.

The Minster made this known when he said that, '' no responsible government would sit back and allow such activities capable of setting the country on fire to continue unchecked.

In Lai Mohammed's words, "I think It has reached a level that the government may just no longer fold its arms and allow this to continue," he stated.

Therefore, there is no amount of criticism that can stop the President Muhammadu Buhari's reign from implementing tougher sanctions for broadcast stations that violate the broadcast code.

He further said that people should not misunderstand the president's stand on this issue, because the president is trying to install sanity in the social media platforms, which in no way will affect 'responsible journalism'.

Romance / Re: Women With 8 Inch Long Clitoris Can Now Be Regarded As Men, Abuja Court Rules by Enzorazor: 7:19pm On Oct 28, 2019
[quote author=Enzorazor post=83539059]There was wild jubilation in Abuja, on Monday, October 28, following a Supreme court of Nigeria ruling over a very controversial ruling, declaring that all women with clitorises longer than 7,5 centimetres (3 inches) can now be legally considered as men.

The five-member Supreme Court panel, led by Mary Odili, unanimous decided that 36-year old Isioma Adeyemi’s request was “perfectly sound and legitimate”, ordering that her legal status be changed immediately.

Ms. Adeyemi celebrated her victory which puts an end to a 7-year legal battle for the woman with an exceptionally large clitoris.“This is the greatest day of my life! My first husband repudiated me because my clitoris was bigger than his penis, now I finally get some kind of justice.”

Ms. Inna Shevchenko, leader of The radical feminist exhibitionist group Femen, describes the ruling as “a great advancement for African women in general”. A small number of women just obtained a great boost in their legal status and are now in a position to help their peers. It’s a great day for women!”

Under Nigerian law, Ms. Adeyemi can now own land, have several wives, work at night, and can no longer be legally beaten to the level of “grievous hurt” by her husband or male relatives.

According to governmental experts, over 600 other Nigerian women have sufficiently big clitorises to apply for a change to their legal status. Nigeria is only the second country in the world to offer women with large clitorises the option of being legally considered as men.

Uganda offers the same choice to all women with clitorises longer than 5 centimetres (2 inches). Only 11 women have legally changed their status to men since the law was passed in 2011.

Politics / Southerners Are The Problems Of The South, Not Northerners - FFK by Enzorazor: 1:12pm On Oct 19, 2019
Mr Femi Fani-Kayode popularly known as FFK made it known to Nigerians today, that the Southerners should stop blaming the fulanis or northerners for our political bondage but that they should blame themselves.

Mr Fani-Kayode, according to the former Minister of Aviation, ''the greatest enemy of the south are not the northerners but southern cowardice, duplicity, greed, insincerity, treachery and betrayal. When we blame the Fulani for everything we diminish ourselves. How can an ethnic group that constitutes only 7% of the population wield.''

''so much power and control over our affairs if not for the fact that we continue to betray one another and sell ourselves short to them? We should not blame the north for our bondage, we should blame ourselves. Every great liberation fighter and visionary leader from the south and the Middle Belt in the history of our country was betrayed and sacrificed by his fellow southerners and Middle Belters and sold to the north. The people of the north did not do us in: we did ourselves in.''

Mr FFK concluded by saying that until the Southerners are strongly united with full confidence of trusts, honest and fidelity in one another, that we will keep been in bondage thereby, allow the north to keep ruling us.
