Na GTB & Access I pity pass. The era of having too many physical branches is over. I can see that GTB is offloading many of their ATM branches. Imagine...GTB has two/threee baranches in a street. There are 2 in Bode Thomas Lagos....and I have been wondering what is wrong with them to have not offloaded one. The idea was ok like 10 years ago that they had them both, but its wasteful now. The last time I went to a banking hall....heaven knows. Lol.

The era of employing staff inside many physical buildings is over. They need to start reducing that heavy cost of paying high rent, paying so much power for a whole building including AC and many computers instead of powering mainly their online gadgets which can fit a small hall with max of 5 people working there, etc.

And most people working in banks should start looking for jobs elsewhere. But many wont till they are sacked. The signal is so bright now. They won't act fast. If you can japa, you better. If you will go clean elderly people's yansh elsewhere, you better... else, you will lose your job soon. Except you quickly learn skills needed to operate online banking and cross-border payments.

What I am seeing here is that Access has spent too much money acquiring assets that are choking them now. The days the more physical banking branches you have is over...but Access accumulated more even overseas because they wanted to expand when the world was just getting to abandon it. The blunder lies with the board that didnt know what was going to happen next. But its not too late to quickly adjust...they wont do it cos. Lol. Ignorant board.

Mainwhile Opay and its likes are using a very tiny fraction of the amount Access spent to move at a very high speed. So, how will Access offload all the unnecessary acquired assets should be their goals. But trust corruption. The directors gaining from collecting huge amount from annual rents cos they are the ones who arranged the deals (most are even owners but would always front someone else) will not let Access off the hook until they kill it finally.

Personally, GTB is off my radar. That bank used to be my love, but I am done with it. The only reason anyone should keep large sum of money in any bank is because of a good business relationship with the bank. Anything outside that, you are one losing. If you arent getting loans, grants from govt, or contracts that mandate you to use these big for nothing banks, you are your own trouble. I have many of these traditional banks ooo. The days naira/dollar cards showed us pepper that one has to keep changing cards...mehn. UBA, GTB, old Diamond, Union, Eco...etc. ...and when Emewerey started his own...had to get cards from banks I wouldnt use on normal conditions, but just cos they are near me and I wanted to use their ATMs...went go to A, no money, move to B...no money, to C....by the time I tried 6 ATMs of different banks in my area and no money....then....the last option used to be POS. Lol. But now, N5, N100, N1,000, bla bla bla remained in most of these banks. Only one of them is functioning well with even less than N100k. Just for cash flow. As bulk money enters, I quicky pay most of my bills sharply....balance drops to less than N20k most times. Thats for airtime and urgent "small small" billings here and there. Anything huge comes around and I need to move it through these traditional banks, I know what to do to move money there again. Within a week, N10M can drop to N300k. Lol. Na me go allow these ones dey use my money make more for themselves and even insult me on top, when I can use my money well somewhere else.

From the day I was born till now, I know Nigeria for these things:

1. When we focus on an issue, we over do it.
2. Corruption always eventually destroys the many years work of honest people.
3. Corruption does nothing initial anything, but looks for opportunities in well arranged businesses.
4. Corruption is a trojan horse used by the powers governing Nigeria to remain in power.
