The only difference is that they didn't conceed stupid and unnecessary goals during their title run. Especially the ones from individual errors
Two goals was quite enough to win any game if the backline knows what they are doing.
We can't continue to ship in 2 or 3 goals every game and expect to challenge for shit that way.

My only happiness is that we will get better with more understanding at the back , because personnel is not the problem.

For once they need to sort out set piece defending. Sorting that out will reduce our goals conceeded by 20 Percent. Then if the cut out stupid errors as well as occasional lapse in concentration, then we will be good to go

also Ole cannot drop Maguire to try out a new partnership because he's the current captain and cost a lot of money, there's always some window for politics but perhaps he can do that next season. so it's not as straight forward as where you'd have loved to place the blame.
we can only hope individual players' keep their concentration for the entire 90 mins because a lot of goals we've conceded, even last season, has individual errors on an insanely worrying percentage.

I don't know and personally I don't much care about a player not in my team. I see them as shiny objects.

As for our defenders, I believe some of them are brilliant individually. Take AWB for example.

But they need to work as a unit.

Now the duty rests on OGS' shoulder to instill the spirit of togetherness in them.

If care isn't taken, that defence might cost us top 4. No jokes!

The current crops of defenders at united are average at best especially as a unit.

Once again it’s a mixture. The fact is they have conceded less goals than us so they are defending better than we are. You cannot attribute it to a single thing.

Maybe u are right and maybe u are not. But I know that "hop" penalty technique won't get u the goal against a keeper that is calm and calculated.

Take a look at at Lacazzette's penalty and compare to Jorginho's own. Lacazzette already picked his angle and was going to hit it hard irrespective of whether the keeper decides to guess his choice of angle correctly or not. Jorginho's technique is poor; relying on the fact that the keeper will misjudge ur choice of angle and then u play a weak penalty that lacks power.

Penalty is luck but the best penalty takers pick their angle and either place the ball well or play a powerful shot that makes it difficult for keepers to save it
