money121: In a very long letter to his new born daughter yesterday, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan pledged to donate 99% of his Facebook share currently worth about $45billion to the work of their charitable foundation in her honour. Mark wrote;
As you begin the next generation of the Chan Zuckerberg family, we also begin the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to join people across the world to advance human potential and promote equality for all children in the next generation. Our initial areas of focus will be personalized learning, curing disease, connecting people and building strong communities. We will give 99% of our Facebook shares -- currently about $45 billion -- during our lives to advance this mission. We know this is a small contribution compared to all the resources and talents of those already working on these issues. But we want to do what we can, working alongside many others.

Romance › Re: Keeping A Good Man Is Easy If Its Not Always About You by Ephemmm: 2:59pm On Dec 01, 2015 |
Mzflexydeeva: A good man is hard to find whether you agree or not. The definition of a good man varies for each individual but a general definition of a good man encompasses facts like - nice - understanding -money spender -lover -detailed planer -a friend The list continues. Ladies, it is good we acknowledge the fact that a guy is good not because he wants to please us but because he is naturally good. It would be very unwise for a lady to feel she is "too much" simply because a guy is good to her and cares for her.
Now let's address the main issue. Why do ladies always feel they are the ones who always need taking out?
Why do ladies always think its their right when a guy pays for their hair and stuffs like that?
At what point will ladies realise that guys too want to be pampered?
What stops you as a lady from paying after your date?
I don't think a guy would reject you surprising him with some pairs of shoe.
You don't have to wait till its his birthday to get him a gift or surprise him. As much as ladies love to be called sweet names the men too like it. Let him wake up to an epistle of your love for him. Make him as happy as you want to be.
You can't always be the one receiving the compliment every time. Tell him how lucky you are to have him. Let him know how much you love him. Help him feed his ego so you are the only one his inner baby understand.
The things you know make him happy do them happily. Don't always wait till he says lets go out before you go out. Sometimes be the one to say darling I'm taking you for a treat.
A man's heart will melt not to the hotness of your temper but to the steam of your pampering. I beg, nairalander, dash me this lady even if she is handicapped: intelligence of a lady is the major key to unlock my padlocked heart. |

Politics › Re: Confusion In Kogi APC As Faleke Insists He’s Governor-Elect by Ephemmm: 11:20am On Dec 01, 2015 |
[quote author=PassingShot post=40569367][s]As desirable as it might be even for APC to field Faleke over Bello, doing so will amount to knowingly handing over the governorship to Wada through the courts because Wada will then have a very strong case against Faleke, on the ground that he didn't go through the primaries as stipulated by the Electoral Act.
Fielding Yahaya Bello has effectively killed Wada's faint hope of gaining the governorship through the court, at least.
And should Faleke even win in court against APC's fielding of Bello, it is still APC that gets the governorship, not PDP.
So, politically and legally speaking, APC has gone with the safest option in Yahaya Bello.[/[/s] quote]
The office of Deputy was constitutionally created to cater for emergencies like this, and the only candidate recognized in the face of law up till now is Audu and Faleke.
As a rule, if the acting principal vacates his office, his deputy steps in: stop displaying your ignorance here: Faleke has a valid case in the court of law if he didn't give up. |

As one Hillux van enter: na so my price jumped from 120 to the normal price all of a sudden As the two men were fast approaching towards my side, I was just hearing 'please na normal price we dey sell here ooo' in a gentle and supplicatory tone.

Mkmachika: To some extent I agree with you, considering your previous contribution to a ''fair play'', and your ability to tell your fellow Christians the truth. I agree with you that Islamic elite of the North use Islam to deceive the Northern masses but where you are wrong is that not all Muslims leaders deceive and Christians leaders are also guilty of deception and commercializing Jesus to amazed wealth.
Kukah you compromise your previous nature of telling the truth as how it is when you bring the issue of forced marriage and kidnapping girls by Boko Haram as part of Islam which is totally lie and you knew it but you say it anyway in your attempt to destroy the Image of Islam.
Kukah what will you say about those Catholics who sleep with male children during former Pope? what will you say about those pastors who constantly rape or have sex with their followers in the name of praying for them?
Keep trying Kukah there is no way you can damage the Image of Islam because Allah promise to protect it and Allah is more powerful than you and your likes, Even the Jesus you people worship is a servant to Allah let alone you. So take care. You like deceiving yourselves. However, the bolded sentence is not a subject of discussion or how has it brought the breeding of Boko Harams? Religious fanatism at its peak is in you. |

At bolded, was the name of his deputy and his party not there too? However, I do not see the reason why you deviate from the subject of discussion: if you want to cry over the last defeat of GEJ in the last election, you are free to open another thread. You are just deficient when it comes to intelligent reasoning. |
Politics › Re: Wada: I Won The Poll, Audu’s Votes Died With Him by Ephemmm: 10:50am On Nov 30, 2015 |
Acidosis: Wada has a point. Failure of the 1st should ordinarily translate to crowing the second.
As far as the election is concerned, Wada holds the second position of all the over 15 participant in the election.
Let's all learn to apply both constitutional wisdom and commonsense.
I personally do not want WADA to rule for another 4 years, but frankly, he has a good case.
If Wada and Audu had died, we'd gladly call on the third leading candidate/party, AD or Labour Party.
I've also learned not to make critical decisions based on NAIRALAND posts. Wada still has an overwhelming support from the people of KOGI. Majority of the Kogi Civil Servants preferred Wada to Audu. Audu only defeated with a small margin.
In as much as I dis-love his style of leadership, his case is very tenable and let's stop making senseless comments about his decision to prove his case. No section of Nigerian constitution gives room for independent candidate during election in Nigeria: stop displaying your ignorance here dude. However, the death of a candidate cannot affect the continuity of a party; this is one of the major reasons for which the office of Deputy is constitutionally created whether at Federal, state or Local level. Despite the fact that Amaechi was not presented as the party's flag-bearer during election, no election was re-conducted before he was sworn in as the Governor: the mandate which he didn't work for. At the end, the court held that electorate's vote belong to the party, but not its flag-bearer during election. Commonsense without legal backing is nothing in a sane society: it will be credible enough if you can learn to legalize your commonsense please. |

Did you see Audu/Wada's name on ballot paper on the day of election?
