Romance › Re: An Adult In A Teenager's Body. Way To Go? by Ephemmm: 6:18pm On Nov 27, 2015
mayim:
The real intent behind opening this thread is purely selfless, A little lengthy but I need you advise on this one please. I am a young man in my late twenties but trust me when I say I get mistaken for a teenager, people while trying to console you say ‘oh, you will enjoy it when you are about 50 and above’. I have very embarrassing encounters at least once every week, when strangers are just so disrespectful to you thinking you are some kid, well, once I talk for about 2 minutes, they are speechless cos yes, I am really intelligent and talk my age, suffice it to add that I am a practicing accountant, graduated from the university about 4 years ago. Like I said the intention behind opening this thread is selfless, it’s my fiancée, it worries me how she feels when someone disrespects me in front of her, I always stand up for myself anyway, but I can’t imagine how embarrassed she’d feel. I was driving with her by my side to the mall one afternoon and got pulled over by the police, One of the policemen yelled at me ‘you this small boy, na because you carry woman, u no wun stop ya car abi’… I was mad like wanted to bitch slap the dude, I calmed down and reported him to his colleague who apologized on his behalf, I later called him too and rebuked him, seeing the confidence I showed, he denied it , said he never said such.(that felt good, at least my fiancée was listening…lol) To cap it all up, I have learned to live with this cos it’s been on since like forever. But my woman, it bothers me. She claims she has learned to live with it too, but truth us I keep thinking, what if she’s just trying to not get me worried or it bothers her for real and could be consequential on our relationship. What’s your take on this guys? Helpful comments from mature minds only please.
How you get affected by what people think or say about you instead of what you think or say about yourself at your age is very astonishing.

Politics › Re: The Danger Of Allowing APC Nominate Another Candidate by Ephemmm: 9:28am On Nov 27, 2015
futureniyi:
Without further deliberations on the matter, I will get to my point.

There's looming danger in allowing APC select another candidate to inherit the votes of Audu.

Amongst other things this means INEC has granted APC the power of the people - the power to select a governor.

This is contradictory to the principles of democracy & it will create a loophole that could lead to increase in political assainations

For instance, A party can bring forward a candidate the electorate love, assassinate him before election results are declared & impose a tyrant as governor.

I am not a lawyer but I believe the best solution for democracy is to conduct another fresh election.

This solution might not favor APC, but it's the best democratic solution; as it allows people to once again vote for the best available candidate.

You mean GEJ killed his principal shey? Agony of a looser
. For your information, the office of Deputy was created to cater for emergencies like this: any contestant does not only has every right to protect himself, but to also try as much as he can to get a confidant he believes in.

i don't know if u really understand what u write. When did the AGF become the court. Which two parties r u talking about? The pdp, wada & APC,candidate? In cases like this, how does it concern the AGF? Ofcourse, the AGF can't b representing INEC because they r independent body. Deputy officers, federal or state abi, so the question now is how do APC flag bearer become federal officer or state like u mentioned when result haven't be pronounced by INEC? Party is so different from government activities, u need to know the extinction btw them.
From my observation, it is evident you don't know the principle of separation of power between the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary. The only arm of government saddled with the responsibility of interpretation of law and policies is Judiciary, and this is where AGF is being categorized. AGF do not belong to Legislative arm: please stop displaying your ignorance further.

Nigerian constitution and INEC recognized Audu and his Deputy as contestant: the death of either of them CANNOT invalidate the votes they command from electorates.

You need to grow up.

This is one of the reasons i have not taken the opposition party PDP seriously.
Most of the economic backslashes we are experiencing now was inherited. The opposition will be quick to point out how bad our economy has degenerated forgetting that some of us are more intelligent and reasonable to know that the economy of a nation does not start crashing in a matter of months. It is a build up of failed policies and programmes cluelessly initiated or poorly implemented.
They're always quick to point to the positives of this present administration as a programme conceived and initiated by the GEJ but will distance themselves from the mess they created. What a hypocrisy!

excuse me! What office are u talking about? The OFFICE OF A DEPUTY PARTY FLAG BEARER, u ain't serious with that analogy my dear. And how will u stay the AGF av nothing to do with this? We are talking about a clear lacuna that the constitution didn't envisage. If e no concern am, why him advice INEC on what to do? U actually need to take a second line of thought.
Your logic is full of fallacy by even denying what I typed clearly: may be you should go back to my previous post. I told you SGF has nothing to do with this, but remember I told you that SGF can only intervene when parties involved approach the competent court of law?

However, I refers to all Deputy Officers of whether at Federal, state, or local government! INEC recognizes the party registered with him as contestant during election and not as individual personality. It is also ironical that you are so uninformed to the extent that you believe INEC has no legal Unit handling the legal affairs within its jurisdiction.

You need to wake up from your slumber please.

bros, i am also an apc fan like u, bt now i can read inbetween the lines. dos same pdp people and thieves are same pple in the new government so where is the change?. tinubu, ameachi, obj, saraki, and co. dnt b decieved all of them are dsame.
If Tinubu and OBJ are thieves, what stops them from being probed by previous administration despite the fact that they enjoy no immunities coupled with the fact that EFCC, ICPC, SSS, NA etc are within the arsenal of ruling party to try them?

Get me right, I am not here to defend those afore-mentioned parties, but I am trying to show you how negligence the previous administration was, the resultant effect of what we are experiencing now. If GEJ was so serious about anti-corruption campaign at least averagely, things could have been better than this.

For your information, Nigeria witnessed the highest booming in the oil price during the previous administration to the extent that it doubles the what it is obtainable today. The question is what are the resultant effect and how has how economy diversified during this period of excess? How has it increased our reserves to cater for a period of scarcity like this? What made FG to be borrowing money to be borrowing to pay FG workers during the peak period? What lead to 11month strike in Nigeria Universities (longest in Nigeria history)? What infrastructural development were experienced? What lead to deception of job-seekers during immigration exercise? What are the positive effect of external/internal indebtedness? Why can't GEJ pay all the outstanding indebtedness of oil marketers? etc

Though not a politician, but we must admit that things are not moving for the present administration especially with the reduction of oil price to half price of what it was under previous administration. Worst still, countries are discovering more oils daily which made demand so low.

Change is not a magic, it is a gradual process. Let's be patience as I believe PDP have misused their opportunities to turn things around.

God bless Nigeria, my beloved country.

Is it possible the party u claim recognized by law or constitution run an election without a candidate? The AGF is simply playing politics by not approaching the Supreme Court, & ofcourse, I do u change a candidacy during an election process? U can help in answering this questions.
Is it possible for APC to go into an election without a valid candidate? Is it possible for PDP to contest against a ghost before election was duly contested? The worst that can happen is to recognize his deputy as the valid candidate as the office was constitutionally created to caters for the emergencies like this.

For your enlightment, nothing concern AGF on this matter except the case is challenged by the parties involved: judiciary is meant for interpretation of law and you know who is constitutionally empowered when it comes to making law in Nigeria.

Get your fact right.

Amaechi case is TOTALLY different. The elections were concluded and result announced and Certificate of return issued to a PDP candidate. Therefore, once Omehia' candidacy was invalidated, the next candidate was elected. On Audu case, the elections were inconclusive. Assuming it was the LP candidate that died would INEC wait for them to hold another primaries or substitute the candidate? By reason of Audu's death, APC rightly crashed out of the race. The electoral laws does not support any other options other than to return the living candidate with the highest vote.
Which electoral law/section forbid substituting any candidate before, during and after election in Nigeria? You guys are just self-opinionated when it comes to intelligent reasoning.

I made reference to Amaechi because, the court held that electorates votes for parties, not individual: if not, another election could have been conducted before Amaechi could be installed as PDP Governor as at then.

“With the unfortunate death of Prince Abubakar Audu, the APC has no valid candidate in the election, leaving INEC with no other lawful option than to declare the PDP candidate, Capt. Idris Wada, as the winner of the election,” the communiqué said.

tongue tongue tongue Metuh must be high on weed, honestly.

Nigerian constitution gives no room for independent candidate: all candidates vying for any position must come under the platform of a political party. Up till today, the only independent candidate Nigerian would have had was MKO Abiola, who political parties were running after to contest on their platform before he finally choose the one that pleases him in 1993. So, this is the reason why no candidate's name can ever appear on electoral ballot except during the party's primary.

In the same vein, it is also worthy of note that irrespective of the popularity or general acceptability of the candidate in his electoral jurisdiction, party takes the glory. This is what was obtainable in the case of Amaechi in River; Amaechi was brought in as a Governor under PDP after the election has been concluded, whereas he was not the PDP's recognized candidate when the election was conducted.

PDP is fighting a lost battle, in that even if occurrence like this was not made provision for in Nigerian constitution, the fact still remains that he Audu has a valid deputy and a runner-up during the primary election conducted by APC.
