Do not be deceived! There's nowhere in the world where HND and B.Sc compete. HND is a middle man technical degree whereas B.Sc is a managerial theoretical based degree. They both have their uses but a they can never be called equals. Even a 3rd class B.Sc holder stands a better chance of employability into certain firms than HND. Besides HND holders will find it extremely hard to enter into the lecturing profession unlike B.Sc holders. There's no way anyone can say these two certificates are equal. Saying so would yield to delusive thinking.
However, I do agree that HND holders have a better technical know how and stand a much higher chance of employability in practical, on-the-field jobs. However, B.Sc holders will end up being their supervisors. That's the sad truth of this bifurcation.
As for the 2.2 stuff; second class lower division is an average result. Granted, many of them may not stand as much chance as do 2.1 or 1.1 graduates or even given the opportunity to prove themselves, they are still much better than HND lower credit holders.

This is why I will always give respect to my Managing Director. Whether you are 1st Class Bsc holder or Upper Credit HND holder, aptitude and proficiency will reveal everything. Is it everybody that got good grade while in school through their efforts nowadays? I know of a politician who graduated with us while in school without stepping his foot in the school premises. This is Nigeria where anything goes: only few get their certificates in a rightful way.

The last vacancy in my organization was occupied by a HND holder of Federal Polytechnic, Ede who finished with Upper Credit despite the fact that we have more Bsc holders: why all these ranting here and there on nairaland? The truth is that the passion, the determination and willingness efforts a students exerted goes a long way to help them in their career.

It is high time Nigerians employers concentrates on skills acquisition and proficiency instead of 'certificate worshipping'.

Let me shock you,most of the frauds are carried out by insiders in the bank.....but it is funny that whenever fraud activites happen almost everybody is quick to shout "hackers" not knowing that some bank employees are most of the time the ones involved in the act,they give the info to an outsider that will now finalize the job.....have you seen such a situation whereby you walk into a bank,you told the employee at the bank that you want to check your account balance,you gave them your account number they check it they tell you it is 2510680 naira,some few minutes later you deposited 400000 naira into the account,which means 2510680 + 400000 =2910680 meaning that the total amount that will be on your account should be 2910680,you received a credit alert of the 400000 naira you deposited,three days later you checked your account balance what do you see??you saw 2879680..you feel the difference is a lil huge to be ignored unlike the usual missing 500naira every week,,so you decided to go and report to the bank,they told you "oh sir the amount on your account is 2879680",you replied "but before i deposited 400000 to the account my balance was 2510680 they try and convince you that the employee that checked the balance for you before you made the last deposit might have made an error by giving you the wrong figure,if you fall for the "so called explanation"more than 30k don go just like that,but you decided to disagree with the bank and you even stylishly "threatened them"guess what??by the end of the month,you receive the end month balance and guess what you saw??2910680....so how did the account balance suddenly returned to 2910680or it is no longer an error like the bank employee said??yeye dey smell.....

This is the resultant effect of slavery "outsourcing" which banks have embarked upon in this era. At the age of 6months, my niece graduated from breastmilk to Eba and soup. The parents did all thier possible best to feed the child cereals, babyfood, blended fruits, cerelac, soyamilk, etc etc but she simply refused and would throw it all out as soon as it was forced in. When my mom was contacted she said we should try adult foods. Immediately the eba and eggs came to her mouth she gulped it in like a starving Nigerian who has been feeding on white man's pasta for 6months. She ate it and looked up at us like... Na now una come.

This same baby went straight from diaper to potty. During potty training she never messed up the house once but would crawl to the toilet to do her buisness on the floor or in the potty.

Same for bedwetting. She would wake up at night and without crying would start patting whoever was around until the person woke up then she would make them follow her to the toilet to pee.

Nobody taught her to wear her clothes and she has already figured out how to wear the right shoes on the right feet.

My mom says she's our grandma come back. I'm more scientifically inclined though I'm still waiting for an explanation of how she knows to flush the toilet after her when she uses it.
