Dude, you are not alone.

I had a friend that read like a mad man while we were in 300 level because he didn't want to have extra year in the final year. long story short, when results came out he had 7 F's out of 9 courses.

He gave up, mine too wasn't far from his. Infact more than half of the department ended up spilling(extra year). He decided he wasn't going to go ahead with school again and didn't bother writing 400l first semester exams.

God being so merciful, his parents found out, came and begged and they deferred the final year, he came back while we were having our extra year and he still stayed to do his extra year again and he is now a graduate. After 7 years in school.

Which course were we even studying sef? Physics!!

I write this story to tell you few things.

1. School, in Nigeria is very frustrating. Note that I didn't say education. School involves the lecturers, admin and everybody.

2. Finish what you have started, no matter what

3. Am I using the physics? No! I have gone ahead and gained several IT certifications which made me realize I was never dumb in the first place.

4. School will only waste your time, but if you have already begun the journey, my friend finish it.

5. Opportunities will arise with your degree, trust me. Now when you have it, few people will ask you whether you were failing then or not, the obvious is you have it and that alone has set you aside for thousands of privileges.

So, my friend, get up go and beg the lecturers to afford you the opportunity to rewrite your test and try to do all you can to make you a graduate.

Now!

I also know of a law student while at school who sponsored himself to school, during school breaks, he feeds himself and saves for his tuition by joining the construction workers on every site at school. This continued until 400L when he Behan writing(freelancing) he resumed final year with a car and still graduated with a first class!!

Know the most amazing thing? He isn't even using the law degree now. He is a writer, public speaker and IT enthusiast.

Now, what excuse have you?

I hope I have motivated you enough!

Crime / Re: Michael Asiwaju: Twitter Users Reacts After He Committed Suicide Over Rape by EphraimBoat: 4:01pm On Jan 19, 2019
franchasng:
My own personal opinion on this:

The guy didn't commit suicide just because a random lady or ladies accused him of rape, of course rape accusation is common with successful men even in USA, Europe, Asia, etc, so its not new and he is aware of that. Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't committed suicide, neither did Kobe Bryant or David Beckham or Bill Clinton, and even former Israeli serving President.

I am suspecting that guy put his hands in some diabolical things known as "money ritual" and known in Yoruba dialect as "Ogun owo", so the thing must have probably backfired....remember he tweeted that his mother heard the news that he raped a lady and died out of heart attack, how many Nigerian mothers care about such rumors, if its like that, many Nigerian mothers must have died, including the ones whose sons are popular politicians being labelled all sorts of names online and offline....only that guy knows what went wrong but my instinct tells me his hands aren't clean with his financial success.

If he was that feeble minded, he wouldn't even come out online to be bragging and refuting such claims....talk more of taking his own life because of that forgetting about his wealth, his son and all the spark that comes with the little money he has, something is wrong with his ways of making money, go figure out or argue with your mirror undecided

Obvious, you don't have sense!! And you shall not have it. Do you know what it means to be accused of rape? Everyone will raise eyebrows, all your business contacts won't want to be related to a suspected racist.

You compare him with Ronaldo, do you know what that accusation has done to his brand? Ronaldo has had his major sponsors suspend all sorts of endorsement with him till the result of the accusation is known.want to talk of tiger woods that was just "infidelity".

There are people that can't handle some certain things no matter how strong they appear.

Secondly, you involve his mother. Did you know the condition his mum was before she heard the news and gave up? You sit in one corner of ignorance and proudly open your mouth to dish out what you don't know.

No man should involve himself in that which he has little knowledge of, and that involves other people's business too

Some few years back Nov, 2017 to be precise, I talked about going for a certification (MCSA),

However, after some few weeks of self study, I decided I needed help so I enrolled with a training centre for training.

So, I'm done with the mcsa and obtained the certificates.

Anyone interested in the tutorial videos(70-410, 70-411, 70-412), preparatory materials, books and co can contact me.

It will come with a cost though!!

I was just thinking how we have several IT professionals but no community, like guthub, reddit and co for infrastructure guys in Nigeria.

Most times, i encounter challenges and wish i had someone to call and explain to.

Anyways, I have now created a group for IT infrastructure Professionals, if you are any of the above listed professional, get into this WhatsApp Group where we share ideas, thoughts, experience and challenges.

Romance / Re: She Wants To Tie Me Down With Marriage. Should I End My 2-Year-Old Relationship? by EphraimBoat: 11:13am On Jan 04, 2019
Bro, first if you will read this with all sincerity, then imma speak!!

She has done absolutely nothing wrong!! She is just doing the normal thing you would do if you were in love!! Now, most ladies won't even do what she is doing, just this morning, on this same nairaland, I read where a girl wants to break up because her guy got his own mother a car and got her a phone.

If you will be in a relationship, it should be geared towards marriage, at least that's the original idea. You won't blame her for what she is doing, sit her down and ask her for the real reason behind her actions.

If you will break up with her, even if she builds a house for your mother, you will still break up! Just chill!

From all indications, she is a responsible girl trying to get in your good books, ain't nothing wrong with that. If you have a sister and she is with someone for 2 years, you would hope they end up together. You will date other girls and they will outrightly disrespect your mother.

If you want to break up with her, please kindly hand her over to me. Even if we are not committed now, she is the kind of person we will like to end up with when we do!

Cheers

Business / Re: How Old Were You When You Made Your First Million?, And How? by EphraimBoat: 5:44pm On Nov 18, 2018
awelekiti:
Amazing thread...away from politics and sports. Wow! With what I've read so far, I've got no doubts in my mind that nigeria would be ok in a few years to come as predicted. But why did buhari call our youths lazy? He needs to be arrested and prosecuted, seriously.

I made my first millions selling latex to the oil and gas sector at the age of 31. I just woke up one day, thought of what to do to make some money as I was tired of saying 'yes sir' to my employers. I've been making millions working for them but I needed to start making same, working for myself. I started with a proposal to their headquarters in lagos. I was asked to drop samples which I did, then the rest was history. I expanded the supply to pharmacy stores nationwide. As the business was threatened by nafdac on registration with politics from above by somebody who showed interest, I was pulling back gradually. I later entered the health sector with the sale of medical consumables and later major medical equipment from CT to USS, Digital X-ray, equipping hospitals, etc. I became famous in less than 10 years of doing business and recognised by the USA president. I had dined and wined with world leaders, including Barak Obama. I'm meeting Tony Blair in a global entrepreneurs' gathering soon in Washington DC.

Right now, we're planning to start manufacturing of medical equipment , the first of its kind on the African soil. It's a multi million dollar project. The facility constriction is already ongoing , somewhere in ogun state. I wish all the vibrant and upcoming entrepreneurs on this thread the very best. Believe in yourself, trust in God and the rest would be history. God bless Nigeria.

Was it a passerby that took the picture or he and his guys took the picture for a day like this..

This doesn't mean anything, celebrities and politicians move around freely in other countries and relate with the masses. Because one decides to move without security on a lonely road doesn't make him best for the job.

I an not supporting any Candidate but Nigerians we are smarter than all these nonsense. Let's have debate, let's hear from the candidates, let's hear their plan. Let's know who has the knowledge, the honesty and determination to turn this great nation around.

Let's stop this nonsense of selecting a new candidate because we are tired of the previous one.

Let's create our candidate.

Let's create a DEMOCRACY BY THE PEOPLE

Some men dont think with their head, it is very commendable what you did and the way you handled him, guess the reason why your husband smiled with pride.

Sex-driven guys with money are the most dangerous, foolish and annoying people on earth. Once you see one, never expect any good from him, just turn the other way.

She will go back but she won't post it here. There's something in the guy's response which'll make her go back. I've done the sort multiple times.
Believe her rejecting his advances at your own peril. It won't surprise me if she's under the man as I type this.

Are we the only people thinking of this? Emphasis on the part where she said ' you have not even seen me and you expect me to just say yes to you". Meaning, there is a condition to that. What the guy was offering to her wasn't a problem to her but the way he asked it. She would still agree if the guy decides to play it to her tune.

I can't have this kind of girl as a girl.
