I had this discussion with a friend on how fraudulent guys escape judgment when taken to court. I always feel the Judges have been bribed.

It was my friend a Legal practitioner who told me that our security forces don’t do proper investigation before arrest. They just rush to make arrests that’s all.

Just see EFCC now running up and down into hotels in Lagos like a headless chicken. Them think say Na to where red jacket be everything.

I think KPMG, PWC or some Private security companies should become government recruitment consultants.

Just look at the number of well kitted Policemen guarding Private Citizens as escorts.

Abeg you get any link to USA? I heard street gangsterism is on the high side, but I’ll love to be there. After all, my sister in Benue told me over 20 youths have been killed tin a cult supremacy battle and it never made any news headline. embarassed

When it comes to financial crime there is always need for large resources
The EFCC is only going after Yahoo boys to show that the country do not support fraud and they do not commit their resources to it.
When it comes to huge financial case that deserves the resources then they use it.
The EFCC have convicted alot of fraudsters but the judiciary system is a bit unbalance when it comes to sentencing this individuals.
Moreover you don't expect the EFCC to chase a $50k scam with $100k it is a waste of the scarcely available resources

A whole landlord of bitterness accusing people of being bitter towards him.
It is ur bitterness towards ur country in particular and your fellow Igbos in general that makes u want this country to dissolve on war( another Somalia). It is this bitterness that makes u never celebrate when Nigerian army achieves success but instead celebrate when Nigerian army officials are killed.
It is this same bitterness that makes u happy when innocent Nigerian soidiers and cops are murdered by ESN terrorist.
It is this bitterness that makes u want to turn our beloved Igboland to a warzone grin

Don't ever accuse anyone of bitterness when the only news you post from SR are stories of war or anger mean to stimulate angst among the populace. What happened to balanced reporting since u want to turn to Newspaper Vendor?. You finally had a good night sleep in over 20 years. It was so special that u had to tell us how sweet the night sleep was. Your night must be filled with terrors

You sound like an idiot. How many Americans have defrauded Nigerian citizens? Can you give me an example of an American citizen indicted by a Nigerian court for crimes committed against Nigeria. Has DSS not arrested foreign citizens too before? Abba Kyari committed crimes against the US, they have the right to seek for his extradition.
Seek for is extradition as per say nah?

I protested in my own capacity and even though I didn't come across such (I saw instances of people on SM wielding clubs or so) Let it be known, they'd be reported if I were to be in that vicinity.

The crux here is how some of you are trying to justify lack of accountability and encourage irrational responses to situations that seems daunting to the security forces. Remove that lack of control and it is a race to the bottom from there on...

There's no evidence till date that anyone died from bullets of Nigerian army. According to the hospitals around the lekki toll gate, the wounded protesters had pellet gunshot wounds and the army doesn't use pump action rifles or Oka.
Even the US made this known a while ago that there's no evidence.
They said there is and I want them to provide it. During my teen age I ride with anything I hear from the people or gets from the news but now after being here two decades I know better.
The citizens sees themselves as no wrong doers, everything they do is right ones the army step in set things straight.

Lol. Is this an actual suggestion or mistype regarding bandits (essentially a terrorist group)? In other words, state sponsored empowerment to go after others with weapons. When done with EndSARS, you think they won't come for you too?
SMDH!

Individuals carrying weapon (if any, were hoodlums seeking the guise of protests or such and should rightfully face the full force of the law when caught)
If you were part of the protest,I would like to ask you this. Did you see any individuals with illegal material at the protest? What did you do after you saw them ? Did you report to the police or law enforcement agents?

Damn. Curfew? Heard this countless times. Curfew was 8pm. People were hearing shots at 6:50 pm. We got no excuse for killing our people. Why don't you arrest them? Was the Army invited?
Things were already bad before those protests. Nigerians protested not only because of Sars but inequality and bad economic policies. We all saw the looting of warehouses that followed. People were hungry and poor. SA and Nigeria are different situations entirely. One is using the cover of protesting for a politician to loot, cos of poverty and unemployment. The latter, is fed up with its government. Only one thing relates both, i.e Poverty and unemployment. Its the fuel for protests and anarchy
Yeah we know some people are poor and unemployed but what about those that are employed and not poor but we're part of the looting.
Sure everyone is fed up of the government but what are we as citizens doing to remedy the situation? loot, wait for our time to steal.or what

It's not about the number of the dead. I don't know why we keep defending things aimlessly.
Was the Nigerian Army at the toll gate? Yes.
Were protesters shot and injured? Yes.
Did we lose at least a Nigerian citizen to a Nigerian army bullet? Yes.
Case closed.
Firstly, the Nigerian army wasn't supposed to be there. I don't know if there was any official invitation by the government.
The Nigerian army wasn't supposed to shoot live rounds on its citizens or at any target cos it wasn't a violent protest. The Nigerian army wasn't shot at or assaulted. This is a total breach of the Nigerian army rules of engagement and international laws guiding human rights.
I am not defending anything but I just like that the truth be established.
Was the Nigeria army at lekki? Yes.
Was shot fired? Yes.
What kind of bullet was fired? Blank
We're protesters injured? Yes due to the scrambling for their defined safety.
Did we lose a Nigeria citizen to the bullet of the army? Can't ascertain that, cos it has not been proven.
There was an official invitation from the state government to the army asking them to assist them ensure that the curfew was adhere to.
The protest at lekki was not turning violent but the army has a job to do which is disperse the crowd. The didn't shoot live round cos if they did,I promise you blood will flow like water at the toll with the amount of people there and the closeness of the soldiers to the protesters.

Away from the cacophony, white noise and exaggeration on SM, facts still point to culpability of the NA led to death of certain individuals at the toll gate.

But I guess you choose what to believe.

Funny some of you on this thread may even turn out worse than the current tyrant in Aso Rock if you were in power.
If doing the necessary things makes one a tyrant then so be it.
I will like to know those facts, because we all tend to push the blame away from ourselves

According to the Lagos State governor(Who once denied there was no killings), he said two people died after the attack. Amnesty international said at least 12 people died after the attack.

I watch the video by DJ switch, and I saw people with gun shot injuries and she said in that video that Soldiers and Policemen were aiming directly at the armless protesters.

The Nigerian army denied there men was at the venue for days without even carrying out any investigation. They later agreed their men were there but didn't shoot at any civilian.

Well, the lekki toll gate shooting is one of the numerous reason we might not be able to buy weapons that's worth close to a billion dollars from the USA.
Was any of the death due to bullet wound from a rifle, amnesty couldn't even give accurate figures mtcheew.

Australian SAS were accused of murdering 39 Afghanistan civilians. The ADF made an inquiry into it and other killings by Australian military personnel in Afghanistan, and agreed some Afghanistan civilians were killed extra judicially. They never said their men didn't commit war crimes.

The Nigerian military have shot dead armless IPOB members unprovoked. Nigerian army personnel shot dead and injured ENDSARS protesters at the lekki toll gate and denied they were there at all even with video evidence.
Do you have an evidence apart from hearsay, of the ones that died at the toll gate

What do you mean?
The policeman pointed his rifle to the victim, with the intention to kill. There is nothing like accidental discharge. Nothing would had happened if the policeman didn't pull the trigger. The policeman should know better, not to "play" with his rifle
I have seen a situation of this kind many times, had it been he continued on his way would the officer even notice that he came to watch ball?
I have seen sars officers pull trigger with the mindset that nothing is in the chamber. He was pulling pressing it like shebi nah gun

A 34-year-old football enthusiast, Emmanuel Samuel, has died after a policeman allegedly shot him at a relaxation spot in FCT Abuja. Emmanuel was said to have gone to the spot with his fiancée and friends to watch a football match on Sunday, July 11, when the incident happened.

PUNCH Metro learnt the victim was leaving the bar when the policeman shot him in the leg after he cautioned him against accidental discharge. His sister, Veronica Samuel, said a hospital in the area refused to attend to him without a police report. She added that her brother was taken to a police station to get the report, but the police threatened to handcuff him. Veronica said the victim died 8 days later.

Recounting the incident, she said, “My brother went to watch the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy with his fiancée and friends at the Emperor Garden in Saburi 1, Mopol Barracks. The police went to the place to arrest someone.

“He was leaving the place at that point in time when he saw one of the policemen cocking his gun and pointing it in his direction. His friends said he told the policeman to be mindful of the way he was pointing the gun to avert accidental discharge which could kill people at the spot. He was leaving when a shot was fired.

“The bullet hit him in his left lap from behind and came out in the front. Immediately, the police fled the scene. His fiancée and others took him to a hospital, but a police report was requested. They went to the police station in the area, but they refused to give a police report and threatened to handcuff my brother, who was in pain.

“Instead of giving us the report, they referred us to an ill-equipped hospital close to the station. They went with us there and said he was in their custody and he would be handcuffed there. We resisted that. When we discovered it was getting worse, we took him to the Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital, where he died on July 19. According to one of the doctors there, he could have been alive if he had better first aid. We went back to report his death at the station, but we were sent away. “

A spokesperson for the FCT police, ASP Mariam Yusuf, said the command was investigating the matter. He said, “We are appealing for more information from members of the public on the identity of the person who shot the deceased.”

The Police force can’t kill an innocent Nigerian
You brought this here to counter but it still does not prove the point you want it to.
We all know accidental discharge happens alot because some of this junior officer's in the force are not yet ripe to handle a rifle.
Even in the army accidental discharge do happen.
Most times you have your gun on you with the mindset that the gun is not corked or on safety, sometimes you don't know there is a round in the chamber of the rifle.
What I want is the stats that prove that a lot of individuals arrested by the police are innocent

Insurgency or criminal activities don’t start from the thin air. If the locals don’t want it, it will definitely die off.
Yeah it does not but we still can't subtract the fact that some individuals support this guys and have been responsible for the production of logistics support for movement of arms and ammo capable of starting a small war.

Look at it this way, the going fellow are armed and looking for who to test it on,then the get this tribalistic idea that the north is against them and then boom they start attacking the northeners, the media now comes in to report what they are being told then the other side gets agitated and goes on their own rampage. Guess what just happened, they just shook the balance of the Nigeria state security system.
Thus giving them room to thrive for sometime.
