Perfect scapegoats for DHQ to send messages to other soldiers and the international community that the military doesn't condone such acts.

If an IFV were to get stuck in the same manner as this APC, would it not be abandoned by troops? Would the bandits not have all the time they need to burn it down? When that happens, will you then start clamoring for the deployment of tanks to kill individual bandits? When the opportunity arises for the bandits and they get to burn a tank, what other platform would you advise the military go for?

What particular armor do these bandits operate that 12.7mm or 14.5mm won't penetrate? These guys practically move around with motorcycles.

Even US wasn't moving around with only IFVs in Afghanistan. Despite many r as nkls getting damaged in Iraq, humvees were still being deployed.
There is no platform the Saudis and the Emiratis haven't lost in Yemen yet they haven't stopped deploying APCs.

The bandits are everywhere at the same time and ambushes are very easy for them to execute, our poorly built bases are also contributing to the losses we are incurring.
I don't think he can see beyond his nose

I don't knw if you are in the military or any armed forces, I don't knw if you are an investigative journalist.

But if the warning you have here actually come to pass and our military suffers casualty, then shame be unto them. I will believe what the Economist wrote that NA is useless.

If an Intel like this is flying around and our military didn't out measures to stop the attack or ambush them, then its of no use fighting this war.
Doing something is a two way street, the larger picture will determine what action should be taken, the FOB's are to up their guards and respond appropriately

The Nigeria Military is keeping Naija safe because some parts of the country still wants peace and are not ready for violence.

If everywhere in Nigeria goes into full violence mode like NW and NE there literally nothing the Army will do than to pack up and every personnel going back to chill in their zones.
If you know the length, the army is willing to go to ensure peace, you won't pray for violence neither will you buy even if it is offered to you for 1kobo.

There are certain loopholes in the constitution that allows for things such as this that the corrupt judges make use of. The judiciary is as corrupt as the police force and any attempt to go after the corrupt judges will result in the government losing a lot of important cases.
Whenever the police becomes actively involve in internal security, the judiciary will be the chain dragging it back

A credible source on Twitter gave the number of ISWAP fighters to be as high as 17,000.

In my own opinion, unless most of them are part-time fighters(more of civilians than fighters) we would have seen very large scale attacks on NA formation in the North East. We would have seen larger aggregation of the terrorists too which would have made it easier for the airforce to inflict a lot more damage on them. None of their propaganda videos has also indicated this.

Or maybe the bulk of their fighting force is made up of child soldiers. Especially with the way they force children and adolescents to join them. Consider reading the article written by Abbakar to know more about this.

https://fij.ng/article/i-did-it-to-survive-confessions-of-a-14-year-old-boko-haram-recruit-just-before-his-death/
If it is up to 17,000 as stated by the source then the decrease in attack over the years should be questioned.
From another article that I saw their attack team went from a 1000 conventional force to tenth or hundredth which means there is manpower shortage and thus the evolution of their strategy. If what the source says turn out to be true then it is most likely that they are forced or child fighter

Did you seriously mention court? grin
The same judiciary that hasn't secured any conviction against Evans after 5 years, but can give multiple political injunctions within a week. Orji Uzor Kalu was found guilty and sentenced by one court, released by another and now another court has given an injunction against EFCC to ever open a case against him.

The same with Peter Odili who got a perpetual injunction against EFCC from arresting or investigating him.
Court judgements are for sale in Nigeria and any government that relies on the judiciary will fail woefully.
Sad truth but how do this judge's just come up with this things like ...... How do you stop a law enforcement agencies from investigating and persecuting an individual

You might want to read this but note that the journalist isn't all that reputable.

When you are done reading, ask yourself some of these questions ;

1) Why did OBJ fail to secure a conviction against these terrorists financiers.
2) why did GEJ fail to do the same thing?
3) Why has the opposition and other groups/individuals failed to expose all these until now? Especially CAN
4) How is it that it is the president that has equipped the military the most to better take care of the country's security threat that is a sympathizer of the terrorists?
5)How come the same Northern Nigeria that voted massively for GEJ(even though GEJ did not win in many northern states, he had far more votes in those states than his opponents had in the SouthEast and Southsouth and won in states like Borno, Kogi, Nasarawa, etc) did not want a Christian to be their president?
6) The same can be said of OBJs election, he had most of his votes from the north yet we are supposed to believe the north doesn't want a Christian president.
7) Sheikh Gumi is also a very close friend of Obasanjo and Atiku, could that be the reason why the members of his sect that were arrested then were eventually released?

David Hundenyin is the type of journalist who has little facts then make up the rest to nail individuals. Why would you use pictures with certain people who might be connected with terrorism as proof that someone is also a sympathizer with terrorism.

To most of the questions you asked, I would say the answer is politics.
I have heard about how the Sharia law came by in different northern state and it is similar to how David stated it but the Sharia law enactment wasn't stop because of politics.
Question 4, I don't know which answer is appropriate enough

It was a bloody Saturday for some gunmen in Anambra State as men of the Nigerian Navy stationed at Navy Junction, Awaka, neutralised them in a gun duel.

The gunmen, travelling in a red Toyota Highlander SUV, with registration number NSH 248 AE, according to the video recording of the incident, were all allegedly killed in the gun duel.

The video shows the interior of the SUV and blood-spattered, indicating that all the occupants were shot, as depicted by the blood clots on Tue foot mats.

The video equally shows the Naval officers inspecting the car, just as one of the narrators displayed the headwear of the occupants with the inscription, “vigilante” and a red knotted bandana, believed to be an amulet.

The bitter pill of IPOB recklessly killing and enforcing hardship on civilians in the South East is very difficult to swallow for those who encouraged them when this madness started hence the silence. If it were to be soldiers killed or police station burnt, it would have been trending enormously.
The government would be making a lethal mistake by launching another military operation in that axis any time soon, allow the miscreant to continue with this behavior for some time, it is only a matter of time before the people who originally supported them start mobbing them and giving Intel to law enforcement agencies. They progressed from declaring sit at home once a year to enforcing it twice a week.
Just this morning, someone posted an advisory for people to stop driving or moving around with hilux vehicles as they are now attacking people in such vehicles. It can only get worse from here as most of these supposed freedom fighters are actually criminals recruited after the jailbreak and this is what they live for. Whoever is heading IPOB won't be able to stop them when he realizes the damage that is being done.
From the several attack that they have launched,I gathered that they go after people with escort, police orderly, politicians that do not associate with them, perceived big men in the society, SUV user(probably because it is associated with siren or convoy movement) and people with opposing views

Unpopular opinion but Buhati actually has very little to do with the current security situation of this country. In fact the foundations were laid 30-40 years ago when successive military administration refused to fund the military due to the fear of coup. Even when democracy was restored, democratically elected presidents refused to do the right thing due to the same reason. In fact it is rumored that OBJ even wanted to downsize the military (imagine how a 50k Nigerian military in its current state would have coped today). Successive administrations allowed the military and paramilitaries to decay for several decades and we are only starting to see the consequences. In fact, the administration that made the most revenue was the worst for the military. In the late 90s and early 2000s,the mopo was the standard instrument for returning peace and stability to troubled zones and deployment time was very short, the police force was functional at that time and the judiciary was still somewhat effective even though these instruments of government were already in a state of rapid decline. Even in the heat of the niger-delta militants crisis, OBJ did very little for the military(he got 12 F7-NIs though and some other minor procurements). In the heat of the insurgency in the North East, GEJ was okay with the usurpation of funds sorely needed by the military. Mind you, the bamditry in the northwest was already gaining momentum since the time of OBJ, it started way before that time but it was still minimal.
And now we expect an incapacitated military to perform a great job with the crisis we are facing.
This doesn't exonerate Buhari from his failures and weaknesses Sha, he could have done a better job and alleviated the situation.
In this war concerning insurgency we would find out soon that bubu did as expected, man was just dishing out cash for the every agency.
Ensured full funding for the air Force, even if the army are still lacking in funding

It's a sad thing what is happening in the northern part of this country but the truth is it may continue for a long time unless there is a huge investment in the Army by the next administration, the army alone getting $2-3billion for massive procurement. We cannot hope to see meaningful progress with the way we are fighting small arms with small arms where the enemies have a far greater number and are very fluid(this moment they are bandits and terrorists the next moment they are harmless citizens). In all honesty, the airforce has really tried a lot but there is need for strong boots on the ground. The attack on the camp in Sokoto started with one of the bandit leaders relocating his base from zamfara to another forest in Sokoto as a result of constant air harassment, he then decided to clear military presence around his new base and unfortunately there was a weak base close by. If enough resources is provided for the Army, and junior officers/non commissioned officers are given a free reign, I'm very sure that they will go after the bandits and terrorists anywhere they might be. Ordinary artilleries in reasonable numbers and spotting equipment(ISR) will prevent the bandits from forming up in meaningful numbers. IFVs, AFVs, MRAPs, tanks, recovery vehicles and so on are among the equipment needed in reasonable quantities.
Also the Army has shifted strategy from launching attacks from well constructed and defended barracks to having military camps littering conflict zones across the country, unfortunately they do not have good base defense doctrines and strategies, in fact they are extremely poor at this and while they should consider training troops on it as a long term plan, the short term plan is for them to be ready to spend meaningful resources on base construction. If they lack the skills they should employ the services of private contractors to help with it while army engineers learn and steadily acquire the required skills and equipments.
Walai i don't think it is not skills but equipment and logistics
