Congratulations oo!!
Canada awaits your grand arrival!!
Mami1:
PPR just dropped.

First application was with my son. The VO was not convinced that I could take care of him.

Second application, I applied without my son and tackled the VOs concern......

I applied Dec 17, Sep 2020 intake.

Received NSE request on 23rd Dec.

Sent IELTS on 9th January, got a confirmation message on Feb 5, medicals passed on Feb 3 ( upfront medicals)

Started classes online...

More details to follow soon.

Did they specifically request for it?
If they didn't, then no need.
Police report is not even needed for Study Permit application. We just do it to fulfil all righteousness.
WINNERMENTALITY:
Can i write back to Canadian immigration to know if the recieved my police report or not becuause i uploaded only the small certificate and its through their webform

I am also interested in this question.
Hoping someone replies ASAP.
Lekiboboe:
Hello house , trust you are doing great

Pls I need a clear guide on this PTA thing & going with Cash (money) to Canada

Tuition is paid already, so it's the $10,000 CAD proof of Living Expenses that is left now.

My questions goes thus,

- How can someone go with $10, 000 CAD to Canada?

- I do hear of $4,000 PTA is it $4,000 USD or $4,000 CAD?

- If its $4,000 CAD, Should I open a MasterCard domiciliary account and keep the remaining $6,000 CAD (in USD) there?

If I get to Canada, can i withdraw money in USD with my MasterCard then change it to CANADIAN DOLLAR?

Can someone go to Canada with more than $10,000CAD e.g $10,500 CAD or $11,000 CAD?

Any further information about this will be appreciated

Thanks

No you don't need to pay TF if it's your first application. However, If you are submitting a second application, you'll have to pay.

Please someone should help. Do I need to pay passport transmission fees if I am submitting my passport at the same location I did my biometrics?

Hi,
Thanks for your response. It was definitely an error. I sent an email to the London office and they said I should ignore the email that it's an 'Administrative Error'
JustMellow:

Hello Ericksen,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Upon sighting the 1295e on the letter which reference the Work Permit IMM Form, I don't think this is for you. I may be wrong though.

Is any of the information on the letter applicable to you? If it is, supply the required document (s) and use the LOE to address that which isn't.

Best of Luck

Thanks for your response.
London office just replied to my email now saying its an error and that I should disregard it.

Good day Gurus in the house.

After a persistent sending of emails and webforms to IRCC. I just got this 'Your attention is needed' email this afternoon from the London office.

The below (2 &3) is confusing to me.

I applied since May 2020 (But have deferred my resumption to Fall'21)...which might justify why they need number 1 as highlighted (updated application form).
The number 2 looks strange to me as I don't see how that applies to me. Why do they need me to write a business plan? Or is it the business plan of the company that I work for?
For number 3, do they mean I should get my HR to write that I am still an employee in our firm?
Is it possible that they made a mistake? Like I believe they misclassified my visa.

PLEASE HELP OO. As I have barely 11days to take care of this.
JustMellow, Frankrobbn1

Has anyone here received this kind of information from IRCC and how did you tackle it?

I think webforms are not working.

Congratulations.
Inioluwa1:
Good day everyone, LONG POST ALERT (But believe me when I say it is supposed to be longer)
I have been a silent and longsuffering reader of this thread, actively reading since like Part 14 or 15.
On Tuesday the 9th of February 2021, I got the much-awaited PPR!
This is my gist:
December 2019, I reignited my dream to go to Canada. I genuinely wanted a career change from Law to HR. I finished with a 2:2 (Second Class Lower) in both Law and my first degree in English (I’m a young old man – 27 going to 28), and a 2:1 (Second Class Upper) from Law School. It was good enough to get me a decent job in Nigeria but the reality is stark and rather disappointing (Nigerian Lawyers dey suffer… but that is gist for another day).
With deep research, I chose to make the career switch, starting with paid online course which bagged me a diploma in Human Resources. I took this with hopes of one day becoming a specialist with my background in Labor Laws and Employment Legislation, by God’s grace. It was a big and tall dream. My target job and related field was and is increasingly always in Top 3 in-demand and top paid jobs in Canada. But we all know man proposes and God blesses as He wills.
I initially started off with interest in Express Entry under the FSW, but the impediment was my years of foreign work experience - less than a year. I wrote my IELTS and passed with 8.0. Overall Band Score, did my evaluation with WES (getting a transcript from Nigerian institutions is a task I wouldn’t wish on my enemy) but the CRS score was still too low. The only way to boost is was to effectively be fraudulent and risk a five-year ban. No, that was too much of a risk. I was advised by an acquaintance to try study route. How? I had no knowledge of it and I didn’t graduate with 2:1 that I could try Masters. I did my research and applied to two schools for a Business Diploma in Human Resources (I was adamant I wanted Saskatchewan for “personal” reasons.) and got admission offer into Great Plains College, Swift Current. This was EIGHT months after I started my Canada plans. I dumped EE for study with age not really being on my side as I intended to use my mother as the sole sponsor (Salary was nothing to write home about) for an ordinary diploma… me, a graduate with two university degrees, NYSC, and a qualified Lawyer. The odds were heavily and massively stacked against me. I waited and waited and waited and it seemed the world was passing me by and I wasn’t making progress. I broke down many times and kept my sincerity in my relationship with God even in my imperfection.
Nairaland and this thread is a big blessing. I got so much insight from being humble enough to learn from everyone.
My Application Timeline goes thus,
- Applied Online: October 6, 2020
- Biometrics Request: October 7, 2020
- Biometrics Completed: October 9, 2020
- NSE Additional Document Request (MyBankStatement Cert): November 24, 2020
- Upfront Medical after waiting and not getting request: November 25, 2020
- Medical Updated to Passed: December 2, 2020
- NSE Additional Document Uploaded: December 2, 2020
- NSE Additional Document Received: December 4, 2020
- Eligibility Review Started: December 4, 2020
- Deferred January Admission to September and informed IRCC with the new Acceptance documents via webform and mails to the three Nairobi e-mails.
- Requested GCMS Notes: January 28, 2021
- PPR and BVL and GCMS Notes all dropped: February 9, 2021
A total of FOUR months and 3 days passed and EVERY SINGLE DAY was excruciating. I prayed, fasted, and made covenants with God. I dipped into depression more than once… He gave me Jeremiah 29: 11 and I prayed for favour every night before I slept and every morning before I opened my eyes, I reminded God of His promises in His word. I got my Joy back even before the miracle happened. I was instructed to do what Otunba, lekiboboe and especially Awys did in their various posts like https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/228#98846426 and it worked! I am grateful to Blavkmaann , your posts gave me hope and cheered me up and FrankRobbn1 you’re a blessing. I can’t mention everyone but you’ve all inspired me.

Documents submitted:
1. Application for Study Permit made outside Canada (FORM imm1294e)
2. Application for Temporary Residence (FORM imm5257f)
3. Client Information
a. My Statement of Purpose
b. My Birth Certificate
c. My siblings’ Birth Certificates
d. My academic and professional certificates: First Degree Cert, Second Degree Cert, WAEC Cert, Online Diploma Cert, Law School Cert, NYSC Cert, and Call to The Bar Cert.
e. Academic Transcripts from both Universities attended (Student Copy suffices)
f. IELTS General Test Result
g. There was an IRCC Form filled from school I attached.
h. Police Certificate
i. Father’s Death Certificate
j. Study Questionnaire
4. Digital Photo
5. Family Information (FORM imm5645e)
6. Letter of Acceptance
7. International Passport Data Page
8. Proof of Means of Financial Support:
a. Sworn Affidavit for support by mother duly notarized
b. Letter of appointment/confirmation of appointment at work for mother
c. Salary Payroll of the sponsor (mother) for 6 months prior to application
d. Sponsorship Letter
e. Relevant Work certificates for sponsor
f. Printed and scanned Bank Statements of sponsor for 4 months prior to application (Current and Savings totalling 5.4 M Naira)
g. Proof of Sponsor’s Rent Collection over property signed by her Lawyer.
h. Receipt and confirmation of payment of Tuition Deposit of $CAD 8,500 for a Semester
i. Sponsor’s International Passport data page
j. Certificate of Occupancy of sponsor’s property
k. Employment/Work Identity Card of Sponsor
l. Bank Investment Account worth 3.04M Naira

NOTE: When I got the NSE Request for a Mybankstatement Cert, I initially sent series of webforms and mails that I don’t want to do because I was seeing $CAD 30,000 minimum when we barely had half! I was led to submit it with a balance of 3.6M Naira (having already paid $CAD 8,500 deposit) because upon reading the letter again, it said “Proof of Financial Support A mybankStatement certificate showing sufficient funds for your studies for at least 6 months and 12 months of banking history”, which mean (to my new understanding) half of the requirement for a year’s sufficient funds… English can be hard.
Let me not bore you. I hope and trust I have been able to restore someone’s faith here. Don’t be moved by what you see (even on this forum, I saw people with over ten times of what my mother has and even being fully-funded and what not, not getting approved, I’m not despising anyone - God forbid, just keep the faith and DO YOUR HOMEWORK well, God cannot be mocked.), your joy is key – don’t lose it, keep busy and don’t stay idle - depression sets in faster then, a delay can never be a denial.
I’ll be resuming September 2021. Let me stop here, it has ended in praise!

Hello and welcome,
Your first should be directed to your school, they are the only one that can tell you if tuition fee is payable annually or otherwise. As for the second question, you only need to show tuition fee for one year.
Do not forget the $10k also for living expenses in CAD.

shupy:
Hello everyone. I'm about to start my student visa journey. I need clarification regarding financial requirements. I'm going for graduate certificate program and school fee is about 16k per year. Can I pay per semester? Also regarding visa application am I supposed to show evidence of my funding for the 2 years duration of my stay or just a year?

No, you don't need to raise a web form.
Just wait for 30 days to elapse. Your application will automatically be processed using the Normal Route.

Please I have a question,
If I was sent the NSE request and I don’t want to provide my bank statement and ietl exam would the normal route process still continue or do I have to write a webform giving the reasons why I can’t do the NSE route ?

Please help me

THIS!!!!!
New applicants should please take note of the bolded.
Very very Important.
These VOs are experts in detecting inconsistencies. So endeavour to do some laundry and make sure everything you are saying is well aligned.
JustMellow:

Hello OtunbaTee,

In addition:

This ís going to be the trend, digitalization is advancing same as way of life and its effect to the social society, so the VOs must as well advance their security checking system.

Its not also wise to travel with a gadget of unwarranted conrespondence that the law would frown towards, leave it back and travel with a new gadget if the funds is there or clean the phone sparkling clear off what would draw attention.

Where most people let their guard down and create a loop is on LinkedIn after many forget they even have a profile there. Some applicants' LinkedIn profile shows one thing and their job position shows some else in the reference/employment letter. The wise thing for anyone with vested interest in immigration should first prepare to do laundry before applying.

Cheers

To God be the glory.
I sent my passport to Abuja on the 4th and it returned unstamped because I didn't pay transmission fee due to someone's advice that they will contact me to pay. They didn't instead they returned it. I had pay the transmission fee, pay couriers one way and paid #12570 to vfs for return.
My advice is that people should take note of this so that it won't happen to them.
My application was refused 5 times , my admission expired 2 times, I kept hope alive .
I went to court for judicial review and won.
Finally it ended in praise . Don't give up hold onto your dream with clean hands and clean .
May God bless you all.

It's always best to arrive at your DLI at most a month to your resumption.
5 months is too far apart and you are most likely to be turned back at the POE {You don't have Enrollment Letter!}.
Try and travel in August {My opinion}

When it comes to network speed in 9ja, well, it depends on where you live.
Spectranet is kinda shitty in my area {Yaba, Lagos}. But awesome at some of my colleagues' location.
Anyways I use SWIFT and it's super fast!
It's always about location.
Do your due diligence very well.
nowhere:

So if permit never got approved, one can just finish off in Nigeria if school allows it?

My main concern is the network you guys in Nigeria are using for the online classes.

I am in Canada, coming to Lagos for one month and I need to continue my classes.

Which network serves best, data plans and co?

Guys put mouth abi hand sef. Thanks.

There is no specific timeframe to commence a re-application. But it is advisable to order your GCMS (which takes about 30-35days) so you can pinpoint the VO's key concerns and reasons for the refusal.
Once this is settled, you can repackage well and refire!

If you just arrived canada, please start working on getting a Canadian driver's license. Car is a necessity in Canada. The process for getting a driver's license here can take up to one year. please even if you don't need a car now. GET A DRIVER'S LICENSE. I missed out on a dope internship because I didn't have a license at the time.

If you are still in Nigeria, get a legit naija drivers license. Most provinces will let you drive with your naija license but employers will prefer Canadian drivers license especially if you have to drive company car.

If you bring fake naija licence, you can get away with it in some provinces but Vancouver ICBC or British Columbia in general will catch you and you might get a fine.

This was truly interesting to read. Like I didn't want the story to finish. smiley smiley
Thank God for journey mercy and do enjoy your stay.
Kimkalash:
Hi guys, sorry it took this long.

Did not do covid test. No one checked my luggage in Lagos. Just went to the Ethiopian airlines stand, gave them enrolment letter, admission letter, arrive can receipt photocopy and I checked in my luggage. Begged the checker to put me by the window for all flights up to Newfoundland, he did and i just tipped his something. Went to have breakfast and then dashed towards the boarding gate. As expected, na only pilot no tax me. Plane left around 2. We got to Addis Ababa around 9.
Getting out of the plane, we rushed to the boarding gate to get set for Dublin. Plane left around 11 and we got to Dublin about 8 hrs later I think. This was so so long. There was quite a delay at Dublin I think because of logistics but from Dublin to Toronto it took us about 7 hrs. The journey was long for me as my max before now used to be around 5 hrs.

We got to Toronto, waited for about 30 minutes in the plane, went straight to border services, filled a few forms, showed our arrive can, boarding pass and passport and then we were directed towards immigration. The guy just came to us, asked us for passport, tuition receipt/enrolment verification, declaration form and admission letter. 10 minutes later, he called me, gave me back my documents and issued my study permit and gave me a paper to direct me on how to get my social insurance number, then that was all.

Checked in my luggage going to Newfoundland. It was still past 11 and my flight was for 9:30 pm so i just followed my Nigerian friends going to Vancouver to their boarding gate, gisted and saw them off at past 2. Then it was only me. This was draining. I then began to tour the airport and met a South Sudanese woman with whom I discussed the state of our countries and neo-colonialism. She's a Canadian citizen so she enlightened me a whole lot and when she realized i didnt have cash cause I was complaining on phone that i was hungry, she gave me 20 U.S dollars but the mumu me went to Italian to buy ham, bacon and coke. I forcefully finished it o.

Went to my boarding gate 2 hrs prior and saw a white guy. Moved closer to him and started a conversation. He was speaking fast so my accent also had to change. We discussed Trump, liberalism, Canada's plan towards development and economic expansion, American and Chinese trade wars and the beauty of data analytics in Insurance. A few minutes to board, we parted and he got to the plane first as per him seat be like first class.

I later got on the plane but when the plane paced around the runway, i think it began to have issues so the captain said we'd return to the gate and do a system refresh on the plane. It delayed for two hours. I sha know say after like five minutes wey plane move up, i don sleep. Before I know, e don remain 8 minutes to land. Landing was thrilling cause the journey from Lagos was long. I got to the NFL border, took my luggage, approached the border official, submitted my passport, travel declaration form and my GT atm card for indentification. She spoke her English and then freed me. I met my greeter and he put me in the cab but failed to tell the porter i was coming cause he was attending to two others.

The cabman dropped me and I knocked and knocked but nobody came through. I was just on a shirt. I languished in the cold, shouted for help but no one came through. I saw a car pass by and slowly approached the car and an Asian lady listened to me, asked me to wait and she called her supervisor. I ran across the road for like five minutes to limit the effect of the cold and then she drove towards me and gave me a number to call but that was when the other two guys came and the porter came around. I went in, called the greeter, fuckling blast him and he apologized. I was then shown my room and I checked in for isolation. I am in quarantine.
A mix of experiences you see?
