Reform of the police to reposition them for better professionalism is in order. This shouldn't be a North-South thing. Personally I'm satisfied with the results of the protests. However, I think the govt should now be left to implement the demands. Creation of the new SWAT is in order, provided they follow through with best practices. For those saying, nothing else should be created at all, hope they realize it's impossible for a police force to be without a dedicated special response unit.

SWAT had already been in existence before the so-called “creation” of the unit. So what happens to the former unit already in place? Doesn’t that tell you that all they plan to do is redeploy them under a different name?
