The entire south east, even though I am not from South East, I doubt if you Know the environment more than I do

I have been visiting Anambra state long before Obi became a Gov. Till this moment, nothing has changed safe for the flyovers constructed by Willie at Aroma and Unizik junction.
The hometown of Obi, Agulu has remained a ghost village. The roads Obi constructed when he was a Gov at Nnewi by bank roads, all have been washed away. Few months, I was in Anambra from Ogidi, Idemili, Akwuzu, Onyeagu, Awka roads, Limca by People's club/ Obosi all have been turned to major dumpsites.
Obi can't win a local Govt election in Kano state or Lagos state if he was to be judged by his performance as a former Governor
Is this the place you called a ghost village lol? If you want to lie about something at least make it something that can’t be easily debunked and disproved. Despite the fact that it’s located in a remote part of the state the level of development that has gone on there is nothing short of commendable, stop selling us fake agenda and propaganda abeg

I already told you that I don't remember the name of the village, that was many years ago. That's what I sounds like to me if I try to remember the name.
What I witnessed has been confirmed by my Igbo friends as the norm in the SE. I also witnessed this over a period of about a week not just on one day. I also had an Igbo man that was one of the contractors I had hired many years ago while building my first house in Lagos. I noticed that he didn't go home for xmas, I asked him why and he said basically the same thing. He told me that if he doesn't have the kind of money he's expected to have made in Lagos, he ain't going home. I was shocked, because this was a guy that was doing very well financially as of then. He's skill was very much in high demand and was making good money in Nigerian context.
Chief I’m telling you that your Igbo friends are either suffering from an inferiority complex or allowing undue pressure from kinfolk get to them which brings me to my next point. The going home for Christmas thing is not necessarily limited to the Igbos alone, it has more to do with the mentality that as someone living in the “city” which they assume means you must be rich then that when coming back you can’t come empty handed. It’s like me saying that Yoruba people are dirty because of the few encounters with unhygienic Yoruba people that I know or that Hausas are not academically inclined which also despite applying to some sets of people can’t be used to generalize a whole tribe. I’m igbo but honestly I was raised in PH, Niger, Imo and Abuja. I don’t do the tribalism thing myself and I know a good number of us that don’t fit into your rhetoric, we can’t be fighting for a better Nigeria and still be fighting each other ontop of baseless and trivial issues like this, shalom brother

Don't remember the name of the village, the year was 2008. Agunji village? Not sure. The host had a huge mansion with tennis court and swimming pool. While at the wedding I quickly noticed how everyone was bowing down to the rich guys especially my host. I was sitting very close to him hence I saw the whole tradition and how rich people are treated.
Hey, every tradition have their own pluses and negatives but the way you guys treat those with money is very un African. Grown old men almost kissing the foot of rich young guys, that will never happen in Yoruba land. (A rich young man in Yoruba land will get some respect but not almost worshiped like a god regardless of your wealth. elders will not bow to you even if you are Elon Musk)
And especially the way Igbos online talk about others worshiping their leaders, you will never think that just having money in Igbo land alone makes you a god. I have an Igbo friend who explained to me that what I saw is normal in Igbo land.
He said that's why Igbo men will do anything for money because if you don't have money, you are nothing in the community. And with money, you are king even the elders will bow.
grin Now I know you’re just here capping, there is no place like Agunji in the whole of Anambra not to talk of the East as a whole lmao. And as for the money part, yes I know we can be capitalistic but don’t use the experience of less than 1% of the population of a tribe to generalize unless you have proof. I can personally point you to Igbo families I know who are some hidden billionaires but despite their wealth three of those families have been labeled as “Osus” from the time of their grandparents, why didn’t they use their money to influence those decisions then? If money was so important why couldn’t Arthur Eze or Cosmas Maduka, both billionaires in USD buy kingship titles in their state? What you described might have happened but that is very far from my culture and whoever did that is just plain shameless. Thank you for your contribution sha

Your life must be worthless to bet it on such an infantile assumption. I have been to Awka, I was there for a friend's wedding in a village not far from the Capital. I was expecting to see a much developed city but in reality, there's was little difference between the village where the wedding took place and Awka itself. We drove to Awka many many times to use the AMT and for other things that we could not find in the village.
Our host was a gentleman with a huge mansion in the village and it seems like everyone bow down to him even the those that are older than him (this will bever happen in Yoruba land regardless of your wealth). I was there for a whole week before flying back to Lagos. There was no airport at that time in Awka at that time (not sure of that now) hence we had to drive to I think Enugu for our flight back, I even met Osofia ( The Actor) on the flight.
Name of the village you stayed at chief and what year did this “trip” take place?

“Tell me you don’t know ANYTHING about PO without saying it directly” grin

Oga rest, same man that has been advocating for the North and the potential they have in multiple interviews both on Radio and Live TV? I laugh when I hear people talking about PO negatively as if the Obidient movement is a tribal one, Not to sound condescending or anything but if there’s something that Igbos and other select southern tribes understand which the rest of Nigeria is yet to figure out is that the presidency coming from your region doesn’t put money in your pockets personally. Why we vote is not to say we have people from our region there because it doesn’t add nothing to us rather because we know how terrible poor choices can be and their effect on businesses and the cost of living. That’s not to say we make the best choices when voting in our states but when it comes to the Federal level we support who can sustain SMEs and not regress the economy like APC has done. It’s no secret that the North has suffered the most in the last 7+ years of APC in power and instead of voting along the lines of who actually has a conscience and wants to better the life of the average northerner a lot of you still sell fake agendas and propaganda to install another clueless kleptomaniac in power. If the person you install tomorrow (BAT) turns out to be worse than PMB then what next? You’d rather sell your soul for peanuts than fighting so yourself and your kids can have a better and more secure Nigeria? Vote who you want sir but when shit becomes tougher don’t complain or grumble because you had the chance to actually make a difference but you chose trivial personal interest over that. Peace!

You got it wrong from the beginning. You misunderstood me. I am not talking of the innocent people that hustele legit. I am talking about the guys who are involved in this yahoo thing. Only a wicked person will make the innocent suffer. Read my post again.
If someone tell you that he is into online freelancing legitimately, you will know he is telling the truth from your experience and asking some questions. He will even refer you to some of his past works online.

Not the one that will tell you he is a business man but you can't find anything he is doing legitimately online or offline.

That is the point I am making here.
I see what you’re saying but it still doesn’t serve as an appropriate and effective measure to truly doing a thorough background check of the tenant. That is the responsibility of the EFCC, picture a scenario where I attempt to explain to a police officer who’s not in touch with 21st century tech that I’m a YouTuber or a dropshipper or a blogger.
I know people who work in these fields who have been wrongly profiled by neighbors, acquaintances and even some distant relatives as “Yahoo Boys” despite multiple attempts to clearly explain their source of income. A lot of people especially those in the older generation can’t fathom how a young man in his 20s can sit at home in front of a laptop screen all day and make at least $30k per annum. It is what it is but hope you see why I said that EFCC should stop farming their work out onto the citizens they’re supposed to be accountable to.

And you carry all those documents and paste on your gate and cars so that people like you won't call you a fraudster for working from home?

What about YouTubers, Upwork and Fiverr freelancers, Bloggers, Traders, dropshipper, e-commerce merchants, and digital marketers. What would they carry about so you don't tag them fraudsters?

Not up to a month ago, a friend who is just finding his feet on Upwork contacted me and was asking about what to do because Agege police keeps disturbing him. What documents would he show your ignorant people to explain his work in a way they can understand? Or you think he's not a hard-working citizen that should be protected from your extortion?

Educate yourself and your people! Use the right tools to fight the real criminals. Stop unnecessary profiling. Even jumia knows when I need a pair of shoes. A serious crime fighter should know what's happening in its online space, not acting like a tout!

Nobody is saying there's no smuggling. The question is the scale. Your links shows most of the smuggling is done with 25litre jerrycans which will be less than 50,000 litres per day overall.
That's an infintesimal sum if you consider the amount of fuel we're looking for is over 30million litres.
There are no big bosses involved in smuggling. It's a retail thing. The oil hawks are just using that to peddle false figures to loot our commonwealth. That's what the article just proved with verifiable facts and figures.
Bro God will bless you tenfold. I’m appalled that with all that was written in the article people are still asking about smuggling to Niger, Chad and their counterparts. It’s so sad that people can’t even see things blatantly in front of them and keep asking irrelevant questions. The figures quoted were suspicious to say the least and the article makes a lot of sense seeing as if the purported amount were actually being smuggled daily then there would be nonstop traffic and gridlocked roads around the country.
