We should all aspire to be the kind of tenant we would want when we become a landlord.

When I had a similar situation, I ensured that I was as Godly as much as I could.
- Agent increased rent, but it was too close to the expiration of my tenancy. I told him to give me 6 months to move out and I paid for the 6 months at the going rate. Eventually, I was too busy and I didn't move out as planned. So I asked for another 3 months but I paid the new rate.
- He asked me to paint the flat after moving out. I told him I would paint only after removing the new wiring, mosquito nets and other improvements that I installed. He quickly told me to forget it.

He may not like me, but he could not fault what I did. I would also not cry foul if a tenant did the same thing to me in the future. in fact I would be extremely grateful if I had my type of person as a tenant.

It is absolutely not correct, and your explanation makes it worse. Every other thing being equal, you should renew your tenancy (pay your rent) before the tenancy expires. So, unless there are other issues (such as financial problems), quit notice is highly likely to come when your tenancy is still valid. Once you stop paying your rent, you are no longer a tenant and that is almost another discussion on its own.

Also, Landlords should not give rent to a tenant whose two months income cannot cumulate their annual rent.

The 6 months notice to quit should come from the court. After 6 months and the tenant has not moved out, 7 days notice to quit is served. After 7 days and the tenant has not moved out, the bailif can now execute the eviction.

Assumptions, The 6 months notice is statutory by law, no court order needed. You will need a court order if eviction is to take place.

Read the post again, He has 6 months notice meaning 6 months b4 his rent expires. Best option is to negotiate with landlord, for him to allow him move his stuff while renovation is going on then move back in but ofcos me and you know rent is going to increase!

Once you are served notice to increase rent, the option would be A Pay or B move out if you dont pay, then the court can order you to move out and if you refuse the beliefs move in.and they can take your property to storage and you will have to pay for it,This all can be done within 6 months

bross let me be honest with you, the landlord is very fair, he has given you 6 months notice, that's half of your tenancy agreement, Six months is enough to make arrangement to move out..it would be better to move out in good blood than bad blood. Moving out is not the end of the world, it might just be the kick start you need for you to start building your own home.

FYI, all bridges in Nigeria are constructed using concrete with asphalt surfacing.

If you understand simple Engineering you will get the gist that bridges are casted in segments and where these segments meet are the expansion joints.

Looking at the pics posted by OP, those tiny cracks are expected and only need bitumen to fill them up.

David Umahi act as if he knows too much. This same man constructed concrete runway in Abakaliki airport that is not safe for planes to take-off or land on because of poor grip hence commercial airlines avoided the airport (aside that the airport has no economic value). He wasted 40billion.

While I know that concrete roads are good if they are properly constructed, like the one in gbagada, but Umahi will be forming engineer while he cannot deliver quality roads in his state.


I don't trust the quality of the concrete road that Will be delivered on the coastal road project. Umahi likes substandard and shiny things like China and Hitech construction company is not reputable enough to handle such magnitude of project. The only construction company I can trust to deliver is julius berger.

This is what happens when you give a road contract to someone who has no idea of what it takes to construct even a 10ft slab of concreate. No single expansion grove on the road!
