What is the name of the School that sent you such mail? standupguy: Good Day every one. I just took a work from the Canadian thread to here after 3 refusals for student TRV. I have already started the Australia TAFE admission process in June before I realized that I needed IELTS so I requested for them to defer my admission for January to enable me write the exam.
But I got a mail from them saying all applications from Nigeria has been suspended so I am kind of confused where to start again. I am currently reading up the thread but any help or suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you. |

Ok Boss. Thanks A lot, it's actually a friend am trying to help. God bless you for taking time to assist here. izykvision0: States have csol and regional list. Check the regional list to see if your nominated occupation is on it. From there you proceed same way as 190, but filling 489 for your assessment and in EOI. You get 10points for 489 and 5 for 190. So you still need to have your occupation on a list: SOL, CSOL, or Regional. |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by erictack203(m): 12:24am On Aug 14, 2015 |
How can someone qualify/apply for 489 if his/her Occupation slot is filled or not available for 190 or 189?. izykvision0: There is no relationship between 189,190 and 489. They are independent of one another. 489 is used by the govt. to lure people who cant meet up with the requirements for 189 or 190 to regional Australia, so as to develop the regions; and of course its a temporary visa, which u can switch to perm. when there in due time. |

Congrats bro. God will see you tru, the road to success is a narrow way, at the end you will eat the fruit of the Land. You and your Family should be brave, like I use to tell my wife at times that any sacrifice one took for the Good of the Family is worth it providing that the end Justifies the means. You will get a good Job and enjoy the City soon. You will see. God bless your efforts. izykvision0: Accommodation na serious matter here o especially for non-students. Never experienced such a hectic process before. Even in the UK, you will surely get a place under 3days provided there is a vacancy and also depends on your taste.
Going through Agency you need to apply for a property, wait for the inspection date, of which you are already at a disadvantage because majority of other applicants are currently working in Australia. The Agencies and Landlords want applicants that are in employment. Except you have a fat bank account funded with transfered funds from Naija of about AUD10,000, of which you have to promise to pay 2-3months upfront and additionally a bond of same amount, then you can be considered.
Some landlords are good and wont mind, but it seems people have some kinda alert on gumtree, because an advert put up 10mins ago already has 36views. SO you call and the landlord says someone is keen and he/she will put you on the waiting list in-case the person's references don't come back clean (serious long thing).
Getting a shared accommodation (not that easy though, as this comes with several restrictions like culture, religion, no couples etc) is the best to start with for minimum 6 months to enable you get a job and possibly build up more funds, before you move to an apartment or house of your choice. You will also need a character reference from the landlord or person in charge of letting out the room to you at the end of your 6months lease to help your application.
After so much wahala and several inspections, I have eventually settled for and gotten an en-suite master bedroom in a shared house, as i have a wife and son.
On a lighter note, 1st week of arrival i already did 2 interviews within my profession and progressing in stages in both. Same goes for my wife.
My experience above is based on what i have seen in Melbourne, might be different in other low population suburbs and other states. But to a large extent they practically do things the same way here in Australia. |

Sometimes, in my opinion, I mostly advised against contacting immi once applications are with them, it's like opening a Pendora's box.
It's mostly advisable to wait till one is contacted. That's y I stated the if you submit your applicatn to TLP, you should strike out 1week. Make una patient with them. |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by erictack203(m): 3:02pm On Aug 12, 2015 |
They do. Oh yes they do, they also check your fb account, to see whether your claims are proportionate to your personalities. That's y some info are best answered on pms. So when ppl send pms, ppl should not think that is for personal/secret deals. It's to discuss grey areas concerning Visa application practicalities. ukdave: I dey suspect say DIBP dey read wetin we dey write here... who thinks same way? |

They will revert, immi calls 8:30am to 11:30am, other time are for Visa grants. They wanted to grant your Visa, but they want to clarify some issues first. Don't send any email again, they want to call you when you don't expect, Bcus it's and interview and they don't want you to be prepared, they want to take u unaware, they will ask you questions from you CV, your SOP, your dependants/parent's/siblings DOB. The calls usually comes b/w 8:30am to 11:30am. Pls prepare, always carry ur fone to the toilet as well as your sop and cv, my own fone is like my wedding ring. Be patient, they will call you, as long as you have sent them an email stating that you missed their calls, also forward the email to ash.pretoria@dfat.gov.au Goodluck. ukdave: Bros, I have sent emails to them thrice without any response. I sent the third one today.. abi am I sending to the wrong email (immigration.pretoria@dfat.gov.au). I only asked for a confirmation of receipt of my application. Since TLP can't tell me exactly when they sent it to Pretoria. |

Nor forget to tie your CV and SOP for waist once you send that email. Also when sending the email, put all your details at the top. Goodluck. Bryanpro: Choi.. If one misses a call from Australia embassy Pretoria SA.. Is there any other remedy?.. I just got out of the bath room and went through my phone now and saw a missed international call ... Pls any help house?? |

The only way is putting it online here on NL, they will read it. That is the way they handles things. VFS is even of better service than TLP, because VFS will send you an sms follow up all through the application, but TLP won't. That's how bad it is. God will deliver us in this Country my brother. ukdave: If this is the way teleperformance handles our applications then their services are questionable. Other countries apply and get e reciept and we are just kept in the dark about a service we have paid for. Is there any way of addressing this issue. Because I called the office twice and they were giving all kinds of excuses. They didn't even know what SVP meant. Nigerians deserve to be treated better. No matter what. |

Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by erictack203(m): 3:25am On Aug 12, 2015 |
Once an application is lodged through Teleperformance, subtract one week from the date and the other dates is when the docs gets to Pretoria. Example, if you submitted 3weeks ago, the docs are in Pretoria for 2weeks. Teleperformance allows docs to pile up up to a week b4 they usually transfers to Pretoria, Docs goes to Pretoria every Friday of same week or Monday the following week. So shame nor go make dem contact you make person nor go say dem dey incompetent. They face more of UK applications more than oz. Oz use to have few applications and less money for them. ukdave: Seems the Australian Immigration was set up to teach patience and perserverance because once you lodge your application you are kept in the dark until they contact you. After contacting teleperformance and sending two emails without response, I've left the matter in God's hand. So be prayerful and just keep praising God for a good response. I also heard this season is busy because they start a new year in July and so on and so forth.... |

My idea is actually to discourage newbies not to bother you, else you will have more work to do. Your I.D is a popular one on NL and we appreciate you doing the good work. As we respond to posts, we also try to protect the interests of the site owners/admin as well as appreciate the good works and the concepts you have. In that sense, we try to correct any little errors that will cause the opposite/menace, eg, correct newbies from using Capital Letters in all Sentences, too much spaces, unnecessary long posts that will eat up pages and spaces, etc. That's just the spirit. It's a lovely thread and we enjoy it here justwise: [/b]
Obviously you are wrong, i deliberately hid your post so as to hear from him first.
I think i have an idea why he made that comment but i will bite my tongue for now.
lawland answered that question without minding the fact that my ID was mentioned, that is the spirit that exist in other threads here. |

You don't need to cc Justwise. It is not necessary. Do a 2yrs program. With that you will qualify. I will suggest you a an Advance Diploma if possible. gbaskipro: Hello guys, i sincerly need an advice. I am applying for a tafe program which is 18 months, can I qualify for a PR after? If yes which route? Hope the minimum 2 years won't hinder my getting a PR? Any advice pls

My program is Bsc in Nursing and my Campus is at Melbourne Campus. I will therefore opt for 189 on completion of my program and retain the plan of completing my course in Melbourne. I pasted my email for you to contact so that I can have your contact. I have applied for my Visa and plan to arrive Melbourne in Nov. (erictack2003@gmail.com) Thanks alot for your assistance so far. God will bless you. izykvision0: I won't advice u to plan for Victoria state sponsorship, if u still av d option of 189 or other states. Victoria is choosy and should only be used if they are the only route to obtaining PR. Since the situation is still under ur control, plan properly. |

@izykvision0, Hello my brother, My School currently placed me in Melbourne, they also have campus in Ballarat, so am thinking since Melbourne is not a Regional City to gain State Sponsorship, I am thinking of changing my Campus to Ballarat where the School also has her Campus. Now my Question is if there are Job opportunities in Ballarat for Students and will one be qualified for State Sponsorship if studied there? izykvision0: Sorry didn't see your message and a bit confused how the messaging works on nairaland. You can as well post it here, will respond.
Ballarat is fine only if your Uni or work is around that axis. If not, it i will take you like 2hrs 30mins or more to get to the CBD; its quite FAR.
