PORTHARCOURT- NIGER Delta Avengers, NDA, shifted its hostilities from Delta State to Rivers State, Wednesday, blowing up a Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pipeline at Eleme leading to the Nigeria Liquefied National Gas, NLNG in the state.

The militant group claimed responsibility to the church, saying on its Facebook page Niger Delta Avengers: “By 3.00 am, yesterday, strike team 2, carried out a major strike, bombing NNPC pipeline at Eleme leading to NLNG. You won’t stop us.”

Meanwhile, the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force, JNDLF, yesterday, threatened to set seven flow stations ablaze in Bayelsa state.

However, the Egbesu Boys of Niger Delta, a militant group said that the ongoing warfare in the Niger Delta region was an Ijaw fight for self-determination and not Niger Delta struggle as generally assumed by many.

Before the Rivers attack, NDA daringly posted at about 8.12 pm on its Facebook page: “Another major pipe about to go up in flames! Brass, LNG, Boom.”

It said any attack by the Nigeria Ahirmy might result to human casualties but the group does not want to take life, otherwise, it would have dared the army.

“”For every life you take, we take two. We have our reason, we play cool, we are ready, and we must cripple the economy. Boom, Share,” the group added.

A security officer has confirmed the Sunday morning explosions in Warri Delta state.

The officer said the explosion happened simultaneously.

According to him “I just spoke with my men in the area and they confirmed the attack,” the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“Preliminary investigations so far from our men in the field is that dynamite was used to blow up the facilities just like in previous attacks.”

Nigerian oil militant group the Niger Delta Avengers on Sunday claimed five attacks on the country’s oil and gas infrastructure in a revival of their sabotage campaign after a recent lull.

Since early this year, the Avengers have been bombing pipelines as they fight to win the Niger delta region a bigger share of crude revenue and greater political autonomy.

The sabotage is hitting the economy — the central bank governor has warned a recession is “imminent” — as the country is struggling with lower revenue as a result of the low global price of oil.

In a series of statements posted on Twitter, the Avengers claimed that they bombed the state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) crude oil trunk line on Friday, and two Nigerian Petroleum Development Company trunk lines in Delta state.

Avengers also said that on Sunday they bombed two Chevron oil wells in Delta state.

Regional leader Eric Omare confirmed the Friday attack on the NNPC pipeline saying people living in the fishing villages dotting the winding mangrove creeks heard the attacks.

“Yes, I got calls from locals in the area who heard the blast,” Ijaw Youth Council spokesman Omare said.

The attacks break a relative lull in violence and show that the Avengers are still capable of strangling Nigeria’s oil production.

Last month, junior oil minister and NNPC head Emmanuel Kachikwu visited Niger delta communities and President Muhammadu Buhari met with a delegation of community leaders and promised to “rebuild” the region.

But despite rumours of truce talks, the Avengers denied putting attacks on hold, saying their “high command never remembers having any agreement on ceasefire with the Nigeria government.”

The Avengers, who are believed to be highly skilled former rebels with insider knowledge of the region’s oil and gas infrastructure, have warned against repairing the pipelines until their demands are met.

“What is certain is that the Avengers are now being taken very seriously, as they have been credible in following through with their threats,” Rhidoy Rashid, a London-based analyst at Energy Aspects, told AFP.

“The attacks have been well-planned and cleverly executed, and have demonstrated a level of sophistication exceeding typical attacks on oil infrastructure in the Delta.”

Reports from National dailies that two suspects Mr Christian Oluba alias Sensor, and Selky Kile Torughedi arrested by DSS are alleged members of Niger Delta Avengers is laughable, the fact is they are sleeper agents of the DSS sent after the Niger Delta Avengers.
The boys has the right to demand for their money from DSS, why not pay them instead of arresting and labeling them as Niger Delta Avengers members.
If DSS are denying this, let them allow the suspects to speak to the press. We (Niger Dleta Avengers) don’t have any connection with these boys. We dare the DSS to allow the boys to tell the world their side of the story.
DSS and Nigeria Army can’t win the Niger Delta war by feeding their President with false information about situation of things in the Region. It’s all-good because as it seems the DSS is now having internal crisis with most of their sleeper agents and it a sign that God is on our side.

Despite the warning by the Niger Delta Avengers, the Federal Government has started repairing the damaged pipelines in the oil rich region.

“We are going to redirect and reactivate all our activities if the government, oil companies and their services firms do not heed these modest warnings of not carrying out repair works and suspend the buying of crude oil from our region, as we await the right atmosphere that will engender genuine dialogue,” the militant group had warned in June.

Community sources told Vanguard that soldiers were escorting badges, tugboats loaded with equipment and personnel heading for the repairs of the damaged facility of NGC, a subsidiary of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, on Sunday.

Chairman of Kunukunuma Federated Communities, Chief Moses Bebenimibo, who confirmed the development, said the contractor carrying out the maintenance, Melcurt Nigeria Limited, did not involve the host community.

Bebenimibo accused the Federal Government of being interested only on the oil that flows in the communities and not the well-being of the people, adding: “They are good in using the military to always intimidate and subdue us in matters that affect us as a people from this end.”

Dr. Samson Ayokunle has said he foresaw his election to lead Christians in Nigeria in 2015. The cleric, who is the newly elected president of

the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari, to “maintain balance and keep close to constitution”, irrespective of his religious affiliation to avoid opening the door for lawlessness in the society, also criticised the enlistment of Nigeria into a coalition under the aegis of Organisation of Islamic Countries.

Ayokunle, president of Nigerian Baptist Convention, made the revelation in an interview with journalists immediately after his election last week in Abuja. It was in reaction to some national issues, including the killing of an Igbo business woman in Kano and tack on a Christian in Kaduna for allegedly eating during Ramadan.

He said, “Well, in one of these nights in October 2015, when I was doing my holiday in Houston, Texas with my wife, I had a dream that I participated in CAN presidential election and I saw a bloc that is not mine, voting for me enmass. And I woke my wife up and I said, ‘Mummy, am I going to be a candidate in CAN’s election’? “And she said, ‘no you are not going to be in Jesus Name’. I asked ‘why’ and she said, ‘the trouble there is too much, I don’t want you for that type of trouble’. I said, ‘well life is a sacrifice and I don’t think God is a joker, He doesn’t joke.’ God is communicating something to us and I don’t think we need to reply through emotion, we need to be serious and go into serious prayers to know the mind of God concerning this matter.”

According to him, Islamic leaders should mentor their children properly and ascertain who is “radicalising their children and turning them into murderers” and be able to teach what is right, to reduce religious intolerance. Dr. Ayokunle said, “Whenever the government is not upholding the sanctity of the constitution in terms of the secularity of our existence, the church must speak out without fear of favour. For example, we have been talking of OIC. Does the government of Nigeria have the right to take the country into OIC? Is it in keeping with the spirit of the constitution? No and when you continue to pull people, the limit is to push them to the wall, if you have been telling people to move and they move to the wall and you are still telling them move, where do you want them to move to?

“So the government of Nigeria should not take things for granted and think that Christians are fools and they will be seen to be promoting one religion above the other or favor one religion to the detriment of the other. Whenever we see that, we are going to tell them to be very careful and we are going to speak out. When you are not from the bush, you are not a beast, how can you just behave like that? What is Nigeria becoming in the name of religion? “So these are the things we must all rise to condemn. Since nobody has monopoly to guns and violence, we should not continue to provoke people. There is a theory in psychology that instigation to aggression depends on the degree of frustration. If you continue to frustrate a people they may end up becoming aggressive, we don’t want that state.”

As for travelling to America, I havent done so either, and have no intention of doing so, and I know for sure that I did not wire any money to Jefferson. Not travelling somewhere is not evidence of anything.
