I got your point. Those folks in government and their godfathers are demons. Had slightly similar experience with a tech I developed that would help people avoid buying land that belong to the government. In all honesty, the main guy leading the office responsible was all in buy its someone who happened to be a fake "pal" that work directly with the governor that talked (behind my back) say "land na territory of their forefather on Bourdillon Street" and it's a no go area. So it's okay if people continue to lose billions every year. Not surprised though. That's the way it goes in Lagos. About the Epe Airport thing, the problem has more to do with the fact that there is already a federal airport in Lagos.
You're right there are 2 Fed airports in Lagos but our population and proximity suggest to me that we need one for our state. Lagos is unofficially 21m in population. You can draw the population of 3 African countries from it. London City alone had 5 major airports Heathrow, Gatwick( owned and operated by our own, Mr. Ogunlesi), Stansted, Southend and London City Airports and they are all busy. In population, Lagos almost trippled London so, we will be fine with a state owned airport. Don't also forget that our population is increasing. That Epe is another lekki in the making, with the way people are thronging there now. The airport would also serve a significant part of ogun state. They're not just serious ni. Happy new year.

If Lagos does not build an airport, it may be because
they do not need one for now.
The Anambra airport will be underutilized and
won't be profitable if you think about how much it costs to run an airport

The one in Ibadan, Oyo State which is three
time Anambra has a flight or two in a week.
You can argue though, that there will be traffic for Anambra Lagos

As for the sharing of profit, your guy did not tell you the whole truth.
It must be joint financing, and Lagos would be daft not to share in the profit.

In things like this there Lagos only has to send a person to understudy
for a month and buy the boats with people to maintain.

This is not a refinery brother.
Who told you that Lagos does not need one?. Do you know the population of those living in lagos alone? Lagos state is more populated than 3 or more counties in Africa put together. It wouldn't be a bad idea if the local airport being used for campaign every 4 years is allowed to come on steam, to serve those on the island and part of ogun residents. On Anambra Airport, I beg to differ. By the time its in full operation, they'd be wondering why they didn't build it much earlier. Asaba airport is a case study. Many criticised them when they were building it and now, more flights have been added. Its now one of the busiest airports in the region.

On ibadan airport at alakia side, its now getting busy too even though its owned by FG. Lagos needs it more than any other state. Do we have the population? Yes! Will the state govt generate revenues? Yes! When obj came and the MM2 was being discussed,.they told him lagos wouldn't need another local wing. Go to MM2 now and see wonder. We shouldn't be thinking backward

I and a friend of mine met with one of the close associates of the Imo State governor (Hope Uzodimma) so he'll help us get access to the governor to submit a proposal that would've greatly helped the security situation in the state. The man told us that, while our idea was great, he has to be honest with us and told us that if the government doesn't see an avenue to use the proposal to collect funds, they wont approve it.
I was disgusted. That was where everything ended

Misplaced priorities. Polytechnic education isn't similar to that of university. It's only in Nigeria they discriminate. Their curricula are also different. Instead of upgrading it into university, why not equip it and introduce modern courses like coding and robotic engineering? This is what happens when you put a round peg in a square hole.

Lolz. Welcome to Nigeria, welcome to lasgidi. He must have drained his battery while in traffic. Next time he would seek Google map help on traffic situation per route before he steps out.

This is one of the reasons I say Nigeria isn't progressing. 4th mainland bridge and lagos owned airport which Tinubu had been using to campaign since 1999 are a mirage. I'm sure they'd still use the same to campaign to gullible lagosians come 2023 and they'd believe them hook line and sinker. Our mumu go do one day. They know how to catch you people with lies. The earlier you guys join us in chasing them away, the better. Lagos had become their business centre.

We wouldn't have been facing terrible traffic in lagos today, had Pa janakde been allowed by buhari in the 80s to complete the lagos lite rail which is neither here nor there today. Successive governments would mount a few pillars of the lite rail and leave. They keep using it to campaign but the same man can own 3 private jets and his blind supporters would say there's nothing bad about it.

My friend came from the UK to help with Lagos water transportation during fahola regime, he looked at the proposal and pushed it aside. This guy works in same company in the UK as a senior manager and the British company promised to finance it 100% that he should come and do the ground work at home.

Long story cut short, this guy's proposal was plagiarised by those in government then but they got stuck due to lack of financing. They now bought 2 boats for this purpose which plied ikorodu-island route.

Sanwoolu government invited him and had a chat with this guy. He staged a walk out after they said the profit would be shared 60/40. What a state undecided

In my friend's proposal, he wanted to ensure that both buman and vehicles were ferried from Island to mainland. In that proposal, one ferry would convey over 1000 passengers at a time. Very robust one. But because they wanted to short change him, he dropped the idea and left. That's the way lagos rolls. They're anti-people. They didn't consider the relief such a project would have had on lagosians.

Shame in our government. The replica of the proposed lagos airport to be cited around lekki which they've been using to campaign since 1999 was what Anambra who doesn't have up to half of lagos revenues had done in less than 4 years without making noise , bayelsa too. We will get sense one day .

Presidency should go to the south as agreed upon, during the merger of political parties in 2015. It's only by so doing would we believe buhari can walk his talk
PoliticsIf You're From The South But Opposed To Direct Primaries, Your Slot Is Gone by Eriokanmi(op): 6:21pm On Dec 30, 2021
It's an indisputable fact that dirty politics are alteady at play amongst the APC especially on who becomes the party's flag bearer in the 2023 presidential elections. Buhari isn't interested in handing over power to a southerner, come 2023 and the body language is clear. If you come from the southern part and still praising the president over his refusal to sign the electoral bill into law, you're an enemy of the region. Topmost on the list of Buhari's preferred candidates according to a reliable source is Abubakar Malami. The major opposition of the direct primaries clause is Malami himself who advised buhari against it and its because of his presidential ambition. The Mai Mala Buni being there in that position is a pioitical calculation in favour of malami and this is very glaring.

When they doled out billions of naira for school feeding programme and tradermoni against people's wish, it wasn't much and reckless in nature to the apc. When they said they'd share 200bn fuel subsidy among Nigerians as relief on transport, the move which received lots of criticisms from well meaning Nigerians. The apc never said it was too much. How can they claim they spend 150bn naira to subsidise petrol but say they'd spend 200bn subsidy money which was in the excess of 50bn as transport relief, which we know would end up in individual pockets like the school feeding money which was still being disbursed during lockdown when all the beneficiaries, the student were with their parents at home? Then the money wasn't much to the apc. But when it comes to direct primaries, it's was said to be very expensive in nature. I wonder how some Nigerians think at times when they suoport these people.

As if that wasn't enough, when they went ahead and borrowed money to finance some projects which people kicked against, being way to much, when compared to same amount spent to finance similar projects elsewhere in the world, they didn't say it was much. When over 2bn usd was announced to be spent on procurement of ammunition from our foreign reserves, with only tucano aircraft to show for it, they never complained that it was too much rather, they told us to bear with them.

Buhari would shock many in 2023 when he hands over to malami, his AGF. We shouldn't firget that every member of the apc knows where they belong based on the party formation of 2015. Those who would join buhari in presenting malami are in the ANPP/CPC caucus, who were among those who formed the apc. On this note, I'd not mind doing everything possible in supporting my number one enemy in lagos in person of tinubu or Peter obi or umahi presidential ambition even though umahi would end up being their errand boi, anything that wouldn't make us lose the slot is welcome. To those saying president coming from any region doesn't necessarily favour the region, GEJ and buhari had proved you wrong. Its getting to that point where we must begin to fight for our right else , we'd lose the slot to north west where Malami comes from.

On the PDP's side, I don't see the party picking a southern candidate. From a reliable source they're considering either Bukola saraki from north central or Tambuwal and once this works out, the south has lost out gallantly in her presidential bid. PDP or APC may console south with a VP slot, who VP epp? The direct primaries frowned at, was a move to favour malami. Mark today, people. I'm open to criticisms but please be civil.

Words of a Typical Yoruba coward, Is there no oil in Ondo state? Why is the state not like Dubai now? Is the state not far more backward than other Niger delta states? You Yorubas on this forum lack basic decorum and intellect which is expected of adults in a civilized society. You will just be opening your mouth whaaaaaa like foul yansh.
See this one. We won't explore the ondo and Lagos Oil to the maximum capacity yet and that's where we are wiser than you all. Lagos exploration hasn't even cimmenced yet. Mention any Niger delta state that's more developed than ondo state in spite of the huge allocation at their disposal. I'm waiting. We have the 2nd largest deposit of bitumen in the world, in same ondo state. Google is your friend. Its for the future. If you know, you know.

Your post is a clear indication that we're wiser and smarter than you guys. We are talking of first oil discovery but you completely deviated from the fact, only harping on the aftermath of oil discovery in Nigeria. If we could do so much in our region from proceeds from cocoa, had the oil been first discovered in our region, our region wouldn't have taken any of the shiits you guys took, thereby cause your region to be so destroyed, impoverished and the multinationals abandoned cleaning up the region. Truth is bitter, you know and that's what I'd like you to come to terms with. There are oil companies' head quarters in our region and we made them develop and take charge of environmental hazards caused by them. Have you been to Lekki and VI before? Go see them there. They're well behaved and that's what makes the difference between the 2 regions. I remember the day I visited Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital in okolobiri, which looks like a glorified health centre. No meaningful development there. The population of okolobiri isn't up to 30k yet, no single street light there and there's an NLNG facility there flaring gas. No.good hotel, people relied on generator and i asked them why were they so backward, they said their people who collect royalties from the oil companies live in abuja and only give them crumbs. Such nonsense won't happen here.
