Police arrest two nurses for child trafficking in Katsina Kaduna state police command has arrested two nurses for allegedly trafficking a newly born baby girl in the state.

The Spokesman of the State Police Command, Gambo Isah, confirmed the report.

He said the nurses, identified as Misira Tijjani and Grace Ejigu were arrested on July 28 after a tip-off.

They reportedly conspired and sold the child to one 45-year-old Eucharia Onyema of Sabuwar Kasuwa quarters in the state.

NCDC daily reports: Nigeria records 304 new cases. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that 304 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the country on Sunday, August 2, 2020, Ekohotblog reports.

The agency also added that five deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to eight hundred and eighty-eight (888).

According to reports shared on Twitter by the NCDC, Nigeria’s Covid-19 cases hits 43,841 with Lagos leading the toll.

The lifeless body of a woman identified as Nafisa Ibrahim was found dead in her room, a single room apartment in Mahuta, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna.

Also, the 38-year-old woman’s husband, Nuhu, a security guard, is allegedly on the run as his wife relations have accused him of killing her.

The Lagos State Government has said it would soon rehabilitate its dilapidated estates across the state to avert the collapse of the buildings that might result in loss of lives and property.

Mr Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, Commissioner for Housing, said this in a statement signed by Mrs Adeola Salako, Spokesperson, Lagos State Ministry of Housing.

Nigeria on July 19, 2020, recorded 556 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of positive cases in the country to 36,663.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this on Sunday night via its official Twitter handle.

According to the report, the 556 new cases were recorded from 18 states.

NCDC noted that Edo state led the toll with 104 cases followed by Lagos with 97 cases. NCDC statement read,
