Nollywood actress, Lilan Afegbai has reacted to the allegation leveled against her mother, Carol Afegbai that she killed a UNIBEN student Ibrahim Momodu in 2013.

Taking to her Instagram page, the actress wrote that her mother was absolved of the crime and the officer that was involved, one Amadin Idahosa was sentenced to life in prison.

Nigerians have blasted the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, for his comment on EndSARS.

Dingyadi, Sunday night, reacted to the disbandment of the police unit by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

The minister said, “I urge Nigerians to see the disbandment of SARS, as government’s commitment to deepening relationship between Nigerians and the police, for better service delivery.

“Let’s continue to work together to secure our communities”, he tweeted. Hundreds of respondents expressed shock that Nigeria had a Police Minister.

They rejected Dingyadi’s submission and asked where he was while the notorious SARS unit operated with impunity.

Fidelity Bank Board of directors has announced the appointment of Mr. Henry Ikem Obih, and Dr. Kenneth Onyewuchi Opara as new directors.

According to the company’s official statement, Henry Ikem Obih whose appointment started on September 21, 2020, is the Independent Non-Executive Director while Dr. Kenneth Onyewuchi Opara will be an Executive Director.

A video making rounds on social media have captured the moment, some alleged SARS officers broke into the home of some ladies, made away with their hair.

From the videos recorded by one of the ladies, the officers were seen shouting at the girls to keep quiet after they confronted them for searching their wardrobe.

After the officers had finished their search, they left with one of the girl’s hair as one of the ladies kept shouting her hair as they made their way out.

A Nigerian boyfriend has called his girlfriend ungrateful for charging his mom for making her hair in same hair dressing salon he paid for.

According to the narrative, the boyfriend whose name was not disclosed said he asked his mom to make hair at his GF’s shop.

He later found out that his mom paid for her service despite the fact that he opened the shop for her.

When he confronted his girlfriend to know why she charged his mom knowing fully well she’s her future mother-in-law, she said she wasn’t ready to mix business with pleasure.

The boyfriend was quick to remind her that he helped her set up the salon by paying for its rent, provides for her needs and shouldn’t have charged his mom.

A Twitter user, identified as @yourmydad has accused SARS officers of harassing and forcing him into their bus.

According to the narration he shared on Twitter, the men of Sars department of the Police Force intercepted the Uber ride he ordered.

He said the officers carried out an intensive search on him, and found nothing incriminating.

The twitter user added that despite finding nothing on him, the officers still went ahead to push him into their bus, and also demanded N1million afterwards.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has revealed that it would not post any National Youth Service Corps member to troubled areas in Ondo State as ad-hoc staff during the governorship election.

The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has confirmed the arrest of suspected killers of a traditional ruler in Foron district of Barkin Ladi Local government area of the state.

Lalong assured that the perpetrators and their sponsors would soon be brought before the law and his administration will not fail to protect lives and properties.

The Governor, while speaking at a one-day roundtable discussion with community stakeholders to commemorate the 60th Independence anniversary at Government House Rayfield, Jos, said; “No amount of blackmail and desperation will deter us from this task as such we would not fold our arms and allow some unscrupulous elements to truncate the peace in the Plateau.

“We have drawn the battle line with criminals and together with security agencies remain steadfast in securing our state,” he reiterated.

Lalong said a peacebuilding agency has been established to engage with long-standing issues of conflicts while also acting proactively to de-escalate tensions through facilitation of systematic dialogue between conflict parties or communities. Lalong said Nigeria has made great achievements having weathered the storm to forge a common destiny.

Lalong called on Nigerians not to despair but “deploy our human and material resources for the common good of Nigeria.”

Popular Nigerian artiste, Rema has called out the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over the death of his father, Justice Ikubor.

Rema in a series of tweet via his Twitter page made the shocking revelation. Justice Ikubor before his death was a high-ranking member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State and former General Manager of the state-owned Ethiope Publishing Company.

It was gathered that Rema’s father was reportedly found dead in a room at Bins Hotel in Benin City in 2008.

His lifeless body was found in the room with empty cans of energy drink but the lady whom he reportedly checked into the hotel left before his body was found dead the next morning.

However, Rema in one of his tweets on his Twitter page on Monday said the PDP owes him an explanation of what happened to his father in that hotel room.

Rema wrote: “PDP you all need to explain what happened to my father in that hotel room. “Justice Ikubor’s son has risen.”

Severe fire explosion rocks Ajuwon area of Iju, Lagos State. The incident happened at exactly 3:30pm this afternoon, Thursday, September 24, 2020.

An eyewitness who broke the news to Ekohotblog.com said the explosion was from a gas plant in Ajuwon area, close to Iju, Lagos.

Although we have not confirmed the number of casualties recorded from the incident, but the videos sent to us shows that some people have sustained injuries.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Agency, Nosa Okunbor, said, “LASEMA Response Team is at Cele Bus Stop, Iju Ishaga.

The four former staff of Signatious Hotel in Warri, Delta State, who were allegedly stripped naked by the hotel owner and former Minister, Kenneth Gbagi, have demanded the sum of N1bn and a public apology from him as compensation for the humiliation.

The four former employees made this known in a letter drafted by their legal counsel Kunle Edun. In a letter dated September 23, the four employees namely Mr Victor Ephraim, Gloria Oguzie, Mrs. Precious Achibong, Roselyn Okiemute Diaghwarhe, said their arrest was unjust.

The letter connotes that the four were stripped naked on the orders of the ex-minister because of the tips a guest who lodged at the hotel for four days gave to them on his departure on August 20, 2020.

A Magistrate Court sitting in Akure has remained seven suspected political thug for alleged possession of firearms.

The suspects were apprehended by a security agent on Ikaro road, Ifon headquarters of Ose Local Government Area on September 19, 2020, while allegedly parading the town with a branded campaign vehicle.

According to the Director of Public Prosecution, Grace Olowoporoku, the suspects were caught with locally made single and double barrel guns totaling seven with live cartridges and thereby committing a felony contrary to and punishable under section 3 (1) of the robbery and firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap R11 Vol. 14 Law of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

The Nigerian embassy in Switzerland allegedly called police on Nigerian citizens in the country after they demanded their passports.

This was confirmed in a video recording making rounds on the internet.

According to the video reporter, whose name was not mentioned, the Nigerian embassy in Switzerland had called on the police to throw out Nigerians who came to the embassy to demand their passport.
