morgang: Not sure if anyone has addressed your question yet. But let me chip in my one kobo-
Check BGSU website- department of English, I assure you, if you meet up with the requirements, you will get admitted. A friend who just graduated with an MA in English tipped 3 of his ex classmates and they are here now.
However, my suggestion is not limited to BGSU. Do your homework and you’ll realize that even Music department has funding.
Kindly remember that writing a GRE and maybe English proficiency increase your chances of admission.
Goodluck May God Almighty bless you. Thanks for this. |

lilsmart: The world is a brutal place and if me being brutal means I lack emotional intelligence then you're not ready for the real world. If you're looking for sugar coated advice the whole time then you're still not ready for life. I made a speculation based on what he wrote and boom I'm a bagger because I wasn't all like "don't worry God will follow you next time, take heart yada yada" And we wonder why Nigeria is the way it is. We are different people and will give different advice on certain matters in different ways. I'll repeat it again "his attention seeking shifting might have been a factor" key word "might have". We are not so different to the ones saying you’re “uncouth rude blah blah blah we are all baggers Las Las so in your mind now they’ve given it to me? Lols I'm sure people here can't even give honest, blunt and brutal input because people like you will come out roaring like mad tigers. Peace! |

EffectEn: People have posted stories of getting fully funded for English, French, communication and counselling on previous threads.
Not on this thread, but there was a story of Fulbright scholarships for Yoruba teachers.
At least I'm certain of the English one in this thread. Buckle up and do the work, by God's grace you'd get it
Thanks for the eye-opening reply!
I appreciate it.
Kindly link me to the previous thread. It won't be out of place if I go there and learn from previous transcripts. It would go a long way towards getting myself fortified for the journey ahead.
Well, I've submitted some applications for Spring 2022.
Wouldn't you mind sending you a PM?
Thanks! |

haywhy17: well, I think you wrong. Someone has posted about English studies here and with funding. She also got her Visa approved. Wow! Master's? I've not come across any. Oh! I remember. I saw someone who posted on behalf of a friend. But I never took him serious because he was so economical with details. |

PLEASE ANYONE CONCERNED SHOULD REPLY.
I've been on this platform for nearly two months. Yet I can't see anyone applying for language courses, especially English.
I've gone through this part 16 from the beginning to 90, no applications for language courses at all.
I will be grateful if any applicants who applied for language courses can signify.
This is the second time I've asked this question.
It seems graduate schools are dominated by science and social sciences.
Same thing I observed on LinkedIn.
Thanks in anticipation. |

Vahn: you really lack emotional intelligence, some of you are just stupidly dumb and inexperienced, but you make things up in your head and spill out the nonsense. You can always keep quiet when you have nothing meaningful to say. Do you know all it takes to get to this point of getting interviewed? Do you know the amount of strength it takes for a person who got denied to talk about the denial Do you know how devastating being denied visa takes ? If you have nothing meaningful to say just keep quiet! And move on!
Many of you are so uncouth! You just want to be noticed by all means! God bless you!!! The guy's comment is the most nauseatingly senseless comment I've ever seen here!!! Wicked! Senseless! Nonsensical! |

There's something I find 'funny' here.
Imagine when someone who needs one's assistance asks one to reach him on his email. You mean someone helping you should be the one to reach out to you? O wrong na.
Expecting that is like waiting for the Nigerian Airways flight to fly you from Nigeria to London. Where would you get that from?
If you need someone's assistance, send a PM. Nairaland would communicate to him via his email. If he decides to help, he'll reply to your email for further correspondence.
The better we communicate, the more we see helpers. |

BabsofAbj247: Visa approved.
VO: What school are you going to? Me: Stated the name of my school VO: How many schools did you apply to? Me: Told him the schools I applied to VO: What program are you going for? Me: Stated my program (Masters) VO: What do you intend to use the program for? Me: Upon the completion of my program, I intend to come back to Nigeria to focus on at my company. In addition, I intend to use the knowledge obtained from my masters to improve my start-up. VO: What do you do currently? Me: Explained in detail the nature of my job and the companies I have worked with VO: Wow VO: How do you intend to fund the program, I can see you got some scholarship? Me: I would be using my savings and MPOWER. In addition, my uncle would provide financial assistance. VO: What does your uncle do: Me: Told VO the companies my uncle own VO: I would be approving your VISA blah blah blah
It is very important to know what you have on your DS-160 form. While I was talking about the things I do for my Company, the VO kept looking at the screen to verify what I said.
I hope this helps. Good luck. Mr. Man, this is vaguely scanty! Undetailed! This shows that when some people made it in life, they would burn the bridge that made them cross the river so that others wouldn't be able to join them!!!! |
