Yes, I secured alot of admissions, tuition waivers and all that...but I got a GA with one of them. Mind you, I couldn't apply to all of them because of one reason or another. Could be official transcript or TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo or they didn't have a program I like.

One more question though. Pls how did you manage the issue of recommendation letters. Will those professors have time to send letters to all these schools? I had to explain to one that it's more than a school. They seem too busy.

Application to schools isn't the problem; the problem is how to inform professors to be sending LOR to your schools. Out of the three recommenders, only one gave me almost immediately.

The other ones are just too busy.

Themaths:
Last year, most schools waived application fees for fall 2021 and Spring 2022. I just hope it will be the same fall 2022.

How I got the app fee waivers.
1. Well composed email to the grad/program coordinator.
2. Nairaland, Twitter, LinkedIn.
3. Friends in the US.

You can get 5k in Lugbe. But it may not be close to the embassy.

I work with Providusbank and you can get PTA from our Abuja branch in Wuse 2. All you need are:
1. Copy of your international Passport with the visa.
2. A copy of your Flight ticket

Go to Zone 4, plenty of them!

Most cases, they will ask you to type the letter, give you letter head to print and scan it and forward it to them. They will then do the needful.

I'm far from my alma mater. Hope I can get a soft copy of the letter head. I'll just get it printed if possible. Then I'll forward it with the contents.

Ogundipe realised that no junior officers were in his support! When he gave an order to make a safe landing for Ironsi, the officers sent were ambushed. When he tried to send other officers, they declined! So he sensed mutiny.

Let me remind you.You can't declare yourself without internal support. Obasanjo was able to declare himself because TY Danjuma and Sheu Musa Yaradua were in his support. They emboldened him.

Did you know that Murtala and other junior officers were looking for him before they could ask Yakubu Gowon to take over? They wanted him to hand over peacefully. They never wanted him to assume the position.

So when Ogundipe realised that he was not safe again, he left the country in the midnight. Until then Gowon was able to become Head of State.

My question borders on the LOR. The information on the website says:

"Three confidential letters of recommendation sent directly to the School of Graduate Studies by their recommenders."

Going by the above message in quotation marks, take note of the word "confidential", it means that my recommenders will write the letters and forward it to the mail of School Grad. Studies".

I would like to hear from anyone who has applied to the school.

Is there anyone who has applied to Western Illinois University? I don't know if IELTS or TOEFL is waved. It seems it's compulsory, according to the information on the school website.

See the parts of the requirements below:

"International applicants to the program have a TOEFL score of at least 100 (IBT) or an IELTS score of at least 7.5. Applicants who do not meet these scores can still be considered for admission based on their performance in an interview with the Director of Graduate Studies in English."

I cannot say there is a standard. But some pretty good work experience would make your application fly high, especially if the experiences align with your current graduate course of study.

You can list the schools your friend got accepted to that gave him funding. You might be helping someone.
