lolawilliams:Needless bloviations. I made it a habit to post here more when GSW were 3-1down just to dispel any ideas that I was here for the good times. It was at that same point people who only take note of stats were screaming joke of the century. That same joke has GSW leading 2-1 now. Again, I came here again to announce that GSW will win the first two home games and drop game 3 but will pick up 4 and 5. This was the same time some people made noise and went ghost after the 33pt blow-out loss. Again I made it a habit to post more during GSWs loss for the very same purpose. Now watch a real bandwagoner have Internet issues on Saturday morning. We are waiting ![]() |
SIRcumalot:2014 following the world basketball competition in Brazil in which Kyrie was adjudged player of the Tourney. Klay and Curry were in that team. But that's not what makes anyone a bandwagoner as anyone can become a fan of any team at any time. My issue with some people is how they only seem to support that team when they are winning. They just hop on the wagon when the going is good and runoff at the slightest look of danger. I know you are a United fan. I don't see you hide when United loses a game only to show up when they win one and start claiming to be a fan. It is laughable. |
Bobbieydeey:Yes o. They are guaranteed to steal one of the home games. They have done so all year. |
Bobbieydeey:The memes will work best when GSW are in a losing position, like when OKC were 3-1 up, not when you are playing a team that is guaranteed to steal one of your home games. |
lolawilliams:You are 100% a bandwagoner. It will be difficult for anybody to take your banter here seriously again and I know I do not speak for myself when I say so. James Harden dropped 35 in Rockets game 3 win. Lillard dropped 36 or 40 (I forget) in PTBs game 3 win. Durant and Westbrook put up such numbers in game 3 as well. What should worry you is that the MVP has not played well, neither has Klay yet your team is down. I asked you a question before, how many games do you think Curry and Klay would go without doing 30+? Remove game 5 because that one is a given. The answer is in game 4. That's the game that should worry you. |
Congrats to the Cavs. They needed to put up a showing for their solitary win of this finals and I am glad they did. Ofcourse I called it days back and ofcourse, I didn't waste my time watching the game at all. It is a good thing Curry flopped this game as well: sets up game 4 to be as explosive as all parties would need it to be. GSW aiming to douse any growing hope of the Cavs supporters. Cavs trying to even the series. Curry trying to put his underwhelming NBA finals performances to bed etc. Well set-up. But I need to remind the Cavs that both Rockets and the Blazers won their first home games of the series and would eventually lose the whole series in 5. I do not dislike the Cavs to that extent as to wish them bad but it appears the same fate will befall them. Brother Skywalker said he thought GSW will win game 3 and then Cavs 4, but it would never have worked out that way, because had GSW won game 3, there would have been no motivation for the Cavs players or fans alike to be looking forward to a game 5 at the Oracle, so the series would have been a sweep- which the NBA wouldn't even want. I am calling it again, just incase some people want to claim they didn't see it: GSW will win games 4 and 5. There is no game 6 in this series. It is the way the history books were recorded. "KD didn't win a ring, Lebron faffed around AGAIN. I just couldn't tell who got the ring "- Eruditor, May 2016 |
As much as it hurts me to say, GSW will lose game 3 due to some degree of complacency. It will be a close loss maybe by 1pt. Then they will sit up in game 4 and make it 3-1 and then wrap it up at the Oracle in game 5. God knows I am not trying to talk smack. I said it here that OKC was the real NBA finals and not Cavs. I am not trying to disparage them, but I figured since Rockets and PTB stole a game from GSW, then it won't be too much to expect Cavs to do same. Again I repeat, Cavs are playing against destiny. A team that all the ESPN and TNT analysts didn't even nominate to repeat as champions. A team that when 3-1 down to OKC, people started scoffing at. A 73-win team. NB: I didn't watch the game at all. That's how confident I was that they would win the game. I will rewatch the game later in the evening. Let me even read up on how it went. ![]() |
SIRcumalot:LOL. No wahala |
Donlittle, I am so sorry for your loss. Can't imagine losing my old man. God is your strength. |
Skywalker5:What is painful is, he as well as 4 others earn more than Curry on that same team. I feel for him because he is an asset in a way. But he can easily be replaced. |
SIRcumalot:I love this pic. Do you know why? You picked the one part of the stat that favors Bron, and not the most important part. Stat also shows that each time Bron lost game 1 to a team, he ended up losing the final. ![]() Truth be told, I feel for the Cavs because they have put up a decent showing all season. The only problem is, just like OKC, they are playing against destiny. |
lolawilliams:There are certain players you can't shut down. You can only force them to make tougher shots while you live with the consequence. The consequences of such decision-making may mean they will have mismatches somewhere else that your team will pay for, or that the said players in question will make those tough shots and you'd just have to accept it. When you say Klay and Steph combined for 4-13 from the 3pt line, you fail to admit that 8 of those 13 had them literally uncontested- which means the ball movement was good enough to see those players get a chance to shoot open 3s (which Lue tried to play against). If Curry happens to miss those shots, it is not necessarily because of good defence, but because any one can be off rhythm on any day and thereby miss easy shots. Now I am not trying to take anything away from your Cavs, but again you are making a lopsided argument, by saying Cavs played good D yet failing to give greater credit to GSW that played waaay better D and limited your cavs to just 89 points. And making the case that you expected more from James and co, is like trying to turn the number 6 upside down in a bid to make it a 9 because it is flat and moot. Lebron and Kyrie atleast met their P/Os average ppg in that game. I don't know how much more they were expected to do, considering they played a team better than Pistons, Hawks and the Raptors. As for the 3rd Quarter you keep harping on, I am sure you saw Klay and Steph miss easy 2s there. So will you not make the same argument that had those shots dropped, Cavs won't have cut down the lead? Or does it not make sense too, that the 4th Quarter you saw from GSW, was typical GSW? LOL, the funniest part of everything you said is that you need Lebron to play long minutes. TBH with you, that is exactly what all GSW fans are praying for worldwide. We need him to burn out by game 3, so that the series can end in 5 or even 4, considering how he burnt out last year in the P/Os. As for Klay and Steph not determining your teams loss or success, I guess we would have to wait for the next game, when they will shoot way better then they did in game 1. But I can already preempt your excuse: you will say GSW were expected to win game 2 because they were home and then you'ld tell us to wait for game 3. I am waiting. |
lolawilliams:Lol. You keep making this one-sided emotional arguments and that's what he is trying to address. For e.g, GSW too are way better than what they played in game 1 yet they still won. Secondly, Klay and Steph that on average drop 53+ ppg dropped a meagre 20 while the big 3 of Cavs had a combined 66 points yet your team still lost. If you want to make the argument that Cavs will play better in game 2 (which nobody is denying), then you would have to make the same argument that Steph and Klay will not combine to give 20 points. And I am sure you can tell what that spells- that the prognosis doesn't work in Cavs favour. Sure Cavs have been very efficient from the 3pt line all P/Os but they are now playing a team that defends the 3pt line better than them, and shoots from there themselves better than them. The writings on the wall are clear: if Klay and Steph shoot well in any game, Cavs will lose. If they shoot badly, Cavs might lose. |
KD said it in his post game 7 interview when he was asked whether GSW seemed to have had it easy at the 3-pt line: he said the shots that GSW made in games 6 and 7 to win were the same shots they had missed in games 3 & 4. Apart from games 2 and 5, OKC dominated at the boards and paint and with exception to game 5, they lagged behind at the 3-pt line but the underlying truth is that had GSW shot (in games 3 &4) anything close to what they did in Games 6 and 7, those blow-out losses would have been way much closer and they may have even won those games. The point here is that the Cavs have been impressive in this 2016 Playoffs largely due to their 3pt shooting. But in GSW, they face a team that not only defends better than them as a team, but one that also defends the 3pt line better and are at either position 1 or 2 (behind the SAS)in the whole of the NBA in defending perimeter shots. To add insult to Injury, GSW (as a whole) is a significantly better 3-pt shooting team than the Cavs (even though Cavs have a better% as far as the P/Os go) and should their sparring be limited to shooting 3s- I sense it will be an easy series for GSW. Without sounding too smack, the WCFs series has exposed GSWs frailties in handling taller and more athletic teams but it doesn't appear they would have that challenge with the Cavs. The margin of both offensive and defensive rebounds that GSW suffered against OKC will not exist in this series. The points off fast break points or the efficiency at the free throw line will also be curtailed as, save Kyrie, the other paint scorers in the Cavs team are not that fantastic at the FT line for e.g, Lebron. I think it is safe to say that Cavs may need to switch their game to accommodate GSWs and when it fails, they better hope those wild 3s drop for them. They are a good passing team, with a mega super star in Lebron and a good scorer in Kyrie, so I expect each of the games to be close. My antecedents for supporting GSW on this thread is well-known so I guess it should come as no surprise to see me lean towards them and say they got this in 5 or 6 games. I am not trying to disparage the Cavs- I do not see a game 7 in this. But nothing is set in stone. |
SIRcumalot:I doubt he needs your applause, he is already the unanimous MVP. Klay gets all the praise he deserves but anyone questioning Curry is watching a cooking show and not basketball. Curry has averaged 27.9 ppg, 5.9 asts and 2.1 stls against this OKC in 7 games. What other contribution is he expected to make? Against Rockets he had touched them in game 1 scoring 24pts in just one half but was sat out for 85% of the 2nd half. He wouldn't play again till game 4 where he got 6pts and was injured for the rest of the playoffs. Yes Klay carried the team in his absence but after they lost game 3 to POR, Curry came back and dropped 40pts in that game including 17 in OT. I guess it is safe to say without him, they won't have won game 4. He subsequently dropped 29pts in game 5 to wrap it against POR. In this series against OKC, he carried his team almost single-handedly in game 2 when Klay struggled a bit, and even though Klay had moments in game 4 when he was pushing his team while Curry fluffed, the MVP redeemed himself in game 5 dropping 31. Definitely the most significant moment was Klay's 11 3pts against OKC at Chesapeake to add to his defensive displays on KD and Russell, but Curry helped close out that day again dropping another 31 (according to ESPN.com) and 36 yesterday. To put this into significant numbers both Curry and Klay are tied for most 3s in a WCFs with 29 each. In other words, Curry made as much 3s as Klay did over the 7 game series including a record 7 3s in the game 7. Nobody is saying Klay is not the team's current Post-season MVP. We are just suing for caution to those who say Curry's contributions have been iffy. The numbers disagree with them, and numbers, as they say, do not lie. |
Congrats to SmooshCHN, Mizzzbee, A40, Donlittle etc. Very very very tough series, I am so happy it is over. OKC played like a championship team this playoffs and deserve all the accolades they received all through. Special mention to KD, who is an absolute leader and for the most part a clutch player. Credit Ibaka too for having a big series this time around. My fear like everyone's is that KD will leave OKC. I could be wrong but I could see it in his eyes after the game. My own hope is that he doesn't go to SAS- because I know they are interested in him too. As for GSW, Speights and Green wanted to annoy me during the final stretch but it only made the game interesting. OKC lost because they fought destiny. As for Klay Thompson, his humility will see him achieve more than he currently has. I am going to stick my neck out to say he is a sure-fire future HOFer. As for Steph Curry, what more can anyone say? I guess now some of his skeptics have become believers. All in all, the refs almost messed up the series, but I give God the glory for this win. I prayed when the series became 3-1. Cavs next, tough match-up, but I doubt GSW will make the mistake of dropping any home game again. Thursday, here we come. #DubNation |
SmooshCHN:That's what is paining me. That statement "the better team". |
drinkmorewater:It is easier for Klay to score 12 3s in game 7 than for KD and Russell to have similar games 3 & 4. I am disgusted at how undermined the warriors are. I mean, they were 39-2 ahome in the regular season and 8-1 in the Playoffs. That's 47-3 so far, and a clutch, NBA WCFs winning game 7 is the one they will flop? Haba. |
birdman:LOL. They had their chance. They blew it. I don't know why all of a sudden GSW became so bad that their home court means nothing. Curry's 6 3 points in a game is shaky shooting but Westbrooks 4/8 in game 4 and something similar in game 3, will be replicated at Oracle. All of a sudden Klay will go cold and so would Curry but consistency is expected from OKC? LOL. I don't know which was easier, OKC winning a game 1 or GSW winning game 6? I wonder how the better teams are decided sef. |
SIRcumalot:Lol..Klay and Steph also shot horribly in game 5. Difference is, they outrebounded OKC, made more points in the paint and got better numbers from the bench than OKC did. In OKCs defence the score looked close because OKC outshot GSW at the 3pt line 13-9. If you are looking for an OKC win at Oracle, you'd need better 3 pt shooting, better rebounds/boards, more from the bench and more points in the paint. I don't mean to sound cocky but, that ain't happening man. If you wanna beat MayWeather, you are better off KOing him because if you give him a chance to take it to unanimous decision, he will score more points than you, very similar to GSW. OKC had the chance yesterday to deal the KO blow. Letting this game get to game 7, is similar to letting judges decide MayWeather's fight. Even if it is by 0.001points, Warriors will win game 7. |
lolawilliams:Lol @ Healthy team. It was because your team was unhealthy that you stole 2 games. Kerr did the right adjustments and went small, so Lebron and Mozgov had time to score buckets but guess what? They couldn't play defence and got tired. 3 easy wins after and the series was over. Now with Kyrie, Love, Frye etc..yes the offense has improved. But Raptors stole 2 games from you. I guess it is safe to say, Raptors exposed Cavs too. |
SIRcumalot:Lol @ Play like brothers. GSW was 18 wins superior to OKC this season. It is not even close. I don't know why people want to think OKC let it slip, without seeing that GSW did same in game 1. Sure OKC looked ruthless in the 3 and 4 blow-outs, but people forget that they also got blown out in game 2 and lost by 27pts. Here is the series recap. GSW 102- OKC 108 game 1 GSW 118- OKC 91 game 2 GSW 105- OKC 133 game 3 GSW 94- OKC 118 game 4 GSW 120- OKC 111 game 5 GSW 108- OKC 101 game 6 OKC won with 58pts in 3 wins. GSW now has 43pts differential in 3 wins too. It therefore means GSW owes OKC a 15points + win to wrap up the series. |
SmooshCHN:I got my stat from NBA.com o. I could be wrong. But that's where it came from. Even the ESPN writers said 31. But whatever. Everything you said, I agree with 100%. |
lolawilliams:Butt hurt. ![]() |
lolawilliams:More points in the 4th Qtr didn't help OKC in game 1? |
kamel4real2015:Most of Klay's points came from Curry's assists. You people should give it a rest. |
SmooshCHN:It was my issue with OKC and why I knew they would capitulate. They are a group of good players. GSW is a team. That's the difference. |
SmooshCHN:Curry had 31 points. He had 2 big steals again in the final mins. A dagger 3 to equal the game at 99-99. A clutch Lay-up. Curry won the game for GSW even though Klay kept them in the game. |
SIRcumalot:Thanks for the correction. |
I couldn't stay to watch the game. Seeing RM beat ATM just dampened my mood that I thought the same fate awaited my team. But just like Mizzzbeee, I prayed then went to bed. Got up this morning and just resisted the urge to check the scoreline. Somehow even asleep I kept seeing GSW 110- OKC 99 in my mind's eye. The last time I saw figures like this was when GSW needed to beat SAS to ensure their 73 wins and I didn't watch both games live. Boy, am I glad I didn't stay up! I just saw Highlights on Ximo Pierto's channel on YouTube and I know moments that would have petrified me, not because GSW can't pull through from such deficits, but because in this series, they haven't been able to do so- or so I thought. I can't remember how many 3s I saw Klay make. Looked like 10. Can't remember how many Curry made too, looked like 7 or 8. It was unprecedented. Anyways, anyone thinking OKC can pull another surprise in game 7 can dream on. They would be lucky if they don't lose by 25+ points. It is not because they are not good (wow, my first real scare this season) but it is because they broke a cardinal rule: THEY UNDERESTIMATED THE HEARTS OF CHAMPIONS. Oh, Well, Sayo Nara to the CHOKELAHOMA CITY BLUNDERS. Long may their woes continue! |

, it doesn't look good for them game 7.. But if there was any team that could beat the dubs at the oracle, well that will be loud city (OKC)!
I don't even understand what you're saying.. Curry of 29pts, 10assist and 9rebound??
GAME 7 BABY
