lolawilliams:The analysis feels leggy again. SHOOTING is not the same as scoring. A team can dunk 30 times in one game and win, but shoot poorly in the same game. That's why you were corrected the other time when you said Lebron was a shooter. In the 113-95 game Drummond played well and he was uncontainable. It is one of those games. Lakers beat GSW too. So big deal. How many games will GSW turnover 24 times? That's why we urge you to watch the game analytically so that you can prognosticate better. Game 1 vs OKC was not a 90 sec come back. OKC pulled close between Quarters 3 and 4 and it was by a deficit of 13. There was no matchup nightmare. It was simply GSW uncharacteristically turning the ball over. That's why even after the game Russell said he was happy OKC won DESPITE NOT PLAYING WELL. He knew the win was more as a result of GSW flopping than OKC winning. In game 2, even if you gave Russell 10 additional points to give him the 26 ppg he averaged during the regular season OKC would still lose by 17. It shows you that GSW are overall better than OKC that it will take something serendipitous and ingenious by OKC to beat them. |
lolawilliams:That's the point you should take. That matchups determine most of what will transpire. All the Pistons games in the P/Os were close games that could have swung any way and the Pistons don't shoot well as a team. 91-77 is just 14 pts. Your team blew a 20pt lead at Ohio to lose 106-100 to the lowly Rockets. |
SIRcumalot:2nd best defence is when NBA says a team conceded an average of 98ppg so they are the 2nd best. That's lazy analysis. GSW play fast-ball and have 100 possessions per game and averaged more than 115pts a game so that they conceded 102 a game is not a big deal. Some other analysis will say they don't defend well, but when 100 possessions is considered ATLs average will increase and the ranking will drop. Horford and Milsap are not the matchups. Will they put them on Lilliard? He will score points for fun. They will most likely put the guards on him and that is why I mentioned the guards. You saying that was how good PTB were going to be is neither here nor there. I didn't say they will KO Cleveland, I said they won't be swept. Dame won't care so much about defending Kyrie because he is a better scorer than Kyrie and his defending is still better. He shoots better than Kyrie, has better range and possibly less TOs. Kyrie has better handling but Dame will drop more points so the matchup favors PTB. For OKC to take care of business ahome they will have to beat GSW back-to- back. Lol. I had to laugh to that. It is the tallest task in the NBA this season and probability says, it won't happen. So again, No, OKC have no advantage and they know it. |
lolawilliams:Kyrie and Love out is the only reason the series lasted 6 games. With them in it most likely would have been a sweep. Kyrie on Curry is Barbecue chicken for Curry. Green would have made light work of Love. You have to think about the match-ups don't get fixated on PPGs. |
lolawilliams:The same Detroit beat the Cavs 2 times in the regular season and the so-called worst team in the WC Play offs (Rockets) beat your Cleveland. You can't judge purely on results in the regular season but based on the match ups and style of play. |
A40:If I had seen this post before putting mine, I wouldn't have bothered with mine. |
SIRcumalot:ATL is not waay better than PTB. ATL may have a better line up, but they are not way better. Shroeder and Teague are not better than Lilliard and McCollum. If analysts didn't expect PTB to make it into the P/Os, it is their own folly. That a healthy Clippers would have beaten the Blazers to the next round doesn't mean the Blazers would not have represented themselves well. They won that game 3 even before CP3s or Griffin's injury. I didn't say PTB would have won a game in Ohio, but in Oregon where Portland is. Anyone who has a contrary view should convince me how Kyrie would defend Liliard and who will take away McCollum's 20+ ppts. Spurs dropped 1 at game 2 and beat OKC at game 3 (away) to lead 2-1. With one more game at Oklahoma before heading back to Texas, the advantage was to Spurs but they lost games 4 (Seattle) and 5 (at Texas). So that advantage you are talking about is non-existent. They are playing a team that led them healthily into the 2nd half of both 2 games and they relied on bad refereeing in game one to win. How often do you think GSW will get complacent again in this series? |
SIRcumalot:You do serious injustice to PTB if you think they were not a test for the GSW. I am 100% sure PTB would have taken atleast a game from Cavs at Oregon. Besides dropping a home game is not the big deal. OKC dropped a home game to Spurs and still won 2 away. Like Roland17 said, it is all about adjustments at this stage and which coach can outfox the other. Raptors winning more games than OKC during the regular season is because they played teams in the east more times than they needed to play teams in the west. |
A40 and Ramdeuter Sure the 4-0 loss was scandalous but 3 of the goals came from set-pieces. Sergio Ramos scored twice in the space of 4 mins from 2 Di Maria free kicks and Bayern immediately needed 4 goals to win the tie. Tall task, but your criticism is not misplaced. Of course, he should have made 1 final at Bayern. Such are the standards only he is judged by. Every other thing becomes academic or sentimental when it comes to the others that are supposedly better than him. At the end of the day, he will be the most successful underachiever. And that in itself may not be a bad thing. The only man who keeps being encouraged to change his tactics when in 7 years of coaching he has averaged a 70% win rate, even 80% in Munich. I guess the point is: why are his "great" flaws only brought up when he loses a game especially when he rarely loses games? The English word for it is nitpicking. I'd rather have a formula that works most times. I guess most of the people who criticise how high the defence line is, don't recall they were always high during 100% of his wins- 82/102 in Germany alone. Oh well, successful failure. |
Too many mental midgets on NL. So Senator Shehu Sani passed the budget knowing well that for FG to pay any form of subsidy it would have to be through a supplementary budget yet he said nothing? So Shehu Sani knowing that crude oil has been selling at below $50 all year, that Militants have been crippling the production figures and thus FG revenue is now trying to play to the gallery by supporting NLC? 2019 is not too far. Let him see that he won his senatorial district because of the popularity and acceptance of PMB and not because of his own political clout. We are waiting. |
lolawilliams:It is beyond Warriors shooting prowess and that's what some of us have tried to let you see. Surely, Cleveland have looked the most impressive team in the P/Os but you need to understand why the scale still tips in the West's favor. Any of Spurs, GSW and OKC defend better than what we see from teams in the east. Cleveland have moved the ball well and most of their 3s have been uncontested yet they are just shooting 45% from there. Compare that to the west where you constantly have to make your shots with someone's hand in your face literally. That scenario means that Cleveland's 3pt percentage will drop, and because most of their blow out wins have been predicated on their good shooting from beyond the arc, they will have to come up with better play than just iso ball with Lebron or Kyrie. See how quick and Athletic Russell is yet he had a difficult time finishing in the paint because that is what good defence will do to you. A team that averages 108 per game or so in the P/Os was pinned down to just 91. Even though I think it will be easier for them to face OKC in the finals because they would have to worry about just 2 players, the message to Cleveland is, NOT YET UHURU. |
Mizzzbeee:Your confidence is infectious. You are so right about complacency, but more than anything, the ball movement was non-existent last game and it is very evident today along with good rebounds at both ends of the floor. More of same Game 3, I beg GSW. FT OKC 91 GSW 118 |
SmooshCHN:It was the moment he jumped into the crowd. That was why he went cold during the 2nd Quarter. |
SmooshCHN:It has been the difference in this game. Also Warriors rebounding has been excellent. |
SmooshCHN:He slipped into it. If he had known he would've pulled back. Hehe |
BARBOSA!!!! ![]() |
Chef is cooking. Was that last shot not a 3? |
SmooshCHN:This is a massive improvement from game 1. But I agree with you. There is still room for improvement. What is good about this game is the movement when trying to execute an offence. OKC haven't coped with it well. In OKCs defence, they have made a couple tough/contested shots. KD is burning. |
SmooshCHN:Well today he is. Not so much the last game. Why did they give Klay's shot 2 points? Looked like a 3 to me. |
Iggy very big in the 2nd Quarter. Spectacular lay-up to draw a 3pt- play that he didn't finish. Ezeli also played big with a couple offensive rebounds. |
KD is hot. Bad refereeing. That was no foul on Bogut. The refs are getting big moments wrong. |
SmooshCHN:Iggy has done well so far. Livingston worries me! |
birdman:Draymond is not a superstar. That's my defence for him ![]() |
Livingston, Ezeli, Barbosa need to wake up in this game. They really need to. GSW looking more discipline but still got carried away once or twice. This is a must win. |
lolawilliams:Funny enough Kanye West alluded to it in one of his raps on a track 'New god Flow' : "Went from most hated to the champion god flow/I guess that's a feeling only me and Lebron know" that's on a lighter note. As for the emboldened, you should have said SO FAR. After all, Lebron won a ring before Jordan(by months or so albeit both were 28), but we all know Lebron won't win 6. Curry won his first aged 27. He is 28 now and could very well win his next. Who knows, he might just do a 3-peat by 29. ![]() Let me not get ahead of myself. He needs to take care of business today or else, there won't even be another ring. |
Mizzzbeee:So typical. |
SmooshCHN:In Raptors defence, they got blown out in almost every game away from their home court in the playoffs this year. I just hope they take at least 1 of their home games to make it a 5-game series atleast. |
lolawilliams:This would have made sense had Lebron not gone to Miami and won the MVP 2 more times. In 2 of his 4 seasons with Miami, particularly 2012 and 2013, Miami did win some games without Queen Lebron. So why didn't he make his argument then that he probably was not the most valuable? That's right, it is because he won it then. The difference between Kobe and Lebron is just as A40 said. Kobe is atleast forthright with his egocentrism. Lebron welcomed Curry into the league, invited him to his house, bowled with him, wished him well, tweeted about his shooting prowess- until Curry became the best player in the league. Then all of a sudden Cleveland are down 3-2 to GSW in the NBA finals and Leflop declares "I am not worried about the game 6, because I am the best player in the whole world". I mean what type of tomfoolery is that? This very season, when Curry put up 36 against the spurs to make it 3-1 for the season, the same Diva starts tweeting about how he is watching Mailman Malone and the Utah Jazz in the NBA WCFs of 1997 just to let everyone know he was not watching the spurs game. Same Diva Lebron starts unfollowing journalists in Cleveland because they questioned his loyalty to his team when he was hugging Miami players after his team got walloped. Same immature Lebron, unfollowed the Cleveland Cavs twitter handle because he doesn't like nor can he tolerate criticism. I have a lot to say about Lebron. How he would have had no ring without Ray Allen's clutch shooting, how refs helped him win OKC in 2012 etc. But that would be me downplaying the fact that he is perhaps a basketball savant who refs let have his way when he charges into players anyhow to make his points in the paint ![]() Let me stop here. |
lolawilliams:Some people here support Celtics, Rockets etc. I think most of us here are united in our hatred for Lebron or may be we just don't want him to win another ring. |
Adesege:Dumboclat. $1= N199 at the CBN but above N320 at the blackmarket. FG tells Marketers to buy $ at the blackmarket rate and use to it import PMS as CBN cannot provide it at the normal rate. So if PMS was to be sold at N86.50 when a $ was 199, how much will PMS need to be sold if $ is say 322 ? 322/199 × 86.50= N140 That's why FG asked them not to sell it beyond N145 |
Why didn't NLC go on strike when Filling stations were selling PMS waay above the pump price of N86.50? Why haven't they gone on strike concerning the spates of pipeline vandalism in the South South and the consequent shut down of some terminals? They should just take several seats. |
SmooshCHN:Kerr is an intelligent coach. I am sure he will find a strategy. That wasn't a difficult game by any stretch of the imagination and that's why the loss hurts. If OKC play badly and still win at the Oracle, it kinda spells doom. But the refs need to be called-out. How long will bad decisions sustain an already good team. Iggy should have been given 2 FTs for Waiters foul on him and Russell Westbrook travelled at 103-102 but the Refs allowed the timeout instead. I guess I am just ranting because the loss pained me ehn. |

wasn't even bothered about game 1, we should have won that game, we were just complacent. Just so you know am still calling it Warriors in 5...
It's a two. He didn't even wait to make sure.
