Are you sure you have read and understand hebrew 7? Cos if you have, you would realise tithes was annulled in verses 11 & 12 and further described as a weak useless and unprofitable practise in verses 18 &19.

Dear Pastor Kun,

I did read through it sir, and i was able to understand that Paul was trying to explain the priesthood of Jesus Christ comparing him to Mechisedec the king of salem.
I do not speak as a pastor, for i am not one neither am I a church cleric of any sort, i do not take tithes of another, but i do pay my tithes of all i earn as much as God helps me to.

I'm Christian like any other, who's desire is to be used by God in this matter and any other He pleases.

Please sir note these (with no intent to argue, but to share the Word of God)
- Melchisedec who lives forever received tithes of Abraham though he was not a Levite. (chapter 6)
- Chapter 8 tells of the imperfect state of the Levites in that they unlike Melchisedec, Levites do die.
- Chapter 11 further says "if the levitical priesthood was perfect, there would be no need for Jesus to come after the order of Melchisedec who lives forever" (rephrased)
- Chapter 23 buttresses the intention of God to change this as the priest couldn't offer an everlasting service because they die, therefore God sent us his Son Jesus who continueth forever, having an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save us to the uttermost that come to God by him seeing Jesus lives forever to intercede for us. (chapter 24 & 25)

Jesus Christ didn't come to destroy the law as it is written in Matthew 5: 17, but to fulfil it.
He has now made us a more perfect commandment thereby setting aside the weak and useless hope, by introducing a better hope by which we may draw near to God. (Hebrew 7: 18 & 19)

Now we may obtain a perfect promise of all things promised to us of God as written in the scriptures through Jesus Christ even the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus and an everlasting life.

In the area of Tithes we may now obtain a more perfect blessing as written in Malachi 3:10 to the Glory of God through his everlasting priest Jesus Christ who lives forever after the order of Melchisedec the king of Salem.

Your setiments on tithes are well appreciated.

My Lord Jesus didn't come to destroy the law but to fulfil and perfect the law, he became to us a high priest after the order of Melchisedec (who was not a levite) who was before Abraham as it is written "...having neither beginning of days, nor end of life, but made unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually."
Jesus (who was not a levite) came also, but perfecting the law through his blood unto a new and everlasting covenant in that He lives forevermore like Melchisedec, unlike the Levites who could not out live the law. He by his own blood therefore has broken down the middle wall of partition thereby not restricting anyone access to the service of God. (Ephesians 2: 14-16)

Through this new and everlasting covenant by the blood of Jesus which speaks better things than the blood of animals, God has reconciled us to himself and called us "sons of God" and a "royal priesthood" unto God, like as the levites, thus empowering Christians amongst other responsibilities, also to receive tithes of each other; the less to be blessed of the better from a spiritually responsible view.

It is written in Malachi 3:10 "bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house..."

It is a great blessing to give to the poor and needy, but this is referred to as "giving alms" and not as "paying tithes" since they are not of a surety spiritually better than you are.
Dear friend you cannot reap of the full benefits of your tithes according to the blessings in the word of God (as written in Malachi 3) if you decide to turn your "Tithes" to alms.
Melchisedec was spiritually greater than Abraham and in paying tithes to him, he blessed Abraham.

"... And without all contradiction, the less is blessed of the better" (Hebrews 7:7)

Whatever you do, please do not rob God in tithes and offering worse still, do not encourage people to rob God.
It's like forming a gang of robbers of God with you at the helm of the affairs of which you will be judged of God.

Please sir, Instead of encouraging others not to pay tithes, pls encourage them.
You (if you are born again) being a priest of God also, though lower in spiritual authority you have a right to request to know, understand and supervise that the tithes are being used for the work of God the father, and not being misappropriated by the man or pastor in the helm of affairs.
Remember we are the body of Christ, and we all have to play a role in restoring Godly order and propagating the message of salvation both in words and deeds even if it means requesting to understand the accounts of the ministry but peaceably and with wisdom.

Do not deceive yourself

God is a holy God and every act of unholiness shall be punished.

REPENT!.

PLEASING GOD

...having not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, with respect of persons.
(Pls Read James chapter 2)

It talks about holding God and his message of salvation in higher esteem and regard than any person.

When the chairman of your company calls you personally and sends you on an errand (with a good message or bad message) to a person in the same company, you will stop all you are doing immediately to deliver the message so that you may find favor in the Chairman's sight.

Consider God as that Chairman, and the world as that Company and the message as salvation. Have the FEAR OF GOD in you.

- Treat "all" people with the same respect whether rich or poor

- Don't shift your ground in righteousness to please a person or say to yourself "If I talk about Jesus how would they feel"

- think of how to please God first by weighing the righteousness of God with the action in question.

- Speak to people about Jesus whether rich or poor, highly or lowly placed.

- Every conversation is an opportunity to put in a word about Jesus.

PRAYER
Father, nothing is hidden from you. Have mercy on me. Convert me to Jesus by the blood of Jesus and useme to establish the fear of God in everyone i come across
Father pls Lead me not into temptation today. Let my desires be to please you all the days of my life in Jesus Holy name

If God is a creation of man, who is the creator of man since apparently everything was created.

nenergy: Happy Sunday to you all! This post is not unconnected to the recent COZA-Gate scandal rocking the body of Christ. I am not here to judge or point my index finger at anyone, hence the purpose of the thread is to point out the “What will Jesus do” as it relates to Spiritual leadership and female ‘followers’. Jesus is the Icon for all modern day spiritual leaders, so Pastors really need to start emulating Christ. How? Well….
• Jesus didn’t have a female in his main ‘circle’. Women as ‘pastoral carers’ only came into the picture when they reach town to rest. Errands like getting the donkey to be used for the triumphant entry was done by men.
• Jesus didn't meet women alone. He met with a woman at the well (a public place), not at ‘Hotel de Nazareth’. A woman washed and clean Jesus’ feet with her hair- in public.
• Jesus knew the reality of the ‘Tempter and his temptations’ and was ever ready rebuke him. He did not ‘form’ as if he cannot be tempted or put himself in tempting situations.
I will end this post by quoting what Pastor Rick Warren coincidentally posted on his Facebook page just 3 days ago.

“3 causes pastors fall:
Personal worship dries up.
No boundaries-meets with women alone.
Pride-believed it couldn't happen”.

To add to your post sir, as born again Christians, if you have identified your area of weakness, I give one sure advise, pls don't try too hard to work on it, Please, FLEE from it!
It's better to look cowardly and foolish fleeing / avoiding that infuence, than to loose such a precious Hope.

I dreamt that i was in class n one of our lecturers was lecturing us.I stood up,gave my books 2 a frnd n was about leaving d lecture room when the lecturer stopped me n asked if what i wanted to go and do is necessaryat that moment,i said yes and that i've been trying for days to do it.I left the class and on my way,i saw my utensils dat were dirty,sponge,soap and a bucket of water.I washed them and had it in mind to drop them @ home.All of a sudden i heard a trumpet sound from above(heaven),it sounded like a musical instrument.I saw everybody outside(my frnds,coursemates and others).I asked a frnd if it's d trumpet of the END TIME and he said yes.I smiled and woke up...When i woke up,i smiled and thanked God for giving me the chance to still make things right...I BELIEVE THIS MESSAGE IS REALLY FROM MY CREATOR TO REACH OUT TO PEOPLE.

Consider the "your dirty utensils" as little unaddressed matters in your life that still require your attention to better position your for the rapture.
Examine your life more critically daily, if possible make notes of things in your life that need to be attended to, and try to address them in prayer and in deed.

- When driving you focus on the road
We focus at each task in our hands., so also when in church, we need to focus on the Lord.

It is awesome to note that this biblical trick works for practically every distraction for what ever task you are handling.

- Examine your Christian walk, is it closer to Jesus or closer to something else
If your walk is farther from Jesus, you may need to dedicate or rededicate yourself to the Lord.

Most people have this same experience.
Its usually as a result of what you feed your mind with daily.
It happens a lot to me too but I learnt one cool trick years back that works wonderfully,
I command the thoughts by saying this with stern authority

.... "I cast you out of my mind in the name of Jesus!"

I'm not arguing points here, I'l encourage him to focus on building his faith by focusing on building his relationship and leaving the trivial things like carrying an Ipad or not.
When he caeses to consider wheteher to take an ipad or not, he'l be in a more mature spiritual state to handle it as a distraction.
A closer walk with Jesus is all I encourage especialy for people like us who are making a concious effort to make it into heaven.

They are a good tool in church I agree, but I believe if you want to read up other versions and stuff, write them on a book and reference the scriptures in your bible study when you get home.
While in Church, pay full attention as I believe doing any other thing but paying attention in church is a mark of disrespect to the God you so call Lord and master.

Prayer is our power over sin.

Going to church with an iPad or note isn't a bad thing, but the distraction it could bring you is not worth the trouble.
When you rise up to pray or worship, would you concentrate on the worship with eyes closed and hands raised, leaving your iPad or the like on your seat to be nicked?

If you do not connect with the Lord in service during praise and worship, I believe it totally defeats the purpose of coming to service in the first place

So my dear friend, leave the obstacles at home for your other personal use and take a paper bible which you could mark and reference in case you have to pick it months later for reference.

Its a wonderful thing to study the bible, but breaking down the bible like this doesnt translate to attaining the kingdom of God.

John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only betton Son (Jesus), that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

When you close your eyes to sleep, do you have peace of heart or nightmares,
Are you afraid to sleep at night. Are you afraid to die?

The noise in your heart is a vice of the devil to distract you from the simple message of salvation through the blood of Jesus.
Whatever you do, come back to the Cross of Calvary before it becomes too late.
As long as you remain alive, you still have a chance to seek the face and mercy of the living God.
Him alone can give you peace of heart
