Your travel document and supporting documents are now ready for collection at the TLScontact UK Visa Application Centre. Please read carefully the below instruction to retrieve your document.

Hello everyone. Are electronically-generated bank statements from mobile apps and printed at a cafe acceptable for France visa applications or must it be taken to the bank for stamping and signing to give it much weight?

TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 9:20am On Nov 01, 2021
Good day everyone. I booked an accommodation for only 3 days and I have already filled in the name and address of the place on the visa form online. I was subsequently advised here to book for the entire duration of the stay in France before submitting the application documents at VFS which is in a few days time. The challenge now is that I am unable to extend the booking period with that particular hotel but there are other hotels with availability. Should I cancel it and book another one despite having filled something different on the already-submitted visa application form online or should I address this in the cover letter since I am unable to modify my current booking to accommodate the entire period we would be in Paris? Please advise on how to go about this as I am very confused here and do not want any silly mistake that could jeopardize our chances of getting the visa . Gurus in the house should please help.

Thanks for the input Sir/Ma. However, are we to submit a cover letter and activity itinerary for each and every member of the family or for only the adults? I suppose we are submitting different applications, albeit simultaneously or will all the documents be submitted as a whole at VFS?

Good morning to everyone in the house. So, I'm putting finishing touches on my family's visa application as we are to submit next week. However, I want to know if my documents' arrangements are in order. They are stated below:

1. Myself:

Visa application form
Bank statements (business and personal)
Receipts and invoices from my business
Property documents (solely in my name)
Itinerary and hotel reservation
Booked tours (from viator.com)
A letter of introduction for myself
Previous U.S and Schengen visas
Family pictures
Kids' birth certificates

2. My partner:

Visa application form
Bank statements (salary and monthly stipend (from me) account for family upkeep)
Pay slips
Property documents (solely in my name)
Itinerary and hotel reservation
Booked tours (from viator.com)
A letter of introduction for her self
Letter from her employer
Employment and promotion letters
Affidavit for change of name and newspaper publication
A letter of introduction from me confirming that I will be the one financing the trip 100%
My bank statements (business and personal) since I am the one sponsoring the trip
My previous U.S and Schengen visas
Family pictures
Kids' birth certificates

3. The kids:

Visa application forms
Itinerary and hotel reservation
Booked tours (from viator.com)
Letters from their schools
Their birth certificates
My previous U.S and Schengen visas

I want to know if we also have to write a letter of introduction for each of the kids separately and also include bank statements in each of their applications/file or if there are any other documents we should add or remove from the list above. Your contributions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Make your application tidy and book for the duration you’ll be staying in the Uk , choose pay upon arrival / free cancellation on booking.com, you don’t need to pay for the hotel booking.

Good day everyone,

Assuming one is planning on spending 2 weeks in the UK, would it be okay to make a reservation for an accommodation for just 3 days for the visa application with the mindset that one could change accommodation upon discovering other better deals after getting the visa? Or must one book for the whole 2 weeks and use the booking to apply for the visa? Any suggestion please!

Nchabuomo:
I would say 120 for the adults in the group and maybe 60 for the kids. If accommodation is already prepaid then it should be way less.

Yes, you are very correct. If my memory serves me well, I think it's about 120 Euros per day. However, I don't know if this amount is for an individual or a group (assuming it's a family trip for instance). Any information on that?

Nchabuomo:
Enough to fund my trip and have some money left. I think the EU recommends you have a specific amount for each day on the trip. More important to show though is cash flow.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 9:23am On Oct 27, 2021
Still waiting. Did mine on September 6.

chima1978:
Do you count the day you get your biometrics done as day 1 or the day after? How many are still waiting to collect their passports on this board and when did you do your biometrics?

Lol! Better don't give them an opportunity to. If you can opt for the "keep my passport" option or the priority service, please do, otherwise you can pick a number on the queue from far behind lol.

Hello all,

Is the message below applicable to only those who are trying to submit in Abuja as its only showing in Abuja but once I change to Lagos, it disappears. Please advise.

Information from the French Authorities Suspension the issuance of visas until further notice Due to the current situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus France has decided to suspend the is suance of visas until further notice All visa types are affected short stay Schengen visas long stay visas to France, visas to overseas territories This suspension also applies to visa applications for which an appointment has already been made We appreciate your understanding VFS Global team.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 1:29pm On Oct 25, 2021
Please opt for that option if you can as they are currently experiencing a very high volume of applications at this time. Since you have another appointment elsewhere, kindly use that lifeline so you won’t lose on both ends.

Debbieeeeeee:
I know three people in the same situation, they all submitted since September till date no response, I’m about to submit mine tomorrow, I think I’ll just pay to have my passport kept with me because I have a pending application in another embassy.

This is very terrific to say the least. I’m scared for myself at this point.

Success2011:
This one is self employed. I don’t have the time to read back, I would have you shown you guys an employee that was denied because of inactive status of its employer’s company
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 6:56am On Oct 25, 2021
Lol, na competition or high school debate? But honestly, this is scary and if anyone is refused solely on that ground, then I think we should take the issue very seriously. However, those who have been rejected on account of their company or employer’s company showing “INACTIVE” on CAC’s website should be kind enough to post the refusal letters here for others to take a cue from. It’s not just enough to make such claims here without proving the same, if only to clear the doubts of all Thomases here, myself inclusive.

oluayebenz:
UKVi won't denied you visa because the company your working with shows inactive on CAC website....
I dare whoever was denied based on that to post his/her refusal letter here, I want to figure out something sad

Hello everyone, this was the response I got today after calling twice to know the status of my application. My case was escalated twice. Just tired

Dear Bleep,

Thank you for your email.

Kindly note that the applications pertaining to Nigeria are currently being assessed in New Delhi, India. Your application is currently under process. While we try to process standard applications within 15 working days, there are however instances where this is not possible. UKVI is experiencing very high demand globally so visas are taking longer than normal to be processed. We recognize the challenges and urgent deadlines faced by our customers and are working hard to resolve this issue. You will be notified once a decision has been made and dispatched in due course. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Thanks a lot for your input.

in my own opinion i will say you should apply as family going for a family trip and also declare your resident permit too, but you need to write a good cover letter explaining all this why you taking them to france.
best of Luck

TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 4:59pm On Oct 21, 2021
Good evening everyone. I have a very serious challenge and I want the gurus in the house to help me out on this. So, I intend to apply for a visitor's visa for my family and I. I am a frequent traveler while they are not but VFS have confirmed to me that I can cover for them since we are traveling together, provided we book a group appointment which has already been taken care of. Now here is the thing: fact of the matter is that I do not really need a schengen visa as I have a residence permit in Germany being a graduate student. However, my family can not apply for the visa since they do not qualify for the frequent traveler status, hence the need for me to apply alongside.

Here is my question, should I apply with them as a normal visitor without disclosing the details of my residence in Germany, would the French embassy find out that I already possess a residence permit in Germany? Secondly, if I wont be applying for a visa, how can I ensure my family submit their visa applications as first timers at VFS considering the fact that we did a family booking with me being the principal applicant?

Any contribution(s) and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am also open to criticisms as well. Thanks in anticipation.
