TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo:
Hello everyone,

So I got my visa 2 weeks ago but my initial travel date has long passed as I was supposed to travel in October but the passport was not returned on time. Now I'm thinking of spending the Chrtismas and New Year celebrations in the UK but I have some fears and/or concerns and they are as follows:

1. Can my family (partner and kids) apply for a UK visitor's visa for the purpose of going together with me for tourism, whilst attaching a copy of my passport data page and recent UK visitor's visa? Or MUST they be invited by someone in the U.K before it would look credible?

2. Wouldn't the ECO think this is an afterthought or is there anything wrong with having a different plan along the line from the initial plan of going alone since the visa did not come out on time against the backdrop of my initial travel plans?

Gurus is the house should please advise if this is a wrong move or if I should go first on my own and apply for them later when I want to renew. Thanks in anticipation of your responses.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 4:34am On Nov 19, 2021
German actually. No it’s fine. Just that I wanted to give my people a wonderful treat this Christmas. Perhaps they thought I wanted to move them in through the back door lol.

Osoderi:
Omg!!! So sorry to hear this, How? Do you have France residence permit??
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 9:19pm On Nov 18, 2021
Really ?

Beverlyhills:
Apologies. With a Residence in a Member state and its only logical you go through your resident state.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 7:32pm On Nov 18, 2021
Unfortunately we were refused on the ground that there are reasonable doubts as to our intentions to leave the territory of the Member states before the visa expires.

I don’t know if my having a residence in another Member state was responsible for this.

OmoWorld:
Relax... It"s a positive feedback. Most embassies in Nigeria don't have time to call applicants.
By the way... Your visa application is approved. Your visa is being completed and has been issued. So you are going to receive your visa tomorrow.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 4:14pm On Nov 17, 2021
Good day everyone. So my family and I applied for a visitor's visa to France last Thursday and we just got emails and text messages that our passports have been sent back to VFS and ready for collection. How do we know if its a positive response as the embassy did not call anyone of us for any kind of questioning. Do they send refusal emails like the UK does or we must wait to receive the passports from UPS first to know if we were approved or not? Gurus should please help me out.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 9:33pm On Nov 11, 2021
Sounds good. Would advice you start drafting a very strongly-worded but polite cover letter addressing the anomalies inherent in the ECO’s judgement of your previous your visa application. You should have your passport within a week but it’s better you hit right back with the same set of documents, except for a few you may have to update. However, kindly go the priority route if at all possible.

Topnotch10:
Thank you, I’ll apply again once I get a my passport collection mail.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 6:49pm On Nov 11, 2021
OP, please, DON'T ignore this advise. Just do this but go the priority way. Submit the same set of documents but tackle the mistake on your cover letter and I'm sure you would get the visa this time around.

Iamajala:
I feel you bro, I guess the volume of application they receive this year is too much that the ECO don’t have enough time to go through your application abi the ECO get eyes problem?. This is really unfair.

Best thing you can do is to re-apply immediately and explain in details, point out ECO’s misinterpretation in your cover letter and I bet your visa will be issued, this has happened to few people back and it worked, it’s like UK need another visa fee and priority money from you cheesy
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 6:44pm On Nov 11, 2021
Mine was actually 8 weeks on the dot.

Iamajala:
I think they concentrate mostly on the students and those that paid for priority. From what I have come to understand if you like call or send them paid mail a million times, they will only process your application when they are ready to. Just like someone said here before. And it takes up-to 8 weeks now. But the most important thing is the visa should be approved. You can’t waste peoples time, withhold their passport and at the end story.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo:
Congratulations!

TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 8:40pm On Nov 09, 2021
Boss could you please share your experience at the French embassy? Didn’t it go as planned?

Leleky:
I appreciate my experience with French embassy in Nigeria. Atleast I got back my passport in peace ✌. Nonsense......
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 2:40pm On Nov 09, 2021
Good day everyone. Please, how much does VFS charges for delivery of passports by courier? I want to know so I can go there with enough on submission day. Thanks in anticipation.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 2:38pm On Nov 09, 2021
Lol! No vex Sir/Ma.

Ashirioluwa:
I think first timer can apply only through Abuja. Anyway the auditor part was a made up story so don’t fall for that.

I don’t know why people are using agents for something they can do themselves. Please direct all your questions to your agent.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo:
Congratulations.

rockyryuks:
hello people. my passport was just delivered!!!
Submitted Nov 1st. Got it Nov 8th
I was given one month

Thanks to everyone here for the information, most especially @hrprof, i went to study all his replies in order to get my application right.

Please I would advise nobody uses agent for anything, once your documents are genuine you don't need any agent that will chop your money. just put all your document in order.

Thanks once again all. I have a vacation to plan. one love.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 9:29pm On Nov 05, 2021

You were spot on. Got my visa today via courier. Ecstatic
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 12:52pm On Nov 04, 2021
Good day all. Does one need to go to VFS with passport photographs or will they take a picture of me when I get there just like TLS does for visa applicants?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 11:04pm On Nov 03, 2021
The last paragraph though. Has the passport been delivered or not yet as you claimed it’s been delivered and I wonder what the issues might be.

Ademidun1:
Good evening @Justwise, @tutu82, @gizelle37 and all the gurus here.
Please read my write up and kindly advise me on the next step to take. This is my story:

Submitted visa application: August 1.
Biometrics: August 23- Standard.
After 30 working days, when I didn’t hear any news, I sent a paid message and I got a reply that a decision had been made.
After 35 working days, sent another paid message, I was told that they’ve escalated my case and that I should wait for 15 working day’s from the date of my escalation to get a response.
Then 3 weeks ago, I got a BRP mail. Since then, nothing.
When it was 50 working days, I sent another mail, they said they have now re- escalated the issue and to wait for a response. 2 days later, I got a decision mail that visa has been approved. What baffles me is that the decision letter was dated August.
Since last week that the decision was letter sent to my mail, I’ve been tracking and still at DMC. Please how else can I escalate this matter? I paid for courier and passport has been delivered yet.
Anyone that has been in my shoe before to kindly advise me as I don’t know what else to do. Thank you.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 4:47pm On Nov 03, 2021
Most likely a visa on a probability of 99.99.

mystikal:
It's not an approval per se. Just a notification from tls that a decision has now been made on my visa application and I will be able to collect my passport at tls centre
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 4:45pm On Nov 03, 2021
It’s most likely positive. Can you share the message you received here if you don’t mind?

mystikal:
Did Biometrics on the 21st of October
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 4:42pm On Nov 03, 2021
My passport with the visa was delivered to me this afternoon by DHL as I opted for the courier delivery. It took 8 weeks for me to get a decision on my application. Regardless, it ended in praise. Thanks to everyone who has been making this forum super-informative and lively too. Special thanks to @tutu89 or so and other gurus in the house for the support while I was packaging my application.

Documents submitted were:

Application form.
Bank statements (2 personal and 1 business)
Cover letter explaining some deposits that weren’t covered by receipts and also addressing my initial refusal.
Previous US & Schengen visas and Schengen residence and work permits
Business registration documents
Property documents (real and personal)
Family pictures
Kids’ birth certificates and tuition fees receipts
Professional certificates, both local and foreign.

Above all, just put God first while covering every loophole. I had fears about my company’s status showing “inactive” on CAC’s website but aside that, nothing else. However, it later turned out that much weight may not be attached to it after all, maybe depending on who handles the application.

Hope this helps. Good luck to all those expecting a response. It shall be according to plans.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 4:31pm On Nov 03, 2021
99.99 chance of a visa approval. When did you submit?

mystikal:
Baba, I got this same email this morning. Saw it around 11am. Can you confirm if it's a visa collection or refusal? I opted for courier service, so I have to wait a couple of more days I guess to know for sure.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 4:30pm On Nov 03, 2021
Hmm. Did you pay for priority or standard? If you were refused, it would be in the email and an attachment too giving reasons for the refusal. Be of good cheer. All will be well.

mystikal:
I did Biometrics on the 21st of October in Abuja (Priority)

Received a Non straight forward mail on the 25th of October

Sent a paid email to UKVI on the 30th of October

Just a received an email about decision with visa this morning (outcome unknown yet)

That's that!
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 1:42pm On Nov 03, 2021
I think it may be logistical issues as to why you are yet to get your passport back. Once a decision has been made, unless they later detected an error (for instance, a fake bank statement), there and then, maybe the case would be reopened again where other documents would be properly scrutinized (assuming it wasn’t done the first time which is very doubtful, going by the attitude of the UKVI generally).

Moving forward, whether or not you already moved the funds elsewhere, I don’t think that should matter as long as the bank statement(s) submitted is/were not fake as I doubt if they call to check the balance perse (since this isn’t a student visa application, I presume) aside maybe confirming a few specific transactions (if at all possible) to determine the authenticity or otherwise of the bank statement(s).

Lastly, UKVI authoritatively confirmed to me that applications from Nigerians are treated in New Delhi, India. So, if the order to issue the visa is coming from there, there might be some delays or logistical issues along the line and since you didn’t get any refusal email, the chance that the visa has or would be issued in probability terms is about 90%. My honest opinion though.

Vicki2020:
Just letting this out even priority sometikes is useless I paid for priority since September 23rd my visa isn't out yet student dependant the last 3 times I call the ukvi I was told a decision has been made since first week in October. And still yet I am yet to get my passport back. No refusal was sent to me yet even till now I have escalated 2twicw and finally on Monday after going to cry at tls vi I was called by this landline 014535191 which I guess is a Nigerian number for ukvi that the embassy are resolving my case that I should be patient
My prayer now is that they do not reopen in my case for any reason cause I have transferred my money from my Uba bank to my other account that I will be using when I am in the UK because after I heard a decision has been made I just started planning my trip it's God that said I should have not paid for my ticket
Please. Is it possible for them to reopen after decision is made
And is it possible for them to refuse someone without sending a refusal mail I heard of recent that you get a refusal mail immediately a visa is refused even before get your passport back
Please help me
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 10:23am On Nov 03, 2021
Regardless of the next available appointment dates, if you need the visa for traveling this December, I would advise you go the priority route otherwise…..mine took 8 weeks before I got a response. So, do the mathematics. Good luck!

Hello everyone. Can someone here help me with a previously used activity itinerary so I can have an idea how to prepare mine? It’s very urgent please and thanks in anticipation
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 7:23am On Nov 03, 2021
It would open. Just be playing around the platform every 3 days with your passport details by your side. You would be surprised that you would find a date in no distant time.

Osoderi:
I am giving up, I have been checking, no available slot. I was told to pay 50k to get a slot. Do they even slot for December?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 8:09pm On Nov 02, 2021
Would suggest you go the priority route as a lot of people seem to be applying for visas this time around unless you don’t mind if the visa is issued later than anticipated. You can always travel some other time anyways.

Evagreenfields:
Hello guys,

Please who has gotten a date recently for the regular visa service (not priority and super-priority)..I'm looking to travel with my son in December for Xmas, we are just about to apply and I don't want to waste money if it won't be ready before then.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 7:54pm On Nov 02, 2021
Hi there. Send a pm. However, you still need to go back to some of the previous posts on this forum to have a general idea so you can ask specific questions.

Beedollas:
Hello house, I just came across this thread and it's exciting to see lots of people have gotten their visa already. Please I am in the process of applying online. But I will consider myself as a novice, yes I have read somethings and documents I'll need but I'm not convinced that I know it all. I really don't want to make a mistake, or atleast get denied due to my mistake. Hence I'll plead for the assistance of the pro in the house, someone who's already gone the route and succeeded, I will love to follow your steps, not copy you but get an idea of what you did. Anyone whole help please? I won't mind contacting you via WhatsApp. Help me.
