Additional documents not submitted in the initial application like property ownership documents and some other documents as well that were not initially submitted at the application stage. The only document that was resubmitted was my corporate bank account statement to prove financial viability because there had been more positive inflows since the last time we applied. Kikistar: Hello, please was it only the appeal letter you sent or alongside all the documents you used in applying initially? OR the appeal letter and additional documents (those not included in the initial application) to plead or support your points in the appeal letter? |

Congratulations sir. It appears as though they are only approving visa applications from frequent travelers lately. I haven’t seen newbies with virgin passports testifying here in a while. Congratulations once again sir! Osoderi: Good morning all, just to show my appreciation and return all glory to God.
I applied for a France visa and did my biometric on the 1st of Dec and on the 7th of Dec my passport was sent to me.
I submitted my three months payslips from my two jobs My business profile (Just a personal business I render services to) Medical insurance flight reservation Hotel reservation for 4 days Staff ID cards Employment letters from the 2 jobs and a letter of introduction my place of work wrote. Cover letter 3 months Statment of account of four banks, including $ and pounds a/c photocopies of my UK visa stickers, the VSF guy removed the photocopies of my entries stamps, they said they only need the visa stickers and it is only countries like UK, USA, Canada they take, but countries like SA, Dubia, they remove the photocopies of the visa .
I was given a three months multiple visa.
Many thanks for the knowledge gotten in this forum, I appreciate you all. Thank you
my advice to people applying and future applicants make sure you book your appointment first before filling the form, the form is very easy to fill and no many questions like the UK .
The booking fees is 19,700 I paid and the visa fee is 37,700 I think, can't remember, but Is from 19,000 and 37,000, then the DHL is included in the fees. ( Just write the place you want it to be DHL to u and your phone number.
The VSF is very disorganized, just get an early appointment and go through the process, so that u get home on time. There is shortage of staff.
Anybody that need assistance can chat me. All the best to all |

God bless you for this sir/ma. I think @HRprof needs to see this and I hope he does. That’s exactly why I want to appeal because of future applications, not necessarily because I am expecting a decision overruling the visa denial perse (clearing any atom of doubt surrounding the previous application). I travel a lot cos it’s fun and educating to me and I don’t think my family deserves any less. I will go ahead and finish up with the appeal, translate, sign and even attach an English copy to it before sending to France. I don’t have anything to lose by so doing. A stitch in time as they say, saves 9. I don’t want my people to be subjected to future visa refusals on account of this particular one cos the wife of a friend who was denied a German graduate student visa in 2019 was recently refused by Poland for the same reason despite paying part of the school fees. Let me do the needful now and save future tears. mialate: Hello, i was refused in 2019. I wrote my appeal letter and used google translator to translate . It wasn't perfect but then they will understand it ..LOL.
After translating i sent to my friend in Paris as an email attachment , she printed and assisted me to mail to Nantes.
I did so because i wasnt expecting an overturn in the decision but for a better assessment in my next application.
I tried after some months and i was granted .
Thanks to @Beverlyhills for advising me to appeal the decision.
quote author=esdajo post=108220027]I already got the part where the appeal is to be in french. However, as for the second part, you can't completely rule out the efficacy of the appeal process. My guess is that at least subsequent appeals would be treated on their merits and not against the backdrop of the previous refusal. |

The appeal language is French. I have been refused visa before and my inviter appealed for me in French language over there we got an acknowledgment letter in French and didn’t hear from them again , that was in 2019 but I reply and got my visa. As for the documents, I submitted 6 months worth of bank statements of both my business and personal accounts with substantial sums of funds in it with other documents too as though I was applying for a U.K visitor's visa. Some of the documents were even returned back to me at VFS for being too much. My partner submitted 2 bank statements of her salary and another account (6 months too). They said they aren't sure we would leave the Schengen area before the visa expires....that was the only reason for refusal. Though I have a German residence permit as a student but I had to apply with my family as a frequent traveler as they couldn't book for an appointment against the intended trip this December being first-timers. I guess they think I had other plans up my sleeves. rebless: Although appeal is acceptable but if it’s all kind of short stay visa apart from business visa I’ll advise you to reapply you can first share the documents submitted and the reason for your refusal so that you can work on your weakness before reapplying because non speaking English don’t give Nigerians some privileges when it comes to dealings in other words they don’t believe you have outright right to get their visa si their appeal is more like a formality that’s why they even expect you to write in French language they know you don’t understand.
Germany visa appeal still works well. |

We would have loved to apply but the available dates on VFS appointment booking platform are not going to work with our schedule. I even wrote the embassy to see if they could prevail on VFS to provide us an earlier date to reapply but they did not reply the emails and courier sent to them in this regard. Moving forward, from my research online, if we don't appeal, chances are that we would keep getting rejection each time we apply in the future either for a French visa or the visa of any other Member State of the Schengen Agreement. The wife of a friend was refused a German student visa 2 years ago and recently she was also refused a Polish student visa, this is how it works for the most part from my observation. The appeal is just to clear the air and also to minimise the possibility of future refusals from any Schengen Member State since they would have it on file and any embassy considering our future applications would at least see that we appealed. rebless: Although appeal is acceptable but if it’s all kind of short stay visa apart from business visa I’ll advise you to reapply you can first share the documents submitted and the reason for your refusal so that you can work on your weakness before reapplying because non speaking English don’t give Nigerians some privileges when it comes to dealings in other words they don’t believe you have outright right to get their visa si their appeal is more like a formality that’s why they even expect you to write in French language they know you don’t understand.

Thanks. The address is written on the refusal letter but how do they expect an English-speaking person from an English-speaking nation like Nigeria to appeal in french language? I have appealed in the past against a visa refusal at the German consulate and it was entirely in English language. Is this a deliberate attempt to frustrate the whole process or what? Has anyone here appealed against a French visa refusal and what the language of the appeal? HRprof: The appeal should be in French language and must be submitted in France check your refusal letter to know where to summit your appeal the address is written on the letter |

Thanks once again. I think I will do as advised by going first. cutebear: Well, you can apply simultaneously if that’s what will be convenient for you. On each application form, you can use the 2X income rule. I don’t think it’s realistic to use 2X income as a budget for 3 people. Each application form is different. Just focus on getting your finances right in anticipation of your next application, write a convincing cover letter and you’ll be fine. Just make your first trip and by the time you get to the bridge of 2 years visa, you will cross it. |

Really? Can't we all apply simultaneously the very next time I want to renew? Secondly, what about the part regarding the montly disposable income when juxtaposed with the amount earmarked as the budget for the trip? Does it really matter if its over 2x or 2.5x treshold if the total budget is lets say 1/5 (one fifth) of my account balances since I would be the one financing the trip? cutebear: if you can go and come back before applying that would be nice. Going & returning establishes trust with the uk government and applying for them the next time would be smoother. The next time, you will apply & get your own 2 years visa before putting in their own application so that they can claim that they’re accompanying someone who already has a visa. |

Good day everyone and happy Sunday. Please I have a question regarding the rule of a visa applicant not exceeding 2x or 2.5x of one's monthly disposable income for a trip. For instance, if I intend to apply for a visa for my famiky since I already have mine, does it matter if the total budget for the said trip is 1/5 of my bank account balances (I am the one sponsoring the trip) since it's already over and above the 2x or 2.5 x threshold? Please, gurus in the house should respond as I don't want to make any costly mistake by applying for my folks now or would it be better I go first and apply for them when I want to renew? Your contributions would be highly appreciated. |

I don't think you must wait for any length of time before you can reapply except to shore up your finances. I for one, I reapplied within 2 months after my initial refusal and still got the visa. What happened to the rule that the travel expenses should not exceed the x2 or x2.5 of your monthly disposable income? Poster hope you had enough in your account balance when you applied though. As for the 650k proposed trip amount, is it really realistic considering the cost of tickets lately? Soft42k: I don't think i need to wait for 6 months before reapplying. I'll reapply with same submitted documents, and reduces my budget to #650k or 700k. |

I would suggest you reapply right back and explain that mistake in detail in the cover letter. However, you would need to include a new bank statement reflecting your current financial standing. Bobore12: I just calculated the debit transaction it’s 4.1M.I mistakenly send 3M from my company account 5 month ago which I sent it back to the company account then I write a letter when submitting my application about the 3m that’s why The debit goes to 4.1m. I just check my new 6 month statement of account and the debit is 1.1M.So can I re apply now and write a letter about the refusal please help me out
The 3M I wanted to send it to my other saving account but I made a mistake sending it to the salary account because I’m using the 3 account in on app..please help me out |

I think you may have to reapply right back and point out the error of the ECO that handled the application. I would suggest you write out all the debits for that 6 months period and sum it together and state clearly that it is x amount of money by your calculations and that you don’t understand how the eco arrived at that bogus figure. This should be in your cover letter which should be detailed enough to capture everything. Of course you have to add your current statement for the last 6 months, however, you MUST as a matter of necessity include a copy of the old one that was wrongly calculated so as to point out the error. Use the same document you used before but make sure you include the current bank statement as well. My own opinion. Bobore12: After 38 days of waiting I got a refusal email this morning that I spend 4,1350,000 for the period of 6 month so I quickly calculate the debit transaction and it was not up to that amount so when I checked my SOA I discovered the amount is total debit transaction since 11 years which I opened the account .Please help me what should I do now |

BTW, no more appointment slots at the German embassy for now, so I'm keeping an eye on that. I only asked about the UK since I just got their visa 2 weeks ago but it was for myself alone. |
Travel › Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 6:05pm On Nov 20, 2021 |
How about the UK? Beverlyhills: At the moment, the only Schengen member state you can go to is the German Embassy . You can book an appointment and start the processing with them. You spent 7 years there it should count for something. If they are able to grant you the visiting visa with your family, then other member states might follow suit.
In my opinion, any trial with any member state at the moment will only result in same reason and would seem desperate.
Try other countries as Christmas is just around, Lovely countries i might add. |

Every case is different who knows. You may wait for the french Embassy but best you make alternate plans incase they go all silent .
Between the German Embassy tourist visa section is open i believe, you should go there where you have a better chance. They reply in 8 to 10 working days
The importance of your Appeal is just to clear the air so when either states check the records its found. |

Good morning and thanks once again for the heads up. If I try any other Schengen member state right back, one may come off as desperate and I don’t want that. I actually wanted to apply for a UK visitor’s visa for them initially, having just received mine late last month but the waiting times was what discouraged me as mine spent 8 weeks at the UKVI and it was during that waiting period I decided to take them to Continental Europe since I have a residence permit there, so I booked an appointment for us all despite not needing a visa perse but VFS won’t accept first timers for short stays unless frequent travelers which I qualify for. Anyways, I already sent an email to the French Consulate appealing for an in-person interview or schedule another earlier appointment for us at VFS in the alternative after addressing the only ground for refusal with more details about our social and economic ties here, citing how I spend more time here than in Germany since I have businesses here and family demands too. I keep my fingers crossed to see if anything could happen as I don’t easily give up without a fight. The travel date would have long passed by the time the appeal is considered because December is somewhere around the corner already. Beverlyhills: You are welcome.
All appeal are sent and received in france. The German Embassy in Nigeria accepts the remonstrance letter and works on it there unlike the french Embassy.
You may appeal to the CRRV in person, through a lawyer or through a family member. Your request must be in French and be sent by regular mail to that following address.
If your appeal is considered you may get a response or not.
However, send in the letter and you cant reapply immediately. You can try taking the family somewhere else this Christmas.
You may try again by Easter (My Opinion) |
Travel › Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by esdajo: 6:37am On Nov 20, 2021 |
Thanks for the advice. Will do as you have advised. However, I have written the France Consulate expressing my dissatisfaction and asking for an in-person interview if at all possible as we wish to reapply immediately but the available dates are far off, in fact, past the intended travel date we have in mind. I don’t understand why the appeal has to be in France and not here, but then it’s their rules and it has to be followed. I had a similar but serious issue with the German embassy 7 years ago which I appealed here, went back and got the student visa. Beverlyhills: @esdajo,
In my Opinion, you can appeal the decision taken explaining your decision for applying for a tourist visa with your Partner and kids to France citing the touristic attractions france has to offer when compared to Germany.
Also state that you are Resident in Germany and you have no intentions of them staying back in either Countries as they are strongly rooted in Nigeria. You may include evidences of what you feel demonstrates this root.
Note, this may not overturn the decision but would be documented in your file so the next Visa Officer if you choose to apply anytime can see you appealed to clear the doubts casted.

Thanks for your response. But won't a recent visa denial from a Schengen country make it appear as though they are desperate or merely visa shopping? Wouldn't it be wise to wait a little before applying since they can't withhold such information when applying for a U.K visa? I really wish I could make this happen this Christmas. owenjegede: 1. Yes, your family can apply and they don't need anybody to invite them just list resort centers you will like to visit.
2. The ECO won't think otherwise, they are after your money and strong ties back home.
Response is based on personal experience. |

I don't have a PR in Germany yet but a residence permit to study and work, having been living there for almost 7 years now. Moving forward, would there be any need to appeal the decision if only to clear the air cos this may affect other future travel plans since most of these Western nations share data on visa applicants and you dare not withhold such information as that would constitute a misrepresentation of material facts and may even earn one a ban in addition to being refused such a visa. Is there any need for that and has anyone here appealed a visa refusal and was later issued the visa? yemmywesey: You should have moved them in through member state you have your PR in. The VO will conclude that you want to move them in through france which is much easier, and ferry them to Germany and began filing for them. |
