adenjnr:But you asked for it nau! |
adenjnr:Lol! How did you know I was the one you saw when there were many people there? Anyways, I was putting on a black shirt that looked like a clergy's (bishop) attire over a black trouser and going about with a black bag like someone from the village and I arrived late both in the morning and in the afternoon for collection. Averagely heighted (5.7), slim built, hairy and light in complexion. We were many sha o! So I no know how you take know say na esdajo you see. Tell me! |
kciano:I am yet to leave for Germany even though I already have my visa on my passport. In all, I do not think I made a wrong choice. As a matter of fact, my CGPA in my first degree is not too tantalizing (2.08) but I still got my admission in a private institution for my LLM which is just 18 months and the tuition I paid for the German school would have been just a semester tuition in Canada so I have no regrets whatsoever. Quality education is my main target and God will lead me from there. That certificate is my priority for now and any other thing that happens later will go according to His divine plans for me but I am satisfied I was able to get what I wanted within the means of my little resources. All I spent was about U.S$18,000 for tuition and feeding. However, that would have just been tuition fee for an 18 months program in Canada where you pay semester by semester so where do I get money for my upkeep? Bro think well. Admission no be anything to get anywhere in the world, na money be the koko! |
nevilbot:lol! But what about tuition fee payment for subsequent years? I had admissions in Canada (US$13,000) for just 1 year and Australia (AUD$20,000) for just 1 year without living expenses but I still applied for admission in Germany and I got even though it was a private institution where I paid about 4.900 (US$6,480) but this is for only 18 months aside the money for upkeep in Deutsche Bank. Your resources should be a guide at this time as education in both countries are highly qualitative but learning and being proficient in another language is a plus too even here in Nigeria as prospective employers would always want to know if you have other skills that your co-applicants do not have which may make you appear better qualified for the job on account of the foreign language proficiency. |
Hello house, I got my student visa yesterday as expected. Just to keep everybody updated and also contribute by offering useful suggestions and/or advice to the aspirants in the house. Thanks to everybody for your usual support through the trying times. Kelly4top most especially and my fellow brothers and sisters here. Love you all! |
Hello house, I have been asked by the German Embassy to come along with my passport and 3 months Travel Health Insurance. Want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your support most especially to Kelly4top or Kelly and some other people right from the old thread just before this new one who has been very supportive by giving useful pieces of advise right from when I was initially refused the visa and had my passport seized and sent to the fraud department of the Nigerian Immigration Service. Where grace abound, every other thing will definitely fall in place. Thanks to God Almighty who made this a reality as without Him we can do nothing. Its always good to know what we want and be very stubborn about our goals in life. I thank you all once more and I will continue to contribute to this thread to assist others coming from behind. For the veterans in the house, how can I get a genuine but very affordable 3 months travel health insurance? Money no dey down so I need a pocket-friendly one. Thanks in anticipation. |
Eke40seven:Thanks brother and that is exactly what I intend to do but I cant even find the details of my account. I have both the account number and branch number but I need the IBAN so I can initiate the transfer. Please help if you have the details. |
adenjnr:I sent them a copy of the statement that was sent last year but they said they needed one that is not more than a month old. That is, a new one. I have tried contacting the bank via the form on their website for international students and block account but they are yet to get back to me so I was wondering if anybody had a similar challenge in the past and could offer a more better solution like a direct email that they check quite often so as to get a swift response. Thanks |
Its so weird that no one here could even contribute by answering my question on this thread just because I am not seeking for an admission or so I think. I did not see the need to flood this thread with just a simple question so as to draw attention but I doubt if no one has seen it since yesterday that it was posted. |
Hello house the Embassy requested I send them a recent statement of account showing my 8,000 Euros is still intact before the visa can be issued. How do I contact Deutsche Bank to send me the statement by email? Please help! |
Clandestine60:Congrats brother. How long was the waiting period after your interview? Mine is 4 weeks and 2 days already and nothing as of yet. Please, respond to calm my nerves. Thanks |
adenjnr:I was not trying to indict anybody and she knows I said the truth. By my training, I can tell what a person is thinking via the body language even though some people may paint a picture different from what they have in mind because humans are highly unpredictable even under a given set of circumstances as some people will behave differently. I didn't have to sit on my right to a fair treatment or right to freedom from discrimination and watch it being infringed upon so I had to put them on their toes so they will know I am very observant, even though they may think I am paranoid or unnecessarily sensitive; that one is none of my business. I have made my point and they got it! The email is rk-visa21@lago.auswaertiges-amt.de |
DANNIEmore:Am very happy for you brother. Delay isn't necessarily denial afterall. I tap into your testimony and I am believing God for a similar miracle. So the woman that interviewed me was the same person that replied my email and she dey pretend to be another person? Okay no wahala! |
House, this is the email I sent to the embassy on Monday after the experience I had during the interview when I was asked if I had applied before and the reason for the refusal and the way the Asian looking lady reacted and dropped my passport and said I was free to go: |
Happy New Year House and I pray this year brings forth positive results in all our endeavours, Amen! I was at the embassy today and I had my interview for the second time as I was rejected 3 months ago and my passport seized but I was able to get a replacement and I was also able to get an interview date for today. The interview went well like the previous, only that I was asked about the city my school is in, the number of states Germany has and I was also instructed to mention them. I mentioned about 8 of them before she jumped to "how many countries share their borders with Germany"? I answered and named about 8 of them as well. The only thing that happened during the tail end of the interview session was that she asked if I have applied to a Schengen country before and I answered in the affirmative that I was there last October and explained why I was refused and all that. She gave me a funny look and gesture and immediately dropped my passport on the counter and said I was free to go. Whether she dropped it because there was no further question to ask or because of what I said, only God knows but I felt I did the right thing by telling the truth because I also stated same on my visa application form since they will find out anyways, my new passport regardless, so I did not see any reason to lie since my previous passport number is clearly written on the new one and am also sure they keep files of visa applicants so I better stuck to the truth. However, I have not been comfortable ever since as I do not know if telling the truth will or has landed me in trouble as it was the same embassy that asked me to reapply if I so wish that I was not under any ban whatsoever despite their seizing my previous passport and sending it back to the Nigerian Immigration Service. House please I need your comments and/or contributions as I am lost here and need to find my bearing. Thanks! |
naijadove:How was the interview? |
nevilbot:Haaa! You are freaking me out with this your post. So no German language proficiency, no work? God, na your hand we dey o! |
XketchDesigns:Lol! Maybe they are still in school and yet to graduate and start working. I want to believe this forum is meant to be informative and no reasonable person would want to share what he or she has not personally experienced |
XketchDesigns:Really? |
Hello everybody, I think its high time we even discuss some salient issues regarding going to Germany to study. We all know that getting the visa is just one hurdle, studying and coming out with good grades is yet another as well. However, in all these, the foreign certificates (original, not China or Taiwan) are our main focus. The question now is; are there really job prospects for we Nigerians in Germany upon completion of the program and earning the certificates? We all know that the certificate is just a means to an end and most of us intend to get jobs over there with it and only a few intend to come back here to struggle with our brothers and sisters in the labour market for the few available but highly competitive job offers, however some of us may be very lucky to have jobs lined up for them here already while some may even get employment in Nigeria after applying from Germany. The main focus is about those who intend to stay back, work and integrate into the German system and contribute their own quota to the German economy. For those who studied there and are already working or those who know some good guys who know some bad guys that studied there and are now working in Germany, we would like you to share your experiences or that from reliable sources so that we will know the chances(if any) available or open to foreign nationals (Nigerians specifically) who schooled and graduated in Germany and what jobs are available to them, both those who can speak the language fluently and those that cant. Someone once told me that most Nigerians working there are not really working in their field but in factories. That is to say those who are supposed to be in the skilled labour industry on account of their level of education and/or field, only find themselves being employed in the semi-skilled labour industry. We need our brothers and sisters who are already there to comment and contribute on this topic as am already bored with admission, visa and ticketing stuff. Lets discuss life after schooling in Germany, their acceptability, job prospects, etc so we will be able to make informed choices as there is sure life after school and that is the main focus here. Thanks in anticipation of your contributions. |
nevilbot:Nice one bro. You said it all. He who has ears, let him hear! |
atrapon:My admission was initially for this winter semester but I had a problem with my former International Passport. To cut the long story short, I deferred my admission against summer 2015 and I already have it as I was given priority since I was already on the queue, so its not like I reapplied afresh. Hope this information is helpful. |
atrapon:Lol! |
atrapon:Am one of em. Any problem? |
naijadove:I applied for the interview date today and already got booked for first week in January 2015. The email I sent the admission letter, passport datapage and block account opening confirmation was rk-visa105@lago.diplo.de |
Hello house, its been a while I last visited this forum due to work. As the saying goes; ' when the going gets tough, the tough gets going'. I have been able to secure a new passport after withdrawing the one initially seized and returned to the immigration by the German Embassy. Funny enough, I got a new admission letter just 2 days after I went to capture at the Immigration headquarters in Abuja so as it is now, I have gotten the new passport already, the new admission letter for summer 2015 and I have already applied for an interview date in January 2015 and still expecting to hear from the embassy as to when I should come for the interview. I'm back for good this time around and I hope the house is still as informative and educative as its always been. Top of the morning to you all! |
Hello house! I forgot to update you on my case. I got my passport back from the Nigerian Immigration Service through a God-sent acquaintance from my barber's shop who took me to meet a senior immigration official who walked down to the office where they usually send passports with fake visa and/or stamps. She collected it from the officer in charge of entering the list on their computer before forwarding the list and the passports to Abuja where the names of such individuals are blacklisted from getting another International Passport unless they change their names or so she said. Though I parted with about 40k to achieve that and I have also declared the old passport missing, filed a report at the Police station and swore to an affidavit declaring same to be missing. Documents had been forwarded to Abuja for processing. I am now expecting the directive to come over to capture. My school will be sending another admission letter by next month for summer semester 2015 hopefully as per our agreement but in all these, I will not hesitate to say God has really been so merciful. He simplified the whole process and also gave me the strength to handle the issue so lightly, afterall my existence is dependent on Him and nothing and no one else. Please, lets keep this thread alive, active and very informative as we all have and are still benefiting from the wealth of information going around here. |
Belly213:@Belly213 I dont have an idea of the schools they went to. However, one went to Hannover. The most important thing is that if you are qualified, you will get the visa so dont fret over anything whether enrollment deadline or any other deadline. |
We need to keep this thread alive. The success rate is still on the high side even if some people are not on this thread as active members. The other 4 guys who had their interviews the same day as myself were all given their student visas. 2 left upper week and one left on Friday and the other just last night. So, its still happening. Good morning to you all! |
betty55:@betty55: This is just an affirmation that tough times never last. Am happy you made it down there against all odds and you did not hesitate to come back to this forum to share the good news. Wishing you success in all you do over there. BTW can I please have the number of the immigration guy that helped you secure the passport within a week as I also have an issue with my passport and I need to get a replacement ASAP as it has been seized. I would really appreciate anything you can do for me in this regards. Thanks in anticipation and congrats once more! |
Belly213:To God be the glory as from Him flows all wisdom. Nobody should ascribe victory to him/herself but to God Almighty. I appreciate everyone who contributed in one way or the other to encourage me to fight the battle and at last, God won it for me. Now time to get a new passport and defer my admission until summer. Thanks to you all once more. I remain very appreciative of all your contributions which was by no means meagre. |
