BusinessBenin Ekiosa Market Fire: Thieves Return Stolen Items by eseosa77(op): 10:33am On Dec 25, 2019
Two days after fire razed Ekiosa (Osa Market) in Benin City, thieves have started returning items they stole from the market.

It was a reminiscence of the 2004 Oba Market fire incident where thieves returned stolen items from the market after Ayelala priests visited the market.

Ekiosa was gutted by fire on Sunday afternoon and thieves had a field day breaking into shops and looting items.

On Monday, the market leaders invited Ayelala worshipers to place curses on those who caused the fire and thieves that stole items at the market.

The Aiyelala worshippers, clad in red attires, walked round the market with a cock cursing those responsible and the thieves.

Addressing a delegation of the Benin monarch Omo N’Oba Ewuare II, Edo State President of Market Women Association, Mrs. Blacky Ogiamien, said the thieves have started the stolen goods after the deadly curse.

Blacky said several items ranging from bags of rice, roll of wrappers, cartons and gallons of grand nut oil, goats and others have been dumped at different places beside the market square.

Besides returning the stolen items to the market square, some persons opted to return items to the Oba Palace.

Sources at the palace said those that returned items claimed that they seized them from people that stole them from the market.

Blacky stated that the invitation of the dreaded juju priests (Ayelala group) was to prevent future fire incidents at markets in the state.

“They have started returning our stolen goods as we invited Ayelala people to place curse on those behind the series of pains being inflicted on market women and other traders in the state

“Those who are putting fire on our asset in the state and those using the opportunity to steal our goods in the market would not longer be free this time.”

One of the affected traders whose goods have been returned, Mr Gentle Imuetinyan Usoh, said the invitation of juju priests was appreciable, stressing that more of their stolen goods would be recovered in no distance time.

“Since Ayelala was called into this market fire incident early today, we have started getting back some some of our stolen goods

“Many of my goods which I thought were burnt by the fire have been brought to the side of the market today. I still believe that our other goods would be fully recovered,” Usoh said

PoliticsEdo APC Crisis: I'm Ready For Reconciliation, Oshiomhole Begs by eseosa77(op): 12:17pm On Nov 29, 2019
SHOW OF SHAME AS OSHIOMHOLE'S APC SOUTH SOUTH MEETING FLOPS....

....I'm ready for reconciliation, Oshiomhole begs, as leaders and stakeholders boycotts meeting...

Failure is an orphan and no one wants to be associated with one and this could best explain the outcome of the APC South South stakeholders meeting called by the embattled National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole yesterday as members, leaders and top APC chieftains shunned the parley much to the chagrin and disappointment of the National Chairman and his co-travellers in the EPM.

The meeting which held at the office of the National Chairman could best be described as a monumental flop as it saw the presence of political paperweights and rejected members of the renegade Edo Political Movement (EPM) who like beaten chickens drenched in the rain of political onslaught sneaked into the meeting and who were expecting to see a sea of heads were left disillusioned and crest fallen as the meeting which was supposed to be a zonal meeting of APC leaders was reduced to a gathering of EPM loyalists whose political future in Edo state stares at political oblivion.

Save the presence of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo Agege, notable leaders from the zone such as the Edo state Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, SSA to the President, Ita Enang, Senator Alimekhena, and State party chairmen from the zone were remarkably absent, leaving observers to ask probing questions on what would have made leaders shun the meeting.

With rejection staring him in the face, the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who had experienced similar rejection a few days earlier at the Progressive Governors' meeting in Jos, Plateau State had to eat the humble pie by pleading with the few persons present that he was ready for genuine reconciliation and make concessions in the interest of the party as regards the Edo state gubernatorial election next year which is contrary to his earlier hostile stance of being confrontational and unyielding much to the disappointment of the few EPM members present. In his own submission, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator James Ovie Omo Agege appealed to all members of the APC in the zone to forgive the National Chairman of the APC for his misdemeanors over the last few months and support him in his quest to reposition the party.

The reasons for the boycott of the zonal parley by leaders of the party from the zone might not be unconnected with the lingering crisis between the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the Edo state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki with regard to the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo state in 2020 and the absence of major zonal leaders of the party meant that the National Chairman failed to get the necessary vote of confidence from his zone which further heightens the pressure on him to step down as National Chairman of the party..

With this major setback suffered by the National Chairman of the APC, it means the days of the dictatorial rule of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the party are numbered as he battles to save his job.

Edo is politically sofisticated that they don't vote along party line but individual.Apc lost the Presidential election in Edo state because of Buhari factor. That name Buhari here is synonymous with hunger, suffering and hardship.Apc won the 24 House of assembly seat due to Obaseki factor. They said the votes is to pay Obaseki for his good works and to continue on the good works.

I tell you, if Apc treats Obaseki like Ambode....... na sorry be there new name and Edo people will so punish Apc at the poll.

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, narrowly won the presidential election in Edo state with 7,849 votes more than his main rival, President Muhammadu Buhari.

The State Collation Officer for the Presidential election, Ndowa Lale, announced at the Independent National Electoral Commission headquarters in Benin that Mr Atiku scored 275,691 votes, while Mr Buhari of the All Progressives Congress scored 267,842 votes.

Its a lie ooooo!
That result is fake and inflated by oshiomhole.
Egor local govt.alone, pdp beat apc with over 10k votes and in oredo over 12k votes with Pdp winning in all wards and almost all the polling unit.Edo central which is the biggest strong hold of pdp is not added.Edo central alone, the difference is more than 25k vote.

oshio is a thief

However, Mr Buhari beat Mr Atiku in the number of councils won. He won in 10 while Atiku won in eight.

Mr Lale, who is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port-Harcourt, said the total number of registered voters in state was 2,150,127 while the total number of accredited voters was 604,915.

Mr Lale noted that the number of valid votes was 560,711 while 38,517 votes were rejected.

He further said the total number of votes cast was 599,228.

PoliticsVp Debate: Peter Obi Insists On Statistical Data, Provides Sources by eseosa77(op): 12:22pm On Dec 18, 2018
Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Peter Obi has insisted that the statistical data he reeled out during the Saturday, December 15 Vice Presidential debate were accurate, as he obtained them from competent sources.

Peter Obi Obi has been greeted with outright criticism from some Nigerians, who claimed that most of the statistical data he reeled out during the debate were not correct and overblown in most cases.

Obi’s Media Adviser, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, in a statement on Monday, called on Nigerians to disregard those going about debunking, as incorrect, the data used by the former Governor of Anambra State to support his points during the 2018 Vice Presidential debate.
Obienyem said that engaging in what he called “statistical fallacy” was a mark of persons without honour and insisted that Obi did not do so during the debate as, “the sources of all the facts and statistics he put forward could easily be verified.”

In the statement made available to journalists, Obienyem itemised all the points that Obi made during the debate and gave the source of Obi’s data, which he challenged those doubting their authenticity to verify. Part of the statement read: “During the debate, Obi said that Nigeria used over 50% of her revenue to service debt. This can be verified from DMO’s 2017 reports on Nigeria’s debt stock and total debt service.

Obi said the country’s total debt stock was N22.7 trillion, about USD80 billion. This can be verified from DMO’s June 2018 report on Nigeria’s debt stock. Obi said that Mexico’s GDP was over USD1 trillion and its GDP per capita was over USD8,000 This can be verified from World Bank report on: https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.KD?locations=MX&view=chart). Obi said that South Africa’s stock market capitalization was USD900 billion. This can be verified from Stock Market Clock (https://www.stockmarketclock.com/exchanges/jse). Obi said that Nigerian bank loans is made up of 15% of GDP. This can be verified from the World Bank (source: https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/FD.AST.PRVT.GD.ZS?locations=NG&view=chart). Obi said that Nigeria had the highest number of the Poor at 87 million – growing by six persons per minute.
This can be verified from Brookings Institute publication, ‘The start of a new poverty narrative” published by Homi Kharas, Kristofer Hamel, and Martin Hofer on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 (source: https://www.brookings.edu/blog/future-development/2018/06/19/the-start-of-a-new-poverty-narrative/). Obi said that Nigeria’s Human Development Index (HDI) ranking moved from 152 – 157. This can be verified from http://hdr.undp.org/sites/default/files/2018_human_development_statistical_update.pdf ).

Obi said that the Misery Index in Nigeria worsened. This can be verified from https://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/hankes-annual-misery-index-worlds-saddest-happiest-countries).

Obi said that the FG budgeted N340 billion on health and paid over N1 trillion on PMS subsidy. Education budget was about N400 billion. This can be verified from https://punchng.com/subsidy-on-petrol-hits-n1-4tn-per-year-says-fg/.

Obi said that the ease of doing business ranking was currently at 146. This can be verified from http://www.worldbank.org/content/dam/doingBusiness/media/Annual-Reports/English/DB2019-report_web-version.pdf).

Obi said that China created 7.2 million jobs within first 6 months in 2018. This can be verified from http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/a/201809/17/WS5b9f2aeda31033b4f46566bb.html).

CrimeRe: How God Rescued My Younger Sister From Ritualists by eseosa77(m): 5:41pm On Oct 21, 2018
freshkpomo:
Happy sunday to everyone, the whole things is still a shock to me how humans now love money more than a fellow human's life.. It is only a fool that will say there is no God..

Yesterday at about 4pm my younger sister left for church only for us to wait till night and she did not return, we became worried and started searching for her, just for her to return very late at night looking very very depressed. That was the first time i saw so much fear in her eyes, the words that came out from her mouth there after were shocking.

She narrated how a car was parked as if it was faulty along the path she took to church, and as she walked by, someone grabbed her from behind with a hanky, that was all she could remember... Only for her to see herself on a tarred road standing in front of a woman.

She then asked the woman where she was and the woman said '3rd' (Benin city) she screamed and told the woman she was from Ogida barrack(benin), the woman then told her how a car came and threw her away, with the driver screaming MAKE UNA THROW ALL HER THINGS GIVE HERE, and the car hurriedly zoomed off..

The woman then gave her some amount of money to get back home as she was with no cash on her!!! It was God oh, by now i for don loose my baby oh!!!!

I still don't know how people feel about money rituals, if this ritual was so real, Nigeria ought to be the richest country in the world, and Ijebu Ode would have been the most beautiful town in the Universe, please inform your loved ones to be vigilant.

Like i said earlier be at alert oh, the quest for money is real!!
She was very lucky.Thank God for her.
My younger sister fell victim 5years ago when she took a vehicle at 1st junction by sakpoba road in Benin city, coming to my office she was abducted along side his 2yrs child.she was realized the following morning after an all nite spiritual battle held for her.According to her her presence caused serious problem for the ritualists that nite.they had no choice than to come and drop her off at the sapele rd bypass.Acording to her there were over 100 men and women including children in the captivity of the ritualists.
Politics2019: APC Aspirants Kick Against Consensus Option In Edo by eseosa77(op): 3:37pm On Sep 21, 2018
AS the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), commenced screening of aspirants yesterday ahead of its primaries, certain aspirants for the House of Representatives seats in Edo State have petitioned the national working committee of the party.
The aspirants from Orhionmwon Local Government area are kicking against a consensus arrangement allegedly instigated by the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki to secure an automatic ticket for serving federal lawmakers from the State.
Findings revealed that the APC Chapter of Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State had announced three returning lawmakers as consensus candidates. The list includes Patrick Aisowieren (Orhionmwon/Uhumwonde Federal Constituency), Nosayaba Okunbor (Orhionmwon East Constituency) and Roland Asoro (Orhionmwon South Constituency).
But speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, one of the Edo State aspirants vying for Orhionmwon/Uhumwonde Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adaze Wilson Imafidon described the move as fraudulent and illegal.
Imafidon said the decision was in brazen disregard of the September 11, 2018 procedure for nominating candidates/conditions for consensus candidature issued by the APC National Working Committee and reaffirmed by the Edo State Chapter ahead of legislative primaries scheduled for next month.

He said: “Recall that the National Working Committee in its directive/clarification on the procedure for nominating candidates stated that while consensus is provided for by the Party’s Constitution, the option is conditional. Consensus does not foreclose Direct or Indirect Primaries for all elective positions. The NWC stated clearly that consensus will apply when no other aspirant signifies interest for example through the purchase of nomination forms for the position in question.
“As you can see, aspirants from Edo State, particularly the Orhionmwon/Uhumwonde axis are being screened, we are all very much in the race. How can a group of people converge in a room and tag themselves stakeholders excluding aspirants and announce automatic consensus candidacy for returning lawmakers? The decision is dead on arrival. We will surely resist this fraud and illegality.
“Unpopular aspirants who have woefully represented us during their first term in the House of Representatives cannot hide under illegal consensus to retain their seat. The Edo electorate are not foolish, they demand quality representation at all levels. We must all go for primaries and test our acceptance and popularity.
“We hereby draw the attention of the Party’s national leadership under the Chairmanship of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to this fraud and illegality being perpetrated by the Orhiomwon Chapter of our great Party.”

PoliticsPolitical Tsunami Hits Edo South APC! by eseosa77(op): 9:27pm On Aug 15, 2018
The wind of defections blowing across the country has once again berthed in Edo State, the home state of the factional National chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, as some notable members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC ) have dumped the party for the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The latest defectors from the party are Mrs. Lucy Omagbon, a former council chairperson, a top leader of the party, Mr. Lawrence Oboh as well as Mr. Harrison Omagbon with thousands of their supporters spread across the Edo South senatorial district.

The latest defections are coming on the heels of a passionate appeal by a former Senior Political Adviser to the APC National Chairman, Mr. Charles Idahosa who called for restraints from members threatening to leave.

Idahosa, who spoke in Benin had advised the party faithful to stay and resolve their differences instead of leaving for strangers and move in anger to the rival PDP.

The former APC members in their separate speeches, agreed that the ruling party has failed Nigeria and left with no other choice than to quit and join the PDP.

Mrs. Lucy Omagbon, who was also a one time Commissioner of Education, told the horde of supporters that she left the PDP for the APC because of problems within the ranks of the opposition party.

She however added that it was ironical that the problems she met in the APC were a child's play compared to the monumental problems of the PDP.

Amidst solidarity songs, Mrs Omagbon said that she was quitting with her supporters, and like the biblical prodigal son going back home to the PDP.

She said: "When I left the PDP it was because of some problems but the problems in PDP are a child's play compared to that of the APC We have been holding meetings and consulting.

"Today, we decided to leave the APC for the PDP. I am not decamping but only going back home."

Oboh amplified Mrs. Omagbon, insisting that it was obvious that the ruling party
was only out to inflict pains on ordinary Nigerians and its only achievement is the successful distribution or poverty to Nigerians.

Present at the meeting were the PDP Edo governorship candidate in the 2016 election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, former Chairman of Oredo, and the State Vice Chairman, Edo South, Mr. Mike Ehima, the party state publicity secretary, Mr. Chris Nehikhare and a host of others.

The question ones again remains, where is the Tsunami going to hit next?

Edo Central, North monarchs urge DSS, Police to arrest Ijaw traditional rulers

TRADITIONAL rulers from Edo Central and North senatorial district of Edo State, yesterday, raised an alarm over alleged plot by Ijaw traditional rulers in Delta and Bayelsa states to disrespect the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, and called on security agents to arrest and prosecute the paramount ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, Pere Oboro Gbaraun over the botched attempt to install Godwin Ogunyebo as the Pere of Olodiama Kingdom, in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The traditional rulers who insisted that Gelegele is part of the enclave of the Oba of Benin, described as disrespectful and an abomination, the attempt by the paramount ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom to come and install a king in Benin Kingdom without the consent of the Oba of Benin, adding that if the perpetrators are not arrested, “we will head to Abuja to protest this act of rebellion against the revered Benin monarch.”

Addressing newsmen in Benin yesterday, the First Vice Chairman, Edo State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs and Onojie of Opoji, His Royal Highness (HRH), Ehidiamen Aidonojie I, said: “In the 13th and 14th century when the Portuguese entered Benin, the only Port in Benin was Gelegele and that was where the Portuguese lived and even built a house there. “It has always been part of Benin Kingdom.

We had two provinces in Western region that later formed Midwest region. We had the Benin Province and Delta Province. The Benin Province included Gelegele. There was never a second kingdom and there can never be another kingdom inside the Benin Kingdom and it is headed by the Oba of Benin. “Only the Oba has the powers to appoint a Duke in Gelegele like he did in other areas.”

CultureProof And History To Show Ijaws Are Tenants In Benin Kingdom by eseosa77(op): 1:09pm On Nov 20, 2017
EDO STATE: IJAW AT GELEGELE ARE TENANT TO THE BENIN PEOPLE

That Gelegele is a Bini community is a long settled issue. There are established, verifiable administrative inquiries by the then Midwest State Government and judgments from the High Court up to the Supreme Court in Lagos giving authority and power to the Binis over the land occupied by our forbears for centuries. Our claim to Gelegele and environs is neither fictional nor adventurous. The area was incontrovertibly founded by a Bini

Prince Ekaladerhan who escaped a royal death decree over 10 centuries ago particularly Ughoton Princess Kobe from Ughoton founded Gelegele after previous attempts to inhabit the swampy terrain failed the name Gelegele derived from the exclamation: “Gelegele emwan khian evbo” Our investigation showed that the first Ijaw man from undoubted history to setle in Gelegele was one Feti who suffered a misadventure in the near sea where torrential waves swept away his makeshift .home about 100 years ago.
He obtained permission from one Okunseri, the then priest of Ughoton, to settle there under traditional oath of allegiance. As time went on the Ijaw population in Gelegele grew but continually paid homage to the Binis nay the Oba of Benin, through Ughoton until late Oba Akenzua II, CMG, stopped them.

However, in 1969 the Ijaw who had prior knowledge of oil discovery in the land, rose against the authority which erupted in a crisis at a time a Bini man, one Ogbeifun Egharevba was Odionwere of Gelegele. An administrative inquiry was setup by the then Midwest State Government of Brigadier-General Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, headed by one Mr. S. Jamgbadi, a Senior
District Officer and sat at Ekehuan. A report was issued in 1970, and we quote inter-alia: “It is however established that the Ijaws have been resident in Gelegele for many years and that during these years they have acquired landed property and cultivated farms; but from the facts in evidence they qualify as TENANTS on the land - their-long period of occupation notwithstanding.
The matter went through the High Court of Justice and Federal Court of Appeal in Benin and the Supreme Court -in Lagos.
The Binis secured victory all the way. The following suit numbers are material evidences to buttress our claim to the land at Gelegele
and environs

1. High Court of Justice, Benin Judgment delivered on the 22nd December 1978 by .Justice. Ekeruche J in Suit No. B/I44/1970.
2. Federal Court of Appeal judgment delivered on the 16th December1981 by Abdul Ganiy Olatunji· Agbaja and 2 others in
Suit No. FCA/B/82/80.
3. Supreme Court unanimous Judgment delivered on the 19th ‘August 1983 by Muhamedu Lawai Uwais, former Chief Justice of the Federation and 4 others in Suit No. SC.131/1982.
Ijaws are only settlers on Benin land and have no legal, moral or historical support for their claims to be owners of where they find themselves.
