Firstly Practice Gratitude

Every problem whether small or big can be solved by being grateful to Allah. In fact, we start worrying and complaining in the first place because of being ungrateful to the blessings of Allah. and no matter what is happening to you right now there's someone out there having double of it. ALLAH SAYS

“And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah , you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is
[generally] most unjust and ungrateful.”
[Surah Ibrahim 14: Ayah 34]


Secondly Relying on Allah

Our noble prophet is the best example he was sad and depressed also when his wife and backbone died (Khadija) his only supportive uncle died, this year was very tough for him, how did he overcame the depression? It's by relying on Allah. Know that all that is happening to you is from Allah and only him can take it off. The mistake we (human) used to make is believing someone or something is behind his failure i.e 'everyone hate me because i'm not handsome', 'i can't get job because i'm from poor home' 'i'm poor because of my village people' and etcetera. All these suspicion is the reason Allah has abandon us with our problems because we believe something can effect changes in our life other than him Allah knows. My brother Allah is the causer of your problems and very aware of your challenges and has left you with it because you think something is behind your challenges.

"He has the keys to the unseen: no one knows them but Him. He knows all that is in the land and sea. No leaf falls without His knowledge, nor is there a single grain in the darkness of the earth, or anything, fresh or withered, that is not written in a clear Record". Quran chapter 6 verse 59

“…And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from an unexpected source. And when someone puts all his trust in Allah, He will be enough for him.” [Quran
65:2-3 ]


Thirdly get near to Allah.

Getting near to Allah means remembering Allah always (in public or private conditions) repenting from one's sin and promising Allah to never go back will help acheive this, and will give one opportunity to get near to Allah. Pray five times daily prayer at the approriate time, Start reading Quran english or arabic, do many azkar in your free time i.e. La'ilaha ila Allah, Alhamdulilah, Astagfirulah, Subhanalah, and etc. ALLAH SAYS-

“And whoever turns away from My
remembrance – indeed, he will have
a depressed life, and We will gather
him on the Day of Resurrection
blind.” [Surah Taha 20: Ayah 124]

Fourthly: Reading Quran: This is what i usually recommed for those battling depression. No matter how big your depression is, i swear by Allah reading Quran for hours will ease it and in most cases delate it. Go Mu'minun: Quran chapter 23, then read Surah Ar'rahman Quran chapter 55 Surah Mulk Surah Quran chapter 67. This three Surahs are not long chapter, they are very moderate to read. After reading them your depression will be lifted and your faith will increase Insha'a Allah.
