This is how terrorism starts..some people will fell oppressed...they would fight for their right..the movement will be hijacked by non-believers..islam will be painted evil..
SPEEDEPITOME: The fact that someone has lot of friends and hang out with people does not mean they have self confidence. some of them even use to crowd to cover their lack of it. Get on a one on one with them, they'll melt. Point is, the dude might not just like crowd, it has nothing to do with self confidence.
wins18: Being an introvert comes with some down sides, as an introvert I have my own challenges or should I call it excesses lol. I miss my chances on getting that pretty crush of mine, I fear rejection and I am yet to device a means of handling such when it occurs, even though when the green light is at its peak. Another one is that I find it hard to maintain closer relationship with people, they complain I don't call them, truth is I prefer texting instead. Share yours too lets know ourselves better.
@ OP..introvert + extrovert + anyvert..na as holy spirit bring am I dey do..
Cleopatra4: I find it difficult to make friends... When I do I just snub them just like that. People think say I get pride but Na lie I'm one of the most simple person on earth. Just the introvert thing
okay can we be friends? Snubbing tins as expected!
Evablizin: My heavens,no access to NL,Likeji oh my father, hair styles are governed by the Government....I can't read this any more clear road make i faint
Hernyolar: Good day familylanders. I come here to air my current dilemma and ask for a way out. I'm married with a kid, got separated with my husband last year Jan due to some little issues that weren't managed properly and got escalated.. We stayed in touch for A year cos of child welfare and the rest. He obviously had a relationship with another lady in his base, while I remain single Sometimes this year, we started talking about reconciliation and the talks went well, we've seen our mistakes and accepted to work on the marriage. He confessed to me he had a relationship with a lady but he told he was married with a child and he wasn't going to divorce his wife neither marry her (the lady) so twas a deal sort of and he has broken up with her ( which she confirmed)
He's come to see me in my place and I got posted for an official assignment to his state..He told me the girl has refused to leave even after he told her he has reconciled with his wife and the rest.
I got in yesterday and all hell was let loose, the lady was so violent and was saying all manner of trash, threatening fire and hailstone.. I simply asked her, do you know he was married? Did he tell you we were divorced?? Did you see my things in the house? She answered "yes". She said she has no place to go..I was even willing to give her something to take care of herself but she said " no", she wanted my husband and I should start realising she will become a second wife..
My husband in all this have been calling people to talk to her and go without violence..She's called my in-laws to curse(dunno how she got their numbers)... calling friends to tell them she isn't moving out of the house
It's really messy here and I don't want to create a scene..someone advised me I should involve the Civil defence authority.
I really dunno what to do
Please advise me
Royalroy
I have read different advice and suggestion..everyone is making a point but the most important thing for you now is not about moving out alone.. Talk to one or two of your relatives..your husband relatives..den both family should find time to meet and discuss this issue..your husband should be asked if he genuinely wants you back. If yes! You guyz need to report the case to the appropriate authorities. They should invite the lady and make her sign an undertaken, because your life is not safe as long as you are still in this country. So people could go to any length to have what they want. To cut the long story short what I mean is leaving the environment for her or not does not guarantee your safety. Make it legal with the consent of your husband, his family and your family by reporting to the necessary agency in charge of cases like this. Aurvouir..
leksonltd: Am married with kids, my family is in Abuja while am currently employed with a private company in Lagos, the job is an unsecured one, could be fired anyday anytime. The salary is less than #100k without accommodation, have been managing with a family. Am six months on the job and don't see chances of settling down here due to the poor pay and high house rent.
I have a car I can use on the uber platform in Abuja, will stay in my house and see my family on a daily basis (this is my desire). Pls is it wise to quit the Job. I seek your humble opinion. Thank you
bro..whatever advice anyone gives you here..you will have to make your decision yourself...whatever decision you make you have to face the consequences alone..Life is a risk on its own...weigh your options sir...God guide you...But have always bin an advocate of self-employment..
I hope to set up an Ngo someday..very soon..using my music label platform..raising funds from good people around..dedicating a certain percentage of our earnings to this course..taking few of this kids off the street..educating their parents about the disadvantages of giving birth to so many children without having the financial capacity to cater for them..Woo on to our leaders..Woo unto our government..Woo onto the wealthy and stingy ones..Woo onto those shameless wealthy politicians from the north..let them fight poverty genuinely to keep most of this kids off the street.. join me in achieving this course..
nice tune...same hustle... @ Lalasticlala ...sentiment and favoritism is very bad...guess we all deserve fair chances.. i have mentioned..copied you to push my project to front page...but you refused..i guess nairaland is for some selected members.
zazawaga: So many of us were raised to a subtle beat (or loud gong) that went something like this, “Get good grades. Get into a decent school. Get a solid desk job (with benefits). Be happy.”
Problem is, for some people this formula doesn’t lead to career fulfillment at all. In fact, for some, it’s a formula that ultimately makes them want to crawl out of their own skin or run screaming from that solid desk job (with benefits).
Could this be you? What are some signs that you may, in fact, not be cut out for a traditional, 9-to-5 job?
Here are a few signs, plus what should you do if this becomes clear to you.
1. You Feel Like a Caged Animal When You’re in the Office
Sometimes, it’s not about resenting authority at all. For some who aren’t cut out for traditional jobs, it’s the endless sea of desks that makes them want to run screaming from the building.
I remember my own first corporate job. At first, it was all like, “Oh. Sooo cool. Look at all these important-looking people in these little cubby holes.” By about six months in, I was finding any excuse possible to get out into the fresh air. (“You need someone to go pick up lunch? On it!”)
By a few years in, I’d had enough. I lasted a grand total of seven years before I’d flat-out had it. I needed freedom, and I needed space.
What to Do If You Feel Trapped
If your job truly requires you to sit in one space and stare at a computer all day (and you actually don’t mind the work), you may consider requesting the option to telecommute a couple times a week. This article includes templates and suggestions for starting that conversation.
If your role doesn’t really mandate sitting in one place every day, start planning your day (or requesting to do so) in a way that gets you out and about at least a time or two every day.
Monotony can crush even the brightest spirit. Find ways to break up yours (simple suggestions here. Or, if you know an office is simply a no-go, start investigating ways to apply to a field that has you, well, out in the field.
2. You Don’t Like Working Regimented Hours (or Having a Regimented Life)
Similar to the feeling that a cubicle may give you, being required (or nearly required) to punch in and out each day can make you feel like you have no say in your career or life. And having no say may make you want out, stat.
What to Do If You Despise Set Hours
Of course, there are many roles that simply require you cover a shift. If this is your job (and it’s making you nuts), you may want to consider a new position or line of work. Businesses that run shifts need shift workers. No getting around that.
However (and this is especially true if you’re a top performer), if the imposed hours are arbitrary—done because this is what everyone does and has always done—perhaps you could put together a proposal that shows your boss how you can achieve your goals outside of the current schedule.
Use care with this approach, of course. (Keep in mind that your boss may long for a similar scenario but be too afraid to push it with “the powers that be.”) But if you do it strategically and in a non-pushy manner, you may just find your idea is heard. And, hopefully, approved!
3. Spreadsheets Makes You Crazy
I recently worked with a client who was having a heck of a time finding a new sales role. It was a mystery to me at first, because she has so much going for her. But as we spoke, I began to realize that, while she loves selling, she hates (understatement) all the paperwork and reporting that goes along with it.
In fact, she doesn’t just hate it—she’s terrified of it. Thus, every time she gets into a conversation with a hiring manager (for another sales job), they get as far in conversation as the spreadsheets and then she’s out.
The companies she is eyeing simply don’t want a sales person who can’t or won’t also do the necessary behind-the-scenes work.
What to Do If Paperwork Makes You Pout
Whether you’re afraid of the paperwork (or the technology you need to know how to use to complete it), or simply annoyed about having to do it, here’s the reality: It’s probably not going away.
Whether you’re working for someone else or for yourself, your job will likely require at least a certain amount of reporting, documenting, data entry, or number crunching. I don’t care if you’re on Wall Street or running a landscaping crew, business is business and it requires paperwork.
That said, if you truly abhor it, consider finding ways to delegate, outsource, or get support on the stuff you simply do not want to do. If you’re weak on the technology or tools that power the paperwork, ask for training, or invest in it yourself.
If you’re at the bottom of the ladder and can’t just delegate, see if you can trade tasks with a co-worker. Maybe they hate something you don’t mind and it could be a win-win for both of you.
Few of us adore paperwork, but it’s a part of business. So, either get comfortable with it, or get it off your plate.
4. You Resent Being Told What to Do (by Anyone)
No one likes an unreasonable or overly bossy boss, but the true fish-out-of-water 9-to-5-er tends to cringe when she gets even a whiff of “authority for the sake of being the authority” going on.
If you feel a bubbling rage when asked to attend a meeting you don’t want to go to, or work on a project you don’t think is a priority, this could be a warning sign. If you don’t think you shouldn’t have to arrive at a certain time or put in a request for vacation time at all? The writing’s on the wall.
What to Do If You’re Not Having it with Authority
If you’re feeling super resentful about having to answer to anyone, it may be a clear indicator that you’re meant to be your own boss. This isn’t me saying, “March right in and quit, my friend.” Slow your roll. In many cases, this could be reckless. But if you truly despise working on someone else’s agenda, consider how you might earn a living as the one who gets to make the agenda.
No matter how forcefully or consistently people wormed into your head that the formula for success always involves a 9-to-5 job, it’s just not true.
If you’re simply not cut out for one, don’t spend years pining away for something else. Instead, find strategic, creative, or brave ways to redefine your current role, or create your own.

NextGovernor: When I saw Kcee attacked Hush Puppi I just laughed. Though I am not in support of Hush Puppi but have to air my view.
I know Kcee very well. I know his root. He was living in Parma, Italy. He was selling drugs (coicaine) in streets. Him and Presh were living together in the same house.
I normally go on vacations to Italy then and was staying in the same building with Kcee and Presh but different Condo. Kcee & Presh was down while my friend was upstairs. He use to come to the condo I stay to see my friends then. He wasn't famous then.
I have alot of hidden and illegal deals he has done and will leave that for another day. Even E-money story is in my palm.
It's a pity that even Kcee still get mouth dey talk about legit funds....
lifeispeace: Good afternoon my big nairaland family... I'm in peril right now... My ex boss has taken all the joy and happiness in my life...
I recently got a job in a small law firm as a secretary with a small amount of salary for startup.. Just 2weeks ago, I noticed that my boss started growing cold towards me... I searched myself several times to know if I had offended him in any way.... I was always punctual in my place of work, courteous to visitors, and always polite.... He went away on a trip, and sent a letter for me through mail that my services won't be needed any more that I shouldn't bother to come back...
I was shocked perplexed and everything bad thing you can think of... I am so sad... He hasn't paid me my 2months salary and he has said he won't be able to pay because of recent downturn in revenue in the office.. The first month he said this I continued working because I felt he will eventually pay... Now he has retrenched me, I'm hopeless.... I have borrowed things on credit hoping to pay when he pays me... Now I'm severely stranded... I am so vexed right now.... I know I can't afford a lawyer to sue him but Karma is surely my strengthhold... I'm really tempted to expose the firm.. But you will never know when it could come back to haunt you...
In this life I will surely make it against all odds... Nevertheless all enemies of progress like my former boss and plenty more that are coming
are you sure u did nothin wrong?.. We all face challenges..Keep your head up..Keep pushing hopeful..Life goes on
julimartins: Good morning y'all.....a friend of mine has had series of abortion and she is still having one right now.....she claims it is menstrual pain but I know it's not,a lot of things gave me the conviction that it is not and she keeps coming up with excuses.....more like she is trying to fool me,thinking I don't know what's going on.
while she was washing clothes outside, I decided to check the drugs she was using and I browsed about it and there it was!
I really feel like talking to her about it because of the serious pains she is going through and i am scared that the next one might be her womb or even death......Buh another part of me is telling me to mind my business.
and the most annoying part is that the guy she is doing it for is going about telling his friends about it and it is spreading....... please what do I do?
Are you a student? Do you live together?
My advice is for you to park out or distance yourself from her. Make she no put you for trouble...btw how old is she?
