IamtheTruth1:To Be A Man Song by Dax Lyrics I can't hide myself I don't expect you to understand I just hope I can explain What it's like to be a man It's a lonely road And they don't care 'bout what you know It's not 'bout how you feel But what you provide inside that home Yeah, I know this life can really beat you down, uh You wanna scream but you won't make a sound, uh Got so much weight that you've been holdin' But won't show any emotion, as a man, that goes unspoken That we can't cry when life gets hard Unconditional love for women, children and dogs We know that we just have to play our parts And don't nobody give a damn about our broken hearts, yeah As a man, we gotta pave our way Our only function is to work and slave There's no respect for you if you ain't paid You're disregarded as a human and you can't complain And if you ever make it up and actually reach that place And find a woman that you love and give her your last name You'll feel the things that you provide is only why she stays And when you try to explain, you'll say I can't hide myself I don't expect you to understand I just hope I can explain What it's like to be a man (what it's like to be a man) It's a lonely road (it's a lonely road) And they don't care 'bout what you know (care 'bout what you know) It's not 'bout how you feel But what you provide inside that home Don't give up, keep fightin' As a man, our son is our horizon And our fathers' actions play a role and we end up like him So they can't let us see them hurt 'Cause we'll embody what we do and start a generational curse No wonder most men are so depressed All the things that they can't express They go to war, get thrown on the shelf Then go back to war with they mental health Then grab that bottle and ask for help Try to pull themselves out of hell Then fall back down and then realize That they gon' have to do it themselves It's the circle of life, as a man, you provide They don't know what you're worth 'til the day that you die And that's when they start cryin' Then move on to a man to confide in That's why we feel We can't hide ourselves We don't expect you to understand We just hope we can explain What it's like to be a man (what it's like to be a man) It's a lonely road (it's a lonely road) And you don't care 'bout what we know (care 'bout what we know) It's not 'bout how we feel But what we provide inside that home (inside that home) That home It's not 'bout how we feel But what we provide inside that home (inside that home) Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Alex Nour / Daniel Nwosu Jr. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHxip2x-PLc |

o2:Yes, you do need to apply for a visa from Canada |
slushy:What restrictions are attached to the post-March COPR |
beckycute1:I might be able to help...have you landed already? You can send me a PM |
. |
Ndawe:Well, the more options you are qualified for, the better (HSE or Chemistry) but you actually will find opportunities in both fields in almost all provinces, You can randomly search for the positions of both professions on platforms like indeed.ca for different cities or provinces just to have an idea of the number and frequency of job availability in the discipline. Generally speaking though, Ontario has the largest manufacturing sector in my estimate. |
Ndawe:How many years of HSE work experience did you garner in Nigeria before leaving? If you intend exploring the HSE field as an option when you get to Canada, I'd advise you better start with writing the CSP exam (Board of Certified Safety Professionals-BCSP) right now in the US. That would ultimately you a good leverage towards obtaining the Canadian equivalent (CRSP). As for the best province to live based on job prospects, its common knowledge that Alberta's economy is heavily tied to the prosperity of the Oil and Gas sector which has been dealt copious blows over the years especially in recent times. At this time, I'd generally advise newcomers to look elsewhere (other provinces) if there's no particular edge/advantage (e.g family ties or concrete job offers) coming to Alberta offers them. |
Ndawe:. |
TRAY2:Wow! That's cool. Unlike the initial no-fee 1 year renewal they offered the frontline workers whose visa renewal fell due between March and September which excluded their dependants! |
TRAY2:Please, is there any inclination that dependants (spouses & children) of foreign NHS workers will be exempted from paying the IHS surcharge as well? |
salford1:Interesting!!! |
salford1:Wow! @bolded, is this person a black or white Canadian? |
salford1:Spot on! |
teejay231:Erm...I won't exactly say British citizens have a different pathway for migration to Canada because the Express Entry pathway doesn't discriminate on the basis of nationality as I know of British citizens who have migrated to Canada through the Express Entry route. So, the category you referenced is actually a 'Working Holiday category' which is designed for British citizens who intend to travel in Canada and who wish to find temporary paid employment to help pay for their trip (up to 24 months) The Working Holiday category is only for British citizens between the ages of 18 and 30 and they cannot be accompanied by dependants. The holiday category is therefore like an extended holiday work visa which definitely wouldn't fit every Briton's idea of how to migrate to Canada from the UK otherwise, Britons intending to migrate with dependants would have been unable to migrate to Canada. While on the Work Holiday visa some may over time, try to switch their visa category but I reckon that those who qualify for the Express Entry would rather go directly through that route which is also faster and grants them immediate permanent residence more especially so, if they've got dependants they intend migrating with. The link below explains further. https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/iec/eligibility.asp?country=gb&cat=wh&#country_category_name_cont |
Monmarri:Yes, there's no particular advantage, a Briton has over a Nigerian in the Canadian Express Entry process, it's entirely point based and all applicants are assessed on a level playing field. If you've got the time, the thread link below would guide you to more details: https://www.nairaland.com/5471101/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled |
bellong:@bolded is seconded. Certainly, as a Canadian citizen, its visa-free to visit Australia but moving for work is a whole different ball game. In my opinion, if they've got the resources, they probably can try securing both PR while age and other factors are still in their favour. |
stonecoldcafe: pele..no be small thing...the way one will be rejoicing when you see a +1 weather forecast ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkDvqQKGgDA |
Calgary this morning!

salford:@bolded, probably true, I gather some Nigerian oil & gas folks may have even have left Canada to go work in the middle east after the downturn in recent years (with or without their family) and only visit Canada for holidays. |
Amujale:Well, I'm not a journalist but I found the news article below eerily similar and this happened in August 2019... https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9746415/girl-sucked-swimming-pool-pump-spain/ IN TOO DEEP Screaming girl, 6, ‘sucked into swimming pool pump and left trapped for three hours in agony’ on Costa del Sol holiday EXCLUSIVE Brittany VonowTim McNulty 18 Aug 2019, 14:37Updated: 19 Aug 2019, 14:06 A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl was sucked into a swimming pool pump and left trapped for three hours in agony while on holiday in Costa del Sol, her family claim. Terrified Zara Clarkson desperately had to keep her head above water for hours as firefighters armed with jackhammers smashed through the pool's concrete wall to free her. Zara had her arm badly damaged in the pool side incident at Costa del Sol Zara Clarkson's arm was sucked into the pool while she swam while on a family holiday The little girl's arm has since swollen three times its normal size - with doctors fearing she could have suffered blood poisoning from the suction. Dad Zack, 46, of Manchester, said: "Zara was panicking and screamed out ‘daddy the pool is sucking me and it won’t stop'. "Something with that kind of suction would have easily pulled a smaller child under the water and they would have been killed." Zack said his instinct had been to drag his daughter’s arm out but he stopped knowing this risked causing even greater damage. Instead, he stayed "cheek to cheek" with Zara keeping her calm as emergency services attempted to saw open the pool’s drainage system. Zara was panicking and screamed out ‘daddy the pool is sucking me and it won’t stop' Dad Zack Clarkson He said: "She is a brave little kid but of course, but it has had an effect on her, she is really upset and has told us she never wants to go swimming again." The dad and daughter were enjoying their first family holiday at the luxury villa in Estepona with Zara’s twin sister Lucy and their mum Claire, 42, having only brought the property in the Villas de Santa Maria at Christmas. But the trip was ruined as little Zara became stuck on Friday, with dramatic images showing the poolside patio torn up circular saws and drills used by emergency services. Zack added: "I am a tough lad but my first thought was to go to the corner of the pool and have a quiet sob. Zara’s mum Claire added: "It was unbearable, I felt helpless and just wanted her out." Doctors now fear that the force of the suction may have forced toxins to be released into Zara’s bloodstream. It had been claimed in respected local newspaper Diario Sur that the pump switch was turned off at the time of the incident but Zack denied it The Sun has contacted the villa for comment. Mum Claire said she felt helpless as she watched her little girl get sucked into the pool filter Zara's arm was left badly damaged Emergency crews used drill hammers to get the little girl It took emergency services hours to get the little girl out Zara was tested by docs who feared she could have suffered kidney damage |
TRAY2:This is crazy!!! GBP625 NHS surchage per annum? |
linearity:Without a CCTV footage of the incident, all most of us can do is speculate. Check out the story below where a 6 year-old girl almost drowned at a similar or same Spanish resort (the pool picture looks so similar to the one in question) in August of this year (4 months ago). While the specific scenario might be different, its interesting to note that the resort also disputed with the girl's father on the facts of the story in that instance. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9746415/girl-sucked-swimming-pool-pump-spain/ IN TOO DEEP Screaming girl, 6, ‘sucked into swimming pool pump and left trapped for three hours in agony’ on Costa del Sol holiday EXCLUSIVE Brittany VonowTim McNulty 18 Aug 2019, 14:37Updated: 19 Aug 2019, 14:06 A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl was sucked into a swimming pool pump and left trapped for three hours in agony while on holiday in Costa del Sol, her family claim. jamela:Ok. I get it. It sure calls for careful scrutiny then. Just that with Brexit almost certain to kick in by January 31st, some immigration laws may still be tweaked before the end of 2020 as the UK will have just 11 months till December 2020 to finally exit the EU. |
jamela:If you dont mind, can you share what happens in a scenario where one losses a job while on Tier 2 so we probably can learn a thing or two. I would have thought a Tier 2 visa should be one of your viable options for consideration in this case. |
Olybobo:Welcome bro! You didn't add info on the city you're residing in. That info would help you get customized info relevant to the specific environment you're in not just generic Canada information. May the land favour you. Cheers! |
Nozzle:I've responded! |
Debzyworld:Have you joined any Whatsap group for Nigerians in Calgary? The one I belong to definitely have a party planned for this season. Send me a PM and I'll see if I can get the admins to add you to the group. But do that quickly if you're interested as vacant spaces fill up quite fast in the group. Cheers! |
Melodyy19:Your're absolutely free to land and reside anywhere in Canada (maybe with the exception of Quebec), if your PR is not province-based / sponsored. |
sharpman1:Op, very important advice especially as it pertains to the western world with all sorts of social media / cyber privacy laws. And the government over here can pretty much track down almost anyone they chose to via their online/digital footprints even if one is anonymous on a public online forum. |
Holarh:There are a couple of cable options available in Calgary. It'll also depend on what kind of household 'audience' you have and their unique entertainment needs. I can connect you with a suitable plan if those details are clarified. You can send me a PM and we'll take it from there! |
Jbelieve:I get you, Its similar but still very different in some way to what obtains in Nigeria...you'll probably understand einsteino's perspective better when you've been in the system (Canada) for a while. |
