I live on that route, use the train and can confirm that the last bus stop is Mile 2. There are no tracks afterwards for now.

Th train journeys from Marina to Mile 2 multiple times daily. After Mile 2 are other areas like Alakija, Abulado....till Okoko where it ought to end but they're in court with Ojo residents who are resisting demolition.

yes funding was an issue and that was one of the reasons construction didn’t start on time……constructing a light rail project is capital intensive for a sub national to undertake and some countries can’t even afford it…..so I just marvel when some ignorant people come online and make criticism without having the knowledge or right information

There are also many factors that slowed down the progress, the terrain of the area which some part are swampy, they also needed pay compensation for property owners because some properties have to give way, then also funding…..after it was started by fashola, ambode didnt fund the project through his tenure which was one the reasons he was removed…..so there are a lot of factors but thank God work is almost completed on the mile to Okoko corridor and it will be completed next year.

The pace at which they're going, you're sure it'll be completed next year?

I hope you commute that route to say this as Ojo people are in court for their properties not to be demolished to give way for the project.

People saying his rent is too high, he may have been paying about 600k if it's Lagos but the landlord has increased the rent. The trade off to keep the apartment is the lesser tfare to work.

If he moves farther for a cheaper apartment, the transportation budget would double or triple if care isn't taken especially if he resides in Lagos.

bros, there is no area in Lagos state where majority are strruggl;ing to feed...in the shacks of makoko, otto, and ajegunle, you would see many residents installing dstv and doing premium subscription monthly. forget the appearances of some places that look like slum in Lagos, residents there are financially stable

I moved to Surulere few years ago.. I was initially squatting with someone before I got a place.
The first place I got was at odejayi crescent, an agent took me to the Landlord knowing fully well the man is not reliable. The house was under renovation and he claimed everything will me set in 2weeks max.. 2 weeks became 5months and the man kept on promising, I started asking for refund 2 months after but there's never a positive response I got frustrated and had to involve the service of a lawyer I knew to get 90% of my money..

The second place was at Cole, a supposed self con in a very old building which I desperately moved into thinking I would be able to manage.. I did the little I could to make the apartment livable for me even though it was generally a terrible place. A self con where I will have to leave my room to go to the kitchen and the the toilet and people outside can see me moving around.. I was managing until it started to rain, rain soaked the walls of my apartment making the painting pull off the wall, water drip into my apartment uncontrollably , my supposed kitchen which was basically the corridor to the toilet would be filled with water.. I later noticed the soakaway pipe was just directly by my window and many other complaints like the person up bathing and the water drips in front of my room and soak up the ceiling. I kept complaining to the caretaker and landlord, nothing was done about it and to worsen the whole thing, I saw a scorpion creep into my room and it was that day I knew I wouldn't even complete 1yr in that apartment. I moved out and went back to my family house at Abaranje and continued the stress to work..

One year ago, I got an apartment that I really like and I like it even more because it's a new building and I'm the first to occupy it.. I paid my rent, service charge, agency and commission as I should..
I'm about to renew now and I'm just realising my apartment is on lease and the agent in charge said I am her tenant and I should come and formally buy her form and pay her another agreement fee or I should move out.

Sometimes, I wonder if these agents and Landlords have conscience at all

Let's not even talk about the old buildings doubling their rent and competing with new buildings and then the greedy agents and Landlords dishing out quit notice just to get another agency/commission fee
