IamAtAnger: Of all places Mowe for 15m Naira and u still say its giveaway ... Well done I'm amazed at the price. I think anyone that wants to buy at a good deal should buy from families that are genuinely selling. A relation bought 9m for a half plot with a room self-con and a mini flat on it and it was occupied by the seller's mum. The location is Ibafo and the area advertised here is after Ibafo. The agent's margin may be driving the price too high. |

Family › Re: Redeem Vs. Catholic: Calling Off Wedding Plans by Esthered: 2:57pm On Mar 04 |
What's the confusion here OP?
Weddings are done in the bride's church. After the wedding, she can join you or whatever you agree. In local parlance, na women get wedding. I got married in my parents church and joined hubby to worship in hhis church after the wedding.
You can skip church wedding to broker peace.
My cousin is married to a catholic and they didn't do church wedding. It was court and a date was fixed for a reception party and had ministers she (her family) invited.
She goes to mass with her hubby sometimes but she's allowed to attend Harvesters where she's a worker.
If you insist on a catholic wedding, please look for a wife among your catholic friends..... you both aren't agreeing and negating Amos 3:3 which is the foundation of marriage. |

It's spreading to other states and if care isn't taken, the entire country.
I thought it was resource control that was the reason for banditry but it's far from that.
The state governors of these affected regions aren't doing things for these youth in terms of education, job creation, mechanized farming..... |
Health › Re: Lady Commits Suicide In Ogba, Lagos, Over Financial Struggles by Esthered: 10:36am On Feb 20 |
emmaodet: You scaled through because things became better. There are those who have been in poverty for years struggling without any freedom in sight despite their efforts. At that point, it is very easy to commit suicide.
To me, even suicide is better than the depression leading to mental illness. My own brother fell into heavy depression which has affected him and he has been misbehaving for sometime despite the money, time and effort been spent. In suicide, the family feel the pain and loss instantly and move on within a year. With mental illness, you feel the pain and stress every blessed day the person is still alive with the stigma that comes with it. Yesterday, i was called by my dad to come home (another town) because he is misbehaving. I got there and someone who always respect me even if he disrespects others was very aggressive against me and disrespected me. I called Aro, they said 350k per month Edijalo Mental home said 500k per month. Can you compare the financial wastage and stress with stigma to suicide? Sorry about your experience as you're writing from the place of pain. I pray your brother gets well. |

Islam › Re: Things I Won’t Do As A Wife by Esthered: 11:24am On Feb 06 |
AbuTwins: Islam is the Only Religion That Gave Women Identity Islam uniquely honors and grants women a clear, dignified identity rooted in divine guidance, setting it apart from Christianity and other faiths.
Islam’s Affirmation of Women’s Identity: #The Qur'an explicitly recognizes women as full moral and spiritual beings with rights and responsibilities. Allah says: “And for women are rights over men similar to those of men over women...” (Qur’an 2:228)
#The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized respect and kindness toward women, stating: “The best of you are those who are best to their women.” (Tirmidhi)
#Islam grants women rights to inheritance, education, marriage consent, and economic independence—rights that were revolutionary at the time of revelation.
Comparison with Christianity: #While Christianity preaches spiritual equality, traditional interpretations often placed women in subordinate roles, sometimes limiting their public religious participation. For example, 1 Corinthians 14:34 instructs women to be silent in churches, which has historically been used to restrict women’s roles.
#The Bible’s creation narrative (Genesis 2) has been interpreted by some to imply woman’s secondary status, created from man’s rib, whereas Islam teaches that men and women were created from a single soul: “O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul...” (Qur’an 4:1)
#Islam’s legal and social framework actively protects women’s rights and identity, while Christianity’s historical practices often reflected patriarchal cultural norms.
Checking the Christian scriptures you'll never see the input of any woman in the compilation of the Bible! They were all men - Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, etc! This is too loud!
Islam is the only religion that gave women a clear, honored identity with comprehensive rights and dignity from its inception, supported by divine scripture and prophetic teachings. It elevated women’s status spiritually, socially, and legally, ensuring their full humanity and individuality, unlike Christianity’s historical approach which often subordinated women under cultural interpretations. The women in Afghanistan are honored with identity.... as you claim? |
