What Is Non-Alcoholic Wine? Confusingly, there is no such thing as non-alcoholic wine. Legally, winemakers should refer to their beverage as a “wine-based-drink” if the alcohol level dips below 8% ABV. If you’re on the lookout for wine with zero alcohol, you may want to opt for a couple of mocktails instead, because even wines that claim to be alcohol free may be 0.05% ABV. However, if you just fancy lowering your alcohol intake, there are plenty on the market. But keep in mind that while some alcohol-free wines are as low as 0.05%, others are 1.2% ABV. How Is Non-Alcoholic Wine Made? The winemaking process of these alcohol-free wines is usually the same as any other red wine or white wine. However, it's when the winemaker removes the alcohol that things get complicated. Not only do they have to remove the alcohol from the fermented grape juice, but they must do so without removing the flavors, mouthfeel, and everything else that makes a glass of wine so special. While some non-alcoholic winemakers choose distillation as their chosen method (opting to add the aromatics back into the blend later), others use reverse osmosis. Reverse osmosis is a more cost effective and sophisticated way of removing alcohol from wine. It uses a cross flow filtration system to separate elements by their molecular sizes. If you’re not doing sugar right now, be careful — one of the problems with non-alcoholic wine is it can be very high in sugar. Winemakers have to add plenty of it in order to match wine’s trademark mouthfeel. Note Not all Non-alcoholic DRINKS has alcohol, but all Non- alcoholic WINES/BEERS has alcohol If your religion say alcohol na sin, no drink Non-alcoholic wine/beer dey decieve your self say you no dey drink alcohol |

Paulo Dybala’s contract extension remains one of the biggest issues Juventus is facing at the moment. The Argentinian is a key member of the squad in Turin and should be kept in the group. However, his fitness has been a problem and Juve is no longer happy to give him whatever he wants to keep him. This has opened the door for the former Palermo man to join another club at the end of this season. Todofichajes claims the attacker has reached a pre-contract agreement with Manchester City already. The English club is one of the teams that can offer him what he is asking for from the Bianconeri. The report claims Pep Guardiola has personally called Dybala and explained to him the role he would take up in his team. The Citizens have now agreed to a four-year deal with him worth €10M per season, a figure Juve had refused to reach in negotiations with him. If this report is true, it could be a development that forces Juventus into the transfer market again in the summer. The arrival of Dusan Vlahovic at the club means we would have one of the hottest strikers in the world. However, he would need support from other quality forwards at the club. If Dybala and Alvaro Morata leaves by the end of this season, we would probably need to splash the cash again in the summer. |
Fiorentina's sporting director has confirmed that Manchester City have beaten the Serie A side to the signing of in-demand River Plate striker, Julian Alvarez, as per newly-relayed quotes from Italian media. Fiorentina Director Confirms Manchester City Have 'Taken' In-Demand Striker Fiorentina's sporting director has confirmed that Manchester City have beaten the Serie A side to the signing of in-demand River Plate striker, Julian Alvarez, as per newly-relayed quotes from Italian media. SRINIVAS SADHANANDJAN 27, 2022 It was recently confirmed by none other than transfer expert Fabrizio Romano this week that Julian Alvarez’s move to Manchester City from Argentine giants River Plate was all but done. With a report claiming that the official announcement for the Argentine international would be made before Friday of this week, Pep Guardiola’s side finally have their hands on a natural striker. However, the Premier League champions were not the only club involved in the race to lure the youngster’s signature, with a host of sides including La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid reportedly interested in the 21-year old. As per a recent report by Firenze Viola, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness, Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has admitted that Manchester City beat his side in the race to sign Julian Alvarez. “We followed him for a long time. But there was never a need to take him, and now he has been taken by Manchester City”, Daniele Prade confessed. The Fiorentina officials went on to explain why the move may not end up working in ideal fashion for Alvarez, saying, “I don’t know if the choice of going to (Manchester) City is the right one for him, given the many champions (in their team) - it will be difficult to find continuity.” Considering Dusan Vlahovic was one of Manchester City’s prime targets as a possible successor to Sergio Aguero, Julian Alvarez may have ended up at Fiorentina with the Serb joining the Premier League champions if things worked out differently. But ultimately, Manchester City look like they have signed the River Plate marksman, while Vlahovic has is understood to be on the brink of joining fellow Serie A rivals Juventus this month. Touching on Daniele Prade’s point about why Julian Alvarez’s switch to Pep Guardiola’s side may not end up working, it is key to always remember that the club's recent track record in terms of scouting players is second to none. With Alvarez looking set to pick Manchester City as his next destination, it is testament to the club’s reputation as one of the most successful and well-run sides in the world. |

The prospect of not being a regular starter for Manchester City has been revealed as a key reason behind Cristiano Ronaldo's decision not to join Pep Guardiola's side last summer, as per a new report by the Athletic. After Manchester City’s failure to sign Tottenham's Harry Kane last summer, a sensational swoop for the then Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo as the club’s potential new striker looked to be on the cards. However, things ultimately failed to pan out that way, and the legendary Portuguese striker made a shock and emotional return to Manchester United after 12 years away from the club. Pep Guardiola’s side have not felt the effects of missing out on the veteran’s signature, as their fluid false-nine system has propelled the club to the top of the Premier League table, with a sizeable eleven-point gap over second-place Liverpool. A major question mark that remains to this day is precisely why the deal between Manchester City and Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo never ended up coming to fruition, despite lengthy and intense talks. As per a new report by the Athletic’s Adam Crafton and other leading football correspondents, Cristiano Ronaldo held ‘extensive talks’ with Manchester City, leaving his now former-Juventus teammates under the ‘impression’ that he was ready to join the Premier League champions. Further details suggest that a major factor behind why a potential transfer broke down was due to Cristiano Ronaldo having been ‘concerned’ that he may not be ‘guaranteed’ a starting place at Manchester City. Pep Guardiola has a reputation for rotating his side throughout the course of a season, in accordance with the opposition and keeping his players on their toes - as seen with one of the club's mainstays in Ruben Dias and his surprise exclusion against Chelsea last weekend. With the incessant chopping and changing of the starting XI and the club’s incredible success without deploying a natural number nine last season, it is likely that even an elite goalscorer such as Cristiano Ronaldo would have struggled to nail down his place in Pep Guardiola's XI. It is a testament to the incredibly high standards set at Manchester City that an all-time great such as Cristiano Ronaldo is reported to have considered the competition for places as too fierce for his liking to confirm an arrival at the Etihad Stadium. The fourth round of the FA Cup has been drawn with plenty of Premier League sides still in contention, despite a number of top-flight clubs being sent packing already It's been an incredible weekend of FA Cup action with several upsets making it a thrilling third round to remember. A few Premier League sides have already bit the dust, including Burnley who were eliminated by Huddersfield despite leading at Turf Moor as Newcastle were also handed a huge shock as they were dumped out by Cambridge on home soil. Holders Leicester won the first of three all-Premier League encounters to beat Watford, before West Ham edged a close affair against Leeds. Chelsea and Manchester City unsurprisingly breezed through their ties against Chesterfield and Swindon respectively, while Brentford cruised past Port Vale, Wolves beat Sheffield United and Norwich nabbed a late winner against Charlton. Others have also survived close scares, with Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Liverpool all coming from behind to win their ties against lower league opposition. A late equaliser by Brighton took their game with West Brom to extra time before Neal Maupay sealed the tie for the Seagulls, as Everton and Southampton also relied on the added period to each overcome Championship opposition. Elsewhere, QPR won a nail-biting penalty shootout 8-7 after drawing with Rotherham over 120 minutes, as Barnsley nicked the nine-goal cracker they shared with Barrow There are also places in the fourth round for sides in the National League. Arsenal welcomed Manchester City to the Emirates on Saturday in what turned into one of the games of the season with controversy aplenty in north London. Bukayo Saka fired an impressive Arsenal into the lead in the first half, finishing coolly from a Kieran Tierney pass to give Mikel Arteta's men a deserved 1-0 advantage. But a shirt-pull from Granit Xhaka on Bernardo Silva gave City the perfect opportunity to draw level from the penalty spot, Riyad Mahrez making no mistake after a VAR check. Just moments later, Gabriel Magalhaes received a second yellow card for a lazy body-check on Gabriel Jesus, further infuriating the home crowd. Rodri sent the away fans into bedlam in injury time when he poked home the winner, leaving too Arsenal fans and players deflated at full time. In an action-packed match, Arsenal striker Gabriel Martinelli still managed to find his way into the heart of the action again, although not by finding the back of the net. While the Gunners still held a slim advantage, the Brazilian was on the receiving end of a clattering challenge from Rodri, leaving him in pain on the north London turf. But some eagle-eyed supporters watching back home noticed referee Stuart Attwell appeared to kick the head of Martinelli while he writhed in agony. @BamBamMickey said: "The referee kicked Martinelli in the head lol." @ZanyFi said: "Anybody else see the referee's shin on Martinelli's face?" @AFC_Aubamelli said: "Ref kicked Martinelli in the head, send him off. Needs to give himself a red." The incident was of course completely accidental and did not appear to harm Martinelli in the slightest but added yet another bizarre moment to a dramatic game. |
Manchester City full back Joao Cancelo has revealed that he was "assaulted by four cowards", but escaped with only a small cut to his head. Cancelo took to Instagram on Thursday to announce that the assailants also tried to hurt his family, though only made off with some jewellery in the end. The 27-year-old posted a picture of his face after the altercation, saying: "Unfortunately, today I was assaulted by four cowards who hurt me and tried to hurt my family. "When you show resistance, this is what happens. They managed to take all my jewellery and leave me with my face with this state. "I don't know how there are people with such meanness. The most important thing for me is my family and luckily they are all okay. "After so many obstacles in my life, this is just one more that I will overcome. Firm and strong, like always." |
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes Kevin De Bruyne is only going to improve following his impressive recent goalscoring form. The midfield maestro heads into Wednesday's showdown with Brentford having found the net three times in City's past three Premier League outings. That included a brace in the 7-0 rout of Leeds United on December 14, with no player on target more often in the English top flight since then. De Bruyne, who also scored the opener in the Premier League leaders' entertaining 6-3 win over Leicester City on December 26, has been a revelation since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in August 2015. Indeed, no player has registered more assists (77) or created more chances (572) than the Belgium international over the past six years. Guardiola says the recent surge in De Bruyne's performances has been evident following a difficult spell earlier this season. "He is getting better, by far," the Man City boss said. "He has something unique in the world. We know that he is an exceptional player. "He struggled in the beginning of the season, and now is much, much better. "The game against Leeds was really good, and [against Leicester] he played a really, really good home game. "He is a fighter and a guy who creates goals and assists. We know it." Full of momentum, City travel to the Brentford Community Stadium seeking a 10th successive league victory. Nevertheless, Guardiola insists his side cannot take anything for granted against the promoted Bees, who have already beaten Arsenal, drawn with Liverpool and given Chelsea a scare during their maiden Premier League campaign. "They made an incredible start of the season. They are doing really well," he added. "I saw the game against Chelsea; they lost, but they were incredible. They drew against Liverpool, they beat Arsenal. [They are a] top team." |
Five key Manchester City players were seemingly missing from a pre-Brentford training session on Monday afternoon. The Blues moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a nervy win at home to Leicester City. Pep Guardiola's side had raced into a four goal lead prior to the interval, but the Foxes scored three times in quick succession after the half-time break to re-ignite the contest. However, 10 minutes later, two goals from Aymeric Laporte and Raheem Sterling put the result beyond any doubt. The next task for the Premier League leaders is a trip to the top-flight's newcomers Brentford - a side that have proven to be a tricky task for the so-called 'big six'. Ahead of the midweek clash on the eve of 2022, five players were seemingly missing in training before this clash, from the video footage and pictures provided by ManCity.com across the course of Monday evening: Rodri The Spaniard was sidelined against Leicester City for what Manchester City described as being 'not fully fit'. Rodri has been vital to the Manchester City's successful season so far and losing him for an extended period of time will hurt the Blues immensely. Once again however, the former Atletico Madrid man was not spotted training with the rest of the team on Monday afternoon, so one may presume that he will be out of action again on Wednesday. Kyle Walker Another player who was described as being 'not fully fit' at the weekend, but has not been involved in the team since his red card in the Champions League against RB Leipzig, is right-back Kyle Walker. With some key fixtures upcoming, Pep Guardiola will want his star right-back at his disposal sooner rather than later. John Stones The centre-back has had a stop-start beginning to the campaign and that looks likely to take continue for a little while longer. Manchester City described John Stones as being 'injured' before the clash with Leicester, and the Englishman was not spotted again today. Joao Cancelo / Oleksandr Zinchenko Both of Manchester City's full-backs for the Boxing Day victory against Leicester City were not spotted in the pictures or videos of Monday's session. Although, it must be stressed at this point that it is often normal for players who have played the day before to rest and recover in the gym - their absence does not necessarily equate to an injury or a positive Covid-19 test. |
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has named one area Liverpool is better than his team. Guardiola said that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is better than Man City in terms of ‘quick attacking’. Liverpool and Chelsea are six points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City on the log, but the Reds have a game in hand. “We cannot attack quicker. We are not Liverpool,” Guardiola was quoted by Manchester Evening News as saying. "They are masters at that, we are not. We don’t know what we have to do with that. We know we have to drive, to drive, to drive and to play with the ball.” Guardiola added, “Patience doesn’t mean lazy, slow. It’s the ball. If you have the ball, you are in order and everything is stable. “Stability is the ball. It’s not about defending 40 metres behind or 40 metres upfront, or high pressing, or defending, or long balls, or whatever. To be stable as a team, it’s the ball, no more than that.” |
Manchester City survived a spirited Leicester City fightback to prevail 6-3 winners in a thrilling Boxing Day encounter at the Etihad Stadium. Though pegged back to 4-3 from 4-0 up, Pep Guardiola's men moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League following a ninth successive victory, with second-placed Liverpool having played a game less. Kevin De Bruyne scored the first of four goals for the hosts inside the opening 25 minutes, while a pair of penalties from Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling sandwiched Ilkay Gundogan's strike. The Foxes came roaring back after the break as James Maddison, Ademola Lookman and Kelechi Iheanacho threatened the most unlikely comeback, but Aymeric Laporte and Sterling got the Citizens back on track and secured the points. Man City took the lead in the fifth minute following neat interplay as De Bruyne controlled Fernandinho’s lofted pass into the box before sweeping past Kasper Schmeichel. The hosts doubled the advantage with Mahrez, who had lost in all five of his previous Premier League appearances on Boxing Day, firing home from 12 yards after Youri Tielemans bundled over Laporte. Gundogan made it 3-0 after another lovely exchange of passes culminated in Schmeichel parrying Joao Cancelo's low cross straight to the Germany international, who made no mistake from close range. Three became four soon after, with Tielemans the offender again as he brought down Sterling, who picked himself up and emphatically swept his penalty into the top corner. Nevertheless, Leicester responded brilliantly after the break. The visitors halved the deficit by the hour mark with a couple of quickfire counters resulting in Iheanacho well-timed throughballs for Maddison and Lookman to finish. Former Man City forward Iheanacho then got in on the act to reduce the arrears to a single goal, but the hosts pulled clear from two Mahrez corners, with Laporte and Sterling profiting. What does it mean? Relief for Man City They may have resumed their red-hot form, but Man City will have breathed a huge sigh of relief after the fright Leicester gave them. Nevertheless, that is a ninth win for the Citizens in 11 Premier League meetings between the sides, while they have now won their last seven home games on Boxing Day. But December 26 is certainly not to the liking of the Foxes, who now boast just one victory from their last 12 top-flight matches on the day after Christmas. Sterling form continues The England international resumed his sterling recent form with another two goals, while no player bettered his three shots on target. The forward has now found the net in each of his last four Premier League matches, doing so in the English top flight for the first time since between August and September 2017. Iheanacho impresses With a goal and two assists to his name, the former Man City forward can count himself unlucky to be on the losing side on his return to the Etihad. Like Sterling, Iheanacho also registered a game-high three shots on target while winning two of his three duels, with no Leicester player recording a better percentage(66.7). What’s next? Man City look to make it 10 successive league wins when they travel to Brentford on Wednesday – the day after Leicester aim to bounce back and build on their spirited second-half display at home to Liverpool. |
Jack Grealish admits adapting to life at Manchester City has been "so much more difficult than I thought" and accepts the pressure that comes with his £100million price tag. Attacking midfielder Grealish has yet to properly hit top form for the Premier League champions since his bumper move from Aston Villa in the last transfer window. So far, Grealish has contributed three goals, three assists and created 44 chances for his team-mates across 20 appearances in all competitions. The spotlight was on Grealish and team-mate Phil Foden when the duo were pictured leaving a nightclub following City's 7-0 hammering of Leeds United, with the club said to have been unhappy with their condition when they turned up for a recovery session the following day. That saw both players miss out in the 4-0 rout of Newcastle United, though they could be back when Pep Guardiola's side host Leicester City on Boxing Day. Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of that fixture, Grealish reflected on life at City since his move. "I've done okay so far. I've got so much more to give. It's been so much more difficult than I thought it was going to be," he said. "I'm still learning and adapting. I've heard some people take a year to adapt here so maybe it will be the same for me. I want to score more and set up more goals next year. "It's crazy because the standards here are so high on and off the pitch. It's unbelievable and it's why they have been so successful over the years. "Having a £100m price tag means when you are going through a dry patch people ask if you are worth the money - where are his goals, where are his assists? I understand that, but I have to see it as a privilege that the club wanted to spend that much money on me and I hope I can repay them with goals and trophies. "Playing in the Champions League is completely different to the Premier League - I had never played in Europe before, and I really wanted to. It's unbelievable to hear the Champions League anthem, it makes you pinch yourself. It's one trophy the players here really want to win." Prior to his move to City, Grealish was part of the England side that reached the final of the rescheduled Euro 2020, only to suffer penalty shoot-out heartbreak against Italy in the Wembley final. Grealish described 2021 as the "best summer of my life" and is able to reflect back with pride on England's tournament. "Playing for England in the summer was unbelievable. Now it's gone, I look back on memories and photos and videos and I realise just how special it was," he added. "It was such a shame to lose on penalties, it is one of the worst ways to lose. Looking back it was definitely the best summer of my life. "It was special for the country and the players and our families. It was a shame we couldn't go all the way, but it makes us more motivated to go all the way in the World Cup next year. "Of course, we can win the World Cup. I'm not going to sit here and say we are going to win it. We've definitely got a good chance and the way we played in the Euros gives us belief that we can win the World Cup. "I came here to City to try and win trophies. That's what you look at when your career ends - trophies and medals. Losing out with England has made me want to win trophies with City even more. "We are playing some brilliant football at the moment and we are giving ourselves a really good chance of going on and winning a few trophies. That's why I came here." |
