Scamming has become so normal in Nigeria that when people read about it, they quickly blame the victims for falling victim. They aren't even calling out the scammers anymore. Triste.

Pakistan and Nigeria are birds of a feather.

Large land mass and human resources but bad leadership to harness our potentials.

Toronto is glaringly is a lesser hell than ISLAMABAD but it is still not eldorado as many immigrants who chose Canada initially are re-immigrating to other countries in droves.

But where is Eldorado, bro? The cost of living in Canada is biting, but I'm sure this lady didn't decide to run away because she thought it would be Eldorado. She did so simply because she believed it would be better than wherever she was. And that's exactly the mindset of most that move from one country to another. This same Canada people are leaving also receive a huge number of immigrants from other countries everyday including those that initially japa'ed to the UK. At the end, life isn't a bed of roses anywhere.

I feel bad for her cause she didn't take the normal asylum route. This means she'd live an "under-the-table" life for long, no health insurance, no social services. Things are already hard for those that have all these services, now imagine someone without them.

It's really crazy these days especially in Ontario.

Meanwhile, why is it that anytime someone complains about the cost of living wherever they are, the only response y'all give is "come back to Nigeria"? Are you saying that because they're not in Nigeria, they don't have the right to lament like every other person over there? Did she mention that Nigeria is better? The cost of living in Canada has been consistently going north in recent times. It makes nobody happy, so anyone who has been there for years will definitely complain. It doesn't mean they want to return to Nigeria. What would your reaction be if you, a resident of Port Harcourt or any other city, complained about the cost of living and you got the answer "go back to the village"? The lady wasn't complaining to you in Nigeria to come and do anything for her. She complained on her account to engage others that understand her plight.

You're not hurting anyone by not wanting to get married. Those that want to get married aren't hurting others. So just do what you want and let others do what they want. If you're confident in your decision, you shouldn't feel the need to convince others to do what you're doing.

The way some of y'all think, I wonder what goes on in your heads. You're comparing the outfit of singer/dancer with that of a former medical doctor? What has that got to do with thier races and thier husbands' wealth? Is Beyoncé herself not a billionair? Why do y'all police women like this? Aren't they white people that put on revealing outfits? Why do you hate yourselves this much? Someone up there called her olosho. A woman that met her husband when she was a 16 year old, when did she do the olosho business? Her husband that cheated on her isn't the olosho, it the woman that stuck with him that's olosho? Why are y'all dirty and unpolished with words on this platform?

Imagine someone is already blabbing on how he'll never marry a black woman, who cares? If you're not proud of the woman that raised you, that's probably because she didn't do a great job seeing how you turned out. I don't know why you guys aren't deep thinking enough to know that when you go out there and speak ill of your women, it circles right back to you. You can't isolate and call yourselves good men if your women are all bad. The white person you're eyeing doesn't make that distinction.

Why should you not do something that hurt other people, if it would benefit you?
You seem to say if something has being part of human society then it should be normalized then I only showed you such logic is flawed.
Just because something is has always being practiced doesn't make it abnormal. Human desires shouldn't be the standard.

gay or homosexuality is abnormal and should never be normalized. Passing laws to normalize what is abnormal is a no no.
what do you mean Africans, are there no westerners that are against homosexuality, why is it every Africa? In other to sound woke.

I don't understand your first question, so I'll just leave that. I never said because something has been part of society, it should be normalized. I said diversity is part of human nature. We're not even in a position to normalize it cause it's already normal. The worst we can do is criminalize it, but even that does change the fact that people are gay and more gay people will be born. They're everywhere; in your office, your neighborhood, your church, your extended family, etc. And I said, even if you don't agree with thier lifestyle, what's the justification for jailing them like they do in most African countries? Are they hurting anyone? If you don't like something, just don't do it.

We're talking about people's lives, you're talking about sounding woke. I said Africa cause the vast majority of countries where homosexuality is criminalized are in Africa. Individuals can have thier opinions, but we should be smart enough to live and let live.

I see where your confusion is stemming from. In a marketing organization, there's no difference between a brand name and a product. Every element, including the brand name, product, labeling and down to operational techniques are all crafted to fulfill consumer needs. It's impossible to disconnect one part from the others....
When you buy a Toyota car, you are buying the brand, the product, the logo, their business model and everything about Toyota.

Do you follow?
I'll be taking fees for my next reply 🙂

Lol... Dude, you're just running around without addressing anything. It's obvious you can't explain how copying another brand's name is a great strategy. All these childish attempts to dodge the bone of contention isn't deceiving anyone.

same way rapist, pedophiles and murders exist and should be accepted because of the beauty of diversity, as such desires are part of human nature? Right?

These people you mentioned took a decision to do what they're doing. Being gay is hormonal. There's a difference. Whether a gay person sleeps with someone of the same gender or not doesn't stop them from being gay. They're attracted to the same gender and they fall in love with people of the same gender regardless of whether they eventually act on it or not. Attraction and love are not the kind of things you control. It's like complexion.

The only time a human nature is considered delinquent is when it hurts another party. So even if you don't agree with my submission above, it still doesn't justify the decrimination. Like, why would you hurt someone for doing something you don't like? Every delinquency you mention up there hurts another party. Gay people don't hurt anyone. I honestly don't get why Africans are so obsessed with other people's sex life.

Every product you can think of today were all copied from another product, Toyota did not invent the motor vehicle it copied from an existing product, Microsoft was the first company to launch a tablet PC before Apple copied and introduced the iPad, Google copied the search engine concept from Yahoo, AOL. Pepsi copied Coca-Cola in making pepsi. The first PC was by Kenbak Corporation today we have HP,Apple, Dell, IBM all copied Kenbak, i can go on and on.

I'm replying this cause this is the only part of your response that seems remotely relevant to our chat.

We both know we are talking about copying brand names and how it's a terrible or good strategy. But here you are telling me about the the products itself. So it's either you don't even understand the conversation or you're deliberately changing the goal post. I said you should give me a list of organizations that have succeeded by copying the brand names of existing big brands, and you're listing organizations with similar products. Ok, you said the purpose is to satisfy needs, does that mean copying the names of existing brands helps the organizations satisfy needs? How?

In my first response, I gave you a detailed breakdown of why I disagreed with you. I was hoping, you'd counter my points or at least tell me why you think it's a great strategy, but you did not. In my second response, I asked you to list organizations that have succeeded this way, you did not. You just want to say to it's a great strategy without backing it up with details and facts/figures. Is that how you present business strategies in your board meetings? Lol

People are beginning to realize that it unnatural for the more than 7 billion people on earth to be born straight. That's not how nature works. There'll always be exceptions. Look around you and tell me one aspect of nature that has no exception? None because diversity is the beauty of nature. So let's be practical in thoughts and acknowledge the fact that same sex attraction is part of human nature. It has always existed and it'll always exist.

Well, not all businesses aspire to "level up" or become the market leader in thier vision and mission statements. For Some, the objective is to simply capture 0.6% of the market share and maintain that position.
If the feasibility study indicates that dissatisfied and disgruntled customers will purchase the copied product out of spite for the existing business and will help the new business achieve its projected 0.6%, why not?

Again, another theory. You did not give an answer my question. How many have sustained thier businesses this way? Apparently, this will keep going in circles, so I'll just leave you with this. The primary goal of a business is to maximize profit and stay in business. Copying an existing brand that has the same portfolio and operates in the same region is not a tested and trusted strategy to achieve any of these as you claimed in your first comment. It has failed far more than it has succeeded. Those who do it usually have a temporary surge when thier products are confused with the "original" after which they fade away. No serious business strategist who wants to stay in business for long would rely on this your "great idea". The only reason this Chinese company is trying it is because they're retailers that may not have in-house products. I don't know what they teach y'all in school, but one needs to have worked in branding to know the real life impact of certain business decisions.

Ciao !

Everything you posted is what anyone without a business training will say but it's a different ball game in the business world.
There are marketing strategies called market segmentation and market differentiation, look them up on Google

Sir, you did not address the point I raised. Neither segmentation nor differentiation suggests that copying an existing brand name is a good idea. When it comes to intuitive subjects like this, the ideal thing would be to look at the the market and draw conclusions from there. Can you sight a good number of case studies where this strategy made the newer organizations to actually level up with the competitor? I have an endless list of brands that did this and got labeled the 'fake' one even though thier products were as good as thier competitors'. Like I stated in my earlier response, this is a great idea only when there's no direct clash. Otherwise, a brand that copies its name from another is likely to have identity issues.

Some uninformed people will say the Chinese store is fake but in reality it's actually innovative.
This is one of the strategies used by businesses to get a share of the market.

I disagree. This strategy might work when there is no direct competition (different region, industry etc.). Otherwise, taking a name similar to an established brand is very likely to backfire. It gives the impression that they are a fake version of the original company. Consequently, consumers might find it hard to trust them, and they'd be right not to trust a company that couldn't come up with an original name.

Mass production requests and lack of control marred the image of Africa-bound Chinese products in the past. Due to cheap labour, people ordered low quality copies of known brands and sold them as the original and, as a result, made-in-China became synonymous with fake. Taking a name very similar to that of a big brand like Shoprite follows a similar pattern, and this might cast a shadow of doubt in their products even though they're just retailing company.

Such strategy simply makes you the imitator and like they say, an imitator can never be original. Search engines might even try to correct people searching for your company's name. Lol

Romance / Re: My Girlfriend Is Giving Me Attitude Because I Didn't Celebrate Valentine by etrange: 6:39pm On Feb 15
That is why people date before marriage; to find out if they're compatible. She likes to be appreciated on a special day maybe not necessarily because she wants a big gift or because she's eager to eat meat, but because she wanted the reassurance that you've got her in mind. On your side, you just don't have the money for that and it's not a big deal cause there are other ways you could show her love. You just don't understand why she's blowing it out of proportion.

You both don't have the same love language maybe you also don't understand each other's love language. If you understood her love language, the first thing you'd have done when you got home was to walk up to her and tell her you couldn't afford to go out this year, but you got some palm wine for you both to enjoy. If you had said this before she asked, it might have been enough to let her know that you were actually thinking about it. That could be all she needed. The other question is, what's the special thing she does for you every Val day? Does she gift you or do anything specific? If so, did she do that thing this year? Does that thing touch your heart or do you just accept it to make her happy? I'm asking all these to know if she understands your own love language cause it goes both ways. If she does something, and she did it this year, it might also explain why she wasn't happy you didn't do your part.

People are saying you should dump her, but believe me, none of these people would dump someone they love because of one disagreement. It's easy for us to say because we aren't emotionally involved, we don't know what she has done for you or what she means to you, and we don't care about how you both feel. Yes, if you guys are always arguing over things like this, then maybe you should just call it a quit and move on. But if this is a singular occurrence, then perhaps you both could talk about it, take it as an opportunity to know each other better and learn from it. After all, even the best couples fight sometimes. What you'll do is up to you. There's no way strangers on NL who don't know or care about you and your lady can give you a holistic advice. We only say what makes us feel good.

He said "I hope that soon they will be effectively used as methods of individual therapy." So maybe it'll be therapeutic after all. The next question would be, what type of cancer will it target and what's the efficacy?
