Celebrities / Re: I Sacrificed Myself To Ensure Bobrisky Arrest – Verydarkman Apologizes To Police by etrange: 3:26pm On Apr 10 |
This guy is just funny. He just takes advantage of every situation to promote himself. So he offered to be in police custody for days just so Bob, who did not do anything to him, to be arrested? And his fans are praising him? Lol..OK. 1 Like |
Travel / Re: Lady, Her Family Fly Airpeace From Gatwick London To Lagos With Expired Passport by etrange: 3:21pm On Apr 10 |
Chosimba: Yes, you could travel to your home country with an expired passport, but such trips require the corporation of airlines/travel companies. These companies are not subject to your country's policies. And there have been many cases where they did not allow passengers fly with them without a valid passport especially if the flight is not direct. To put it differently, even with the policy, it was still a hassle to travel with an expired passport. Most people were taking connecting flights. These flights first stop in thier home countries before going to Nigeria and in some cases, they have a policy that you can't come into thier country with an expired passport. KenyaAir would normally claim they are not aware of any policy. Even Delta that was the only company that offered direct flight to Nigeria from the US also gave people with expired passports issues. There are many complaints by Nigerians on reddit and X about this. So this is a step in the right direction. Yes, you could get an ETC, but I don't even know why you're bringing that up cause what is being celebrated here is the fact that she could come to Nigeria without the need to first renew her passport or apply for an ETC. That's the whole point of this trade. So you coming to say she could get an ETC is a bit off cause you might as well tell her to go and renew her passport. It takes about 13 days to get ETC and it costs $150. Don't you see that this is a far cheaper and more convenient way to go? |

What man? What's his name? A friend told her. She made a video. It's on NL front page as authentic news. Seriously? No link to a credible media outlet? Just the story of a random lady who said her friend told her and we're putting it on NL front page without adding 'allegedly'? Ok. 3 Likes |

Education / Re: This Is Why They Always Tell Us To Read Instructions Before Starting Exam by etrange: 2:20pm On Apr 08 |
bobkezel: Lol... but they don't want the candidates to answer. Here, I've got a slight variation of your suggestion. Normally, the instruction would be "read and answer all questions", but in this case, they don't want them to answer at all. So adding "... before answering" to the instruction would send the message that they're supposed to answer the questions. In that case, when they read number 10 which says they should not answer the questions, they might take it to be in conflict with the original instruction. If that happens, the examiners would be blamed for giving instructions that are arguably self-conflicting. Therefore, to make your suggestion less questionable, I'd modify it to be: "You should read all the questions before you start." I removed the word "answering" at the end cause of the reason above, and I chose to remove the word "first" simply cause it's already implied by the word "before". Hope you agree. |
Politics / Re: Bobrisky: Yorubas Have A Culture Of Spraying Naira - Reno Omokri by etrange: 1:45pm On Apr 08 |
We always use the world 'culture' to back up our arguments when there's no point left as if culture is something carved on stone. However, the truth is that culture is continously evolving to reflect the current state of things in the region, and any culture that refuses to evolved becomes toxic over time. When a particular trend exists for long, people begin to consider it 'cultural' and they forget that there was a time it wasn't there. The idea of spraying money only came into existence long after paper money was introduced. This goes to show that culture is subject to change. It was change that brought about this culture of spraying money, and its change that will take it away. Moreover, culture is also subject to the laws of the country, not the other way round. We must, therefore, know when to adjust. 2 Likes |

The way y'all like to infuse Nigeria into everything is laughable. Nigeria doesn't have the highest number of foreign students in the UK, but titles like always makes it about all us. Instead of just saying international students, you find a way to single out Nigeria just for sensationalism. 3 Likes |
Celebrities / Re: I Don’t Doubt That Liam Is My Grandson But I Want The DNA Done - Mohbad Dad (vid by etrange: 8:24pm On Apr 02 |
Goodnewsforlife: Ridiculous. She does not owe you anything; nothing at all. You're not in a position to ask a woman to prove her fidelity to her husband. Her husband didn't do that, what makes you think you can? Because you did a more-or-less fruitless protest for her dead husband, you think you've earned the right to make such demands? What kind of insulting/humiliating request is that? Do you people even think things through? Asking an independent individual you have no business with to show the world an evidence that she was not sleeping around while married is outrageous. Why would she do that for you? Go and ask your mum to prove the man you call dad is truly your father. Tell her it's a simple DNA. Then come back and tell us how the conversation went. Honestly, sometimes I wonder why some of you guys are so shallow on this app. When will you all stop behaving like ancient village people and stop treating widows and women in general like you have right over thier lives? Only God knows what you'd be doing to that lady if you were her late husband's brother. The dead man is the father. If she says she does not want to do any DNA, so be it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Not only did he accept that he didn't go through the budget properly, he also made it clear that he didn't see any reason to even talk about the budget. But the most interesting part is that he's clearly afraid to express himself in a democratic country. |
Family / Re: Man Hails Wife For Cooking For Him A Day After Returning From Child Birth by etrange: 4:40am On Apr 01 |
franugo: Yeah, but most people leave the hospital 24 hours after giving birth, so that distinction you tried to make may not count for much, to be honest. I'd like to believe she was just putting up a show for the camera cause I don't see any universe in which those other ladies you mentioned would comfortably sit down and let her do the cooking for all of them to eat even if the husband allowed it. It's like going to the hospital and eating the patient's food. Like you said, it's possible she wanted to do it, but courtesy demands that the people around asks her to rest instead. But like I said, they seem happy and that's all that matters. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Hhmm... She seems happy in the video though, but then again, even if she was willing to cook, I don't think it's fair to let her. Would she have done if he had provided alternatives or did she just do it because there wasn't any other option? Giving birth is not a child's play. Let's pity our ladies, please. 4 Likes |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Easter Sunday Declared Transgender Day In The U.S By President Biden (Photos) by etrange: 4:17am On Mar 31 |
Konjiboii: It doesn't really take much to trigger you people. All one has to do is share half information and y'all would be all over the place with your intolerance. Every 31th of March is Trans Day in the United States. This year's Easter coincidentally falls on the same date. What do you want Biden to do? Cancel Easter? Or do y'all expect him to cancel this year's Trans Day because Easter (which has a variable date) happens to fall on the same day? I hope this OP knows that giving people half information just for sensationalism is also sinful. In the US, people have equal rights regardless if religion, and Easter does not have higher priority than other celebrations, so there was basically nothing Biden could've done differently. You people complain about everything, yet you call Miyetti Allah crazy when they do same. At the end, you're not any different. You can't live and let live. 2 Likes |

Lol... y'all are funny on this thread. When you have sex with women, you say you're using them. You claim you're the master key and they're just hoes. Now, you want the person being used to still be concerned about the quality of utility you get from her. Foreign Affairs / Re: BREAKING: Russia Proposes Visa-free Travel For African Nations. by etrange: 9:04pm On Mar 26 |
Does this also mean they can come here without visa? What does that mean for Nigeria? It might be a good development, but let's evaluate our gains before jumping into bed with those who are suddenly picking interest in us. The same people jubilating here cause of possible personal gains will be the ones to insult the government if things go south afterwards. Asides from the desire to spite the West, one other reason some Nigerians romanticize Russia and Russians is because we've not explored the country to see thier true color just like we've explored the West. As humans, we believe that the grass is greener on that side. However, we must never forget that these guys are just as white as the rest of Europe and they are just as guilty. Like the US, they have gone into other countries to instigate war. Like European countries, they participated in slavery. Like China, they have exploited other countries. There's absolutely nothing that makes them a different brand of whites. They're only courting Africa now because they're looking for ways to undermine the influence of the West. Otherwise, ask yourselves why they just suddenly remembered Africans now. For sure, this move is more about Russia-West dichotomy than it is about Africa. However, if we can gain something from it, I don't see whe shouldn't explore it. 3 Likes |
