I wonder how those NL guys that were promoting Trump as if his presidency was the second coming of Jesus would defend all these things he’s doing. |
givedemwotowoto:Nope, you have no idea what really happened. The media only tells you what they need you to know in order to control your reaction. Ask yourself this, do you really think the Colombian president has the right to deny innocent citizens access to thier own country? The president redirected the flight to Honduras and then sent a presidential flight to pick them up from there. He said his people deserved a dignified and respectful return to their home country. They’re all in Colombia right now. Brazil, on the other hand, allowed the plane to land in their country and was shocked to see all the Brazilians onboard handcuffed like criminals. They walked out like terrorists in front of everyone including their loved ones. The passengers later narrated their ordeal while on the flight and it was sickening. Kicking people out of the country is one thing, treating them with such indignity one step too far. If you don’t have respect for the individuals, have some regards for the country itself. |
We believe the West destroyed Africa. Now, Russia and China are picking up from where they stopped, dividing Africa like birthday cake. |
Francophone countries have reasons to blame the West (France) for their state. However, Nigerians blaming the West for their current situation is just us shying away from facing the truth. We are largely responsible for where we are today, that’s the simple truth. The problem with BRICS is that most people don’t even know what their plans or policies are. Some are ignorantly comparing them with NATO (a military alliance) instead of G7 (a similar economic alliance). Other are talking about a BRICS currency they could buy instead of dollars not knowing that the proposed currency isn’t for the public. Some BRICS member countries aren’t even friendly with one another (eg China and India). What I see here is China and Russia looking for followers. They woo them with the promises of good times ahead and even presented Brazil, a less powerful country, as the leader just to sell the idea that it’s not all about power. At the end of the day, they’re just looking to create dependency on themselves and thereby expand their global influence and be in better position to supersede the US. Chinese are very practical/pragmatic and they always plan long term. Nigeria and many other countries joining BRICS are likely the necessary tools required to reach their goal. I’m not saying we cannot achieve anything from it, but we should be very cautious and observant so we don’t lose more than we gain. Most importantly, we should tackle our internal problems so we can be in a better position to optimize the benefits of joining such an economic bloc. |
galserv:I’ve tried. |
galserv:I see you’re crying out for enlightenment. Let me help. First of all, passports don’t determine ethnicity. It’s mostly used to determine nationality while travelling. I don’t have a Nigerian passport and I’ve not lived in Nigeria for some years now. Does that mean I’m no longer of a Nigerian ethnicity? No. Anyone can get any country’s passport if they certify the requirements for it, that does not automatically get rid of their ethnicity. Second, talking about nationality, having dual nationality doesn’t mean having one passport with two countries on it; bro this 2025, let us not be thinking like unexposed people. Dual nationality means having two citizenships, and you may or may not have the passports of both countries (it’s only compulsory when you’re travelling). You’re talking about having only one country’s name on one’s passport, meanwhile more 50% of the entire American population don’t even have passport at all. Does it make them non Americans? No. That’s because passport is the only prove of citizenship and it definitely doesn’t prove ethnicity. Yes, Kemi’s kids are automatically qualified for Nigerian citizenship and, therefore, passport. Even if her kids all marry white men and women, her grandkids are also qualified for Nigerian citizenship/passport. The only person not qualified is her husband, and that is because of the patriarchal nature of our laws. Please, know your laws before coming online to argue these things. Most importantly, stop mixing up nationality with ethnicity. |
galserv:I don’t know the individual you both are talking about it amazes me that in 2025, you still do not know that race/ethnicity/nationality are not solely decided by one parent. You do not know that a mixed person is equally from both sides of their parents? Father decides what? Father decides your race? Or you think someone would be a denied Nigerian passport because it’s their mother that is Nigerian? Please, let’s get educated on things like this so we don’t sound dumb when we chat. |
VDM is most likely just trying to climb the ladder of social status. Comments like this only have one goal; he’s trying to get Seyi’s attention with the hope of penetrating his circle and maybe be a part of his campaign team. Seyi would be wise to use him cause VDM knows how to deal with crowd. He throws things out to see his followers’ reaction, then adjusts and comes back with the real thing. In this case, he’s already testing to see how people would react to him campaigning for Tinubu’s son. It’s all about the money and the status. Everyone on his own. |
You guys have moved from “slay queen” to “Genz baddie”. You always have labels for ladies. You see a father and child bonding and you, who probably leaves the sitting room whenever your dad comes back from work, think this is something to call her a baddy for. Sorry! |
kessler53:Yet, it’s a man that created this thread out if his imagination. This thread is totally uncalled for. Any guy that created this is not different from the woman that asked this kind of questions. Why create a thread to compare wives and mothers? It’s as if the guys on the platform get bored when there’s nothing to bash women about. |
No need for a long epistle. Here: 1) If my wife asks me to choose between her and my mother, I’ll chose my mother. 2) If my mother asks me to chose between her and my wife, I’ll choose my wife. 3) Any one of them that thinks it’s okay to put me in that corner is not okay and should be the one to be lose. 4) OP, you creating this thread to compare wives and mothers, you’re also not okay at all. I don’t understand the kind of things that go up in you people’s head. Y’all just come up with funny things when there’s nothing left bash women about. |
jojothaiv:Even at that, there’s simply no level at which it’s okay for some random individuals in the street to decide what to do to a couple who mess up our family values. You’d only end up creating bigger issues while trying to solve the “low level” ones. Comprehensive solutioning is about knowing all the moving parts and how the action taken at any level affects the big picture. Yes, adultery is not good, but this is not the right reaction to it. This simply subjects the involved individuals to whatever some frustrated thugs come up with. This means there would no proper judgement and no scaled-out punishments for it based on severity. If you really want more drastic consequences for adultery, you can advocate for it to be criminalized so there would be a legal ground for the involved individuals to be charged and, of course, a well thought out punishment for it. But till then, the expression “sane society” should not even be associated with what’s happened here cause this is neither sane nor does it bring any form of sanity to society. |
jojothaiv:Can you give an example of this “sane society” where this would be considered okay? You guys throw the expression “sane society” around however it pleases you without actually making any effort to know how things work in the so-called sane societies. If this happened anywhere in the “first-world countries”, the people parading this could would be facing serious jail terms. There’s no law against adultery, so the only people committing a crime here are the paraders, not the paraded. Even if there was actually a law against adultery, the paraders would still be found guilty of taking the law into their own hands instead of reporting to the police. So next time you express your desire for a “sane society”, be sure to know what it entails. |
With the wars looming in the West, the increasing cost of living, etc., this isn’t far fetched. |
Negroid001:Medal of honour is not partisan politics, dude. |
press9jatv:How was the money moved? How did he get some of it back? Who is the suspect he said he had in custody? Which police station is working on the case? Where is the police report? Why is the bank not heavily involved in the process? VDM usually demands such details from people, why aren’t y’all demanding them from him? I don’t know what’s going on, but the whole thing seems shady. |
Things are definitely not going as planned for him. He will probably come out later to say he’s caught the thief and the money has been recovered. |
At the first sign of trouble, you’re already considering turning your back on her? lol… ndi relationship |
richmond500:lol… Richmond, do you really think there’s anything in your browser history that we’ve not see before? ![]() |
Well, same goes for all them men asking “what do they bring to the table?” |
Eating late is already very bad for your health |
The UK has had the first spot on this list for as long as I can remember. The other day, some guy was telling me how Nigeria doesn’t need the West anymore as our partnership with China has taken over. Some people obviously don’t know the difference between foreign investment and construction contracts. |
fuckJones:Statements like this is why other countries will always hate you guys. Nigerians don’t just know how to coexist with others. |
With France kicked out by some of their most strategic colonies in West Africa, it's not a surprise that they've got their eyes on Nigeria. A struggling economy could be an easy point of entry. Will Nigeria take advantage of this or just let the colonizers use her as s grip? Time will tell. |
The day you allow? So you think you're in a position to stop a woman from going to the gym and staying healthy just because she's dating you? I don't know how some of these men think. Since it's men they do it with, should woman also stop their men from working out? Nawa o. People be growing backwards |
I didn’t see any part where you asked this kid her dream career. I only saw your “career counsel for her”. You chose something you believe befitting of a female child and something you believe would bring you prestige. The intention might be good, but it’s all from a father/man’s perspective. Let’s start by asking what she’d enjoy doing as an adult so we don’t end up pushing her where she’d be struggling to stay afloat. |
techbro1:The VC is the executive head of the institution. He’s the one that runs the school. The Chancellor is just a titular position. He doesn’t work there and he doesn’t really have a say over what happens in the school. Most times, it’s a prominent figure in the state like a popular politician, a popular king, or even a popular actor or Pastor; basically anyone who sets a good example for others. It’s just a ceremonial role, nothing to do with the running of the institution. You probably know them for other reasons but just don’t know they act as the chancellors of some institutions. For example, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja, Ooni of Ife, is the Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka. Hope that helps. |
Those of us that left Nigeria and ran abroad, are you sure we took the right decision? ![]() |
She came second, right? |
I'm not super religious, but this I know; the way you feel about the sermon of a pastor is mainly a reflection of your preferred communication style as an individual and not an indicator of the pastor's spirituality or lack of it. Therefore, comparing the two men based on that alone might be fallacious. Nevertheless, not hearing/seeing the second in command of a religious institution despite being a member of the said institution for a long time might actually point towards lack of proper delegation structure. |
WriterNig:Can you point me to the news source? |
She is Lebanese!
