Romance / Re: Nigerian Man Posts Video Of Girlfriend Confessing To Cheating (video) by etrange: 7:58pm On Mar 09 |
See all of them on the front page shouting "Nigerian girls!" as if the guys are any different. Are these girls sleeping with each? Aren't you guys the ones doing it with them? How can you want chaste women but praise each other for sleeping with them? Where will the chaste ones then come from? How do you expect the ladies bear the burden of maintaining morality in the society alone while you go about sleeping around. Y'all are like a baby crying that he's got no cake just moment after eating the cake himself. No matter how much you insult women on this platform, nothing will change until y'all acknowledge the fact that it's a two-way thing. Yesterday, we read about a man that kicked out his wife and took in the house help and the guys on the front page were asking 'why did she bring in a maid', 'what did she do', etc., but once it is the other way round, you jump in to call out the gender. Even people who have never talked to a non Nigerian girl are here screaming "Nigerian girls!". Shallow minded people. |

All of shouting 'I no dey eat it', 'nothing special', etc. No one said it was special. If you don't eat it, that's OK. Other people do. It doesn't have to be special. The ones you eat aren't special too. People have different tastes/preference. 1 Like |

Trading crude oil in Naira is probably the only advantage of joining BRICS at this point. If the word used to describe its possibility is 'may', then it becomes worrisome because we might just end up boosting another country's economy while ours continues to deep. |

Yes, it was about Messi's name, but guys, this isn't a football thread. This old woman was nearly abducted by HAMAS. Her grand kids were taken and she might never see them again. Making this conversation about Messi vs Ronaldo is kinda insensitive. 2 Likes |

Family / Re: Nigerian Wife Kicks UK Husband Out From Home by etrange: 3:16pm On Mar 07 |
I read stories like this and I laugh. Only someone that doesn't know the law would believe a lady can just decide to send her husband packing in the UK. No woman has the right to kick you out of your home or keep your children away from you except she can prove you abused her. Men have the same right when abused by thier wives. The only reason these men leave the house when asked to do so is because they actually did something that would give the women the upper hand if the case gets to court. Otherwise, there's no circumstance under which one spouse would wake up and take it upon himself/herself to kick out the other and keep the kids. It doesn't work that way. There's no law in the UK or anywhere in the West that supports that. The two spouses have equal rights. The only reason it seems to Africans as though the women have more rights is because we're from a place where they don't have a much rights as the men. 1 Like 1 Share |

Family / Re: Has A Wife In Nigeria But Sleeping With Client As A Psychologist In Canada by etrange: 2:45pm On Mar 07 |
guobe: These are the exact words of the story "The Company told my colleagues friend to do like an undercover blind date..." And I'm telling you that no company would violate a woman's privacy like this in Canada. Besides, to practice psychology in Canada, like other health care professionals, psychologists must be licensed. Licensure to practice is granted by regulatory bodies in each Canadian jurisdiction. You don't get licensed after an 8 months course. The best you can do with that is to work as a care giver or a social worker. What is the name of the company? What is the name of the city/province where this happened? What is the name of the school where he did the course? What is the academic program called? The devil is in the details. 1 Like |

guobe: The story said the organization sent him to date her undercover and I'm telling you it's not realistic at all let alone in Canada. Bringing up Quora stories of erring professionals doesn't change anything. We've read about doctors who did punishable things like touching their patients inappropriately. That doesn't mean a well established hospital would send one of thier doctors to do that. So I don't see how this image adds any value to the conversation. |
Family / Re: Has A Wife In Nigeria But Sleeping With Client As A Psychologist In Canada by etrange: 2:13pm On Mar 07 |
What is the name of the organization? Where in Canada did this happen? I believe this is one of those interesting things that never happened. Canada is over-regulated to a point that is almost sickening. No organization would send a man to date thier client to get more information. It's a criminal act even if it's intended to help her. No type of personal relationship whatsoever is allowed between a shrink and his patient. Besides, you can't practice with an 8 months course. Such a program may give you some advantage when looking for a job as a care giver or a social worker, but no organization would send you into the field as a psychologist after an 8 month course. 1 Like |
Travel / Re: A Lone Nigerian Stopped A Police Vehicle While He Was Controlling Traffic. by etrange: 3:23am On Mar 07 |
Eniolohunda: I get what you're saying. It's called the move-over law in Ontario (a nickname for the Section 159 (2,3) of the Highway Traffic Act), and it states which states that you must make way for emergency vehicles if the siren or flashlight is on. However, sometimes, it's not possible for the other vehicle to make make way. I've seen a police car go against a one way street in Bronx, New York during a chase. The road was clear, and they had thier siren on. They do that if they judge that it's necessary to do so in order to discharge thier duty without putting other people lives at risk. This applies to all emergency vehicles including ambulances and firetrucks (and tow vehicles in Canada since 2015). |

Stevenbright: So it her fault for bringing a maid because the man is a dog that doesn't have control over his actions, right? You see how you guys always focus on what the women could do better whenever a man cheats. If it was a lady that did something like this, this thread would have been all about how women cannot be trusted, how they are olosho or how they'd do anything for money. But when a man cheats, the question becomes what did the woman do, why get a house help for what you can do yourself, is she nagging wife or does she dress poorly, has she gotten fatter, etc. It's always the women that need to change as if we men don't have the brain to different between what is wrong and what is right. See how most people on this thread are pointing out how women should be working or how she shouldn't have gotten a maid or how she must have done something wrong to that's missing in the story, etc. Treating men's promiscuity with kid gloves while baring our fangs when a lady does as little as dressing a certain way is not being manly. It's boyish 1 Like 2 Shares |

Health / Re: I Was Diagnosed With A Case Of Very Low Testosterone by etrange: 9:39pm On Mar 06 |
BRATISLAVA: jikins: Y'all are right, the normal testosterone range is extremely wide that what is considered low in one individual might be okay for another. Doctors wouldn't recommend drugs just because one's testosterone level is out of range except the patient has symptoms. I doubt it's a tumor though cause solid tumors normally come with pains when they press against body organs. They also increase B12 and leave some markers that show up in a blood test (and I'm assuming the lab person knows all this). Nevertheless, I agree with you that he should see a doctor who puts other factors into consideration. I just assumed the lab guy was part of his larger Healthcare team since lab scientists don't usually do tests unless there's a requisition from a doctor. But if he's doing the prescription himself, then he's obviously working alone, and that's risky. I'd rather take a prescription from a pharmacist than from a lab scientist. 2 Likes |
Travel / Re: A Lone Nigerian Stopped A Police Vehicle While He Was Controlling Traffic. by etrange: 9:30pm On Mar 06 |
Eniolohunda:Yeah, but taking one way is a very extreme version of having the right of way cause life is involved. Police agents on duty can only take one-way in extenuating circumstances. Even at that, they must prioritize public safety. If taking one-way is the only way to reach their target but also puts other people's lives at risk, the go-to decision would be to let the target escape. Again, they'd usually have thier siren on in such cases. |
Health / Re: I Was Diagnosed With A Case Of Very Low Testosterone by etrange: 3:54pm On Mar 06 |
BRATISLAVA: Yeah, bro. I'm saying he should follow his instructions and ignore the drugs listed above by Nairalanders. Nairalanders may have good intentions, but many of us aren't doctors and even the really knowledgeable ones may not know his current level or other conditions the OP might have or what his life goals are (for example, a large percentage of testosterone drugs inhibit sperm production and should be avoided if the patients intends to have kids). Therefore, only an expert who has seen his blood work and who had had a one-on-one with him is in a position to prescribe drugs. Hope he gets better. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Nigeria Needs Restructuring With Proper Foundation — Tinubu by etrange: 3:46pm On Mar 05 |
OK... Everyone has been throwing the word "restructuring" around, but I'm sure some people have different ideas of what it really means for Nigeria. As they say, the devil is in the details. The word itself simply means "to organize differently", and as such, a whole lot of things could qualify as restructuring. So instead of just saying 'restructuring,', I think we should be talking about what the new structure should be like. Otherwise, we might find ourselves in a what-we-ordered-vs-what-got situation. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Afonja2000: Let her go with her lawyer, guilty or not. If she damaged the property cause she was trying to regain access to her items, her lawyer should be able get her out. The husband might have been the one in the wrong, but it's still a good thing he took the case to the police instead of resorting to further violence. However, you're right to think he might have bought the police over. So going with her lawyer is the ideal thing to do. Marital laws in Nigeria are a joke. |

He probably believes an altercation with Bob would bring him up the social ladder or he just wants thier names to be mentioned alongside each other. 4 Likes |
Politics / Re: Tolu Ogunlesi Replies Peter Obi On Ukraine's Grains by etrange: 7:20am On Mar 05 |
Perspectives. He did not really say anything that counters what the Peter guy said which is that even during war times, Ukraine still produces more grains than Nigeria. However, he gave important details on how the aid was channeled through the UN. In other words, Ukraine didn't directly come to Nigeria's aid. Instead, they donated to the UN humanitarian aid program. Ukraine is a large producer of grains, and though they're currently at war, they wouldn't give out thier grains if they didn't have enough for thier people. So yes, we took grains produced by a war torn Ukraine and channeled through the UN. Peter viewed it as an indication of the extremely wide gap between the grain production output of both countries such that even while at war, one is still far ahead of the other. Told viewed it from the perspective of "so should we have rejected UN humanitarian aid on the basis of the fact that Nigeria should've been better? Did you reject the aid offered by UN during your tenure?" As a neutral person, one can clearly see that both are unto something. Yes, the Ukraine might have the favorable conditions to produce more grains than most countries, and they have a lot of grain reserves. But then again, if we were where we're supposed to be today, the war-induced reduced output from Ukraine wouldn't have been so significantly higher than our output. Otherwise, the person you stand by depends on whether you're fan of the current government or not, and that is the nature of politics. Politicians are inclined to interpret things in a way that either protects their preferred party or highlight the incompetence of the opposition. 1 Like |
