Lagos - Etisalat Nigeria, the mobile network operator, has extended its student empowerment initiative to Lagos. Following the success of the programme in Ebonyi State University recently, it is set to climax at the University of Lagos on Thursday next week. Head, Youth Segment at Etisalat, Elvis Daniel, noted that the youth empowerment programme, which had visited several tertiary institutions nationwide, was aimed at motivating Nigerian youths to keep pursuing their dreams. “Etisalat Cliqfest is a festival of sports, entertainment and education designed to help Nigerian tertiary institutions produce balanced, confident students who are well equipped for the challenges of a rapidly evolving world,” Daniel said. Laptops, mobile phones, and many other amazing prizes were won by students of the university during Cliqfest’s second billing. The excitement however peaked when 400 level Food Science and Technology student, Edokobi Obiamaka, won the grand prize of a brand new car during the raffle draw. Overwhelmed by her good fortune, Edokobi thanked Etisalat for bringing Cliqfest to Ebonyi State University for the second time. “The first event was great, but I did not win, so I had been praying to win this car ever since I heard that Cliqfest would be back in our school. I am so happy that my dream came true today,” she declared. Musical performances from popular Nigerian Hip-Hop artistes- Sekem Master, Mc Galaxy and Terry G- spiced up the two-day programme at Ebonyi State University. http://m.news24.com/nigeria/National/News/Lagos-university-students-to-benefit-from-empowerment-project-20141010 |
