Sis from Wat u wrote here,no one degraded u,rather u degraded urself....

As a woman if u are confident abt Wat ur abt to do or Wat u r doing, Ppl view to dwn grade u shuld Nt matter....

To me I still feel women are given equal privileges..

I think we women need to send up n challenge the men and that's Wat we are no doing..from the look of things women want soft, easy n smooth ground for them to pass tru without obstacle from men or any other...

In politics women are given very soft entrance.. in most cases forms are free..

We are not really challenging the men, rather the men give us slot to occupy.. ministers and other appointing position.... Jst to mke it look Lik women are up n doing....

You talk of our past female leader..Dat was den u are now present generation... so u shuld remember dem n fight on..

U talk of den,Dat girl child were not gvn privileges to go to school now they are..meaning they shuld beat their chase to do mre Dan men....

Women has all this empowerment, forum, women association, all sort of women groups...Bt to Wat effect are they...

During PDP primaries.. Dat was during Gej...the only female we had as contesting for president... was found sleeping in PDP primaries... it shws how uncrious we women are...

To my greatest surprise she actually did Dat so Dat culd b relevant n appointed into position by men...which she succeeded.....

To b sincere wit u..men is not our prblm Bt we are our prblm..

Also looking at a country Lik Nigeria, politics for xampl a woman cnt stnd such heat...eg amechi and wike...... how many women can kill...

D only female we had as speak of Rep,was gun dwn by men....

To b Frank we Jst cnt be Lik men,it is Jst impossible....

Women are knwn for loving n tender heart.....

In as much as I under stand the angle ur aiming...we shuld Jst agree to the fact..men are Jst on top everything....

Okk look @ marriage... the men is recognize.. Infact they do everything
They take u to their house..
U change ur name to deir own..
Children answer their name..
Some places without husband's letter ur Nt given permission
Our cloths food...infact everything is men..

The truth is bitter Bt we need to sometimes..gv men d applause...

Bt if women can wake up...then it will b better...

There is no newest ranting over equality bill..ofcourse is of no use here...rather let women wake up to xpectation...with or without d bill it will not improve anything. .. the ones we Hv we cnt Evn write anything good abt it...

I think d Bible will Neva lie...we were to assist the men...and that's d simple truth
Bible Neva lies
Kiss all errors

Please, if you intend to quote me again, don't make assumptions about what you think you know about me. I have settled my discussions with my initial quoter. Please refrain from saying that I have degraded myself, you do know how much I have built for myself and things I have going for myself. Have a pleasant day.

Female circumcision is something that has always come with traditional specifications. There weren't any complaints about it (as it has proven to have benefits) till foreigners brought their own traditions to be triaged over ours.

Hope you catch the satire.

Name 1 internationally recognised medical association that okays MaleGenitalMutilation on the basis of medicine. Name 1.
Even the German govt tags it IMMORAL AND UNETHICAL.
Just so you know, 70% of males in the world at the moment are intact, that is, they have their foreskins. What medical complications have that resulted to? Nothing!

By the way, the Canadian PM is sexist. He allowed women to have seats in his government based on their genders only. The women were placed based on Affirmative Action and not competition. He instituted a double standard were the females competed against themselves for a price of being 50% of the lawmakers.

For it to be fair the females would have competed against the men. If they get 2% or 99% of the seats, so be it. After all that's equal opportunity right? After all, that's how you became the SP right? - You got that seat based on your hard work and not based on someone saying "For this set, a female must be the SP and a male must vice her", right? Right?

To be honest, I've been in the dark concerning this issue. You see, for the very fact that you voice out your concerns, doesn't make you cynical or evil, does it??

Do you know that men have limitations placed on them by society too?

Do you know how many men didn't even qualify for the primaries to begin with?

Do you know that woman didn't pay for the ticket? She got it free of charge due to her gender?

Did you expect the delegates to vote for her due to her gender?

You are not very bright anyway. Women want free things. They want to be promised a short and comfortable route to "success" while riding on the backs of men.

Sorry female, to get the nomination in politics or life, you'll have to fight for it like the men do. Society or men don't owe you anything. YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL. YOU ARE A NORMAL ABLE BODIED HUMAN SO THESAME RULE APPLIES TO YOU.

I knew you'd avoid the question I asked about Male Genital Mutilation.

smiley

By male genital mutilation, if you mean circumcision, it's something that has always come with religious specifications. I don't hear any complaints about the issue, as it has proven to have health benefits too. Sorry I am not a male, but if you meant something else, I'm also sorry I don't know much about the issue.

If what you speak of is an obvious problem, of course it should be tackled. Whatever hinders human progress or causes risks in any way, ought to be tackled. I actually admire that you don't see anything missing and you accept the ability of a woman to go for the same things in life as men.

I am not being a cry baby asking anyone to let me get anything easy. I don't know about the females you have around you or that you know. I was senior prefect in a mixed school because my school didn't let the mysteriously established rule of man at the top first, and woman underneath affect their judgement. It happened because I was a qualified candidate, and I had a male assistant which probably wouldn't sit well with many.

Unless we speak of marriage, I don't take it light with anyone who tries to cheat me out of same chances to do things because it is believed that I should come second place. Rather than attack me, change people's orientations so that things happen differently. I actually blame the women who misbehave these days, the ones that are regressing on the efforts that many women of the past have made. I shame and I don't tolerate the little rubbishy a lot of females do today. So, I am never biased in my assertions. Don't get me started on how things have been from times past for men. Men weren't the ones who weren't registered under the law, or even allowed to attend the university or get involved with science. Definitely, everyone as human beings face many difficulties, but I am not speaking in that context. I'm not going to spell out anything for you, if you haven't noticed these things, you aren't going to hear them from me.

I don't understand what you mean by females getting free tickets and all, you really have been in contact with the wrong sets of people. It's funny that any guy would consider me a threat just because I understand purpose, and I am a woman of purpose. I will not begin to mention occasions where I have been degraded because those are personal, but I will say that before you can ask a woman to just get what she desires as the men do, you have to atleast have a fertile soil to grow a seed, yes?

Of course, women can only help themselves by themselves. It cannot be the men who would make way for women, but all we ask for is an understanding society. As I said, I remain grateful to the people who fought for the privileges that I enjoy today. You can call me names all you want. You should borrow a page from Canada's prime minister. I'm not very bright you say, I'll let my 4/4 CGPA speak for me.

Hard to admit I'm ignorant, but to be honest I would appreciate it if you could outline or explain what opportunities in politics or empowerment women are being denied in Nigeria, or better yet,as a Nigerian woman what oppportunities would you say you have been denied that your male peers have been handed by virtue of their gender Thanks

For crying out loud, my comment was free of any reference to the constitution. Haba. I speak of the little things that are neglected by society, which many on this thread constantly feign ignorance to.

I know most of yall can't read so I'll ask the question again just that this time, I'll dumb it down.

WHAT DOES A WOMAN IN NIGERIA TODAY ASPIRE TO THAT THE CONSTITUTION PROHIBITS HER FROM ACHIEVING?

And you are unapologetically still being slightly ridiculous, for deciding to just jump on my throat and let sentiments lead you. I never mentioned the constitution anywhere in my initial comment. My concerns more predominantly accrue from the limitations by and from societal settings. And more so, that the constitution makes provisions for certain things, doesn't mean that they are being followed. Like I mentioned, if you were paying attention at all, in politics for instance, the statistics will speak for itself. I remember once in the PDP primaries that saw Jonathan as candidate for the party, the only female contender there had just a single vote, and you know what the other people did? They bantered loudly.

As I said, I don't talk just for talk. I'm actually grateful that my predecessors fought for the right things. I am a humanitarian, as I said, my dreams are bigger than even Nigeria alone. Sometimes, it's not enough to just meet people online who you barely know their story or motivation, and make unruly assumptions or assertions. Have a great day, nonetheless. I think I'm done.

You just took several minutes to search your brain to find what you aspire to that the constitution bans you from, but you came up empty.

You are a typical feminist. You jump on a band wagon without knowing why.

Truth is, women don't want equality because they already have it. What they want is female supremacy and free stuff (I.e. Affirmative actions of all kinds etc).

I came up empty. The nerves you have to feel so so powerful from behind a phone screen. If you care to know, I just finished playing for my school's national team in a nation's cup tournament and the match just ended. You see, many of us actually have a life. If I had the time to engage in critical thinking with you, I doubt you'd stand the chance to be sincere.

My comment was on a general note. Women have come a long way to be where we are today, you know? Did you know at one point in history, a woman wasn't even a legal entity? Did you know she had no rights to receive salary or even sue for her rights in court? Nor was she allowed a chance in science because she was termed to be of inferior specie and of a dead brain? So, when I speak, I don't open my mouth to ignorantly spew trash.

It's not so much about the laws in place than it is with society itself. Next time you want to pretend that this isn't a problem in Nigeria, or Africa as a whole, do so with a little more insight.

Thank you for the insults. Someday, you'll have daughters, if you don't already do. At that time, we can have this discussion again. But it doesn't still hide the fact that women, not only in Nigeria, face many challenges just for the reason of their gender. Next time, be careful to not label people you barely know. I can barely fathom what you mean by "typical feminist" here. Am I going to stand up for any injustice in the system? Yes, I will. Would I call my fellow female to order when she does wrong? Yes, most definitely. Call me whatever you may, my father raised me to be the best for myself, and the best alone. The dreams I have is greater than any woman or man.

I hope you have a lovely day.

As a woman, what aren't you allowed to do?

I'm sure you know the answers to your question. Take a few minutes off to reflect.
Celebrities / Re: Rita Dominic Joins Gender Equality Bill Protest - Photos by Eureka123(f): 3:04pm On Mar 24, 2016
The host of ignorant folks here. Women are only asking for equal opportunities as members of the human race as men, be it in politics or resources for empowerment, and not to overthrow anybody. I have every reasons to be grateful for the women who stood for their rights way back since the 17th and 18th century. They are the reasons that I enjoy the privileges that I do today, because I'm human too. If you still don't understand this, kindly go back to school.

like someone once said " our ruleless and rootless society is in danger of becoming a ruthless society or let me say it's already a ruthless society. I don't know why we all don't want to become a society led by a renewal of moral and ethical conscience in our life.
it is up to us as an individual and their families to develop a strong private conscience to guide them, which I think the Op just did.

Thank you for this input!

It's funny how much many humans base their reactions on other people's actions first. So, it's an offense for the OP to do what he perceives as right even just for his own sake?? It was okay for him to go down to the worst despicable level if his girlfriend was cheating on him? Or that he was a fool to let go of such an opportunity if he wasn't sure of his girl friend's loyalty?? How about him not going ahead because of the self respect he has for himself and for values, girl friend aside??

What's really wrong with our society's morals today? What has really gone wrong? I wonder the kind of parents a lot of you would make.

Religion / Re: Can Christians Really Be Friends And Connect With Those Of Other Faiths? by Eureka123(f): 10:18am On Feb 21, 2016
I don't face this dilemma, during my interactions with friends from other faith. As much as we are all from different religious diversity, I'd like to consider them first as fellow humans. Besides, any religion to me is crap, if it doesn't provide for you to at least show love to all and sundry, irrespective of differences.

One thing you must notice about all religion, they commonly promote "LOVE". One way such friendships can be long lasting, is when you are able to keep an open mind. I have Muslim friends who celebrate Christian programs and vice versa.

This is why the issue of tribalism saddens me all the time, due to the ignorance of many individuals.

So because you are still within the shores of Nigeria, other individuals should automatically do the same??

Your government depends on foreign help to process the crude oil they have. Why don't we equally send these white people in Nigeria back home and depend solely on our efforts to process our own oil?? Better yet, let us have your brother come home too.

If the government wants to stop Nigerian students from going abroad to study, they should scrap JAMB and create better admission opportunities and processes here, why cause JAMB is more of a business than an admission body,if they want the ones overseas to come back and school here in Nigeria, then they should order Universities to startup functional transfer programs so the ones overseas can easily continue from whatever level they stopped over there.

Saying they should stop wasting there time crying and come back to Nigeria just like that is not fair, especially to the average families who are doing there best to train there ward abroad so he or she studies the discipline he wants probably because here in Nigeria they either deny your admission or change your course. So let's be open minded before we start abusing them.

They should all withdraw there lads from all those oversea schools coz they are using those kids studies oversea to delapiidate the little foreign reserve we have tht would have being used @ forex for importation of important goods into the country,,,
only students going to study professional courses & those going for research with guarantee tht they will return to practise should only be given preference...
why should a student be going abroad to study political sc.,sociology, etc with our foreign reserve s going down the drain.,,abeg let them withdraw all of them & send to schools in Nigeria,,afterall, there are still gud private universities here if u feel u dont like govt. Owned schools..

I'm sorry, but this is arrant nonsense. Are you the only country who has citizens studying abroad? Why should it be an option for all of us to return back home after the time and efforts invested? Have you any idea that so many Nigerians who go out to 'hustle' sometimes go out of the country with the excuse to study? Blame the silly government this nation Nigeria has had since time immemorial for the pitiable standard of education we have. Don't heap unnecessary blames on people who have been opportune somehow to want the best for themselves. Imagine an individual who is incredibly intelligent, having to waste 3-4 years of his/her life waiting to be admitted, and not given the proper accolade with regards to certificates when it comes to the private schools.
