obailala: There's hardly anything the government can do about these guys. These guys on the street are simply protesting over Buhari winning the presidency; forget anything else they tell you, they are simply very pissed that an Hausa man displaced GEJ from Aso Rock and they believe the best they can do is to destabilise the country to make life difficult for Buhari and APC (they believe the APC used bokoharam to make Nigeria ungovernable for GEJ and they believe they are retaliating for GEJ). The only thing that can stop these protests is if Buhari steps down (which we all know isn't going to happen).
I only just pity what becomes of the economy of the south east and reasonable Igbos (like myself) who dont support this foolishness. It's just a pity. Other tribes who are in the minority would go and commit suicide, if it is like this! Imagine someone posting a picture of his new born baby and putting a #proudbiafran caption on the pic?? Why won't that child grow up with the mindset of being marginalized and inferior??! The change that should have taken place is far-fetched because so many problems keep getting carried over! And the name "Biafra" itself is even so annoying! Dem no see better name choose?? |

safarigirl: do you know how many people died to get Obama where he is? If you're too weak to fight for your rights, people will fight for you and your children will reap the fruits. If people like MLK, Malcom X and Run DMC had sat back doing nothing, there would be no Obama because black people would not be equal to whites. How old is South Africa's democracy post apartheid? Look at where they are and cover your head in shame. Nigeria is a disgrace to the black race You see what the problem is? Do you see your level of thinking? What part of the world hasn't seen it's foolishness? Life has messed everybody up, one way or the other; guess what? Life isn't fair at all. Fight for your rights the right way. 'Biafra' is not ready to be. The east is too wretched and in poor state to be a nation of its own now. I laugh at these people. If only you could have the visions I have, else we Igbos will kill ourselves before the Biafra even stands. May God be with all of you. Focus this energy on making the tribe prestigious and great, and see other things follow suite. This 'effort' is nauseating. |

AwiLand: Obama a can wait for 200 yrs because he is a black slaves, slave to the whites, America is a white man country, IGBOs are the owners of Nigeria just like a yoruba man and hausa man can lay claim to theei zones, we are no slaves zombie....your analogy is idiotic and i see yoruba blood in you rather than Igbo blood.... If you are Igbo as you claim then ask your mum who your father is, and i know its not that innocent Igbo man. Go ahead and show these people how wonderful you are, because I can see it for myself. Imagine more people like you forming a nation, a pitiable nation. Listen well to me, one day, quote me on this comment, I will be president of this great nation, Nigeria, which you so condemn. You want to fight for your rights? Level the battle ground, reinforce yourself intellectually and you will get that respect you so desire. And for your information, none of your mothers in this world and in your many next can amount to half of what my mother is. |

It is true there is never a smoke without fire, and that the government should address the reasons for the demonstrations, but these people should stop shaming the igbo people.
I mean, civilian rule in Nigeria is barely 16 years old, how old is Nigeria? Are they considering long term goals at all? Do they not even stop to envision Nigeria at 200 years old and counting, like America?
It's embarrassing. I'm not saying their actions aren't for a cause, but rather than the government to ignore it and just term these guys "troublemakers", why not reach a consensus and try to better relations??
It's annoying that a bunch of crazy individuals are standing, in deciding my fate as an Igbo person, when I want no part of the craze. The US only just got its first black president in the 21st century, since the 18th century of its inception!
Can we not be patient and look at long term goals? Invest those efforts into making the tribe better and respected! Believe me, Nigeria will vote an Igbo person into office if they saw an individual credible enough! Good market sells itself! |

She claimed she couldnt speak out because the guys father was powerful and she waited for him to die. This is pure balderdash. Being in the US, she could have used her twitter handle to announce the misdeed when the father was alive without any disastrous consequences to her. If they could harm her then, why cant they still harm her now. That girl is mentally unstable. Most people here rush to make statements like fools without thinking.
