I stormed out of the house before he could say another word. I boarded a taxi back home. I couldn’t place a finger on why he would hide the fact that he had a daughter from me. I accepted his son and we were going on pretty well together. She was the exact girl I saw with Jathniel at the supermarket when he told me she was his best friend. I called Jason but he wasn’t picking up. I called Jathniel too.
“Our lady.” He hailed as he picked the call.
“Oga,how are you?”
“I’m fine ma’am. You?”
“Same here. How’s your bestie na?”
“Oh,we’ve upgraded already.”
“Wow! You didn’t care to tell me,na wa for you o.”
“Sorry ma. We just changed levels yesterday.”
“Congrats dear. Is she with you?”
“Yeah sure”
“Let me talk with her then.”
He gave the phone to her and we talked for few minutes. She seemed really nice. Her father would tell her about me when he deemed fit,if at all I would still go back to him. For the time being, I would build a solid relationship with her behind his back.

“I need to drop by the office for a while dear,” I told Mille as I drove.
“You promised not to work today.”She pouted.
“I’m not working sweet. I just need to sign a few documents,that’s all.”
“So signing documents is not work abi? It’s play in your village.”
I laughed.”I won’t take long honestly. It’s an opportunity to show my staff that I’m not gay. When they see me with you, my story will surely change.”
“I’m not going in with you.”
“And why is that?”
“Firstly,I’m dressed too casual. Secondly,I’d prefer we don’t flaunt this relationship too much,we don’t know what tomorrow holds for us.”
“Firstly Mille,I’m dressed casual too. As for your second reason,it’s just my company,it’s not social media. So,I don’t see it as flaunting okay?”
“Alright then.”
“Good. We’re almost there.”
My phone rang. “Hello mum.”
“Son,where are you?”
“Out. Any problem?”
“Not really. Are you busy?”
“I’m with Mille so yes,I’m busy.”
“I even forgot. When you guys are through,come home,we need to discuss before I travel tomorrow.”
“Travel to where all of a sudden?”
“You’ll know when you come home. Say hi to Mille for me.”
“Damn it.”I muttered when she disconnected the call.
“What is it Niel?”
“Mum wants to seeme when we’re done. I’m sure that human they call my twin has done something silly again.”
She laughed.”Is that why you’re swelling like bread that fell inside water? Think positive jare.”
“You’re right ut it’s difficult doing that with the kind of brother I have.” I parked my car at the spot reserved for me.”
“Be my guest Miss Mille.” I said as I turned around to open her door.
Just like I imagined,everyone was staring at me,from the security guys to every staff in the building. I responded to their greetings. The greetings were always so many and they could be annoying sometimes. Mille clung to my hand like a second skin. We met my secretary before entering my office.
“Good afternoon sir.”
“Hello Sharon,how are you?”
“I’m fine sir. You brought a guest,a female one for that matter.”
“Yes oh. I’m tired of hearing whispers. Meet my angel,Mille. Mille,this is Sharon,my secretary.”
“Welcome Mille.” Sharon extended her hand for a handshake.
“Thanks.”
“Does this your baby bump grow every second? It’s becoming very obvious.” I joked and she laughed.
“I’m just as surprised as you are sir.”
“Okay oh. Please bring those documents immediately so that I can sign them and leave fast.”
“Okay sir.”
I took Mille into my office.
“Your office is quite cool..” She finally let go of my hand as she walked the length and breadth of my office before settling comfortably on my swivel chair.
“Thank you ma. I want to get it redecorated this year”
“Then,it will become a mini paradise.”
Sharon knocked and I opened up for her.
“Madam has made herself comfortable.” She remarked as soon as she noticed Mille on my seat.
“See me see wahala Sharon. How’s your hubby?” I asked as I quickly went through the papers and signed them.
“He’s fine.”
“Alright.” I handed over the documents to her. “I trust you know what to do.”
“Yes sir.”
“Alright, I’ll be leaving now with my madam.”
“Bye. Take care of her for me.”
“Go and finish taking care of your husband jor.”
We all laughed and stepped out of the office. My ears were itching to hear what Mum had to say so I hurriedly dropped Jamille at her house before heading back home. I met Mum,Gloria and Elliot seated in the living room.
“This has got to be serious.” I thought.
“Sorry for keeping you guys waiting.”
“Welcome son. I wanted you to be her because I want to make a wonderful and important announcement.”
“We’re listening.” I shifted uncomfortably on my seat.
“Elliot is getting married.”
“Congratulations bro.” Gloria squealed and hugged him,forcing me to congratulate him too.
“The court wedding is in two weeks and the church wedding will be a week after the court wedding.” Mum completed.
I burst out laughing causing the whole family to stare at me.
“Are my ears deceiving me? You mean you just came back yesterday and you want to force a wedding down oour throats?”
“Jathniel” Mum called.
“What mum? And you welcomed the idea with open arms. It took you some time to truly believe that I had good intentions for Mille yet you allow Elliot get married in two weeks?”
“Your case is different Jathniel.”
“Yes dear twin. Your case and mine are entirely different. Nobody here trusts you after your first wedding.”
