Present Cappo, God has been faithful, so far so good, 36+weeks. Cappo as much as am ready to welcome this baby, the fear of breastfeeding and the fact that hubby and my 2+ toddler will be doing Omugo for me is stressing me out. LO didn't latch well the 1st fews weeks and my nipples were sore and very painful. Anyone experience this, pls tell me the 2nd time wasn't painful. I have been cleaning and making sure everything is ready that hubby thinks am getting over agitated. Had some freezer meals made, all lo's cloths washed but hospital bag not packed. Pls Mamas, advice me how to survive with a toddler and C-section(we might be going this route).
Congrats to all December Mama's, wishing my teamie easy and fast delivery. |

AlphaHandMaiden: If her growth chart is doing good. I dont think there is any need to worry.
Her system will continually adjust and change quite frequently over time. As her sysytem gets better at absorbing the nutrients from BM her pooing will reduce.
The first time she doesnt poo for a whole day, you will start wondering why, and if she is ok.... Dr. Said her chart is good so far, was 7.5ibs at birth, lost 9% by 3days old, now 10.9ibs at 2months. I have been looking forward to that day o; I guess I will call for a party o, since I see it as a mile stone o. Thanks for being there always, blessings |

Good day great mamas, please put me right, I have heard here that EBF lo can go days without poo. Even lo's doctor told me about it during her 1month appointment, but lo still poo consistently after feeding, i was so occupied with her immunization during 2months appointment that I forgot to ask dr. She is 9 weeks, on Ebf, growth chart is great. Should I be worried with every feeding poo? Is it necessary calling dr.? Please help put FTM mind at ease. Thanks |

Onegai: You're gonna be just fine. It's all part of what you will use to shout at her the day she tells you she doesn't want to study Engineering or Medicine but be a Musician don't feel weird or bad if anyone tells you to put her down, okay? And eventually, when you do get tired of carrying her, don't feel guilty about it. I promise you that she knows you love her, very much. Go give her the pacifier or you can afford it, try a bouncy chair. Maybe borrow a chair from a mama close to you and see if she likes it before splurging on your own. , lolx at study mechanical and medicine., thanks as always just got the pacifier, currently using it placed on her swing, ishe is gradually falling asleep as I write, hope to testify soon |
Health › Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by evamum: 12:00am On Sep 25, 2016 |
helovesme: Do you have a baby bouncer? If not, why not get one?
All you have to do is place your baby on the bouncer and rock her. Depending on the type of bouncer you buy, you can either rock her manually or set the bouncer to swing automatically. Some bouncers also come with the lullaby option.
The bouncer saves you or anyone carrying your baby all the time and it also helps your baby to be independent. As soon as she falls asleep on the bouncer, you can transfer her to her cot. You can also place your baby safely strapped on the bouncer while you carry on with your house chores, etc without having to worry about her rolling over, etc.
I used the bouncer till my son was about 6 months old and it was super helpful. Thanks mama, I have the fisher price cradle and swing, been putting her on it but she never fall asleep on it. In fact she doesn't stay upto 5 minute even with the swing, music and light on it. How early did you start using it? We are 7weeks, is it too early? |

Onegai: You can give her a pacifier. Some people say some babies that are breastfeeding tend to reject the breast in favour of plastic which is why they are not big on pacifiers or bottles until breastfeeding routine firmly established. This happened to my nephew. My own issue is that when some babies get used to falling asleep with pacifiers, they get so used to it that to later remove it from them becomes a war (that happened to my niece). So it's something you should have at the back of your mind. But yeah, you can give her a pacifier.
Whatever crutch you give to soothe your baby is going to bite you in the bum later. Mine was using my breasts to soothe her to sleep. We only stopped that this month at 15 months because na war. Even carrying to sleep on your chest to soothe becomes a bad idea later. Can you try letting her go to sleep with maybe a swaddle blanket as comfort? You have to be able to stop everything at 6 to 8 months or it becomes harder.
Baby sleep is a challenge... Thanks for your quick answer. I will sure use it with cauction. I blame myself that she can't fall to sleep on her own. She even tend to wake immediately she placed on the bed, but sleep better if she is carried. God knows I tried so much we don't get to this, I couldn't just stand her cry without carrying, (i guess ttcing for 5years caused this o). I will embrace whatsoever package it comes with so God help me. |

Good day mama,
Pls what is your view on pacifer? Can I give my Lo of 7weeks pacifer? I intend using it to put her to sleep mostly, as she doesn't fall to sleep unlesd she is on breast or being rock while standing. I will be returning to work October 1st, I thought my mum might need it to comfort her when she is feed and cared for but still fussy. Pls mamas what is your experience like? Is it too early to introduce pacifer? |

BritneyStacy: Goodevening Mamas.....I didn't know taking care of a newborn is this time consuming ooo . I finally got an electric breast pump and expressed about 80mls from both breasts. I was expecting to get 80mls or more from each breast. Please suggestions or advice from Mothers with pumping experience cos I really need more milk so others can help lemme rest more too....
1. Isn't that 80mls from both breasts too small ? Am I not supposed to get more when pumping ? 2. What can I do to lactate more and get more milk to pump ?
3. How many times can I pump in a day ?
4. Baby looks small in my eyes. What can I do to make him add more flesh ? He will be 5weeks on Tuesday. Hi Cappo, God will make it easy for us, I believe with time it will get easier. Let me share the little i know (FTM here o)as per the questions: 1. The amount you u get depends; I have pump 150ml each breast and have also had 150ml from both breasts at another time. if you pump just after breastfeeding, you sure will get less milk since lo has taken some amount already. Also ensure you empty both as it will increase supply. 2. Ensure you pump after every breastfeeding as that will trigger your brain to produce more milk. Also do the needful: take as such fluid as you can. 3. It actually depends on your demand, I just pump once a day, though will increase as am returning to work next week. 4. What is his weight gain like? I heard 1kg weigh gain per month is ideal. Other mamas will contribute. Motherhood is beautifull, we shall all harvest the fruit of our labour |

Onegai: I did the same in the U.S. and it was recommended because of dietary needs, every ebf baby is prescribed vit D supplement. When I got back, a doctor told me it wasn't necessary because Nigerian diet tend to be rich in foods heavy with Vitamin D (I i believe he said all the meat we eat compared to the U.S. where they can have salads for lunch daily and it is not like our type of salads). So you can give it for 2 months if you like, it won't harm baby. It is stuff like complex multivitamins that are not recommended, especially when a doctor doesn't recommend it. HTH. Thanks, God blessings |

That was how mothers were sharing the Dove soap comment without paying thank-you fees or telling other mothers where they bought theirs (side-eye). Ha!!! You catch me? I only shared for future use o, my lo is just 3 weeks +, will sure share our experience as soon as we practice it |
