Sorry to say, most of the reasons i'm reading up are foolish. Remember when someone reads a message, it ticks blue. If you choose not to read the person's message you can just Ignore it so the button won't tick. In that way the person will be convinced you haven't read it. Also there is an option to choose who can see your Last seen on whatsapp and when you are Online. So you easily put that on instead of turning off your read receipts.

But honestly its not really good to post your entire life on social media, every human being should have a bit of privacy. Even some secrets should be personal and carried to the grave

There is a reason for such, you may see it as coward, for me, it isn't, I put off mine for a reason and also put off those that viewed my status for privacy sake. That is why such feature are placed under privacy, you won't tell me that you know more than the person that owned WhatsApp...... I just don't want to give you reasons why so many people does that because I know you will still argue about it.

there is an option to restrict some viewers if you are concerned about privacy. Its more important to know those who constantly view your status, its a way to know those who always checks up on you. Like there is this friend who always views my status even when i post boring stuff, the guy keeps checking on me and thats why i like him. If you keep on going private, you may never know .
