🧜♀️ Deep beneath the shimmering shores of the island lived a beautiful mermaid named Janice. 🧜♀️ Her hair flowed like moonlight on water, and her tail shimmered with every color of the sea — blues, greens, and hints of silver when the sun hit just right. While the other mermaids sang and danced in the coral palaces, Janice was different. She loved watching the human world above. Janice was no ordinary mermaid. Every night, at *12 midnight*, she was granted a rare gift — the power to transform into a human girl. But at *6:00am sharp*, the magic faded, and she would turn back into a mermaid, no matter where she stood. She loved wandering through the human town after midnight. But it was always the same: silent streets, dark windows, and sleeping people. She wished she had someone to talk to. She was lonely and didn't know how to communicate with humans. All she did was just stare at them. Stare at the streets, listen to some loud music that plays at night and the enjoy the cool atmosphere. “Why do humans waste the most beautiful hours of the night asleep?” she often wondered. One night, at 12:15am, Janice walked past the old pier. What she saw made her freeze. A cruel fisherman was dragging a small boy whose hands were bound with rope. Standing beside him were three men in black coats. They looked like dark sorcerers, counting wads of money. *FISHERMAN* He’s the last one. Pay me. Janice’s heart pounded. These men meant to harm the boy. And she only had *six hours* before she turned back. Thinking quickly, Janice stepped forward in her human form and pretended to cry. *JANICE* Help! My little sister fell into the water! The men turned toward her, distracted. In that moment, Janice knelt by the water’s edge and sang her secret song. _WHOOSH!_ A wave crashed forward, and icy mist burst from the sea. It struck the three men and froze them solid where they stood. *JANICE* This will only last an hour. I have to move now. She ran to the boy, untied his hands, and pulled him to safety. *JANICE* Where do you live? *BOY* _(trembling)_ I... I don’t know. I’m lost. *JANICE* Don’t worry. I’ll help you. The boy stared at her in awe. *BOY* Who are you? I saw what you did. You spoke to the water and froze them. *JANICE* _(softly)_ I’m a mermaid. And I’m here to help you. *BOY* Wow... amazing. An hour later — _CRACK!_ The ice shattered. The men were free, and furious. “Find them! Kill them!” they roared as they searched the docks. Janice grabbed the boy’s hand and they ran. They hid in an abandoned boathouse, holding their breath as footsteps passed by. At 3:00am, Janice had an idea. The lighthouse. At 4:30am, they reached the lighthouse. Janice bolted the door and climbed to the top. She rang the great bell — _CLANG, CLANG, CLANG!_ Then she turned the light toward the police station, flashing SOS across the water. At 5:50am — _WEE WOO, WEE WOO!_ Police sirens filled the night. The criminals panicked and fled, dropping their money bag behind them. The police broke in. *POLICE* Are you alright? What happened? *BOY* Those men tried to kill us. Thank goodness you came. Janice glanced at the sky. *5:58am.* Her legs began to tingle. Scales shimmered across her skin. She was transforming. *JANICE* _(panicked)_ No... not here... Her tail was forming. If anyone saw, her secret would be exposed. The boy noticed instantly. He thought fast. He grabbed her hand and shouted to the officers: *BOY* She’s in shock! She needs air! I have to get her to the water, now! Before anyone could stop them, he dragged Janice out the back door and to the sea wall. Cameras flashed. People ran forward. *5:59am.* Janice was half mermaid. Her legs were fusing together. *JANICE* _(whispering)_ Thank you... *BOY* _(pushing her gently into the waves)_ Go! I’ll tell them you ran away. _SPLASH!_ At *6:00am sharp*, Janice became a mermaid once more and dove deep beneath the surface. All the people saw were ripples. *BOY* _(to the crowd)_ She left. She said she didn’t want to get herself involved in Police case. Her secret was safe. The police arrested the criminals that night, thanks to the evidence they left behind. The boy was placed in a safe home. He never told anyone the truth about Janice. But every full moon, he would walk to the shore. And there, waiting in the moonlight, was his friend. Years passed. The boy grew up and became a coast guard officer. Janice finally had what she had always longed for — a true friend in the human world. She spent every one of her six hours with him, laughing, talking, and watching the night together. And she finally understood: The night was never empty or lonely. It was simply waiting for two heroes to wake up. *THE END* ✨ - |

*"THE SNAKE WOMAN AND THE BLIND MAN"* _A myth about love, scales, and truth_ --🐍🐍🐍 *CHAPTER 1: THE WOMAN WITH MOONLIGHT SKIN* Her name was *Nne Udo* — but the elders called her *Eke Nwanyi*, The Snake Woman. Every full moon she would shed her skin at the river, become a woman, and walk into the village of *Umuari*. She was beautiful. Hair like black water. Voice like rain. But she could never stay. By dawn she had to return to the river, or her true scales would show. She was lonely for 200 years. Until she met *Obinna*. *CHAPTER 2: THE BLIND MAN WHO COULD SEE WITH HIS HANDS* Obinna was 27. Handsome. Tall. A wood carver. But he had been blind since birth. The village pitied him. Nne Udo did not. To her, he was the first person who never stared at her. Never asked why her eyes looked like pools at night. Never flinched. He "saw" her with his hands. *SCENE: BY THE IROKO TREE* _Evening. Obinna is carving. Nne Udo sits beside him._ *OBINNA* Your voice is new here. *NNE UDO* I just came to the market. *OBINNA* _(reaches out, she lets him)_ Can I? _His fingers trace her face. Her jaw. Her neck. Her hands._ Your skin is cool. Like river stone. And your hair smells like rain. Nne Udo’s heart broke and mended at the same time. For the first time, someone loved her without seeing her. They fell in love. He would describe the sunset to her. She would describe colors to him. He called her _"my moon"_ because she was always cool and bright. *CHAPTER 3: THE NIGHT HE FELT THE TRUTH* One night during harmattan, Obinna was sick with fever. Nne Udo stayed to nurse him. She forgot the time. Dawn was coming. As she held his hand, he whispered: *OBINNA* You’re so cold today. And... your skin. _His fingers moved down her arm._ It’s smooth... but here... _He felt it. A faint ridge. A scale. Then another. Under her wrist._ He sat up, heart pounding. *OBINNA* Nne? What is this? The first ray of sun hit the window. Nne Udo gasped. Her eyes went gold. Her neck elongated. She couldn’t run to the river in time. Half woman. Half serpent. Scales from her collarbone down. Tongue flicked once. *NNE UDO* _(crying)_ Please don’t scream. But Obinna couldn’t see her. He could only _feel_ her. And what he felt was not human. *OBINNA* _(backing away)_ You’re... you’re not a woman. *NNE UDO* I am. I am also this. I love you, Obinna. I’ve never lied with my heart. *OBINNA* Then why didn’t you tell me? *NNE UDO* Because I was afraid the moment you "saw" me, you would stop letting me touch you. She cried. Her tears were clear like water. She turned and slithered out the door, back to the river before the sun could burn her. *CHAPTER 4: THE CHOICE* For 7 days Obinna did not eat. The village said _"A spirit was in his house."_ The priest said _"Drive her away with fire."_ But Obinna remembered her hands. Her voice. How she laughed when he dropped his chisel. On the 7th night, he went to the river. He sat on the bank and called her name. *OBINNA* Nne Udo! If you’re a snake, then bite me. If you’re my moon, then come. The water rippled. She rose. Fully serpent this time. 12ft long, with eyes that held galaxies. She could have killed him. She could have left. Instead she rested her head in his lap. *NNE UDO* You’re not afraid? *OBINNA* I was afraid of loving a lie. Now I know the truth. I can’t see you. But I know you. The question is... can you live with a man who will never see your beauty? *NNE UDO* And can you live with a woman who must return to water every dawn? *CHAPTER 5: THE ENDING* They made a deal. Every night, she would come as a woman and be with him till 4am. Every morning before sun, she would return to the river. He carved her a comb from iroko wood. She gave him a scale that never got cold. The village never understood. They called him _"the man who married a river."_ He called her _"the woman who taught a blind man to see."_ When Obinna died at 80, they found him by the riverbank. Coiled around him was a large python. It didn’t move when people came. It only left when the first rain fell. Some say Nne Udo still comes out on full moons. If you go to the river and you’re lonely, and you close your eyes... you might feel cool hands trace your face and hear a voice say: _"I don’t need your eyes to love you."_ *THE END.* --- *MORAL:* Love isn’t about what your eyes see. It’s about what your heart can hold — even if it has scales. 🐍 |

Rebecca and Temi have been dating for 5 years but Temi could never tell the secret Rebecca has been hiding from him for 5 good years. What could be this secret? How did Temi unveil this secret? What will become Temi and Rebecca's fate in this relationship? Find out in this intriguing heartwarming love story. Chapter One (Love birds first meeting) It was a cold, rainy afternoon. The sky was calm and the air felt peaceful. Temi decided to step away from work for a bit and grab lunch at a restaurant nearby. The moment he walked into the restaurant, he stopped in his tracks. Sitting alone was a stunning young woman in a red gown. Her hair was long, straight, and jet black, shining under the lights. Her makeup was perfect — especially the bold red lipstick on her soft, full lips. Her fair skin had a natural glow. In front of her was a glass of wine and a plate of pepper soup with chicken. Temi couldn’t look away. He was so distracted by her beauty that he completely forgot about ordering food. Gathering courage, he walked up to her table. “Hello, beautiful,” he said with a smile. She looked up and smiled back. “Hi.” “I’m not even exaggerating,” Temi said. “You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve seen in a long time.” She blushed. “Thank you.” Temi couldn’t stop complimenting her. “How can I get the number of such a beautiful lady?” She laughed softly. “I don’t give my number to strangers.” Temi reached into his pocket and brought out his business card. “I’m not a stranger. Here’s my card. I own REXLES Company, just down the road from this hotel.” “Wow, that’s impressive,” she replied. “May I know your name?” “Rebecca,” she said. “Rebecca, please call me sometime. I’d love to hear from you. And don’t worry about your bill, I’ll take care of it.” “I’ve already paid,” she said politely. “But thank you.” “Alright. I’m starving, so I’ll go order something.” “I’m actually about to leave,” Rebecca said. “But I’ll call you when I get home. We can talk and get to know each other.” “That sounds great,” Temi said. He offered to drop her off, but she declined. “I already booked a Bolt. My driver is on the way,” she explained. She thanked him, stood up, and walked out gracefully. Temi watched her go, admiring her poise and figure. “Wow… she’s perfect,” he whispered to himself. After work, Temi went home but his mind was still on the gorgeous woman he met earlier. He kept waiting for her call. Every minute, he checked his phone hoping to see her name. It was getting late — almost 10pm — and she still hadn’t called. Temi began to feel sad and discouraged. He thought maybe she wouldn’t call at all. He regretted not asking for her number before she left. “I don’t think she’ll call,” he muttered. He plugged his phone to charge and lay on his bed. He was exhausted from work, but sleep wouldn’t come. All he could think about was Rebecca. She was stuck in his head. After a while, he finally drifted off. Then suddenly — his phone rang. Temi’s eyes snapped open. He jumped off the bed and rushed to answer it. “Hello, is this Temi?” a female voice asked. “Yes, it’s me. Is this Rebecca?” “Yes, it’s me,” she replied. “What took you so long? I was almost dying here waiting for your call, Rebecca. I waited almost all night. Please don’t do that to me again.” “I’m sorry, I had some things to handle at home,” she said. “It’s fine. I’m just really happy you called. You don’t know how I feel about you.” “How do you feel exactly?” she asked, amused. “Rebecca, do you believe in love at first sight? Because the moment I saw you, you took my breath away. I fell for you instantly. Right now, you’ve got me completely wrapped around your finger.” “Easy there, mister. We’re still getting to know each other,” she teased. “Okay, ask me anything. I’ll answer you honestly.” “Mr. Temi, it’s almost midnight and I have work tomorrow. I need to sleep. I just called to keep my promise. We’ll talk more another time when I’m free, and we can get to know each other better.” Temi felt disappointed that she was hanging up. “Alright, no problem. Goodnight. Sleep well, beautiful.” “Goodnight,” she said, and ended the call. Temi kissed his phone like 5 times in excitement. “I’ve found my missing rib,” he said with a grin as he jumped on his bed and hugged his pillow. --- Chapter Two (to be contd) - |

Hope you are enjoying it. I will post the concluding part tomorrow |
Rose and Cecilla were identical twins. In every way they were the same — the same complexion, the same height, even the same voice. But despite looking alike, they could not stand each other. The two sisters shared the same bitter traits. They were both cold, proud, and showed no love for one another. Their lives were filled with rivalry, constant quarrels, and fights. Their parents had separated. Their father, Mr. Patrick got custody because their mother, Mrs. Margaret was unfaithful and struggled with alcohol. He tried everything to make his daughters live in harmony and care for each other, but nothing worked. The bitterness between them only grew deeper. As adults, the hatred was worse. They refused to stay in the same hostel. They never shared clothes, perfume, or jewelry. Sometimes they would pass each other on the street and act like strangers. People wondered how two sisters could despise each other so much. Everything changed when Rose met Richard on campus. They fell in love and began dating. When Cecilla found out, jealousy took over. She was upset that Rose had a boyfriend before her. Because they looked exactly alike, Cecilla came up with a wicked plan. One night she went to Richard’s lodge pretending to be Rose. Richard couldn’t tell the difference. Cecilla copied Rose’s dressing and manner of speaking perfectly. She gave him a drink laced with drugs, slept with him, and while he was unconscious, she used his phone to call Rose. She told Rose to rush to the lodge because Richard was in danger. When Rose arrived, she was shattered to find Cecilla and Richard naked together. Richard tried to explain that he had no idea it was Cecilla, but Rose was too hurt to listen. She walked out crying. Cecilla laughed in victory, proud that her plan worked. That day, Rose swore to get back at her. Not long after, Cecilla was preparing for her final exams. Rose saw her chance. She sneaked into Cecilla’s room and remembered that her sister drank Nescafé tea every night. Rose poisoned the tea. The next morning was exam day, but Cecilla couldn’t wake up. Her friends panicked and called security. Cecilla was rushed to the hospital unconscious. With Cecilla out of the way, Rose stepped in. She dressed like her sister and went to write the exams in her place. Cecilla’s friends assumed she had recovered. Rose deliberately wrote nonsense answers to make sure Cecilla failed — her own form of revenge. After Cecilla recovered from the hospital, she discovered that someone had impersonated her and written her exams. She investigated and found out it was Rose. She confronted Rose and demanded to know why she sat for her exams without permission. Rose pretended to be concerned and lied, saying she only did it to help her sister so she wouldn’t fail. Cecilla didn’t trust her, but she had no choice since it was already done. She could only hope Rose had written well for her. It shocked her because Rose had never been kind to her, and they had never gotten along. When the results were released, Cecilla saw that she had failed every subject. She realized Rose had tricked her. She broke down in tears because she would have to repeat the session. Rose laughed and sent her a text: *"An eye for an eye. Remember what you did to my Richard."* Enraged, Cecilla stormed to Rose’s hostel. They fought fiercely until other students separated them. Cecilla vowed that this time, she would make Rose pay dearly. She hatched a more dangerous plan. Cecilla hired a hitman to kill Rose. She paid him a huge amount and gave him Rose’s address and full details. On the night of the attack, Rose’s father had come to visit her. He was advising her that what she did to Cecilla was wrong when the hitman entered the room with a gun. Rose and her father screamed. As the gunman tried to shoot Rose, her father quickly grabbed a rod and struck him. The hitman fell, injured, with his gun dropping beside him. "Run!" her father shouted. Rose opened the door and ran out. The hitman struggled to his feet. Her father tried to hit him again, but the man dodged, kicked him to the ground, picked up the gun, and shot him twice. He died on the spot. They rushed him to the hospital, but he was declared dead. When Rose and Cecilla heard about their father’s death, they wept uncontrollably. Rose knew the hitman was after her, not her father. So she went to the police and told them she suspected Cecilla. The police launched an investigation. They checked call logs, fingerprints, and her phone. They found text messages between Cecilla and the hitman. Using that, they tracked him down, arrested him, and he confessed that Cecilla hired him. Cecilla was arrested too. Crying, she admitted she sent the hitman — but she meant to kill Rose, not her father. The police beat her thoroughly. The story went viral. Headlines and social media exploded: *"Twin sister hires assassin to kill sister, ends up killing her own father."* It caused massive outrage. Their mother, Mrs. Margaret saw the news from where she was living and collapsed in tears when she realized it was her daughters and her husband. She had changed over the years. She had repented and left her old life behind. Now she cried bitterly, regretting that she wasn’t there for her children. She blamed herself — maybe if she had been a good mother, they wouldn’t have turned out this way. She remembered her alcoholism, smoking, infidelity, and constant fights with her husband. She knew her children had picked up her bad behavior. Overcome with guilt, she began searching for a way to find her daughters again after hearing the heartbreaking news. Mrs. Margaret came home to see her daughters, Rose and Cecilla But Rose was cold. She hadn’t forgiven her mother for abandoning them as babies. “Please forgive me,” Mrs. Margaret cried. “I know I was wrong. I’ve changed.” Rose turned away. “You’re a disgrace to motherhood. Leave and don’t come back.” Heartbroken, Mrs. Margaret left and went straight to the police station to see Cecilia. Cecilia was also bitter seeing her Mother. “You only have a few minutes,” the officer warned. Mrs. Margaret held Cecilia’s hands and wept. “I failed both of you. I’m so sorry.” “I’ve ruined my life with hate,” Cecilia sobbed. “I’ll probably spend the rest of my life in jail.” “Then let me take your place,” Margaret said firmly. “Whatever sentence they give you, I’ll serve it. Consider it my sacrifice for being a terrible mother. But in return, promise me that when you’re free, you and Rose will make peace.” Cecilia cried. “If you do that for me, I promise.” “Time’s up,” the officer said. “I’ll be back,” Margaret whispered. In Court, the judge found Cecilia guilty of murdering her father, Mr. Patrick, and sentenced her to life in prison. Cecilia broke down. Rose watched from the gallery and smiled. After court, Mrs. Margaret went to Rose again. “I saw you smiling when your sister was sentenced,” she said. “I’m still your mother. I love you both. This hate has to stop. I’m going to prison for Cecilia. Don’t let my sacrifice be wasted. My only wish is for you two to live together in peace. United we stand, divided we fall.” “I don’t care,” Rose snapped. “You and Cecilia can rot. She tried to kill me. Dad died saving me. She’s evil.” “I don’t know how else to reach you,” Margaret cried. “I will never love her,” Rose said and walked away. Alone in the garden, Rose thought about the past. She remembered playing with Cecilia as little girls, before the hate began. “Why do I hate my own twin so much?” she cried. “God, help me. I’m not perfect either.” At her father’s grave, Mrs. Margaret laid flowers and cried. “If I had stayed, maybe we could have raised them right. I failed all of you. This is the only way I can show them love now.” Rose had followed her, she was behind her listening to her talking to her father's grave as she cried. She stepped forward, tears in her eyes. Then she tapped her mother on her shoulders and said; “I forgive you, Mama. I’m sorry.” Margaret was surprised. She quickly hugged her and they cried together. After some few weeks, Mrs. Margaret went to the station and signed the papers and took Cecilia’s place in prison as she promised. Months later, Cecilia was released. At the gate, she hugged her mother. “Thank you. I promise to change and live in peace with Rose.” “Make me proud, my daughter,” Margaret said. Outside, Rose was waiting in a car. The sisters looked at each other, then ran into a tight hug. “I’m sorry,” Rose cried. “I’m sorry too,” Cecilia cried. They drove home together. Years Later, the twins healed. They chose to live in unity, and even decided to marry the same man so they’d never be apart. They met Charles — a kind, wealthy businessman who loved them both. He agreed. On the day of their Wedding in Church, both wore white gowns and walked down the aisle to Charles. He kissed them both as guests cheered. The pastor pronounced them husband and wives. Afterward there was music, dancing, food, and joy. And they lived happily together, raising beautiful children. They visited their mother in prison often. Seeing her daughters at peace filled Mrs. Margaret’s heart with joy. *United we stand. Divided we fall.* The End.
